I found it very odd as I've eaten at this location multiple times outside and never have been asked to pay for my food in advance. Not long after, 2 white women sat at a table outside beside us, I watched to see if the same waiter would charge these women in advance for their food, which he did not. my favorite place for pho in the neighborhood! and there are many!! also love they have kids size. so bummer we went in 45 min before closing and was reminded multiple times that they close at 9... we knew what we would order. ordered right when we sat down. and he reminded us it was 8:20 and they would be closing at 9! they brought the food. Unfortunately we will not be going back here. We went here for dinner last night and ordered 4 beef noodle bowls and 3 eggrolls to go at 5:45. We were waiting for an hour for our order. There were only a couple of tables that were for dine in. We kept checking on our food and they kept saying another 20 minutes. An hour later we finally got our to go order. I love this place! It's close to home and in the part of Belmar that doesn't get as much traffic, so you don't have to fight for a parking spot. The pho is excellent, I usually get the veggie or the brisket. The combination noodle bowl is really good too. And I recommend getting an iced coffee from there, yum! Pho is a Gluten-Free Vegan's saving grace, especially when the broth is euPHOric! When the weather dips below 50º for this Texan, you'll find me at a Pho place. We've had the fortunate opportunity to visit a few here in Denver and Pho Basil has the best tasting veggie broth. It is super flavorful and not greasy. The Veggie Pho comes with a good portion of vegetables (carrots, broccoli, onions, celery, mushrooms, snap peas) although I'd love to see Bok Choy make an appearance! The Pho comes with fried onions, we haven't had any gluten related issues. They do not have gluten-free soy sauce. The service is friendly. The food is quick and hot! read more

Wifey and I were visiting Denver and tried this place for dinner. We were greeted as we came in and were seated right away. Waiter took our order a short time later. Waiter was very friendly. It didn't take long for our food to come out and the wait staff stopped by a few times to check on us. The service was great. I had a combo vermicelli bowl and wife ordered pho. My bowl was delicious and plentiful. Wife loved her pho. Broth had very good flavor. This place is part of the Belmar shopping district. When we were done eating and went outside, the streets had lights up everywhere and it was very beautiful. They have some really cool stores, shops, and restaurants in the area. I'm the type that usually schleps on over to Federal for my Pho Phix. So I may be a little spoiled. With that said... Pho Saigon Basil is nearby. Like, I could walk. So for convenience, it's A-Ok. I mean... At least I don't have to sit at red lights on Alameda. And I would probably pick up some soup on my way home again, if the craving stuck. So the Pho is doable.... But.... I'm a HUGE fan of Vietnamese Combination Rice Plates. All in one, baby. Spring Rolls, lots of meats, egg, shrimp, rice... Fish Sauce to dunk... Pho Saigon's was passable, but the shrimp were so rubbery and old that even I didn't eat them (And I don't waste shrimp!)... Also the Spring Rolls were really greasy. I wouldn't get that again. So far, so good! Literally! I work in Belmar and am burned out on all the chains, heavy food, and high prices. Pho Saigon Basil is a great change of pace. I ordered tofu spring rolls and a grilled pork noodle bowl to go but opted to sit outside and eat it. A server brought me sauces and chopsticks once they saw me camped out. They have abundant indoor and outdoor seating, the waitstaff was VERY on the ball with taking orders and bringing food, and above all everything I had was very tasty! The spring rolls were packed with fried tofu and fresh herbs and the peanut sauce was just right, not too sugary. My noodle bowl was satisfying. Plenty of tender pork, the noodles were just right, and lots of vegetables: Crispy fried shallot, lettuce, cucumber, pickled carrot and daikon, bean sprouts, and mint, plus ground peanuts. Well overall not as good as the locations on Federal, This is a wonderful spot for pho since it is in the heart of the Belmar shopping district and close to so many other restaurants and stores. I felt they were not as generous with the trimmings. I also felt though, that there was more meat in my pho than most of places offer. I've eaten at all kinds of pho places on south federal and this one ranks with the best of them. The ingredients are fresh, well portioned, and have tons of flavor. I usually get the veggie pho (with veg broth)- which is hard to find anywhere else and on top of that, finding veggie pho that has the same depth of flavor as beef pho. The veggie pho is so good, many meat-eater friends now order this above the rest. It comes with roasted garlic and green onions and tons of fresh veggies. So awesome to have something this tasty in the Belmar. Probably my favorite in the area because the prices are so affordable and the waitstaff are really nice. Pho Saigon Basil is a good place to go when you are looking for Vietnamese food west of Federal. I agree with other reviewers that everything is a little bit higher priced (about a dollar per meal higher than you'd expect), but I expect that rent is a lot higher in Belmar than on Federal and I also agree that the menu is a little bit Americanized and not as flavorful as I expected. The Pho is a touch sweet, but the broth is nice and clear, not cloudy. The hosin sauce brand that they use is also a little sweet. Have I had better Pho? Yes, but not near Belmar. Their Banh Mi sandwich was good, not great. The bread was good - fresh and flaky, the fixings were a little bit blander than I expected. I would recommend Pho Saigon Basil to anyone looking for Vietnamese in the Belmar area and doesn't want to head east. read more

Fast, friendly service, yummy food, reasonable prices! And it's one of the cleanest places I've been. I'll admit, at first sip, I was worried the broth was going to be too sweet. But the lime, jalapeno, sriracha, and bean sprouts rounded it out nicely. The meat was just the right amount, the noodles were a bit too prevalent (I think I left half in my bowl), and the veggie accompaniment was more appropriately sized for the two of us than the usual large spread we're often presented with. We still didn't use it all, but it was nice to feel like we weren't wasting so much. You may have noticed I'm a bit critical of pho places that lack in the hydration department. This place serves nice large plastic cups with just a little ice, so you get a lot of water to actually drink. I like that. And it saves the staff from having to worry about refilling so frequently. They have boba smoothies on the menu, yet just below there's a price to add boba. When I asked, it was unclear what the difference was. I decided against adding boba, though my smoothie still came with it... Perhaps that's an option for people who want extra? The wording was just a bit unclear. Either way, though I've had much softer boba, the green tea and honey dew options are both delicious. All in all, I'd recommend pho Saigon basil in a heartbeat. What a find. I was in Lakewood and didn't want to have lunch at a chain. This place is definitely a gem. I had the shrimp rolls wrapped in rice paper with peanut sauce and the crab wontons. The crab wontons could have been a little more crabby in my book but the shrimp rolls were fantastic. Generous and delicious portion of peanut sauce. After a great working out session, my friend and I decided to grab some Pad Thai to reward ourselves. She was the one that recommended me the Pho Saigon Basil, by saying it was the best Pad Thai she ever had in Denver. We did not have to worry about parking since there's a parking lot in the area. The restaurant is located in one of the main streets on Belmar and it's pretty easy to find. There's no hostess, but we were quickly sat by one of the waiters. The servers are nice, friendly, and have a good sense of humor. They definitely have a more casual and simplistic vibe. However, that does not reflect in the food. We waited about twenty minutes for our food, but we knew it was being cooked to order. After trying their Pad Thai, I could understand why my friend wanted me to try it. The dish was warm, the portion was big and filling. I wasn't able to finish it all. It had a pleasant mix of sweet and salty, while at the same time not being overly aggressive with the spices. Awesome Pho. Great location with lots of parking. I initially came in for just an avocado smoothie with boba. They use real avocado, no powder stuff. Then I noticed the time and figured I should eat before I totally miss lunch. I had a small pho with chicken. I fully understand that getting pho with chicken is not what pho is about - it's about the beef - noodles were great, broth on point, I love bean sprouts! and lime... dress it up with sriracha and hoisin and enjoy.
