The food. The vibes. The service. Wow! Get the chicken fried steak with grits. The sage gravy is hella good. Everything was seasoned. The nitro-chata is perfection.

The place is really cute and the customer service was 5/5. I got the Chile Relleno w/ green chorizo with fruit. This was really different but a good different. Scrabbled eggs stuffed in there and fried. Everything worked really well with each other but I could have shared this plate with someone. Those potatoes were delicious and the perfect amount of crispy. Chicken Fried Ribeye with hashbrown casserole. The asparagus was seasoned so well that my boyfriend discovered he really likes asparagus. He devoured his chicken friend ribeye. The biscuits and gravy were ok but it's not something that we would order again. We wanted to try it out to see if we would like it but it's a no for us. Definitely recommend and don't forget to join the waitlist so you don't have to wait long before you're seated.

Food: Deep Fried French Toast sounded like it would be amazing ... and it was! Omg I added bananas on top and wow, this is some of the best French toast in Austin. I genuinely loved it so much. I also got the Cafe du Monde Vietnamese Coffee because it intrigued me. I grew up with Cafe du Monde coffee, so I knew about the chicory flavor. But with this style/flavoring, omg wow... so good!! Gimme an Iv of that coffee!! Service: My server was super friendly! I thought she was sweet and funny. Ambiance: Super chill diner vibe with TVs on, big bar with AustinFC flag and lots of extra coffee to be made! It was really nice there.

Husband and I were on the search for some breakfast spot & we came across Phoebes with pretty good reviews. I wouldn't say it's the best breakfast spot though. I was really craving pancakes & these weren't so good. The tater tots were good though. Don't remember what my husband ordered but he also mentioned it's not what he had expected. I guess we were just expecting good breakfast because of the previous reviews & ratings. I do say, our server was super nice & attentive ! We went on a Sunday 9:30am & we're seated right away, get there early because it does get packed pretty quickly.

I want to start by saying this was an Uber Eats order, so my experience may have been a tad different if I'd been there in person. I ordered 2 Chicken Biscuits. It typically comes with a fried chicken breast on top of an egg, cheese, and a biscuit. It also has potatoes and some type of jalapeño jam on the side. The chicken was seasoned but still missing something. I wish they'd also maybe cooked it just a little longer. The breading looked perfectly cooked but tasted like it needed a little more time. When I placed my order I called the store to ask if they could not put cheese on either of the meals. The nice host who answered the phone said of course. Needless to say, although "no cheese" was written on my receipt, there was still cheese on both. On the first one, I was able to get most of the egg separated from the cheese. The taste was basic, would have been better if I could have had it with the biscuit. Couldn't taste the first biscuit bc the cheese was melted on. Luckily, on the second one, I was able to just take the cheese off, sacrificing bits on the biscuit lol. The potatoes were basic. They had little to no seasoning. The Jam! It was definitely a saving grace for everything. It was kinda similar to chutney. I tasted it with each item and it definitely made it better. Is this a place I'll eat regularly, probably not. Will I eat here again, I'm not opposed to trying it again.

Came Saturday morning and was able to grab a seat at the bar. They defiantly are popular for both dine in and to go orders. Went with the French toast and badass bacon and eggs. French toast is massive so tool 1/2 home, nice and crispy and soft center. The Badass bacon and eggs was simple yet good. The hash brown casserole was great at first but then become kinda bland. The eggs tasted a lot like the casserole sooooo maybe next time I'll do over easy eggs. Bacon nice and crispy just how I like. Coffee was also good and service was great. Sitting at the bar you get a front row seat of all that's going on. Restaurant was clean and seemed to be well maintained.

Came here on a saturday about an hour and half to closing. We had to wait a few mins for a table. The parking outside is really small. Once seated our server was friendly. Food came out fairly quickly. I got the grilled chicken sandwich with fries and it was really good. Would def recommend trying but keep in mind the area and the parking situation.

    --Brisket Benny-

Brunch date at Phoebe's Diner was a 10/10 I had the BST omelette with red potatoes + a Vietnamese coffee made with Cafe Du Monde, and my gf got the brisket Benny with the horchata ‍ Everything was SO good, portions were huge so we definitely left with leftovers. Great food, great vibes, and already can't wait to go back

Badass Bacon and Eggs + Green Chorizo Shrimp and Grits, Cheeky Monkey, classic Bloody Mary and a grapefruit mimosa
    Misty D.

We had the Badass Bacon and Eggs, Green Chorizo Shrimp and Grits, a Cheeky Monkey, a classic Bloody Mary and a grapefruit mimosa. Everything was great, very fresh, we didn't have to wait long to be seated or for our food to arrive. The service was excellent, the team is upbeat and they all seem happy. The ambiance was nice and casual - it's like an up scale diner. The bacon was thicc and melt-in-your-mouth status. The Cheeky Monkey was not our favorite item, but it was unique. My husband got the shrimp and grits and said it was "delightful". I'm not sure that I've heard him use that word to describe a dish before. We looked around at other people's food and it all looked real good. We will be back for more!

One of the perineally great things about Austin, now and forever is,you never know what you're gonna run into. For certain it will be interesting. Everything is hiding in plain sight. I sat down with Phoebe's menu and immediately wanted everything. Literally. I knew then, I'd discovered a good one. Over the decades I've prided myself on finding the hidden gems. You know, that place you set your sights on to hit when you roll into town. These days, most of the old spots have been torn down to make way for shiny new highrise condos. I'm adding Phoebe's to my list of definitely go. If you blink youl miss it. Just on the edge of surrounding gentrification in a non descrpt strip center. No big sign. Walk in the front door and the vibe hits you. Yes,the sound track of R & B is required in Austin but that's not it. The layout, smiles on faces, aroma of hunger inducing foods being prepared. It all adds up to high expectations. I went for the green chorizo hash. Wow! This is one of those occasions where the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. Green chorizo, corn, onion sweet potato, spinach. All topped with two over easy eggs, guacamole, pickled chilies, cotija cheese and cilantro. All the other menu items sounded just as good. Exceptional service, food and atmosphere.... Go!

On a busy Easter Sunday, I was very pleased to be seated almost immediately. The trick as it turned out, was to get on their waitlist first thing in the am via using their website and then let them know you're already on the waitlist whenever you arrive. Needless to say, the service was excellent. We tried a plethora of food. Pancakes, chicken, shrimp, cornbread, hash potatoes, grits, fries, biscuits. Everything was amazing. The cornbread came with butter, apple butter, and a spicy jam. . The grits were creamy and cheesy. The chicken was fired to perfection and tasted amazing with a little syrup poured on it. My daughter loved the shrimp!!! The biscuit was a tad bit dry though. Overall, we throughly enjoyed our brunch. They have your typical diner seating of booths and a few small tables and a small area of patio seating. All the more reason to jump on the website and get on the waitlist far in advance of arriving. I spent $89 to feed four. 8.0 out of 10 is my rating. Great Job Pheobe's Diner!!!!

This place is gross, save your money and go elsewhere. The eggs were watery and drenched in sauce and fake cheese. The masa was soggy and tasted rotten. I got very nauseous after a few bites so I threw the rest away. Waste of money. Don't come here trust me

Banana French toast & beet hash

Was visiting Austin and was looking for brunch before heading out of town. The service was quick and I started with a strawberry lemon mimosa. It was an amazing start. We got the banana flambé French toast & the beet hash. Both were excellent. The diner is in a strip mall and has indoor and outdoor seating as well as counter service. We ate inside. Definitely child friendly. All around great experience

So we thought we would make a whole night of it. Tiffany did make reservations for us for 7pm and even though this is a bar hopping neighborhood, even at 7pm it was pretty busy. Streets were full of people. Anthem had a vibe. I felt the energy as soon as I waked in. The cozy booths with the U shaped seating with plush green velvet fabric. Wait staff wore Hawaiian shirts. Sitting up behind me on a ledge was the Easter Island statue. Insert (Night At The Museum) here, dumb dumb give me gum gum. Anthem was our first stop tonight. Just drinks and a dinner. I ordered the Peach Fuzzy drink. Not too sweet, refreshing, peachy, and beautiful garnish of a flower. I ordered the Yummy Fries which looked like a salad. Gorgeous presentation. Fries were actually waffle sweet potatoes. Pickled ginger, sesame seeds, furikake, aïoli and a few other wonderful ingredients. Could not get over how beautiful everything looked. Presentation outstanding. Service delightful. Had a wonderful time at Anthem. We both did use the ladies rooms before leaving. Inside the bathroom there is a sign about safety and if you need assistants. I did take a picture of it. On our way out, Brian the manager, said good night to us and waved. Updating my review after giving Aba a second chance about nine months later…read more I'm honestly really glad I came back. This time we went in knowing exactly what we liked from our first visit and focused on sharing appetizers, which ended up being the move. We ordered several dishes for the table and left completely full and happy. The whipped feta is still a must-order and every bit as good as I remembered. The Greek village salad was fresh and delicious, and the hummus was also great. The biggest surprise for me was the falafel. As an Arab, I'm usually pretty skeptical when restaurants outside of Middle Eastern spots serve falafel because it rarely lives up to expectations. Aba absolutely nailed it. It was flavorful, perfectly cooked, and one of my favorite dishes of the meal. We sat outside this time, which made for a really nice atmosphere. The service was also a huge improvement from my first experience. Even though the restaurant was busy, our waitress was incredibly kind, attentive, and made us feel well taken care of throughout the meal. I'm happy to say my opinion has completely changed since my first visit. Giving Aba another chance was definitely worth it, and it has officially earned a spot on my Austin rotation whenever I'm in town.

The waitress didn't come by to refill our waters, I had to ask the staff. And then we were sitting around for about 30 minutes to ask for boxes, and even the check. I am not entirely sure what happened to the server, maybe they got distracted or got busy. But Aba is an expensive meal, and I expect more from this kind of establishment.

The food was flavorful and well-executed overall. My only exception was the burrata, as I wasn't a fan of the sauce it was served with. The biggest drawback was the portion sizes. While everything tasted good, the portions felt quite small for the price point. The food is definitely on the expensive side, and I left feeling that the value didn't quite match the cost. That said, the beautiful atmosphere, stunning views, excellent service, and tasty food still made for a great experience. I chose the Mafaldine pasta, and I couldn't have been happier with my choice. It was rich, flavorful, and unlike any pasta dish I've had before. Every bite was outstanding. My son ordered the salmon, which was equally delicious and perfectly cooked. Both dishes were satisfying and filling. Since we wanted to save room for dessert, sharing the entrees turned out to be the perfect decision. We ordered the Pistachio Crème Brûlée and Sticky Toffee Pudding, and the restaurant also surprised our son with a complimentary birthday cake complete with a candle. All three desserts were exceptional and a perfect ending to the meal. Eberly is definitely a high-end dining destination and an excellent choice for special occasions, celebrations, or gatherings with family and friends. The indoor and outdoor spaces are beautiful and spacious, the service is attentive and thoughtful, and every dish felt carefully crafted with unique flavors and attention to detail. What impressed me most was that every aspect of the experience--from the hospitality to the food and special touches--felt intentional and genuine. We left feeling celebrated, well-fed, and already looking forward to our next visit.

Loved that Indigo Cat and from Dusk till dawn great recommendations from Chris. Pork chops down well with a little bit of pink, crab cake was a delicacy, spagahettini delicious! That Sticky toffee pudding was the good night Irene! Chris gave a nice history of the Tiffany glass at the bar and the WWII ship hull in the artrium. Really knowledgeable guy. Loved the conversations we had with him. Only down side was our order of oysters was sent to another table. Unfortunatetly, the party it went to failed to inform our server and ate them.

The turkey avocado sandwich (my husband enjoyed it) and the hot chicken sandwich was so good ( a little spicy but very well seasoned! My 9 yr old daughter had the chicken fingers kids meal (not pictured). She enjoyed it but the portions for the kids meal are a bit small so keep that in mind. All in all, we will definitely be back to try new items!

With a point system to accrue benefits over time, and at each visit, and impressive happy hour specials for both food and drinks, it's hard not to visit more than once. Every member of service either greeted us, or supported our needs with a smile. Calvin, especially, made sure every step of our experience from walking in through ordering was special. While we didn't indulge in the beverages, we enjoyed the $10 burger special which also came with fries! We paired this with a side of a $6 Caesar Salad (really tasty and thrown together with thinly sliced cabbage, roasted chickpeas, and popcorn chicken). Next time, I'd really love to try the truffle mac and cheese (which was also on HH). We weren't aware of the upcharge for swapping out the slice of American for Cheddar (+$1.50), which would've been nice to know ahead of time, since we both got burgers and wondered about the swap...but lesson learned. Also, BIG lesson learned...the parking validation is for only two hours! We were having such a lovely time at Dish Society, but exceeded the 2 hrs (by an extra hour) and got charged a significant amount for parking. Next time, we will certainly park on the street. We tried reasoning with the parking attendant and they wanted no business in understanding we were patrons of the restaurant. It was certainly an unexpected shock, and didn't leave the best final touch of our evening (specifically in that parking garage). It's unfortunate that we got penalized for enjoying our time at dinner.
