It's right in front of Walmart so I have come here often because I just love pho. Their broth isn't as flavorful as other pho places and personally I like it when pho places put rock sugar into their pho broth to add sweetness to it. Their bean sprouts,mint, and lime are consistently not freshest but it is edible. I've never had stomach problems so it's probably okay it just looks unappealing . We came to a bright and clean Mom and Pop shop where our view of pho and Vietnamese food has forever changed. We're from southwest Houston and NOTHING has topped Pho Win. I had a small P3 which was brisket and tendon AND OH MY GOODNESS, the tendon was amazing and fell off my chopsticks. This is my absolute favorite pho restaurant in San Antonio. 5+/5 The service is great and efficient, never a wait, and everyone is nice and accommodating. The pork summer rolls and the fried spring rolls are both amazing appetizers, and I'm confident that any appetizer and anything from this restaurant is great. As far as entree, I have only gotten the pho from here, and I must say the pork pho is the absolute best. It comes with the pork on the side, which is marinated and grilled so well. It's very delicious. Another plus - if you takeout the pho, you have the option to get larger pho sizes than the regular size, which I know some pho restaurants won't let you takeout any larger pho sizes. For starters: you can taste the sugar from the first broth sip. Making the broth hella sweet. Two, what kind of place named pho win, fxcks up the pho noodles this bad? Should probably rename the restaurant at this point. Either these noodles were cooked like two days ago and put in the fridge or They're just bad and now I'm about three bites of disbelief in and hoping my stomach won't start expelling before my 30 min drive back. My son and I were craving Bahn Mi sandwiches and saw some pretty decent reviews on this place. Drove here from the northeast side and we're not disappointed. The pork and beef sandwiches were quite good. Wife wanted a grilled chicken bun with lemongrass, but mildly spicy. It was good, but still to spicy for her, but I enjoyed it. The Vietnamese veggie rolls and spring rolls were quite tasty and the sauce for the veggie rolls was a pleasant surprise - quite good. Hadn't had anything like it elsewhere. The Taro smoothie is something you should not miss. We took it to go and the service was quite quick with very friendly staff taking care of us. Like most good Vietnamese restaurants that I have gone to over the years, it's like eating at someone's dining room. Though late in the evening, there were quite a few groups eating there. Just as important as the meal is the ability to visit with friends while sharing a meal. This relaxed dining room makes that effortless. Folks could easily carry on conversations without noise from other tables. Great place to get together to enjoy good food (quite a selection of different dishes) and be able to enjoy the company of friends and family. This is the second time I have been here and both times were amazing. Pho the first time and today I had the Mi Xo Don. I know I didn't spell that right but if you ask for the 'bird nest' they will know what you mean. All sorts of fresh veggies, meat on a bed of what I call crispy chow mein noodles. The right amount of sauce seeps down to the noodles so that they have softened up by the time you have finished the veggies. OMG...so good! I thought I had found better at another restaurant but this is by far the best. The restaurant is very clean, the food comes out piping hot, restroom is spotless and I watched him wipe down each bottle of condiments and the menus. Wish they were closer to my side of town but then again maybe not such a good idea as I would be there everyday! Give this place a try! You won't be disappointed. read more

So good! I've been back a few times, and it seems a lil more expensive than the usual pho place but not outrageous, and totally worth it. I've had the pho, pad Thai, and grilled pork bun and all were very delicious. Every dish seems thought out and knows when to be subtle, when to be delicate, and when to turn up the flavor. They let you choose your spice level on some dishes and I've overheard one of the staff seem to get overjoyed when people say "I really like it spicy!" Which makes me think his seemingly innocent and friendly banter amongst the guests is really just a hunt for his next victim. I decided a spice level of 2 out of 5 would be safe enough. Which it was! Ok so as someone that is Vietnamese I rarely ever go into other Pho shops out of fear of MSG. I can smell it in the air when it's used. I saw the reviews of this place and on our way into town late at night it was one of the few places still open so I called in to take out. I actually enjoyed this place and they have either very little to no msg in their food. If you order the Pho Dac Biet it's huge, but you can order a small bowl as well. We arrived about 5 minutes after calling in and they already had our order taken care of and it wasn't super expensive. Would highly recommend this place! read more

Everything we've had from our first visit 5 months ago until now, with at least a 20 or more visits in between, has been amazing. Seriously amazing. Everything is made in-house, from the crispy Vietnamese egg rolls to crab Rangoon, to homemade peanut dipping sauce, to Pho broth, to... everything. A lot of love and pride goes into their dishes, and it shows. The pho is excellent. Vermicelli bowls, equally delicious. Banh mi, also yummy. They have some Chinese and Thai offerings that are tasty but not quite what I'm used to in terms of authenticity... that being said, it's a Vietnamese restaurant so I expect their Vietnamese to be top notch, which it is, and the other things aren't as important, at least to me. Things to try: Pho, of course, with all the trimmings, all of them are delicious (yep, even the beef tendon one) Crispy Vietnamese egg rolls Salt and pepper squid Dumplings Beef onion rolls Chicken wings!! Super crispy, and the topping is delicious enough to eat on its own! Vermicelli bowls Anything with pork Noodles and rice dishes... Get the "birds nest"! Crispy noodles shaped into a "nest" filled with deliciousness! Finish with a tea or coffee. Soooo good! And if you can't decide what you want, ask for the owner, Charlie- he'll help you figure it out or create something based on what you like, or ask for Manolo (days)- he's always got great recommendations. This is hands down the best Vietnamese place I've tried in San Antonio. The food is fresh and fairly priced. We ordered the Thai iced tea, flat crispy noodle dish, and the pho with brisket and meatballs. For just $1 more I upgraded to size large pho and had plenty of leftovers. Our server was good and the food came out fast and sizzling hot. I love that variety of fresh veggies in the crispy noodle dish and the assortment of sauces at the table.
