Offerings: salads, vermicelli, rice plates, pho, noodle soups, pho ga, specialities, garlic noodles, drinks.. Drink: hot Vietnamese coffee, no milk, sugar (5.75) -very strong, bold taste. Had unexpected sweet taste. Wanted to check out this new Pho spot and we are pleased with our choice! The pho broth was really tasty. The filet mignon pho is fantastic with a little chili oil added in. The garden rolls were nicely refreshing. Tasty freshly squeezed lemonade and iced tea. The service was great, it only took us a few minutes to get our drinks and just a few more for our pho and tofu rolls. The place is very clean and new feeling. 12 tables are inside half and half split between two tops and 4 tops. One large TV and some minimalist art on the walls. Will certainly come back! read more

4.7/5 Wow wow wow. This is hands down the best Vietnamese food I've found in contra costa county! The portions are extremely generous, service was attentive (though we were only the second party in the restaurant), and the flavors of the food were so aromatic and fragrant. Stiff competition for Pho supremacy here at Contra Costa boulevard. With Pho Viet being introduced to us by my sister-in-law, there are now 3 Pho restaurants that I can recall within just a few spitting distance form each other. No Beef Stew in their menu if I can remember, so I opted to get their Garlic Noodles with Beef. The rest of our party got the usual combination Pho, Spring Rolls, and some chose what it seems to be Pho Viet's flagship, Bun Bo Hue. Service was pretty quick. The Spring Rolls were good and proper. The Pho had a good soup flavor. And that goes the same with the Bun Bo Hue. But where's the ham hocks? In lieu of the hocks where some pork belly I think. Bun Bo Hue is not particularly of my choosing, but if it were I would be disappointed if ham hocks where non-existent. I know my wife was. The garlic noodle was just okay: it lacks the gut-punching pungent 'ness of other restaurants. I commend them though for their chili oil, it sure does have a kick that I have to dial down the serving a bit. Pho game along Contra Costa blvd is pretty competitive. Friendly and quick service. We ordered: 1) fried rolls - 5/5. Fresh from fryer with lots of flavor and textures; 2) grilled chicken salad 4.5/5. Big salad with all the usual veggies and alot of grilled chicken breast. Only issue dressing alittle mild for my tastes; 3) grilled pork salad - 5/5. Same as chicken salad; 4) 5 spice chicken w garlic noodles - 4/5. Couldnt taste the 5 spice on yhe chicken or the garlic on the noodles but both were well cooked and pretty when served; 5) viet. Iced coffee 4/5. Like the taste not too sweet and the whippedbfroth was nice. But between the ice and the froth was about 4 sips of drink. Wishes: there was no fish sauce or garlic chili paste on tables. Really wish they had both. It's hard to find good Bun Bo Hue in the Walnut Cree/ Pleasant Hill/ Concord area so I came to Pho Viet upon seeing great BBH recommendation for this place, and it did not disappoint. Between the 2 of us, we ordered: 1.) Chicken Rice dish: Flavors of the chicken was good, cooked perfectly with crispy skin. Upon ordering, we were asked if we want plain rice or tomato rice (and we picked tomato rice), but was not told that tomato rice is +$1.50. This was annoying and we of course paid without arguing. 2.) Bun Bo Hue: Upon Yelpers' recommendation, I really cane for the BBH. Perhaps I had high expectation , I found the bowl of BBH was just good. The soup base is flavorful and the BBH had all the ingredients that other places lack (e.g. pork blood, slice of pork knuckle, and the beef slices were fresh and of high quality). I also like how they put the hot sauce on the side do that you can adjust the spiciness to your liking. The restaurant was brand new, very clean and roomy, and the service was very nice and attentive & friendly. Overall a great pho experience and we will be back! read more

Good experience overall. The pho was pretty good, but it was missing a salty ingredient. It tasted like soup broth with mostly base and little salt. The bun Bo hue was bland. I have always finished an entire bowl of pho in one sitting...until today. I ordered the Pho special as I was attracted to the huge rib bone. The rib I finished no problem. The soup is souper flavorful. The quality of meat cuts is one of the best if not the best, and I've eaten a fair share of pho in my life. Normally, at other pho places when you order an extra large bowl, it comes in a huge bowl of broth, moderate amount of noodles but not very much meat. This place, not only do you get a huge bowl of broth, you also get tons of noodles ( perfect texture and firmness), and tons of beef of all cuts. They didn't skimp on their special - it feels like two normal bowls at other establishments. We also ordered an egg roll. It's super crispy with pork, shrimp, and chicken. Really good. My wife got the Five spice chicken with garlic noodles. Now upon first visual inspection, the noodles didn't look the best. It looks like used the wrong type of noodles for this dish. However, when we tasted it, it was really good with fresh garlic and aromas providing a good balance. My wife and I both want to come back and try their other dishes. Mark Twain once said that the coldest winter he spent was a summer in San Francisco. Well the coldest spring I've felt is one in Concord. Chilled to the bone, I needed hot and filling soup stat. Pho Viet did just the trick. Located next to a Safeway in a strip mall, it doesn't look like much from the outside but the clean and sparkling interior beckons. I got the signature Bo Bun Hue soup. Just the right amount of spice and flavor. The lemon grass shines. The meats are not meats I'd usually eat but added tremendously to the dish. The veggies were freshly and crackled. Mmmm mmmm mmm. I was hot and full by the end. Wow. My eating companion got the BBQ shrimp on vermicelli. If I didn't need a hot dish I would've stolen her food. Her shrimp was perfectly grilled with overtones of a pad thai type peanut flavoring. Yum. Reasonably priced and very attentive staff. Happy families and groups chowed down next to us. What an amazing addition to Pleasant Hill! First off, the service is wonderful. The man (whom I am assuming is the owner) is so nice/sweet. Great spot for a cold day in Pleasant Hill, I came by here on my own after looking at homes to purchase, because for the last three months I've had a super craving for pho and some viet food. Today I ordered takeout through DoorDash and all is good but they forgot to add the sriracha and the dark sauce. This has been our go-to place for a few months. Their pho is solid, as good as any in the area. Even better? Their beef cubes with rice. However, after months of eating it, today what we got was totally different. It looked different -- pale. The meat tasted very different, much worse. And the gravy was different. When we asked the server, she said no, nothing's changed! We're regulars here because we know how things taste! That cannot be the answer. First time ordering from Pho Viet tonight. (Previously ordered from Kevin's Noodle House for 5 years, but something has changed and their pork chops are no longer moist and flavorful -- which is the only item my mother wants). She was very happy with Pho Viet's rice and pork chop plate. She said the rice is similar to Three Ladies jasmine rice which is her favorite rice. The pork chop portion is quite generous and she ate half of it without trying. Loved it! My son had the garlic noodles with chicken and enjoyed it very much. Garlic noodle option is a win for him -- he much prefers it over rice or plain vermicilli. Looks like Pho Viet will be our go-to Vietnamese restaurant now. read more

Good good. Friendly service. Brand new restaurant with very clean facilities. I like it. I have been here about 4-5 times since they opened. It's probably one of the best Vietnamese restaurants in the area. How does it compare to San Jose restaurants? It doesn't. My favorite here is the bun bo hue. I always ask for extra shrimp paste and sate sauce on the side because the soup is good, but lacks that extra oomph! I will probably bring my own Birds Eye chili next time too, it's just. It spicy enough for me. The pork chops and rice is good. Shrimp rolls and pho were decent as well. Again, if I wanted 10/10 Viet food, I'd drive to San Jose. May have gone a little over the top ordering at Pho Viet.... But I couldn't resist and stellar leftovers! We wanted to try everything and see if it lived up to what we had in Vietnam. HUGE portions at reasonable prices and fast!!! Started with the fresh shrimp rolls and the crispy spring rolls. The fresh shrimp were light and fresh. The crispy rolls hot, crispy, and stuffed with goodness- my only wish is they had more lettuce leaves on the plate to wrap the spring rolls the traditional way! The garlic noodles were simple and comforting. The grilled pork over vermicelli was tender and flavorful. The stars were the Bun Bo Hue- a spicy beef and pork noodle soup with real pork blood, the traditional way. Pho Viet recently opened in the Pleasant Hill Plaza near Safeway and replaces Thai Osha. The restaurant is small and cozy and very casual. I'm always looking for a great Vietnamese restaurant and this place was pretty tasty. My husband and I weren't in the mood for pho though. We wanted to try their vermicelli and garlic noodle dishes. For an appetizer, we chose the Shrimp Rolls. They were made fresh. The wrapper was slightly chewy and delicate adorned with big shrimp. It came with the classic peanut sauce for dipping. I've been loving Vietnamese iced coffee lately so I was excited to order it from here. Although it had that traditional deep, dark roast taste, there was very little of it. My glass was mainly ice. I finished it in a few sips which was disappointing. The Thai Iced Tea was good. It was just the right amount of sweetness so you could still taste the tea and not all sugar. I chose the Grilled Beef with Garlic Noodle. The beef was super tender and well seasoned. The marinade is fantastic! I was hoping it would come with egg noodles but they serve it with fettuccine. The garlicky flavor was there but the texture wasn't. The Vermicelli with Grilled Pork was great. Although the grilled pork is cut thin, it wasn't dry. You know how if something is cut too thin it ends up being dry and overcooked? Well this pork was prepared perfectly. Again, the seasoning and marinade was spot on. I live completely out of the way for this restaurant but love to make the trip because their pho is so delicious. I have tried their rare steak beef pho and it's one of my favorites in the east bay. The meat is high quality, noodles are perfectly soft, and the broth is super flavorful. I think their appetizers are a bit over priced. Service here is great and parking is easy. We came here based on the reviews and FB hype. The place was crowded for our lunch visit and there were a couple large parties. We received a quick greeting and seated quickly. We should have ordered pho at a pho restaurant but we ordered the shaking beef and won ton egg noodle soup. Bowls of pho came out that looked great. Our order too a bit longer and the staff apologized several times. The won ton soup was underwhelming... needed more spice in the chicken broth as it was bland. The won tons weren't bad. The shaking beef was really tasty with a lot of flavor. I think they were understaffed and had trouble with two large parties. Place was very clean, cleaner than most Vietnamese restaurants I've been to. It's hard to find good asian food around this area but we were pleasantly surprised. The portions were great! The pho actually was tasty, nice broth. I ordered the pork chop rice plates and it was delicious! Great presentation as well. I would say the service was good, the guy was really accommodating when I decided to switch my items a minute after I ordered. We will definitely drop by again and try different items.
