I think maybe the restaurant is too big for the amount of staff they have because it feels like you tend to get forgotten unless you're one of the parties of 10 in the middle of the room. The tables are sticky and restroom cleanliness could use work. The food is still amazing, don't get me wrong. I will still happily hide in the corner and consume an entire bowl of beef pho and a sweet tea or a pot of jasmine tea. I've only stopped in to pick up Fresh Rolls (Spring Rolls) before dining in for the first time today. Today I decided to try their vermicelli pork bowl, the presentation was cute (I took the picture after I stirred the ingredients, I was hungry ). I eat a lot of Vietnamese food and honestly this fell way short of my expectations. The vermicelli noodles were to thick, the lettuce was romaine bag lettuce, no carrots, no daikon, no onion, no peanuts and the fish sauce was plain wth no added rice vinegar or chili sauce for some kick, really bland. The pork was inconsistent in size and texture and some looked like bacon that wasn't cooked. I couldn't eat it past three bites. I did enjoy my fresh rolls as always, but again I've had much better and this restaurant only gets my business when I'm nearby and hungry for some fresh rolls, not because they're great. This place seems to have forgotten their roots or Americanized their food for ease. The place is large, older decor, nice bar and the music is usually either oriental or classical calmness. I've always had pleasant experiences here, close to my kids school I will often pop in for some quick appetizers. The fresh rolls are to die for. Served with a peanut sauce. It was chock full of veggies and noodles and the coconut broth was flavorful and not too heavy. The portion size was huge. I had enough for two full meals. Our summer rolls were fresh and delicious.
