    Beef pho

I decided to try a place I've never been before to avoid a late night croud after a football game. I am glad I took the time to search up and discover Pho Tay Do! Everything was good!! (Apologies for the half eaten beef pho picture lol) Good quality and portion size. I ordered chicken wings on the side and they did not disappoint! Paired with sautéed onions and peppers /other veggies ! Staff was friendly and greeted me promptly with i walked in. I look forward to going back and trying another one of their dishes.

Love the wonton with egg noodle soup. Small venue but good customer service and big portions.

Would come back again. Bun bo hue is missing huyết for those who craves it (blood). It's San Jose so totally understandable to look for those. I'm craving them so much! Chicken wings are crispy. Lots of choice and parking. The bowls are huuuuuuge! Be prepared to eat fully.

Very good spot. The portions are hard to beat, the pho is delicious and the service is great and fast.... And those fried wontons are the best appetizer!!!!

First time coming here! Service was quick. I ordered the Special Combo Pho. I thought the broth was delicious and the portion is very much worth the price that I paid ($17 before tips). It was a very LARGE portion. The meats were good, but I did think the rare meat was a bit gamey. I would prefer more veggies in the pho and they do use the dry noodles at this restaurant! I personally prefer the fresh noodles, but overall, I believe it is some good pho! 7/10.

The food was so good i forgot to take a pic.. Meat was perfectly cooked and tender, soup broth was clean and flavorful, and noodles were the right amount of chewy. Spring rolls were perfect. 10/10

We were craving pho and drove past Pho Tay Do after exiting the highway. We decided to give it a shot and couldn't have enjoyed it more! The service was great and the broth was perfect for the cold weather in December. The menu and seats were clean as well. Would definitely come back

Always passed by here and we decided to just give this place a try instead of going to a place I've been before. It's got plenty of seating inside and outside. The decors make you feel like you are in Vietnam. Service was quick. The fried rice was yummy. Broth it came with we didn't like. Just lacked taste. The pho was great. The soup was flavorful just wish it had more tendon and tripe. I do like you have the options of small or large. Looking forward to trying other menu items.

This spot is one of our got to spots when we don't want to go far from home. Nice & quaint atmosphere inside and they have outside tables too. The food & dishes have always been on point and always hot served with lots of flavor. I have yet to have a dish that was not delicious. The one downside to this place would be the small plastic cups they give customers for water. We are constantly having to ask for refills and when it's busy that can be a bit tricky. On the other hand you can be like me and bring your own H2o. The staff are all pretty polite & helpful, which is always a plus. Bathroom is universal and every time I have came to eat it has always been clean and tidy.

I arrived about 10 minutes prior to my estimated pickup time and the egg rolls (netted and regular) were ready but the Banh Khot were still being cooked. The estimated pickup time on the website was pretty accurate. Everything made the 35 minute journey and stayed crispy!! The regular egg rolls were tasty but nothing special. The netted egg rolls however, I'd come back for. They were crispy all throughout and the filling was well seasoned. The Banh Khot were very crispy with a nice and pleasant chew from the coconut batter. My husband loved the flavor and texture. I wasn't a huge fan of the coconut flavor being so prominent but I know that's a staple of Banh Khot batter. Next time I'd skip the regular egg rolls but I'm happy I tried them!

The hubby and I placed our order & we picked up on a Friday night to bring back home. It was not too busy & they had our food ready pretty immediately. I ordered way too much food, but I was excited to try everything. I would have loved to have had everything fresh & hot, but we live a little ways away, so by the time we got the food home, some things needed a quick reheat. I ordered the pork & shrimp eggrolls, banh khot, pork & shrimp net eggrolls, chicken wings w/ garlic noodles, & the pork spring rolls. Needless to say, we had leftovers - it was a lot of food for just 2 people! I really enjoyed the banh khot & net eggrolls - they were flavorful & I enjoyed the texture of the net eggrolls. I had to save the print rolls for the next day, but I enjoyed them (though, I know they were probably perfect the same day.) I just couldn't make room for all that food. I think the one surprising disappoint for me were the garlic noodles. I expected more of a kick and generally more flavor from the noodles, but they ended up being relatively mild. Don't get me wrong, we still ate it all, but I just expected more umph. All in all, I enjoyed the food & would love to order from here again!

Despite it being in a big lot, parking still took a while to find. Thankfully, we had thankfully just beat the lunch rush and not had to wait longer than 10 minutes for a table. My friend and I shared a Northern spread (Bun Cha Ha Noi) and a Southern style Goat Curry (Banh Mi Cari De). Service was definitely on the slower side that day, but thankfully we were proactive at getting the orders in. The Bun Cha Ha Noi was delicious - pretty much a DIY spring roll - all the fun, all the mess, with none of the clean up other than licking the plates clean. The pork belly was delicious; I was surprised how much I liked it, since I'm not a fan of pork. I devoured numerous rolls, and we also had some extra vermicelli to finish off the rest of the protein. This single meal was definitely more than enough for two! The Banh Mi Cari De (goat curry) was unfortunately quite the opposite. The goat was cooked very well - tough, gamy, and difficult to eat. There were probably six pieces in total, our first was tender, our second had bone, a little harder to chew, and the last was best compared to rubber. The curry was a bit watery, which made the banh mi soggy when dipped in. This was probably an adventurous try, but not a dish I'd ever consider ordering again.

If you can't find parking in that plaza, there's more parking across the road where the Target is. After spending about ten minutes on the written wait-list, our names were called. It's definitely a little easier communicating with much of the staff if you speak Vietnamese, and I find that waiting right outside the restaurant is best because they default to calling your name from the door once it's your turn. The interior is crammed with tables; the atmosphere feels busy and warm. There is a single room women's bathroom and men's bathroom in the back as well. The decor leans toward being classic more than trendy, which I liked. The menu is pretty big, offering a variety of items ranging from mainstream Vietnamese options to ones I don't encounter as often. I recommend eating family-style for many of these dishes, including the Bún Chả Cá Lã Vọng, which I enjoyed with my partner. The prices are pretty average, and their portions are generous. That said, they are cash or Zelle only. There is an ATM that you can use if you forget to bring cash, but this is still something to keep in mind. Overall, I can definitely see myself coming back. I wish I had the stomach capacity to try more of their dishes at once, and I 100% recommend that anyone give this place a shot.

Of course, I had to order all the essentials: banh beo, banh nam, banh loc, banh ram it, and cha. I was especially craving Bun Bo Hue, so that was my main dish, while my friend ordered the Mi Quang. The appetizers were all good and definitely satisfied my craving for Hue-style snacks. Unfortunately, the Bun Bo Hue was disappointing. The broth had a strange flavor and was missing the rich, hearty depth that makes Bun Bo Hue so comforting and memorable. I honestly found it surprising that a restaurant specializing in Hue cuisine would miss the mark on one of its most iconic dishes. Another thing I noticed was that the vermicelli noodles were broken into many small pieces, which made me feel like they weren't particularly fresh. It definitely affected the overall eating experience. Before leaving, I also ordered a banh canh to go. That ended up being really good, though I personally wasn't a fan of the fresh-cut noodles. By the time I got home, they had expanded quite a bit in the broth and became softer than I prefer. Overall, I enjoyed everything except the Bun Bo Hue. The appetizers were solid, the banh canh was tasty, and I'd come back for those items. However, the Bun Bo Hue is one dish I probably won't order again.
