My friends ordered Pho, and while I was also tempted, I decided to order the Pad See Ew and some Jasmine tea, both which were divine. I added beef to the Pad See Ew, which is always a solid choice and this place did not disappoint. The flat rice noodle was cooked well and the sauce was amazing. The veggies were also cooked just right and so the whole food experience was very pleasant. My friends and I also enjoyed Jasmine tea throughout our meal, which was great. Went back on a chilly day after I felt a head cold and throat virus coming on. Normally a bowl of Pho knocks back these symptoms and I am on the mend the next day. This time when I got the vegetarian Pho I found it so overly endowed with noodles that the broth was lost. The broth flavor was barely there. The bokchoy, mushrooms, and tofu were wan while the bean sprouts had seen better days (a week ago?) The bowl was off balance. I was badly let down...and didn't even feel better. For a local small joint, they have spotty service: my table hadn't been wiped down. One gets the sense of lackluster performance. Nothing that would win my loyalty. Not even a characterful proprietor. Rather bla! Times like these I wish I were back in northern Virginia where there are dozens of small Vietnamese Pho shops (and ones I patronized on repeat for years) that prepare outstanding bowls of steaming broth with distinct flavor. I used to think LA's large Asian community would have even more good quality Pho, but I feel that the ethnic offerings here can be tired and unexceptional, as if the kitchen is not putting much effort into showcasing their cuisine. I'll come back because the Khao Soi here is supposed to be good and I'm in walking distance. The standard for a vegetarian Pho still belongs to the sole Pho shop on Main Street in El Segundo, CA. Gardena's hit and miss offerings are too much carbon to blow to seek out a bowl of Pho. And I'm not a hypocrite like Harry and Megan with their private jets. read more

I ordered the chicken Pho, and while the chicken itself was pretty bland, the broth and all the Pho fixings that go with a Pho made it very tasty. To be honest, I've stayed away from them in the past because I wasn't sure what to make of a restaurant that had pho/Vietnamese and a full Thai menu. Well, let me tell you folks. Eat here. You'll thank me. I got the Tom Yum Noodle Soup (Authentic Sukhothai Style), Tofu Khao Soi (Soft Tofu) Northern Thai Curry, and a 5 piece Shrimp Fresh Spring Rolls appetizer. Here are all of my positive impressions in one long train of thought: huge portions (probably the biggest take out soup portion I've seen during the Covid era, whether it be pho, ramen, or otherwise); super super unique tom yum soup that's mild but bursting with sweet and sour flavor all at once and isn't anything like the Tom Yum you've had at any other Thai restaurant; a ton of ingredients in the Tom Yum Noodle Soup (including some unexpected surprises--strips of chewy pork skin?!) helped ensure that every bite was an adventure. The spring rolls are so fresh and they followed my special instructions (no cucumbers). The sauce is much thicker than other dipping sauces I've seen for rolls, and they give you two big containers of sauce! The food is prepared fast. I'm so used to being disappointed at restaurants these days that take an hour to prepare the food before handing it to a driver, so when a restaurant like this is able whip up an order quickly and get the driver on their way, that's a huge plus! We haven't even eaten the curry yet, but I couldn't wait to write this 5 star review, haha. The food was very well packaged for transport--there wasn't a single ingredient or drop off liquid out of place upon arrival. They even took time to pack things like the crispy wonton strips, lime, pickled veggies etc... in separate boxes or containers. I'm definitely coming back! The place was charming and service quite great. Food was my sticking point here the options were quite varied but everything was too sweet for my taste and I really hate when small shops go this route. This review is based on take out order only. What drew me to try this restaurant is the availability of Khao Soi, which did not disappoint. Everything was packaged individually. The pickled vegetables and crunchies were separated, which I appreciate. Of course, the broth and noodles were separate too. Flavor was on point, and they were generous with the broth and protein, tofu in my case. Hubby ordered the Combination Fried Rice which comes with chicken, shrimp and beef . Taste was pretty good. Again, the box was packed to the max, and it was very heavy. Hubby was only able to finish half. The Crab Crispy Fried Eggrolls were excellent. We finished them all in the car before arriving home. Very efficient and packed well for takeout during COVID. They even staple their brown bags to make sure it's sealed and doesn't get tampered if it were to be for delivery. Their pho broth is clean and not too sallty. Tripe is clean and cooked properly. Even ordering an extra side of broth it's almost as much as you get for a regular bowl of pho.
