Wow. So we drove 25 minutes to get there to be rudely greeted by the a gentleman. We were told it would be over a 30 min wait because they were backed up with takeout order's. There was no one eating there. I'm making an assumption that the original owners sold, because we would never have experienced such poor service like that. Delicious phở nice clean broth and has all the fixings on the side, Hoisin, sriracha, even soy sauce. They don't have boba until Feb. 15th they said. That's ok because another boba shop is in the same area connected to the parking lot. Any time I come to the zoo, I will be coming here!!! What a gem in the small town. This is not going to be short so BOOM! That was one of the best things I've tasted in a while. You have to try this Pho, period!!! Now, I'm on my way home from RVA after work. My wife is at home with a sore throat and feeling bad. I decided to find her some really tasty soup to warm her insides. I hopped on Yelp and started my search which lead me to Pho Saigon Garden on Hull Str. This was out of the way, but after reading several reviews and the 4 stars I was determined to go. Nothing but the best for my beautiful lady in distress. 20 so minutes later I arrived. Waked in and the place was fairly empty. The staff greeted me immediately and I asked to place a to go order. After reviewing the menu for a few minutes order 4!items. I waited another 15 minutes and was on my way with a smile on my face. During my drive back down Hull to 288 some person anxious to get home as well I assume popped out in front of me and cause me to hit the breaks! $&@?# Over our dinner goes. I freak and try to grab it up and I'm forced to drive where I can pull over while my hand gets a steam bath from the scalding broth. I checked the damage to our dinner and it's not too bad. I drive 20 minute towards home pretty bummed out. I had to make two more stops for varies comforts for the wifey and at last home. I immediately distribute the most aromatic broth to my wife and await her response. She LOVED it! She commented on how wonderful it tasted and took another sip. I ordered the P7 which basically had the works. The broth was separate and all the other ingredients were on the side. I placed everything in a large bowl and added the broth. I sigh of relief came over me the excitement as took another taste. Amazing!!! The best Pho I've ever had. I can't wait to go back to dine in next time. It was totally worth it all to make my wife feel slightly better and for my first Pho experience. Definitely check them out. Only because I am on my way to Washington State. I've lived in Washington State before and they have some good Pho places but this place is tops. We are always in search of the best Vietnamese Food... specially Pho. We stumbled upon this place while doing a yelp search. Came here we tried several of their appetizers, Several of their Phos, Bubble drinks, and beer. Their Spring roll tasted fresh. The dipping sauce it comes with, per my taste, could have tasted a little more sweeter and more peanut; however, it is the best we have tried in the Richmond area. The Pho was great and tasted very good. The appetizers were very tasty and fresh. We have come here now 10s of times now and with the exception of one visit where the service was horrible, all the other times where great. The one time that It was bad there was a lady we have never seen serving. Perhaps she was new. Very bad at her job as a waitress. Either more training or need to be more attentive. Came and told us she was our waitress and did not give us menus for another 5-10min. Then return and ask if we were ready to order. I mentioned that we needed menus and she frustrate left. Instead the manager or one of the other man we have seen there before came and gave us water. A few minutes later we received menus. It did not end there; however, that was on time out of so many we have tried. We will let that one go. We will return. 1) Food always good and fresh. 2) Pho is very delicious. 3) Wait staff normally great and attentive. Pho Saigon Garden is a great restaurant that is well worth the stop if you are in the area and have a craving for Vietnamese cuisine. I've only been here a few times (and mainly just for a pho fix), but both of my visits have been terrific experiences. My personal choice for pho here is the P2 (sliced eye round steak w/ well done beef brisket). The meat is terrific, the noodles just right and the broth is very flavorful. The ingredients that are brought on a second plate (bean sprouts, cilantro and jalapenos) are all very fresh and the size of the actual bowl of pho is very large and well worth the $8.50 price. I also like to get the summer rolls (2 rolls filled with shrimp, lettuce and sprouts) as an appetizer. These come with a side of peanut sauce and cost $3.50. These rolls are also very fresh and nice to snack on while waiting for your pho. I also highly recommend their bubble teas which come in assorted flavors. The price of $4.50 may seem a bit high, but the flavors are very delicious and worth every penny (especially the avocado flavor, which is my personal favorite). There is also a lazy susan on the table with a variety of condiments such as hoisin sauce and Sriracha (which I like to add to my pho to give it more kick). The servers here are also very nice and quick with refills on water or whatever else you need. Considering the great quality of the food, I consider the prices here to be a real bargain. I'd highly recommend this place to everyone looking for good pho (even more so since there aren't many Vietnamese places south of the river). read more

They staff did not have their act together. Sat at the bar and was ignored for a couple minutes then 10 minutes went by with "we'll be there in a second". Decided I'll get to go since it already looked like a train wreck. Ordered salt and pepper shrimp and mango bubble tea. Order took a long time to come out, they said there was a mix up in the kitchen. Decent flavor but not worth it if you aren't local. Mango bubble tea tasted like sweet milk no mango. I was handed the wrong receipt, another glaring bad sign. Made sure to take a picture of my receipt in case they try to add anything. read more

I ordered online a few days ago and asked my son to pick it up on his way home. He showed up 45 minutes after the order was placed and it still wasn't ready. There was some confusion on the name the order was under. The owner was incredibly rude to him. Another customer commented on it to my son as they were leaving. The food itself--the meat was overcooked and tough to chew. The peanut sauce that comes with the spring roll appetizer I got was a tiny serving--used to be in a much bigger package. If your a spicy lover for soup, ASK FOR THERE Spicy Beef Soup which is called in Vietnamse, Bun bo Hue. Crispy calamira is good as well, they also have three chinese dishes, crispy chicken and crispy beef, not many kids love eating vietnamse food, but its a win win situation for the whole family. I finally went here with my mom (AKA the pho addict) after much ranting and raving from her, my husband, and my husband's cousin. This place did not disappoint. The pho broth here absolutely kicks the pants off of any other place in town! That, my friends, is a promise, and I have tried many pho places, including some great ones in Philly. The broth is super flavorful and rich. Prices are a buck or two more than some of the other places, surely due to location. This is a much nicer place than many, and there's nothing nearly as good that doesn't require one to cross the river. You pay the money in gas otherwise anyway. The menu is the reason for the docked star. I don't like how there is some Chinese stuff mixed in, and it's not always easy to tell what's what. I do not like Chinese American food, and I ordered something like that on mistake, and it really ruined things for me because I hated it. It was to no fault of the restaurant, I just hate Chinese American food. I wish the menu clearly separated the cuisines. I will just stick to pho or one of the more obviously Vietnamese dishes next time. That pho is definitely worth trying this restaurant for. It really has some rich, standout flavors. Been waiting for a Pho place near Woodlake/Brandermill area for years now and Pho Saigon Garden was worth the wait. Richmond is home to a large Vietnamese community and the competition among Pho joints is heating up - literally. :) Got takeout and I'd have to say that this Pho was among the best I've had in town. One note: unlike some Vietnamese restaurants they serve the beef rare/almost raw. While it will cook some in the noodle soup, we will ask them to brown it a bit next time. read more

We loved this place. But, lately they have been a BIG disappointment. I don't know if they have hired a new chef but 3 times they have got our order wrong and put egg in our meal. We order through Doordarshan for delivery and even call them to make sure that they understand we don't want any egg in our meal. Tried to give this place a second chance tonight due to hair in my food last time and bad customer service..Tonights events happened like this.. *tried to call ahead and order- kept getting voicemail.. So i drove up there to put my order in (20 min drive). The guy was telling others who tried calling that the phone line was down- which is was not. He answered multiple calls while i was there. *I waited an hour for my food when he said 10 minutes. I didnt make a fuss, it was fine. *I opened everything up to make sure my food was all there because he wasnt sure if the order was mine and got an attitude with me about it. *i get home and my steak was still FROZEN. And they forgot the meatballs i paid extra for (i didnt realize when i looked before). They also put very little chicken in the box. *last but not least- the noodles were super rubbery. I even heated the soup up before i added my noodles thinking they would cook more and they didnt.. I dont know if it was a different kind of noodle of what. Honestly the pho just isn't great. They don't make chili oil anymore and the food just really didn't have much flavor. I got pho to go for my friend and I and it honestly was the most disappointing pho I've ever had. Also the stuff they put on the side in the box really wasn't very fresh. Absolutely love this place! We are new to it, but everything we've tried so far has been amazing!! Appetizers were so very good, snow ball shrimp is our fav by far, perfect tempura batter and big juicy shrimp. Just yum!! Also tried Sriracha wings, crispy egg rolls and BBQ paper rolls, all delish! Both chicken and beef fried rice some of the best I've had, perfect flavor and texture. But pho and noodle bowls are my personal favorites. I'm a soup person and this hits the spot just right. Nicely cooked meat in a beautiful, flavorful broth, perfect amount of noodles. It comes with bean sprouts, mint leaves and lime. Recommend adding all of that, really enhances the flavors. The portions are very generous too. Also a touch of Sriracha sauce adds just a perfect amount of heat. Salivating just thinking of it.. Family owned location,friendly staff, clean,pleasant atmosphere, always enjoy coming here. 4 stars for the service, can be a bit better, a bit slow, but will not stop me from going there. Rude Customer Service! We asked the host for a booth, which was okay. Another worker came to put us somewhere else because "it's better for us". Basically trying to argue where we wanted to be seated. Then the waiter comes and is very rude. She was inpatient. She was helping out another table, they called her over because they wanted to switch something out and because the women was still looking at something else from the menu, she left their table immediately and came to us with an attitude. As she was taking our order our toddler grabbed at her little paper, and she snatched it. First of all, there's a better way to do that. Being from Washington state I'm super picky about my pho. This place was super surprising. I got the round eye steak pho and I highly recommend. They cut the meat pieces so they are small and manageable to eat. Gave me more than enough rice noodles. Bowl size is more than adequate as well! We returned last week to Saigon Garden for lunch and had the beef Pho, summer rolls. I checked and got to try a Vietnam beer "33" it was very good. Our server was very friendly and very attentive. He definitely contributed to our experience. The Pho was delicious and so were the rolls. The restaurant is clean and there is plenty of parking. Buyer beware! A group of us went there for lunch one day. The food were tasteless, but that wasn't the worst. When we were ready to pay, the owner didn't give us a customized bill. My charge was $40, higher than I expected. So I asked the owner if the total included tip already, he told me that the total didn't include tip. But after we insisting on a customized bill, we finally saw that he included the 18% gratuity already in our total. VERY SHADY!!!!!! read more

Pho Saigon Garden is a very nice and inviting restaurant, was greeted upon entering the establishment and was waited immediately. Ordered two appetizers sriracha chicken wings and rocket shrimp. Food was delicious, for the entree I ordered the seafood egg noodle stir fry and my friend ordered the shrimp and Chicken vermicelli bowl. The food came incredibly fast, almost scary fast lol. The entree was very flavorful and robust in spices, this place makes you feel like you have left America for the time you are eating here. I was out with my cousin and he ordered the pho bowl with beef. The most amazing broth and pho I have ever been able to witness. This place is definitely one of my favorite from this first time visit, will be coming back here, hopefully sooner than later. read more
