I was willing to pay $5 for a scoop of rice, but apparently she needs to save it for people dining in. doesn't make sense to me to have it in your menu then refuse to sell it. Maybe it's time to modify your menu and add notes that you can't order sides without ordering other shit. Since I'm already typing this up, might as well review their food from our previous visit. When we walked in I noticed several groups of asian guests. I assumed they were Vietnamese so I know I was in the right place. I ordered the combo since my daughter likes the noodles and I like the soup and meat. They provided us with a small additional bowl and fork and spoon. The food came with bean sprouts, jalapeño slices, and fresh basil. We also ordered the fresh shrimp summer rolls which came with peanut sauce. The food at Pho Sing Sing is really delicious and high quality, but the service is horrible. My bf and I shared the shrimp and pork egg rolls, special beef pho, and a vermicelli noodle dish with raw vegetables and grilled pork/fried egg rolls. The shrimp and pork eggrolls tasted fresh. I told the waitress I was allergic to peanuts and asked for fish sauce, and she brought me a small bowl to dip the eggrolls in. The wrapper was chewy and thin, lettuce dark green with a nice crunch, and the shrimp/pork tender and flavorful. The filling was mostly rice vermicelli, but it was balanced with the other ingredients. The XL special beef pho was huge, but mostly consisted of broth. There wasn't any tripe, but there was tendon, beef flank, steak, and meatballs. The meat already came cooked and not slightly raw. The broth wasn't hot, but it was warm enough to be enjoyable and have the extra vegetables (like bean sprouts and basil) become soft. I thought it was flavorful enough to not have to add any hoisin! This restaurant only gets 2 stars from me bc of the service. When I received my vermicelli plate, there were peanuts sprinkled on top of the meat. I said "excuse me" twice to the other server going back to the kitchen, but she didn't seem to hear me. I was going to just pick off the peanuts, but it was too widespread.. So I went to the area next to the kitchen and when someone came up to the window, I said I was allergic to peanuts. The lady looked visibly upset and said they would have to remake it from scratch. I didn't mind having to wait bc my bf shared his pho with me. When I went back to my seat, I heard arguments in the kitchen in Vietnamese. Then the initial waitress stormed out and went to me. She started yelling, "YOU DIDN'T TELL ME YOU HAD A PEANUT ALLERGY. THE PEOPLE INSIDE THE KITCHEN GOT MAD AT ME BECAUSE OF YOU!!!" I told her, "I told you I was allergic to peanuts in the egg roll dipping sauce earlier." Then she responded, "YEAH BUT YOU NEVER TOLD ME ABOUT PEANUTS FOR THE OTHER FOOD!" Then she stormed back inside the kitchen. She came out to refill my water once, but I didn't see her again. I was so taken aback bc no one has ever yelled at me for having a peanut allergy or telling them when I see peanuts on my food. It was very rude and unprofessional service. She and the other server didn't even ask us how was the food or apologize for the incident. Pho Sing Sing lost 2 customers today (my bf and me). Pho in vegas has been a hit and miss lately, ranging from places that were good, but has gone down in flavor, to just down right "what the pho is this" type of deal. I thought I had tried most of the pho places in vegas, but with no way of going more downhill in my hopes than before, I thought, "you can only fail if you don't try." The pho broth was actually good...but as someone else wrote, there may have been a lot of MSG since I was parched soon after, and downing 2 glasses of water during your meal is telling. The egg rolls have that rice paper exterior, which makes for a unique but yummy egg roll. Pho So 1 is the only other place I can think of that uses the same type of paper. More importantly, the interior of the egg roll was amazing. I've gotten quite tired of egg rolls that either aren't crispy enough, over-fried, or just bland. The sauce was a bit strange tasting than what I'm used to (more salty than sweet), but, it was a good run today, and I am gonna say that this place is ranking at the top in the pho broth department compared to a few other places. This place blew me out the water! I did not expect it to be as good as it was. The place itself is straight forward, nothing modern just a casual Vietnamese restaurant with some authentic bomb food. Hear me out, we ordered, banh canh, oxtail pho (special of the day), spring rolls and da chanh aka limeade. Banh canh 5/5- the thickkkkk broth with flavors that bounce out my mouth was so damn good. They didn't skimp on the seafood either. Crazy to say, but this was the best banh canh I've ever had at a restaurant. Tasted just like how my grandma would make it... or kind of better ;) Oxtail pho 5/5- there's something y'all should know if you didn't know already, this is the top tier of all pho, it's quite expensive so not a lot of pho joints carry this all the time. But the pho was fantastic, everything balanced each other out and holy cow, they gave us quite a bit of oxtail too. Spring rolls 5/5- classic. We've had our go to Pho place on Spring Mt for 20 years. IDK if it was the pandemic shut down or what but it's just not good anymore and their prices shot way up. So, we've been checking out other spots. Search over. Sing Sing hits all the check marks. The restaurant is clean and welcoming. Service is friendly and quick. Pho is fantastic! The broth is as good as it gets. Quality ingredients, good portions. Less expensive than our old place. Clean bathrooms. Appears to be family run and it appears to have been in business for a long time. I hope they are there for many many years to come. Can't wait to go back! In my ongoing quest to find good pho in Las Vegas, I've finally found a second success. Pho Sing Sing is located in a pretty large plaza on Jones near Spring Mountain. It shouldn't be overlooked, although I managed to do so for a long time. Perhaps I was put off slightly by the association of the name with a certain correctional facility in New York, but my mom recently cleared up my misconception my informing me that it was also the name of an old restaurant in Vietnam. With other dinner plans in the neighborhood falling through, it was an easy plan B to come here instead. I went straight for the pho dac biet ($8.95). My order came out within a few minutes, which is a good indicator that they have a huge pot of piping hot broth waiting in the back, like any good pho restaurant anywhere should. The bowl was plenty large, and the tray of Thai basil, bean sprouts, sliced jalapeño, and lime wedges was reasonably sized. First taste of the broth definitely made me happy, and a squeeze of lime didn't change my liking of it too much one way or the other. The varied selection of meats, including thinly sliced beef, fatty brisket, and beef meatballs, definitely hit the spot with tenderness and savory flavor, and the noodles weren't anything to complain about. Cilantro and onions, also standard, completed the experience. I'm putting Pho Sing Sing up there with Kinh Do on my list of pho recommendations for Las Vegas, and I have to give it the same rating to indicate that it's also among the best in town. It's definitely worth a visit if you're a homesick California transplant or even if you're a casual eater who mistakenly thinks that Pho Kim Long is any good at the namesake beef noodle soup (hint: it's not). The only minor quibble for me is that it's a few minutes farther from the highway than Kinh Do is, but that probably isn't relevant to all my friends in Summerlin. read more

I met five friends from out of town here for lunch. Pho Sing Sing was chosen based on the Yelp reviews. I ordered the spicy beef satay with rice noodles. The pho broth was good but it didn't live up to its spicy descriptor. I added a fair amount of Sriracha but that only added some spiciness to the dish. I enjoyed the peanuts and sesame in the pho. One of the people in my group said she tasted MSG the rest of the day. I couldn't discern that but she knows better than me. The meats were a bit too fatty compared to most places and I'm not a fan of animal fat. However, the broth was good. It's really tough to pick one over the other so, I had both. Anyway, service here is average. They are nice and promptly delivers the food once it is prepared by the kitchen, just like most other restaurants. The food was just A-OK as well. I have had better and I have had worst. Room for improvements? Yes! But the broken rice plate that I ordered was decent, and I cleaned my plate. Portion was average. Enough for the average diner. What I think can be improved upon (how they prepare the grilled pork on the com tam and bun dishes). One of the things that Leos and I both agreed on during this meal is that there are a lot of Vietnamese restaurants here in Las Vegas. Pho Sing Sing, being a Vietnamese restaurant does an okay job at it. But we both wonder is being just okay enough? Or does a restaurant needs to offer something special that they alone does very well to keep customers coming back for more. That is the $150,000 question. Okay, this is my last pho restaurant review for a while (probably not). But I really enjoyed this location. They only offer one size in the pho so you can't choose whether you want a small or large. I got the rare beef pho and the fresh spring rolls with pork and shrimp. The broth for the pho was delicious even without adding anything extra which I was happy about. Definitely the best I have had so far in terms of flavor. I liked the meat that was in it. It seemed to have a bit more flavor as well which could be contributed to the broth. The spring rolls were good but they do have quite a bit of lettuce in them which can take away from the other Ingredients a little bit. The reason I am not giving 5 stars is because of the service. The server stood and kind of hovered next to the table so I felt rushed to order. They also brought me water and my food and never checked on me again. She didn't even tell me my total, she just swiped my card. It was likely due to a language barrier but they could have at least refilled my water and made sure I was okay at least once and gave me a receipt to look at before I paid. Overall: Excellent food and service. We stopped by on Sat for lunch and the place was basically wide open. We ordered egg rolls, fish cakes, and chicken wings for appetizers. The eggs rolls were great, the chicken wings were nice; crispy and juicy, and the fish cakes were just ok. Entrees included the seafood combo soup, which was outstanding, the steak & beef ball pho and the beef and onions over rice. I added jalapenos and chili paste to spice things up. We don't come here very often but we do like to come here once in a while to get our fix for dishes that no other viet restaurant in town has on their menu. The other dishes that we've tried (that you can find at any other restaurant are ok but nothing special). The GOOD: Lemongrass chicken with rice is the dish that I come here for. Their nuoc mam sauce is a little sweeter than other places but it is very good. My wife gets the bun mam (fermented fish noodle soup). Sounds gross, I know, but this soup is extremely good. Both of these dishes haven't been seen anywhere else in Las Vegas yet. The BAD: Every time we come in and the owners are there (I think husband and wife). He always has this look like he wants to fight you, he looks mean and isn't very friendly at all. The menus are sticky and they have tape over everything with the new prices. Food came out fairly quick. Tea is given in a pot, like a normal chinese restaurant. A lot of viet places tend to give tea in a tall plastic cup. I had ordered the combination pho. Broth was normal? FRIDAY before Palm Sunday and NO MEAT today, so we stopped by nearby and ordered Mi Sau Shrimp and Yellow noodles with fish soup. The menu lists many of my favorites, so I'll just have to come back, I said to myself and try some of these when we are around Sahara. (I wonder if the Lemon Grass Chicken will be to my liking), anticipating a new found restaurant! I must say the soup was so flavorful and the Vietnamese Chop Suey was delicious. 1 star for courteous, 1 star for clean, 1 star for flavor! Amazing life altering Pho. I start with fresh rolls and hot tea which come before the pho. Then I ignore everything when this bowl of soup lands in front of me. The broth is the best I've had in Las Vegas and maybe the United States. The Rare Steak is pink and delicate as it should be. Brisket that pulls apart but is still chewy as intended. The amount of garnish is perfect. Condiments on each table to make the dish as spicy or sweet as one might like but I never use them, not here. I usually add chili flake or sriracha after tasting the broth at a pho place. Chili spice will turn mediocre pho into something good or even great. But here I sip the broth slowly and enjoy the rich bone marrow flavor. read more

I just came off my patrol unit graveyard shift. I have been here before and felt I needed to share this location with yelp. I normally go to the spinal rehabilitation center around the corner for my neck and noticed they where "out to lunch" so I thought I would come over here and grab a bite before the spinal Officer reopens. They had either been refried too many times or had been left in the fryer too long because they were extremely oily. Chicken wings came out last. They were unseasoned except for a drizzle of the sweet chili sauce that you can buy at any Asian grocery store. Very bland dish. Our 3 items cost about $25 total. That's steep for Viet food. Quite possibly the most deliciously authentic Vietnamese food in Vegas. Imagine if you were in the country in Vietnam and a family invited you over for some Sunday dinner comfort food. This place uses real broken rice to deliver the best Com Tam dish ever. Com Tam is a famous comfort food dish in Vietnam and this dish is superb and beyond authentic on every level. It is number 29 on the menu "Com Tam Bi Soun Cha" which consist of the most delicious shredded pork, a perfectly seasoned pork chop, egg meatloaf over fluffy melt in your mouth broken rice. There are so many places here in Vegas that do not know how to cook this dish and use regular steamed rice instead of broken rice. Here at Pho Sing Sing they nail it authentically. Order it, you will not regret it and be in total foodie nirvana. My roommate ordered the number 25 which is the eggrolls and charbroiled chicken vermicelli. It was amazing and such a huge portion. We also ordered the Pho Dac Biet and split it. OH MY GOD it was incredible. The broth sends you straight into flavor heaven without all that MSG ickyness. It is so good!!
