Love the Filet Mignon rice dish here! Had it ordered from Postmates/Ubereats here a couple times and ordered it for my entire staff and they all loved it. The sauce they use for this dish stands out in comparison to other Shaken Beef Vietnamese dishes I've had at other places. Only gripe about it is that the portion of the beef is so little. However the orange rice that comes with it is tasty and will fill you up :) This will be my go to place for this dish! #38! I was invited to come here by some co-workers. It is located at the Irvine Spectrum across from the Panda Express, and it is slow food. It has some interior and exterior seating. We sat inside. There was some documentary being played on the TV at the time which was distracting to the eating. Interior volume and conversations were quiet so it was still possible to hear the TV. Food was pretty ordinary and had less salt than expected, at least for what I ate, so it was good overall. I wasn't the one that paid, so I don't know how much it was. They have internal restrooms. I feel like this place is opened to attract tourists or some kind. This is not a place to be if you want something traditional, authentic pho. It is more of a modern style, American mix up noodle soup. I ordered a small bowl do filet mignon with pho (~$10$) the soup was a bit watery and I don't taste any kind of authentic usual pho soup taste. I do noticed that when I sat down, there was a lot of tourist people... Maybe that is the reason why they do their cooking here a little different to attract them and not wanting to scare them off. The restaurant itself is clean but I was seated on the outside and there was a lot of little birds that would fly around your table and possibly take some spring sprouts off your table. On our way back from a great day enjoying some great beers at the Bruery Copperversary celebration, decided to decided to top it off with some delicious Pho. We put our names in the list and after a short five minute wait we were seated. There were so many choices but finally decided on the large combination # 10 pho bowl. This bowl has everything I could want with rare steak, well done brisket, well done flank, fatty flank, crunchy flank, soft tendon, tripe and beef meat balls. Not to mention there were plenty of noodles. The service was good here always checking on us and keeping our water glasses full. One thing that may be bad is that interior seating is very very limited. There's more outside seating, which may not be good on hot days and rainy days, but there is a covering on top. However, if it is a hot day...... yeah. Ordered the Chinese sausage with vegetables and shrimp fried rice. Yeah... go to a pho place, gets fried rice. I'm weird, I'm strange. :P But that was what I had a hankin' for. There weren't too many people there, probably like two or three other tables that were full, but I wasn't really gonna ding them off that. It was really more of a halfway point in the day. xD The waiters came by semi-frequently to check up on you. Now on to the food. The fried rice, you could totally taste the oil and the.... flavor of the strength of their wok (or wherever they cooked the fried rice). You can taste it, it's a bit subtle. The sausages were good, but the shrimp were not too fresh and you could totally tell ): The meal was good for ~$10, so it is reasonably priced and it did do the one job: it made me full. This review is only for the boba smoothie ..... Just like everyone else here in Socal, i've jumped on the boba bandwagon. It seems everytime i venture out i will get on Yelp , to look for the closest boba location. Tonight it lead me here. The location itself is in a beautiful spot at the Spectrum. They have plenty of seating inside and wonderful /clean seating outside. As i walked up to the counter to order my boba , i noticed everyone was enjoying bowls of pho... but not 1 boba on a table. Is that a bad sign? The waiter gave me the menu to choose from & i chose mango. Paid $4.86 . Smoothie is $4.00 and 0.50 for add . Waited about 10 minutes and off i went with my pretty boba... ;) First sip.... Not especially happy Second sip.... VERY thick & weird powder after taste Third sip. .... boba is soft and chewy & good Fourth sip.... back to weird powder after taste left in my mouth & not very fruity. Fifth sip..... after shaking & stirring it up for a few minutes of the shake...... Big sip....then to the trash can. I just couldn't get past the powder flavor & the bland of the mango smoothie. The boba was good but not good enough to drink the rest. The headquarter of hangover city. No wonder this place is always packed on a Saturday afternoon! Very happy that a Pho place has finally opened in the Irvine Spectrum. Pho Saigon Pearl began in the Diamond Jamboree Plaza. The pho here is considerably one of the better pho establishments in Irvine. In addition, from doing take out comparisons, Pho Saigon Pearl wins by giving you the most meats. Not too oily, very little to none MSG, fresh ingredients, vibrant greens, great food. Another great thing about this location is that it is at the corner of the outdoor food mall, which means that it super easy and efficient to park your car if one were to get take out. Managers of Pho Saigon Pearl, it would be EXTREMELY awesome if you would extend your hours of operation. Food was very good and the young server was very nice and helpful too. The manager who took our order and brought us the food however, was rude, not helpful and lacked a sense of customer service. We requested an extra empty bowl to which he said they don't have enough bowls? In a restaurant? Grumpy no can do attitude with any requests made our meal unpleasant. Owners should not have him deal with customers. The young we server was the opposite, very courteous. This is just so the owners know. Tucked away in Spectrum, we have been meaning to try this place out for awhile now. We headed on over, and the place was relatively empty, but it was early, and a weeknight, so not too surprising. The staff was very welcoming and we were seated and had drinks quickly. I opted to do the House Pho combo where you get a spring roll and a soda, after choosing which Pho style you want to get. I went with the #10, which has a variety of meats in it, and sounded very comfort food like and tasty. The husband went with a rice dish since he is still tentative about pho dishes. Everything came out hot and delicious. The spring roll was a particular favorite for me. I had to avoid the peanut sauce due to an allergy (next time I'll tell them to leave it off), but it looked and smelled amazing! The place filled up while we were there and the staff was consistently nice and friendly. They kept our drinks filled and checked in regularly. I decided to write a review after going to this restaurant twice. Although I am not viet, I can say that this is not bad at all. I really enjoy their vermicelli since it has a very interest flavor to it! The chicken breast was well seasoned too there was no need for me to dip the chicken breast with soy sauce or spice sauce. My girlfriend got the lemongrass chicken with rice. Th lemongrass chicken was on point. It was very well seasoned as well. We also got the avocado smoothie since we both like avocado and had never tried one before. It was well worth it! It was not watery at all and you can taste the flavor of avocado. Price (3.5/5) Not bad at all. Most of the dishes are about your typical entrees about $-$10. The avocado smoothie was $4 but it was worth it since the quality was good and the cup was pretty decent size too. They also have kids meal too! They are for kids that are 12 years or younger. Service: (3.5/5) Service is not the worst but it's not the best. It's just about right. Their service is the typical service you receive when you go to a restaurant. Came here for dinner with my roommate and I got to say, this is the nicest and cleanest pho restaurant I have ever been to. Probably because its located in Irvine Spectrum. We decided to sit outside because it was decently warm and our server greeted us immediately. We got the Saigon Pearl Egg Rolls, Phôû Taùi, Phôû Taùi Chín Veø and the Special combination fried rice! TBH, the pho was pretty decent, nothing too special. The meat was actually very chewy. My roommate has been here before and he said it looks like they were having an off day. Anyways,the only reason why I gave it a 4 star was because their egg rolls were actually really good. Very crispy on the outside, hot and juicy on the inside! It was probably the best thing on the menu. Also it was very clean. Overall I had a decent time but even though its close to home, I wouldn't go out of the way to come here. The egg rolls were good, but seasoned a bit differently from usual Viet egg rolls (and not in the way I like). The roll itself was a bit tough, but still nice and crunchy. The noodles and veggies were good, but the fish sauce was less flavorful than I would've liked. I tried my partner's pho meatball and that was yummy. Came here to grab a lunch during a break. 2 spring roll around $6-7. The skin was softer compared to last time. Took a bit long though. Around 20 min so I had 10 minute left to finish my food. The staff was really kind though and offer me a spot and water as I waited. Admired the birds trying to sneak in and the staff trying to shoo them away haha. I only tried the Vietnam shrimo spring rolls with peanut dip so I don't know much about the other dishes. Kinda found it pricey compared to other places but I mean....this is Irvine Spectrum. This place was exactly A-OK. Hubby, mother and I came here for a late-ish dinner one evening after she got done with her allotted hour at Dave & Buster's half-price Wednesdays. The place wasn't busy since it was mid-week and 45 minutes from closing. However, we were quickly seated. Service was pretty good although the guy who seated us almost seemed like he wished we didn't walk in. He was obviously already doing his close-day stuff (refilling sauces, etc.). However, he did warm up to us later. Another guy was pretty cheery and actually said "you're welcome" to our "thank you's". Food came quickly...very quickly. It helped there were only a couple other parties in the restaurant. Food...we all got large pho noodles. Taste was average good though the portions were, I'd say, a little bigger than usual. Prices are also a few nickels higher than anywhere else but I'm sure they pay high rent at the Irvine Spectrum. Mom got a large combo - she couldn't finish all the meat in it. I got the rare beef, tendon and tripe. Tripe was undercooked and still hard to chew. The tendon, always my 2nd fave cut in the pho realm, was perfectly cooked in contrast. Hubby didn't really comment on his dish as he slurped away. We also ordered the spring rolls as we usually do at pho places. They were large and cut in half, beautifully made and presented. Unfortunately, they were bland bland bland. Didn't even taste like they put any mint or basil in it. The sauce was also not great, more sugary/syrupy than peanuty. We packed most of it up and had it at home with our own homemade sauce later that evening. Cleanliness was an issue. A quick glance around told me they leave little stacks of sauce dishes on each table. Because it was the end of the day, some tables were left with just a couple of these dishes. Ours had one and it had food debris in it. Super gross they didn't just take it away. And I suppose it would have been beyond them to provide more, especially when they finally noticed the dirty dish when we moved it aside after being seated. Also, what is up with servers bringing you plates with their thumb right in the middle of the top plate?? Leaves a visible thumb print! Please don't do that....ick. I wanted to try one of the newest restaurants at the Spectrum. I had intended to go next door to TLT, but decided on this spot after reviewing the menu. I wasn't feeling like eating Pho so I went with my other go-to, which is vermicelli noodles with shrimp, chicken and egg rolls. It came out in a large bowl and the presentation was very nice. More importantly, it tasted great. The egg rolls were hot and crunchy. The shrimp was grilled nicely and the chicken flavorful and juicy. This little tiny place is a joke. Service here is terrible and incompetent. They can't even properly set up a table for 9 people (4 adults and 5 small children). The Asian man who thinks he is in charge with the seating really annoyed me, such an idiot trying to put us against their small restroom and blocking its entrance. When I said that's not going to work, he told us with an attitude we can take the tall bar counter height seats out in the front...with kids that might fall off of it?! What an arrogant idiot. I was about to leave with his attitude, but the kids were hungry. So I had to insist them on how to set the inside tables a certain way that made sense and not block the tiny restroom. I didn't like his treatment, he was all "sir" this and "sir" that and kissing asses to other non-Asian guests...but treating his own people with no respect. Do better. Food here sucks, too. I ordered a rice dish, food came out cold...rice tasted old...charbroiled pork came out cold and not charred...shrimps came out dried. Their prices in general were much more than others, but I had no problem if their service was better. I hope there are more and better Vietnamese restaurants at the Spectrum for better representation, better service and foods. This place is an embarrassment and a disappointment. A change of pace brought us to Pho Saigon Pearl for lunch. Hot day + cold noodles = happiness! Seated quickly. Nice selection on the menu. Ordered swiftly. Kept the water flowing. Prices were reasonable. I order vermicelli wherever I go. I just love that grilled chicken/cold noodle/veggie combo. I have to say that I was a tiny bit disappointed that it lacked a bit of flavor. I stared down at my bowl and tried to put my finger on it...perhaps it was the fish sauce lacking that bit of sweet? Or maybe it was the need for more basil and veggies? I ended up squirting a bunch of Sriracha and Hoisin to give the dish a bit of a boost. I think it also ended up making the noodles a bit more starchy. The chicken comes flat on a skewer. One problem...no knife! No knife, no problem! I was up for a challenge!! I shredded those suckers with my fork and spoon. Optimal? Not quite. I prefer the restaurant to do the work in cutting up my meat and laying it in a pretty pattern on the top of my noodles. Not sure if I'll give this place another try. I came here with my friends for dinner before a concert at the Five point Amphitheater. My friends are vegan and they liked this place. We walked right inside and were seated right away. To drink I got their Thai iced tea. They have some pretty good Thai iced tea, I recommend it. It's not too sweet and it's very creamy. To start we got their tofu spring rolls. I'm not vegan, but those spring rolls were very good. The veggies were fresh, the rice noodles and wrapper had a good bounce and the tofu had a good texture. For my entree I got their ribeye beef vermicelli noodle bowl. My friends got their tofu sandwich with added cilantro and extra pickled veggies. My noodle bowl was huge. It was just way bigger than I expected. I put a little bit of sauce and sriracha on it and mixed it up. The noodles were really good, they were firm, not soggy and they carried the sauce well. The ribeye was alright, it was kinda chewy and gristly though. But I liked the marinade on it. It was sweet and sour. We had a pretty good and quick meal here. The service was good too. I love Pho! I recently moved to Irvine from a city that is abundant with delicious Pho. I am used to eating Pho three times a week because it was inexpensive and convenient to get to. Convenience is a big factor for me and Pho Saigon Pearl is the best pho restaurant near my house compared to Le pho and Phans 55. I usually order their spring rolls, three-color dessert and their classic pho. I've tried a few other things but I wasn't a big fan. Come here if you need to satiate a craving! I had to ask for my own beverage to be refreshed since no one was attentive. The waiter then shows up to take my check but I hadn't even given them my payment yet. I was seriously pissed at this point. I asked for my to go box first then paid. They give me my change with ones. Wtf?! Like I'm gonna tip you well after the poor service I had received. As we left, the effing waiter then somehow got in my older kids way and she almost lands on her face. No apology, so me being pissed, with my huge diaper bag I was an ass hole and I bumped into him on purpose.
