I saw their sign after visiting a friend in Richardson today, I ordered a couple of the sandwiches to go. While waiting, I conversed with Jung, the daughter of the owners. She actually moved from Corpus to help build this restaurant. I love that! So, I got home and split the two sandwiches so my GF and I could sample both. Wow! We had a great experience at Pho Truong. The service was friendly. We were instantly greeted, and were told to sit wherever we wanted. the restaurant was very clean and low key. We started off with the shrimp and pork spring rolls. The were really tasty, and came with a side of peanut dipping sauce. I ordered the chicken curry pho, with a mix of white and dark meat. The broth was flavorful without being overbearing. It only comes in a large size, but the chicken to noodle ratio was good, and was filling. My hubby had pho with beef and meatballs. The meatballs were really delicious, and I really liked his broth..maybe a little more than mine. Average prices were about 3.25 for appetizers, and $9-12 for Pho. We have already said that we will return to try other items on the menu. read more

Best banh mis! My experience with banh mis is largely for those that I make that my Vietnamese friend taught me her mom's recipe. These are better then mine. I stop in early on a Saturday, ordered a couple of banh mis to go. They clearly made them fresh but they were still ready in less than 10 minutes. They both were really good, but the pork really stood out as amazing. Great bread, and loved the large pickled veggies, giving good crunch. The restaurant has a good simple vibe. This is my favorite place for pho in Dallas. They give very generous portions and their extra large portion size is no joke. I eat a lot and I was barely able to finish mine when I ordered the first time. I stick with the large size one now. Their crispy pork eggrolls are also scrumptious. The restaurant is clean and the staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. My girlfriend was sick the last 2 times we went and our waiter went out of his way to help her. I'm pretty picky about Pho. Maybe a little snobby. And now this place knows me by name and order. That's also probably because they've got good service (in context of the price I'm paying which is usually $10 including tip). At any pho restaurant, I always order a small bowl of pho with the works - tendon, slank, tripe, meatballs, all of it - so that's what I order here. The most important part of pho is the broth, and this place has some of the most flavorful broth I've tasted since traveling to Vietnam. The meatballs are like tiny meatsplosions of deliciousness. This place is close to the UTD campus, so it offers free wifi for students who want to eat and get their study on (ME!). The owners and workers are incredibly sweet and attentive, I've never had an empty glass of water. I always get one of the vermicelli bowls with grilled pork because their pork is simply to die for and honestly my favorite out of the places I've tried in the Dallas area. I also love that they have a vegetarian menu! Their tofu is pretty good, which is important, and their fried rice is enough for two meals. I ended up ordering something I've never had before. The curry pho with mixed dark meat chicken. Flavor was excellent, I had to ask for extra bean sprouts but they happily accommodated. The three most important things for me when I go to a restaurant is food, service, and price. The food was okay. We ordered the egg rolls and Pho special and Iced coffee. When the pho came out, it was kinda plain for me. I think the chef overcooked the pho noodles because it was too soft. The egg rolls came out crispy and hot, and tasted really good. Service is great. I never been to a Vietnamese restaurant that has service like this one. Compared to other Vietnamese restaurant, this place has the best service. Price is okay. It's a reasonable price. So far, the rice dishes are good. Decent size for what you paid. The restaurant is very clean and surprisingly your clothes don't smell like Pho when you walk out of there. Every single pho restaurant I had been to made my clothes smell and I just hated it. The grilled chicken rice dish was really good; tender and juicy. The grilled beef rice dish was very good as well. You can tell the meat just came out from the grill not like some restaurants refried the meat after they have been sitting off the grill for sometime. I liked their crispy fried egg rolls because they have the same taste like how my mom made them. The fish sauce is made just right. Not too bland or not too salty. Excellent food and cheap. A word of warning -- the pho portions are pretty dang huge. Their larges aren't like some other local viet places' larges, where "large" really means "standard." These larges come with sizeable portions of noodles and meat. The broth is nicely balanced and smells of cinnamon, which I thought was kinda weird until I tasted it. Service is great, friendly, attentive without overdoing it, and on top of that there is WiFi. Not to mention, the prices are super low. Let me start off and just say I LOVE eating pho. I eat it about 3 times a week. However, this place has got to be the worst pho place I've ever been to. I ordered the generic beef pho thinking surely you can't go wrong with that... but I WAS WRONG. The broth was bland and wayyy too minty. I'm sure I could see the surface line separating the spices and water in the broth. AND for a size large, the portion was still way below average. As for the environment, I'm positive I saw an employee pick up a dead roach from the ground with a napkin and didn't even wash her hands before serving our dishes. I was impressed by the cleanliness of the restaurant! It is very modern inside and the staff is very well mannered. The food is great AUTHENTIC Vietnamese with the feel of a modern restaurant but still has the authenticity to it. I tried the Pork Spring Rolls as an appetizer and it was fresh and great tasting. I had the Bun Bo Hue as the entree and it was definitely one of my favorites. My girlfriend had the Pho and I thought it was great as well. You betcha I'm not coming back here again. This was the first time I've ever complained in a restaurant, as usually I just shut up and pay. But with this one I couldn't be patient. I ordered a beef plate and was given a clump of overcooked and burnt meat that tasted bitter, oily, and was unusually dark. The friends I came with also tried a piece and agreed. After some debating, I decided to complain to the manager about the food, but I was promptly interrupted when she said she would not listen since we already tried the food. We had taken one bite each. The manager went on to say that her food is always well prepared and there should be no reason for us to complain. Yet as an avid fan of Vietnamese cuisine, I was sure the food here was the worst I've had. No authenticity either. However without any choice, I paid and left without finishing the food.
