It's hard to compare pho restaurants in Irvine to pho restaurants in Bolsa. It's almost seem unfair. Then all pho restaurants outside of Bolsa would only get a three stars and at max a four stars. So let's talk about the food. If pho is in the name of the restaurant, you have to assume that it's their signature dish. The pho is alright. The broth is not as flavorful, but still very good. It's not to the point where I would want to drink the entire broth. The noodles are okay and the meat quality is decent. There's no special vegetable condiments to come along with it. They do offer onions soaked in vinegar. Their egg rolls are pretty good. My kids love them. They also tried other dishes but I didn't eat the bun or com. Just the pho. If I truly crave a good bowl of pho, I'd drive to Bolsa. If not, there's other restaurants in South Orange County such as this one that are decent. I would definitely come back here in the future. read more

Went here with employees during lunch on several occasions and we all had mixed feelings. The food was good but the service was kind of strange. They made a hassle when trying to split our check an made it very difficult for us. This time we decided to order to-go and pick it up to bring it back to work. I will say that process was very seamless as we ordered ahead of time and it was ready and packed for us to pick up. Total time to pay and pick up wasn't more than 5 minutes which was great. When we got the food, it was very nicely packaged as the soup was separate from the noodles, and the meat was separated nicely. The utensils and condiments were nicely packaged and ready for use, as well as the veggies, which was nice. My biggest complaint was that the soup was barely warm by the time we got back to the office, and our pho orders had significantly less food (noodles and meat) than when we went to eat-in or at other pho places. I wish the to-go sizes were a bit more generous. Overall, pickup experience was good, prices were decent. I just wish it was a better value with the amount of food to the amount we paid. read more

I was desperately in the mood for pho on New Year's Eve, but was disappointed when my first choice pho restaurant was closed. So I decided to make my way to Pho Saigon Pearl even though I was unsure about their 3.5 star rating. But OH BOY, my experience was anything but subpar. Our food arrived within 10 minutes of us being seated even though the restaurant was quite busy. The small pho bowl was huge and was packed with fresh noodles and a good amount of beef. The broth was so flavorful. I also ordered spring rolls, which were delicious dipped with the rich peanut sauce provided on the side. Service was fast, attentive, and friendly. This establishment met my expectations. It was very crowded when my friends & I tried to eat here. Lunch hour rush (ugh). The staff seemed very frantic to get everyone seated & to get the orders in as fast as possible, which I appreciate but it almost seemed as though they were rushing us to order as soon as we sat down. However, our food came out quickly (and was absolutely delicious). Also, as soon as the madness died down the wait staff were much more relaxed & attentive. I believe the manager even came over to ask how our meal was in the midst of the craziness. Which I believe to be respectful. When it's busy & every table is filled & you walk around & check on your customers, that speaks volumes to how much you care about your customer service. So although my friends & I felt rushed at the beginning, the experience was overall so pleasant. The only downside to this place is that they don't have any other broths for pho besides beef. Which is sad for someone like me who only eats chicken & fish. So I wish they had the veggie broth option that they have at the other locations & I hope they implement that soon. Or at least a chicken broth would be a nice addition to the menu for those of us with restricted diets. read more

This place is just OK. I ordered the chicken pho..The pho broth is very mellow and almost flavorless and their rolls are good. But definitely not the best I've had. The pho bowls are average for what you order. My best friend ordered the filet mignon and she loved it! Maybe next time I'll order the same. It's decent sized and they clean up the tables for people to be seated pretty quick. Not a fan of the coded restrooms. The urinal and toilet... the restroom looks dirty! I couldn't use it if I had to. Staff is friendly. I'd give it another go some day. read more

Fucking shit service, ordered take out. I've never heard anywhere else call summer rolls spring rolls. What kind of Vietnamese restaurant calls there cold rice paper vermicelli wrap a spring roll? I thought spring rolls is the fried one. Everywhere I look a spring roll is fried. We called to see if we can exchange it because we aren't able to eat that. Came here one morning at 10am. One of the first groups seated. Came here before during the night time but I don't really remember my experience (good and bad) so I'm treating this review as a first timer. Was greeted by most of the servers standing around 4-5 different people(seemed overkill but as time went by, noticed it got busy) Menu was simple, easy to read and clear enough where my parents could point and the photos and know wha they wanted. Got the egg rolls To start, vermicelli for myself and 2 difference pho bowls. Everything was fresh or at least tasted like it. Foods food when you're hungry. My only review is as we were sitting there, we had to try and get the attention of the servers for simple things, napkins, lemons, an extra plate. There was never really a check up on us after food came so always has to be THAT guy who got up and walked to the register to ask for these things. Do NOT go here. Service is terrible, food is well below average, and they overcharge you for all of it. When we walked in, tables were not bussed; and when we finally sat down, even the menus felt dirty and sticky. It took the staff some time to help us, and we even had to repeatedly ask the staff for some water. One would think maybe the restaurant was short staffed, but there was a large group of staffers in the back more interested in gossiping than attending to the patrons in the front. We ordered our food, and the drinks came out first. I had the black milk tea - it was overfilled with ice and tasted moldy. Two of our dishes came out at the same time; then they brought out the third dish, which was completely wrong. After 15 minutes, we finally asked and it seems like the kitchen completely forgot the order - probably from the aforementioned gossiping. The food is salty, oily, and lukewarm (at best). It did not sit well with us and we had to have a second dinner. When we finally got the check, it was well over $60 for three people - well over the value for the service and goods that were provided. If you want Vietnamese food in Irvine, I would recommend Ha Long Vietnamese Cuisine on Barranca. If you want Pho specifically, I recommend driving the extra 15-20 minutes to Garden Grove (Pho 79) or Lake Forest (Pho Akaushi or Thanh Binh). Either way, I do not recommend this place, and will not be going back - especially with the other options on Yelp. read more

TBH my husband and I had low expectations due to another nearby pho spot that we did not enjoy, but lucky for us this place delivered! Parking was not too bad...spots would open up often. SERVICE: We were seated right away, although it became quite full after we arrived. Our order came out quickly though. And they kept our water cups full. Prices reasonable and good selection. Staff very quick and courteous. My only complaint is :are the drinks are too sweet . Everybody going low sugar these days, Some of drinks are premixed and no choice of less sugar. Durian shake could be thicker, but also way too sweet. Met a friend for lunch as I have been wanting to try this place. Service was excellent but food was mediocre and also pricey. To the owner, The food is good but the to go styrofoam is unhealthy. How hot does your egg rolls come off of the frying pan? Exactly! It will melt the styrofoam! See picture. Came here for brunch, on a Thurs afternoon. Wasn't too packed when I got here as everyone who was seated had already gotten their food for I'm assuming their lunch hour. I ended up ordering their grilled Beef Plate and had a bit of a beef Pho bowl as well. Both were extremely tasty and succulent. The grilled beef along with the vegetable assortment was very filling. I really liked their combo of the two and the portions were pretty good for about $7.50 for the beef plate. Overall they have decent Viet food for a reasonable price. I came here the other day with a coworker. At the end, we split the checks. I'm the type of person that likes to round my bill to the dollar. So that day, the bill came out to be ~$12. I wrote the tip to make the total to be equal to $15. I just checked my bank statement, and this placed charged me $16.78. That is very unlikely of me to do those cents. I cant believe this place would rip off their customers like that. And I have never had a restaurant tell me to leave because we were done eating and just talking. Son was finishing up a hockey tournament in Irvine and I was looking to get something warm. It was past 9 pm and most of the pho places were closed except for Pho Saigon Pearl. Added bonus, it was close to the rink. Plenty of parking, lots of other choices, but we wanted pho....Pretty busy, but not so busy that we were seated once we walked in. Ordered a large beef and tendon and my son ordered a large beef along with spring rolls and chicken wings. Spring rolls was a good size, you really can't go wrong with it, this one was no different except it did have a little more sweetness than others, which was a nice change. Chicken wings were really good. Crispy, with very good sauce. A bit sticky tho..... Pho came in piping hot. Added the normal sprouts, peppers and chili sauce and was ready to dig in. Broth was pretty good and flavorful, beef was nice and tender and my fav the tendons were chunky and plentiful. Overall a good place to go to, prices were on par if what I'm used to up in the Bay Area and the service and atmosphere was pretty good. Pho was mediocre for the price you pay.... Banh Mi was also $10 for a basic one. A side of "Meatballs (3)" ended up costing $2.50, which I thought was 3 balls turns out you get 1 that is cut up into 4 pieces and you only get 3 of that 4, so it cost 2.50 for not 4 meatballs but 75% of 1.... The "Tempura Prawns" ended up being weird, it was just a normal eggroll with a shrimp in the center. For the price paid you won't be getting something as good as something from Little Saigon which is already near by. read more

I was at Diamond Jamboree and was craving some pho - and lucky for me Pho Saigon Pearl happened to be in the same plaza! My first thoughts of the inside of the restaurant was that it was smaller then I expected, but still a good size to house around 10 ish tables. They have booths on the side against both walls and normal tables in the middle. The ambience was calm and quiet - a nice place for lunch with friends or by yourself! The food didn't blow me away. The pho broth tasted typical and doesn't resemble the richly boiled broth of other authentic pho joints. My cousin got the Bun Thi Nuong (with beef) and she said that it was just okay as well. Overall, this is a good place to go if you're in the mood for Vietnamese food (and decent service). But, it wouldn't be my go to place. We came here at around 9pm on a weekday and man it was busy! My friend brought me here saying it's the best Pho around and I needed to try it especially since I was catching a cold. Honestly, the pho was delicious and I had to eat the meat by itself because it was amazing. The tables were also clean and we were immediately seated even though it was busy. The reason why I gave it two stars is because after we ordered and were still eating the waitress brought our bill without us requesting it. I had actually wanted to get some dessert or maybe a drink, but the action was so off-putting that I decided against it and paid the bill. I should also point out that the waitress was less than friendly towards us. I was honestly having a great time there, it was a shame that my last memory has to be the rude waitress. Prime broth and well done brisket in my pho. Being able to select from three types of meat was novel and they don't hold back on the portions.
