Pho Saigon Basil is an awesome go-to in the Belmar shopping area. I work right down the street and I love this place for a quick, healthy lunch under $10. They're super fast for both pick-up and dining in. I've had the Shrimp Spring Rolls (my go-to, love the peanut sauce), the Tofu Bahn Mi (which isn't listed on the menu but OH SO GOOD and like $6 - they also have meat options), and last night I had the Pho for the first time which is their main menu staple. Now, I've yet to really get on the pho bandwagon like everyone else in Colorado, but last night may have changed my mind. This pho broth was super flavorful (and I ordered the vegan option!), and had a generous helping of veggies. I could have used a bit more tofu though. I'm giving 4/5 stars because while this place is awesome, it's certainly not fine dining and doesn't offer anything you can't get elsewhere but all in all - very very good. read more

Tried the Pho Saigon Basil location in Littleton on Bowles Avenue for the first time yesterday. We had the combination vermicelli salad bowl (bun) for our dinners. I've been looking for a pho place that could recreate my first experiences with bun when a good friend (who is Vietnamese) introduced me to it years ago. So far, Pho Saigon Basil has come the closest. The flavors were slightly different, but the food experience was just as rewarding. The portions are very large, so be ready for a filling experience. The combo has a great assortment of beef, chicken, shrimp, pork, and egg roll in it. The fish sauce is delicious and not spicy at all (which I love). They have an excellent coconut shrimp appetizer as well (great plum sauce), and crab cheese wontons that are as good as any Chinese take out place (although the pineapple flavor of the dipping sauce was not what I was expecting). Although we did take out for our first experience, I did go into the restaurant to pick up. From what I could tell, the place was very clean and pleasing to the eye. The atmosphere was nice, and would certainly be a good place to sit and eat a tasty meal. The man who rang up my order (whom I assume is an owner or, at the very least, a manager by our conversation) was very polite and so personable. I can't wait to give the other dishes a try, especially the pho on a chilly winter evening. All-in-all, I highly recommend Pho Saigon Basil's Littleton location. read more

Came to Pho Saigon Basil for the first time and it was a wonderful experience. Hieu served us and did a really wonderful job. We had Thai Iced Tea with Boba and it is very good!!!! We also had Pho Seafood and it will def clear you up if you are stuffed up. The Medium size bowl is a really good amount of food. The ambience is nice and comfortable. Very clean, simple Pho restaurant. I'm a giant Pho fanatic and I go to lots of Pho places. This one is on the top of my list. Quick and great service, very good Pho. Little bit Havier on the noodles side but very good for someone who is hungry. I REALLY enjoyed the mango Bobba! Tasty, velvety consistency and perfect amount of tapioca. The restaurant is located in BellMar and the standard of this Pho place is a little higher than most of the places. I recommend this place for families and coupes. Their bun bo nuong (beef vermicelli) was $11 and just dry as could be! It literally could have been beef jerky. However, the venue is cute and in a seemingly good area. I had stopped by 24 Hour Fitness and this was my post workout treat! Unfortunately, I wasn't impressed with the quality of meat or the price tag. Pho Saigon Basil is a good place to go when you are looking for Vietnamese food west of Federal. It is a touch pricier (about a dollar per meal) than the plethora of pho restaurants on south Federal. They have a good location with plenty of parking . I have been twice and had the rare steak pho, Vietnamese egg rolls, and boba. All of these are good, but do not stand out from other Vietnamese food I've had. I'd like to go back and try their Bahn Mi, which is sometimes offered as a daily special, but is not on the main menu. The servers are friendly and the food service is fairly standard. It did not take long to order and get our food, but we waited quite a while for our bill; we ultimately had to ask for the bill from our server. I would recommend Pho Saigon Basil to anyone looking for Vietnamese in the Belmar area. read more

I used to hop around Federal for pho until I found this place. Overall, it's a more enjoyable experience than the Federal restaurants. They don't yell at you upon walking in and wave you to some table. This place actually refills your water when your mouth is on fire from dipping food in too much siracha! I love the service, the spring rolls, the cold noodle bowls with egg rolls or pork (both toppings are seriously delicious) and a pho bowl sans meat. This place gets 3 stars because I can walk there. And because it is not a major chain restaurant (too many of those in Belmar). So, after a long day it's nice to not have to get in the car. The interior is clean and nicely decorated. The food... it's decent, not bad really. I have tried the spring rolls, egg rolls, rice plates and Pho. Rice plate was probably my least favorite. Prices are a little high, but it's Belmar. It's not going to make my top 5 for favorite Pho places, those are on S. Federal. Ho hum. Nothing substantially wrong with Pho Saigon Basil, but also nothing that stands out about it. Major pluses are great parking and a good central Lakewood location in Belmar (next to Champa Street Burgers). The dining room has quite a bit of seating, is bright and simple but pleasant, and there are a few tables on the street in front. This really is a pho restaurant as the name suggests - the menu consists mainly of appetizers (Vietnamese egg rolls included), noodle soups, rice noodle bowls and pho - there aren't many Vietnamese dishes otherwise. Tonight's special was a (one) banh mi sandwich, and like most pho restaurants they serve boba drinks and Vietnamese iced coffee. Our food was fine - we had a pork rice noodle bowl, a meatball pho and rare steak pho - all were good but not memorable, but in fairness, I've never found that pho is substantially different from one restaurant to another (ditto for rice noodle bowls). Pho Saigon Basil isn't expensive, but is a little pricey in comparison to its competition - Vietnamese egg rolls, rice noodle bowls, pho and boba are all around $1.00 to $1.50 more than on the South Federal corridor. The meat in our pork and meatball dishes was generous, but pretty scant in the rare steak pho. The veggie plate they provided for 3 bowls of pho was also far from generous - for 3 bowls of pho they literally gave us 4 small slices of jalapeno to share. And this is the only place I remember having to pay $.75 extra to have boba in the boba drinks - apparently a boba drink without boba is a "smoothie." Bottom line, if you want pho and want it in the Belmar area, you'll do fine at Pho Saigon Basil. On the other hand, if you want something better than fine, and particularly if you want a true Vietnamese restaurant with a full menu of Vietnamese entrees, head down to South Federal. read more

Service was good though obviously there was little else to concern them aside from a few take out orders. Vegetable pho with normal (non-veggie) broth was tasty. Seemed a little light on the protein though. Generous portions of garnishes (greens, sprouts, limes.) Usual suspects of sauce were present (Sriracha & crew.) Dining room is relatively big and open--if not very intimate--and could easily handle a good size dinner rush, space-wise. Dining in // I've been in several times during the week and weekends because it's the closest Pho restaurant to my house. The service has been prompt and the food consistently OK. Take out // I don't know if this is particular to this restaurant, or Pho in general... My husband ordered the Pho #5 Rare Steak for carry out since I was sick at home. When he opened it up, the steak wasn't cooked AND was partially frozen. Also, the soup was NOT hot enough to just toss the meat in. I had to microwave the pho in a separate glass bowl to get it anywhere close to the temperature it's served at the restaurant. Rather than deal with the hassle of returning to the restaurant, my husband took the time to cook the steak. In the past, we have ordered food to go while at the restaurant without encountering this problem, probably because the steak is tossed in before being packaged. I'd rather have thoroughly cooked steak than a block of steak in saran wrap. TL;DR // I'll still be coming back to dine in once in a blue moon, but I won't be ordering take out. read more
