Firstly, the food is amazing. You won't be disappointed. Servers are friendly, so that's good. What was disappointing/needs work: 1. I couldn't get the "Join Waitlist" on Toasttab to work for the downtown location. It worked for other locations but not the one we wanted. So we waited about 15 minutes (not a huge deal) but why offer and even advertise it at the restaurant if it doesn't work? 2. When walking in to get on the waitlist, I was waiting behind someone who was being helped. Another person walked in behind me to also get on the list, and a second employee helped them first and skipped me. Again, not a big deal, but just not a great way to start, especially when I'd been annoyed with item 1 to even get on the list at all. Please attend the line and not the person pushing their way in. 3. The shrimp on my shrimp and grits were amazing and plentiful but I had almost no grits in that skillet. Maybe there should be a different serving vessel and they would be more present. Tasty but I had two bites with any significant amount of grit to shrimp ratio! Would I come back? Yes! None of the things above are deal breakers but just annoying for a first time patron. If it continues to happen, I'd reconsider my answer. But as almost everything here is gluten free, which is huge, it gives them a lot of grace with me! Even the gravy, which I had on the Cheeky Monkey was gf and sooooo good! Best thing I ate there!

4.5 Stars A cute lil diner with classic, stick-to-your-ribs brunch food with a Southern twist. Food: Brisket Benny ($16.99) was hefty. They did not skimp on the biscuits. The biscuits sort of taste like sweet cornbread. The hash brown casserole was rich and creamy. The pancakes ($6.99) - were nice, lots of blueberries! Staff were really nice. Only nits: There was obnoxious pop music playing the background. It's not their fault I hate pop music though, lol.

The Phoebe's Diner downtown location is much bigger and nicer than the Oltorf location in south Austin. There's free street parking directly across the street, which is a big plus downtown. The service was very warm and friendly but not as attentive. The yogurt parfait was delicious. I ordered it without the lemon curd and it was still fantastic. The portion was very generous so I couldn't even finish it. The tater tots were perfectly crispy and soooo good dipped in ranch. A few sides were a bit disappointing. The mushrooms and spinach were a bit too salty, and the side of scrambled eggs looked very dry - my friend didn't even eat them, and the bacon was so thick it tasted like ham. I would come back to try some other dishes.

The service is incredible, our server was so kind. The food, very yummy! Especially their masa balls. We ordered the beef hash and migas plate! The place was busy but not where you couldnt have your own convo. Everything was very enjoyable and we'll be back :)

Came here based on Yelp reviews as Austin visitors and wish we could have gone again! My migas were to die for! Hubby had half order of biscuits and sage sausage gravy and it was good too! Fun servers, good coffee!

Had a great breakfast date here! We shared the brisket burrito and two pancakes, which was a good portion early in the morning that didn't leave us feeling heavy. Not many restaurants open at 7am, so this was the perfect spot. The smoked brisket burrito was absolutely delicious. I tried a little bit of the salsa, and I preferred the burrito without it. The potatoes were too dry and bland for my liking. The buttermilk flapjacks were great as well, and I really liked how they had a sweet flavour to them even though we didn't get any add ons.

Phoebe's Diner is a cutesy Brunch place in Austin that we got to try. The place gets busy but you can get on the waitlist through Yelp. We had to wait probably for 5mins on Thanksgiving day. The place some great breakfast options as well lunch sandwiches. I went for the green Churizo shrimp and grits which were creamy and cheesy. The shrimp was grilled which added so much flavor. This was my first time trying the green Churizo and I simply loved it. We also tried the Fried french toast which was really good. It was fluffy with a little bit of cinnamon and nutmeg, whipped butter on top took it to another level. The ambiance is good, they have patio seating as well. They play soft mood music which adds to a calming atmosphere. Definitely try them out next time you are in town.

First time in Austin and we wanted a good brunch place- Phoebe's didnt disappoint. We didnt have a wait, being seated immediately before the rush. I knew it was a good place with the portrait of the Anthony Bourdain on the wall. I got the thick French toast which was beyond delicious and gorgeous looking. Also got to try the homemade biscuits and jelly.

I wanted a hearty brunch, so I found a cute, upbeat, and lively restaurant on 11th Street near my hotel -- Phoebe's Diner. The food was absolutely delicious, and the ambiance was amazing. The staff showed incredible hospitality, creating a comfortable and joyful dining experience from the moment I walked in. We had an amazing waitress named Mallory, who recently moved to Texas and provided me with a great list of local attractions, photo opportunities, bars, and restaurants to visit. She was very attentive, friendly, and extremely helpful throughout the entire experience. The food was outstanding. I had the brisket burrito and the chicken with tater tots -- both were phenomenal. And you definitely have to try their sauces! They're unlike anything you can imagine and truly elevate the entire meal. Visiting Phoebe's Diner was one of the best experiences I've had here in Austin. I absolutely loved it and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a hearty and memorable brunch!

Phoebe's Diner delivers exactly what you want from an Austin eatery: hearty, well-executed comfort food in a relaxed and family friendly atmosphere. It's a fantastic choice for both families and anyone craving a satisfying brunch or lunch while in downtown Austin. The Fried Chicken and Grits (4/5) is a must-try if you're looking for something savory and hearty, featuring a perfectly crispy, well-seasoned crust that pairs beautifully with the creamy, cheesy grits. I prefer a thick piece of juicy thigh but the breasts will do. The Chicken Fried Steak(3.5/5) is decent, generous in portion and smothered in a flavorful sage gravy. For starters, the fried mozzarella (4/5) was a tasty with a kick of spice from the dipping sauce, a step above the typical classic. The kids' menu was a success for our kiddos. The bacon and eggs (4/5) were cooked just right whoever, portion is too small IMO. Nice thick piece of bacon but they only give the kid half a piece. The blueberry pancakes (4/5) were fluffy. Kids can choose either fruit or tots and they each opted for each. Fruits cup has typical fruit choices but the highlight is truly the tater tots which has a perfect crisp. We also ordered the Vietnamese coffee (3.5/5) and it was strong and sweet like a typical Vietnamese coffee but it has this odd after taste of possible burnt beans. Phoebe's is a reliable and delicious diner experience. Be ready for a line but they do allow you to call and get on the waitlist so choose that option if you are able to plan ahead.

    Hashbrown Casserole, Crab Cake Benedict
    Tiffany T.

Absolutely one of my favorite brunch places to go to in Austin! There is one dish here that I come for, and it's the crab cake Benedict. The dish is very well executed and has the perfect amount of richness to it. The crab has always tasted fresh, and there is definitely a good amount in each crab cake. This dish comes with one side and I like to get their hashbrown casserole. Service is typically good, and it's definitely a great restaurant to visit with family and friends. They always put a "joke" book on the table, and I feel like it's a family centered environment. I've been to another Phoebe's location in atx but I find that this one is my favorite. Overall, love Phoebes!

    Everyone needs bacon.
    Scott T.

Great overall experience and an easy 4 stars. The Cheeky Monkey dish is the move, super flavorful and the standout on the table. Service was friendly and stayed on top of refills even when it got busy. It can feel a little crowded and not every bite wowed like that dish did, but portions are solid and it is definitely worth a stop.

Blueberry pancakes with a side of bacon. Perfect!!

No one likes jury duty...no one. I was annoyed to have to drive downtown and I was hungry on top of that. On a whim, I decide to try Phoebe's Diner and I was so glad I did. The staff was friendly and the pancakes are crispy on the outside and super soft and fluffy on the inside. I ordered a side of bacon thinking I would get two small slices and I was thrilled to see a single thick slice of bacon that was cooked to perfection! I have only tried breakfast, but I am planning on bringing my wife and kiddo back here as soon as possible. Thank's Phoebe's Dinerfor helping turn my morning around!!

So we thought we would make a whole night of it. Tiffany did make reservations for us for 7pm and even though this is a bar hopping neighborhood, even at 7pm it was pretty busy. Streets were full of people. Anthem had a vibe. I felt the energy as soon as I waked in. The cozy booths with the U shaped seating with plush green velvet fabric. Wait staff wore Hawaiian shirts. Sitting up behind me on a ledge was the Easter Island statue. Insert (Night At The Museum) here, dumb dumb give me gum gum. Anthem was our first stop tonight. Just drinks and a dinner. This time we went in knowing exactly what we liked from our first visit and focused on sharing appetizers, which ended up being the move. We ordered several dishes for the table and left completely full and happy. The whipped feta is still a must-order and every bit as good as I remembered. The Greek village salad was fresh and delicious, and the hummus was also great. The biggest surprise for me was the falafel. As an Arab, I'm usually pretty skeptical when restaurants outside of Middle Eastern spots serve falafel because it rarely lives up to expectations. Aba absolutely nailed it. It was flavorful, perfectly cooked, and one of my favorite dishes of the meal. We sat outside this time, which made for a really nice atmosphere. The service was also a huge improvement from my first experience. Even though the restaurant was busy, our waitress was incredibly kind, attentive, and made us feel well taken care of throughout the meal. I'm happy to say my opinion has completely changed since my first visit. Giving Aba another chance was definitely worth it, and it has officially earned a spot on my Austin rotation whenever I'm in town.

The beef tenderloin kebab and steak frites were both excellent, and the whipped feta was easily our favorite dish--definitely a must-order. My only complaint is that some of the portions felt small for the price. The Greek Village Salad wasn't worth it in my opinion; for about $20, it was mostly large chunks of tomatoes, cucumber, onion, and feta. Parking on South Congress can also be a bit of a hassle. Overall, the food and ambiance were great. I'd come back, but I wouldn't be rushing to do so.

The food was flavorful and well-executed overall. My only exception was the burrata, as I wasn't a fan of the sauce it was served with. The biggest drawback was the portion sizes. While everything tasted good, the portions felt quite small for the price point. The food is definitely on the expensive side, and I left feeling that the value didn't quite match the cost. Before we even had a chance to ask, the staff brought a bowl of water for our dog, which was such a thoughtful gesture. Another touch that made the evening special was that the staff acknowledged our son's birthday upon arrival and presented him with a birthday card signed by team members. It was a simple but incredibly sweet gesture that made him feel celebrated. For drinks, my husband ordered the Swedish Fish Punch, while I enjoyed the Family Business German Pilsner. For appetizers, we shared the Burrata and a salad that is no longer on the menu. The salad featured cashew butter and was absolutely delicious. Since we wanted to save room for dessert, sharing the entrees turned out to be the perfect decision. We ordered the Pistachio Crème Brûlée and Sticky Toffee Pudding, and the restaurant also surprised our son with a complimentary birthday cake complete with a candle. All three desserts were exceptional and a perfect ending to the meal. Eberly is definitely a high-end dining destination and an excellent choice for special occasions, celebrations, or gatherings with family and friends. The indoor and outdoor spaces are beautiful and spacious, the service is attentive and thoughtful, and every dish felt carefully crafted with unique flavors and attention to detail. What impressed me most was that every aspect of the experience--from the hospitality to the food and special touches--felt intentional and genuine. We left feeling celebrated, well-fed, and already looking forward to our next visit.

Loved that Indigo Cat and from Dusk till dawn great recommendations from Chris. Pork chops down well with a little bit of pink, crab cake was a delicacy, spagahettini delicious! That Sticky toffee pudding was the good night Irene! Chris gave a nice history of the Tiffany glass at the bar and the WWII ship hull in the artrium. Really knowledgeable guy. Loved the conversations we had with him. Only down side was our order of oysters was sent to another table. Unfortunatetly, the party it went to failed to inform our server and ate them.

The turkey avocado sandwich (my husband enjoyed it) and the hot chicken sandwich was so good ( a little spicy but very well seasoned! My 9 yr old daughter had the chicken fingers kids meal (not pictured). She enjoyed it but the portions for the kids meal are a bit small so keep that in mind. All in all, we will definitely be back to try new items!

With a point system to accrue benefits over time, and at each visit, and impressive happy hour specials for both food and drinks, it's hard not to visit more than once. Every member of service either greeted us, or supported our needs with a smile. Calvin, especially, made sure every step of our experience from walking in through ordering was special. While we didn't indulge in the beverages, we enjoyed the $10 burger special which also came with fries! We paired this with a side of a $6 Caesar Salad (really tasty and thrown together with thinly sliced cabbage, roasted chickpeas, and popcorn chicken). Next time, I'd really love to try the truffle mac and cheese (which was also on HH). We weren't aware of the upcharge for swapping out the slice of American for Cheddar (+$1.50), which would've been nice to know ahead of time, since we both got burgers and wondered about the swap...but lesson learned. Also, BIG lesson learned...the parking validation is for only two hours! We were having such a lovely time at Dish Society, but exceeded the 2 hrs (by an extra hour) and got charged a significant amount for parking. Next time, we will certainly park on the street. We tried reasoning with the parking attendant and they wanted no business in understanding we were patrons of the restaurant. It was certainly an unexpected shock, and didn't leave the best final touch of our evening (specifically in that parking garage). It's unfortunate that we got penalized for enjoying our time at dinner.
