Pho Time is a locally owned Vietnamese fusion restaurant that has been around the neighborhood for almost two decades now. It's located in an internal corner suite of the PB Plaza with updated external signage since the last time I visited. Parking in the shared lot can be difficult when the neighboring businesses are operating during their normal hours. The dining area had enough seating for close to 100 customers, but it was less than half occupied when I came for dinner. I sat at a booth not far from the entrance. The bench seating was a bit awkward because the seat cushion kept raising up if I leaned forward. After perusing the menu booklet, I decided on items that were different than my typical choices of spring rolls, pho, or bun. I started with the Grilled Sugar Cane Shrimp as an appetizer. This was minced shrimp meat cooked on a sugar cane skewer, of which there were a pair on the dish. A sweet chili dipping sauce and some lettuce leaves came with the order. The item was like a shrimp meatball except shaped as an oval. The flavor was good and enhanced by the sauce. I also picked the Garlic Noodles with Shaken Beef. The noodles came on a separate plate while the grilled filet mignon cubes were served on a hot cast iron skillet. Bell peppers and white onions accompanied the meat on the cow-shaped skillet. The cubes were slightly overcooked, but the more concerning aspect was the oil that pooled up on one end of the cast iron. The noodles were cooked without any sauce, just garlic seasoning applied. I don't know if there was some contamination, but I detected an acrid odor versus a pungent garlic flavor. The food was prepared fairly quickly by the kitchen, and both items arrived simultaneously. I liked the appetizer much better than the entree. The worker who served me was pleasant and helpful. I gave a 3.5 star rating for my latest dining experience at Pho Time.

I love this place. Always come here when I need some comfort food. The owners are such cool people and always make you feel special. The recently did an upgrade in the last couple years on the menu and the facility. I always get the chicken pho but the pho overall is great and tasty! Enjoy this place been here for a long time.

Had a delicious meal here. I had chicken pho and the shrimp rolls. Very quite place which made it nice since I went by myself. Also feel the venue is adequate and enjoyable for dates as well. Highly recommend. The servers are the kindest people I have met too. You will not ve disappointed.

The bun cha Hanoi here is consistently delicious with the fresh grill meat and smokey chard flavors paired with a bouncy vermicelli and soft banh hoi makes this dish superb. Everything paired perfectly to make the perfect dish every-time. Service is efficient and kind like always and the ambiance is refreshing with their high ceilings and open decor gives you room to stretch out and enjoy your meal. The owner smiles is very contagious her upbeat attitude just makes the start of the day that much better.

This is perhaps a very unassuming place but honest in its food. Cafe like atmosphere adds to its eclectic charm. We've been going here for many years and they've never let us down for their range of pho bowls. Although pho is their main staple they have a great menu. We've had several of their dishes over the years and always order their curry served with an awesome loaf of bread. Great place whether you want soup or a full meal. The family run restaurant means service is just awesome and they truly demonstrate, they care! Also, one of the few places that serve dark chicken meat in their curry if you prefer it to white meat.

Firstly, there is a designated parking lot which makes dining here so convenient. Service was attentive and friendly! I tried the Tim's House pho and the filet mignon shaking beef hot plate with garlic noodles. The pho was jam packed with meat which I appreciated! The broth was also very flavorful and dank, a touch on the sweeter side for me. Really enjoyed the pho that felt very nourishing. The filet mignon shaking beef came hot and sizzling, where the smell of garlic was irresistible!! The beef was perfectly cooked where it was tender and not dry. It was super flavorful and loved the onions and the bell peppers which were the perfect complement. I loved that the garlic noodles were loaded with garlic as it should be!!! I would definitely come back for both dishes but some other authentic Vietnamese dishes I'm eager to try since their flavors were on point for both my dishes!

I came here for the first time around 8pm and was seated right away. I got an order of egg rolls and house pho. Everything was delicious. Service was ok. I had to ask for more water and waited for my bill for a while. I'd come back though.

My bestie took me here and oh my god! The pho was spectacular! Absolutely the service was outstanding, the food was EPIC! I went with the filet mignon and shrimp pho. The shrimp was very fresh and very big! Love it!

Food! 10! Service! 10! Ambience! 10! We're both looking for something on a nice Saturday afternoon while we were in San Diego and came across this location. It was close by our hotel Paradise point so we decided to stop in and we were both very happy. Right when we walked in, the restaurant was very clean with lots of seatings and very open and airy. Decor was nicely done with lots of paintings and the BF even said there was some paintings in the men's restroom. We both love art, so this was a plus for us to dine and was able to admire all the beautiful pieces. We ordered pho and the fried rice with ribeye, omg the broth was perfect and so was the fried rice, ribeye was cooked medium rare and tasted oh so delicious. We also ordered the lychee and coconut coffee, both were amazing! Restaurant is in a large plaza so plenty of parking spaces. When we come back to SD, we definitely will be back. Did I mention service was 100% great here.

I've finally ventured out of southeast San Diego for some pho, and although I thought nothing would compare, this spot killed it! I always have to test the broth first, and they passed with flying colors. They incorporate wagyu into a few of their dishes and it's worth it. It's melt-in-your-mouth good! Everything tastes super fresh. And huge shoutout to their drinks!! I would come back just for their drinks. The coconut matcha was my favorite, and I'm not even a matcha person like that. Their fruit teas are great, refreshing options. I like that you can actually taste the tea over the fruit flavors. Highly recommend!

My friend wanted to try the famous sizzling filet mignon steak plate, but I was glad to see plenty of other great options here too. Here's my experience: AMBIANCE: Parking: Plaza parking--no real issues, even at lunchtime. Seating: Comfortable inside seating, good for pairs, mid-sized groups, or even larger gatherings. Vibes: Welcome to the inner parts of Pacific Beach. You won't see the ocean from here, but you're still in the neighborhood. The spot itself is inviting, with art and décor highlighting Hanoi culture. Lite rock played in the background, which kept the lunch flow easy and relaxed. Overall, it feels like a great place for a casual food adventure--solo or with friends. FOOD/DRINKS: Coconut Matcha (Recommend) Beautifully presented. Earthy matcha paired with tropical coconut sweetness makes for a smooth, refreshing drink--perfect on a hot day. Rice Vermicelli - Grilled Pork (Recommend) A fulfilling bowl that hits the essential Vietnamese flavor notes. The pork was marinated in lemongrass, garlic, fish sauce, and sugar--sweet, savory, and umami all at once. Fresh herbs (mint, basil, cilantro) and cucumber added brightness and kept it light. CUSTOMER SERVICE: Friendly staff who kept things moving smoothly--our orders came out quickly and with a smile. TL; DR OVERALL: 4 Stars. Awesome! Good food, fair prices, and a pleasant experience. Sure, you can find incredible Vietnamese food in Normal Heights or Chula Vista, but this spot definitely holds it down in Pacific Beach. I'm curious to come back for more drinks and dishes. Cảm ơn (thank you)! #RepresentAZN TIPS: * Too many good choices--bring a friend so you can share and sample more dishes!

I was actually pretty impressed at how good the food was. Being Vietnamese I'm pretty selective on the quality of Vietnamese dishes. This spot had a good selection of items to choose from. Service and staff were amazing! They truly care about the quality of food and service. I can definitely tell by the joy on their faces. Ambiance is so chill and nice. Interior is beautiful and bright with the high ceilings. Located in a shopping plaza with plenty of parking. I ordered the woven vermicelli with shrimp sugarcane. My family ordered the bun cha Ha Noi and loved it. It was overall a solid and satisfying meal. Presentation is wonderful. I would totally come back here and recommend others.

You seat yourself, walk to the counter to order, pay before you even sit down, get your own water, and clean your own table when you're finished. The only real "service" is someone walking your food from the kitchen to the table. Yet before you've received your food or experienced any service whatsoever, the payment screen has the nerve to ask for a 15% to 20% tip. A tip for what exactly? My outstanding performance as my own waiter and busser? I counted roughly seven employees: two working the counter, one bringing out food, one near the water station, possibly two cooks, and maybe one dishwasher. If the restaurant collects thousands in prepaid tips during a busy breakfast and lunch, is all that money actually being divided among those employees? There's absolutely no transparency. It honestly feels less like tipping the staff and more like tipping the owner. If the restaurant needs 15% to 20% more revenue, just raise the menu prices by that amount and be honest about it. Don't advertise one price, provide almost no table service, and then guilt customers into adding another 15% to 20% before they've even taken a bite. Food: okay. Service: mostly provided by me. Suggested tip: apparently still 15% to 20%. Update, the manager sent me a response that I should be happy someone happily took my order. Wow, the expectations at this place is off the chart low. I sent him a response below. It's honestly wild that I'm supposed to be "glad" someone took my order politely, answered a question, and showed me where to tap my card. That is basic counter service, not some extraordinary full-service dining experience deserving 15 to 20 percent of the entire bill. And comparing your tip prompt to Costco asking for a charitable donation might be the dumbest comparison possible. Costco asks whether you'd like to donate a few dollars to charity. They don't suggest handing over 15 to 20 percent of your grocery bill because the cashier smiled and showed you where to insert your card. And just because tip screens are popping up everywhere doesn't make them right. This is the first restaurant I've eaten at where you order and pay at the counter, tip before receiving any service, get your own water, and then clear your own table. Your setup is not the norm. If I took ten people there for lunch and explained the system beforehand, they'd laugh me out of the parking lot. In fact, I posted about your setup on Facebook, and practically every comment agreed it was ridiculous. I tagged you guys btw. Let's recap: I stood in line to order, paid and tipped before eating, got my own water, and cleared my own table. At some point I apparently worked a shift there. Where do I pick up my paycheck? That snide remark backfired quite a bit, don't you think?

Which, I am sure they do for everyone. Which is why the consistency and dedication to their service is so commendable. Top tier from the host, our waiter and some sweet lady wearing nice clothes who spoke with us and provided us with refills. Focaccia Bread - 8.6 Good, hot and fresh. It could have used more herbs and texture on the outside. The bread was good quality and tasted as such. The star though is the balsamic vinegar that it comes with. The balsamic is delicious and tasted like it was high quality. Seared Beef Filet Tataki - 9.2 I haven't had many chilled beef dishes however, this is the best one. The beef was very tender and flavorful. It was cooked to a medium/medium rare. The soy jus the beef was sitting in was really flavorful and delicious. The seasonal citrus was also fresh and very delicious. I would encourage anyone to try this dish at Wolf, especially if you want to try something chilled that typically is served hot. Sweet Corn Soup - 9.9 Yes, a 9.9. I'm not sure soup can get much better. Every aspect and component of this dish is excellent. The depth of the flavor of the corn, the texture and items which accompany the soup are all great. The corn fritters are moist, flavorful and soak up some of the soup. The chile dust adds great seasoning and flavor while the pine nuts add texture. If I were to rank the best 25 bites of good or dishes I ever had, this would probably be top 10-15. Even if you aren't a fan of corn, get this, it'll change your mind. Kolibri Salad - 8.9 The salad contained blue cheese, dried apricots, shaved multicolored carrots, bread crumbs and a mustard vinaigrette. All of the aspects of the salad were very good and played off one another very well. I always say the best salad contain a creamy cheese, fresh fruit (not blueberries or strawberries), nuts and a good vinaigrette. The blue cheese was really creamy and probably the best blue cheese we have had. The mustard vinaigrette was good and paired well with all of the ingredients. Patatas Bravas - 8.2 The potatoes were good but not great. The potatoes were tender but too big imo. If they were cut into smaller pieces they would have better texture post cook. The aioli served with the potatoes was really, really good. I wish I had a jar of it. Skillet Mini Burger - 8.8 You could tell the beef was very high quality and it was cooked to a perfect medium. The beef was very flavorful and juicy. The hatch chile crema was delicious as well. If I had one bad thing to say about this burger it would be that it was hatch chile overload. If the burger just contained the hatch chile crema it would have been perfect. However, they also put cooked down hatch chiles on the burger. It was a bit too much chile and I wanted the beef and white cheddar to shine a little bit more.

My friends had really wanted to have a cute experience and have delicious food, so when I suggested Blue Ocean/Harumama they were all in. I've been to the Harumama in Little Italy but thought that the La Jolla location would be a better option because of the views. They don't offer reservations, but the Saturday we came they had plenty of seating. You can request to be sat by the window but the wait time was almost an hour and half long. Our server was great, super sweet and really wanted to make sure we had a good time. For food, we ordered karraage, takoyaki and garlic edamame to start. The karraage was so tender and crispy and the flavor of the chicken was great. This was my first time having takoyaki and it was pretty good and the garlic edamame was perfect it had so much garlic I was really happy. For sushi, we ordered a regular spicy tuna roll, Chef's Special Roll (shrimp tempura, krab, avocado and topped with spicy tuna) and the dynamite roll (deep fried California roll with baked langoustine on top). We decided to wait about 25 minutes for a window table, and I'm SO glad we did! The view was beautiful and really added to the experience. Parking in this area can be tricky since there are so many popular restaurants nearby and you're right by the beach. It's mostly street parking, but we ended up parking in the garage next to Duke's. It was $35 , but from there it was just a short walk to the restaurant. The restaurant has a really nice ambiance, and our waitress was great. I chose Blue Ocean/Harumama because I love ramen, but we were eating with our kids and I wanted somewhere that had plenty of options for them too. It ended up being a great choice for our family. I ordered the Flying Pig ramen, my husband got the Power Protein Poke, one daughter got the Crispy Chickie, and the other got a California Roll. My ramen was okay--not bad, just not my favorite ramen--but everyone else really enjoyed their meals. I tried some of the Crispy Chickie and it was really tasty! We also had to get one of the character buns . We ordered the Bunny Bun with Nutella and the girls loved it. We finished with the churros and chocolate sauce, which were delicious! One of my favorite parts about coming here was the location. After dinner we walked over to La Jolla Cove, watched the sunset and saw the seals. Everything was within walking distance, so it made dinner feel like part of a whole evening out rather than just going to a restaurant.
