I used to come here like twice a week. Came today my mom ordered shrimp fried rice, shrimp wasn't cleaned so she sent it back. I always order the p9 pho, ALWAYS. Today the broth tasted old and I couldn't get past it. When they bought my moms rice back out one of the cooks came from the back and stared us down. Then her rice was extremely gummy and I did not like the way my pho tasted so we called our waiter over and explained our issues. He went and got the manager who then proceeded to say "if you don't like it, get out" and told me that he didn't believe me when I said I come here all the time. Tried this place for the first time today and we were pretty impressed. Serving sizes were great, food was really good and extremely fresh. My Bun was great with fresh grilled pork and shrimp and his Mongolian chicken from the lunch menu lunch looked really great and smelled even better! Owners were there and really engaged. I hope I don't get sick. The staff here do not wear masks at all time.......and when they do, they don't cover their mouth completely or their nose. It's really uncomfortable here with this lack of protocol for covid. They do make you sanitize upon entering the restaurant. Maybe because I've had home-made Vietnamese meals from my mom and grandma so often that I'm jaded to other Vietnamese food.. but this place fell short to meet my expectations. However, I will say that if you're to grab Vietnamese food anywhere around the area - THIS is probs your best bet because other places are just way worse in quality. I forgot what dish I had gotten here (it wasn't too memorable) but if I recall correctly, it was bún đc bit (special vermicelli) which is the typical dish I usually get anywhere else. And while it was good, I had to use a lot of nc mm (fish sauce) because all the flavor just wasn't there.. also missing the traditional oily green onions that tops the dish. Sure, the quantity is great in that there was alot in my bowl and I was full, but I wasn't as satisfied as if I was walking out of my mom's kitchen. I also got the avocado smoothie.. very bland and distasteful. Would not recommend the avocado smoothie. But once again, I think this place is most decent for Vietnamese food probs in the entire San Antonio area. I've tried 3-4 other places and they disappointed, so if you're craving, this is your best bet. read more

I don't know why it took me so long to come here. I always go to a different pho place down the street in medical, but tonight I decided to switch it up and I'm so glad I did! The service was friendly and the food was delicious. One of the most flavorful vegan broths I've ever had. And the veggies in the vegetarian pho were also premium-- no cabbage and greens onion only here. Definitely recommend, especially to vegan/vegetarians. read more

Could. Not. Stop. Eating. Vermicelli. Bowl. Although the customer service is greatly lacking in this place, boy was the grilled pork vermicelli bowl good! For a to-go order, the noodles at other places are usually too dry before I get back to the office resulting in the odd manner of sticky dividing noodles with chopsticks. Crises averted! The grilled pork had just enough seasoning and oil along with a slightly moister and softer noodle to make this attempt PERFECT! The meal was not only easy to handle; it was easy on the taste buds. The cucumbers, bean spouts, carrots, basil, lettuce, etc. was all fresh, and there was PLENTY of it. This was quite honestly my favorite vermicelli bowl in SA. Normally, I order two summer rolls with peanut sauce as a standard since I've become used to smaller to-go bowls, but the summer rolls remained untouched because I ate the bowl first! On that note, the summer rolls were also huge! Originally, I ordered a grilled pork with egg rolls bowl online. I arrived to find that my meal was a $1 less than anticipated and missing egg rolls, yet with double the grilled pork. I was HIGHLY upset when I got my Pho, barely any meat and the noodles were soggy. I love tendon in my Pho and only got the 1 piece. We dont live that far from the place so I figured ordering through favor, it would be fresh. I called to complain and was rudely hung up on. My son and I were craving Bahn Mi sandwiches and saw some pretty decent reviews on this place. Drove here from the northeast side and we're not disappointed. The pork and beef sandwiches were quite good. Wife wanted a grilled chicken bun with lemongrass, but mildly spicy. It was good, but still to spicy for her, but I enjoyed it. The Vietnamese veggie rolls and spring rolls were quite tasty and the sauce for the veggie rolls was a pleasant surprise - quite good. Hadn't had anything like it elsewhere. The Taro smoothie is something you should not miss. We took it to go and the service was quite quick with very friendly staff taking care of us. Like most good Vietnamese restaurants that I have gone to over the years, it's like eating at someone's dining room. Though late in the evening, there were quite a few groups eating there. Just as important as the meal is the ability to visit with friends while sharing a meal. This relaxed dining room makes that effortless. Folks could easily carry on conversations without noise from other tables. Great place to get together to enjoy good food (quite a selection of different dishes) and be able to enjoy the company of friends and family. Hello friends! Jumping right in with what I ordered, I had the combo fried rice plate, the fried vietnamese egg rolls and p5 soup with ice tea. The portions were large and generous. The noodle soup had plenty of noodles and the broth was light and flavorful without being too oily. The rice plate had good size pieces of shrimp, beef and chicken as well as the welcome addition of fried egg pieces and not too many peas and carrots (this is a good thing). Again, not too oily/greasy. The egg rolls were tasty. Everything was fresh and the tea actually tasted like brewed tea and not water. The staff was friendly and attentive. We had the opportunity to meet with owner and he was very friendly and even offered us a taste of their curry when we mentioned Thai food. It was delicious, so we will be coming back to try that next. A great experience and a good impression for our first visit. Prices were in the $8-$12 range and you get a lot of quality and quantity for what you pay. The atmosphere was pleasant. the restaurant is tidy and looks new. Staff was friendly. read more

I've been in search of a new Vietnamese place w awesome pho for a few months. I've read reviews on other places which 5 stars were given and I thought the food was horrible.
