I was sitting at home happily alone late on a Friday night and I decided to be a lil fatty and order some dessert for delivery. So based off the previous reviews..I went ahead and tried the Durian along with the mochi balls and the mango and mixed fruit tapioca drink. I'm sorry, but everyone here talks about how good the Durian is. I have no clue what they were talking about. Perhaps i caught them on a bad day. To me it smelled like booty and tastes rather..interesting. However, the good for this place is that the drinks are actually fairly good..along with the mochi balls! I love their variety pack of mochi even though my favorite is the purple one I think it's taro that's my guess. The custard's are okay not my favorite but the mochi are good. Mostly, the purple one and the mango one are delish. The sucky thing is they only take cash and card well it has to be over ten dollars I think. Oh yeah there drinks are pretty good too. read more

Mix fruit Tapioca, number 1 drink there. Go for it and have a spoon ready also haha. Delicious mixed (diced nice and small) fruits, ice, all in a coconut milk, I think theres some other stuff in there that just makes it delicious. The little pudding cakes are amazing also. The shaved ice (tapioca, condensed milk, red beans, etc.) was really good. We also had a taro drink that was great as well. It's open late every day, so you can always stop by if you're in the mood, even if it's late night. I'd rather go here than their restaurant next door. read more

this is the perfect late night dessert joint! its great to come here around midnight after dinner. its a really tiny and fancy place, but always crowded! you cant beat the vibe. the workers are running all over the place to finish up all the orders. the fridge is filled with all kinds of sweets like cakes, all types of mochi, and a lot of other chinese desserts. oh man the the strawberry mochi is soo GOOD. its really soft and tasted really fresh. sesame soup is also really good. comes out nice and warm and not too thick. you also HAVE to try the strawberry or mango pudding. BEST pudding ever. it's right next door to its main restaurant which is under the same name. theres a little window in the wall where the waiters pick up the desserts for the customers next door. this place is a MUST if youre in alhambra afer dinner. read more

very famous Hong Kong desert place, that I have friends living in San Francisco who'd drive to LA just to grab something here. recommending the durian rolls, and the steamed milk pudding not recommending the glazed walnuts. good parking not many seats, not ideal for dining in. I love their mango mochi balls! They put real mango inside and its not too sweet! I love to come here when I'm in the area and they have lots of different types of desserts as well. I haven't tried their other desserts but will have to next time I'm in town! read more

hm, not sure if this is the right one. it should be though. lol, Phoenix Dessert & Phoenix Inn are on the same street but about a block diagonally apart. my friends & i went to Phoenix Dessert after having dinner at Savoy Kitchen. there are two areas for seating that is divided by ceiling-to-floor windows. We sat at a 4-seat table "outside" but had to move inside cuz we couldn't stand the smell of cigarette smoking. there wasn't any room inside except for a 2-seater so one of the servers added another seat for the 3 of us. We shared a plate of mango shaved ice~ tasty & fresh mango! great mix with the coconut milk, shaved ice, & small clear tapioca pearls to top it off. we also shared a warm bowl of black rice with coconut jelly. this one was even better than the mango shaved ice! maybe it's cuz one of my friends loooooooooooooooved it so much that wow! she should be chosen to do a tv ad for it. she had such a great time savoring every bite of it that we couldn't help but have an incredible time! i'll definitely come back to introduce these desserts to them & explore the other items on the menu :D read more

Excellent dessert and not very sweet. Ordered the following: Mango mochi: soft cold mochi with a fresh piece of mango in the center. It's not very sweet like the ones I buy from the Asian supermarket which makes it very tasty. Highly recommended. Durian roll: I'm not a durian fan but my companion enjoy it very much. It's also a recommended item from the shop personnel. So I suppose it's good. Try it if you like durian. Mixed fruit small tapioca drink: excellent combination with mixed fruit and coconut. Again, it's not super sweet and very good. Recommended. Overall, this is a really nice dessert place and the portion is quite full. I'm looking forward to trying more stuff next time. read more

One word. Yum! I love good mochi and it can be hard to find. A friend of mine introduced me to Phoenix Desserts and I was sold immediately. All the desserts are really fresh...you can even watch them making them and the teas too. The Tapioca tea was good (it's Hong Kong style, small pearls, not boba). I know I don't look like their typical customer and yet they were really nice and helpful, so an A+ for service and yummy desserts. I'll be back as soon as I work through all 6 trays of mochi I just purchased, lol...Also, I'm looking forward to trying out their adjacent restaurant when my boyfriend is in town....according to the menu online, they have several vegetarian options. We stopped by just to stop by and I ordered a fresh fruit iced tea, which I really enjoyed! The fruit was actually real fruit and not cocktail fruit from a can! They also have cute little Asian desserts - miniature egg custards, flavored mochis (which include mango), and other yummy stuff! I'm giving this place a four and not a five because I've been to the Phoenix dessert place in Arcadia, which is bigger and has more tables for a place to sit and chill with your yummy dessert. read more

This place is crazy good. Boys love the Hong Kong egg puffs and fresh mango pudding. Hubby loves the hot almond with black sesame dessert. I love the coconut mango rolls, their mochi and gelatin desserts (green tea, red bean, mango, black sesame) and their mango delight and mixed fruit tapioca pearl dessert drinks. Everytime I swing by the 626 area I come here for dessert. They have a bunch of puddings and custards from durian to coconut to red bean to mango. They even have shaved ice here as well. Not the cheapest but not bad either. Well worth the visit. read more

I've heard lots of good things about Phoenix and since I was eating dim sum w/ family in the area, I decided to stop by after. Upon walking in we were greeted, but we took a while to decide what to get since it was our first time. We were asking the cashier a couple of questions since it was our first time and she was so rude! She was just SO GOD DAMN ASIAN! Like yeah we're in SGV, but c'mon we're in AMERICA don't be talking to me like we're in china. She was givin us attitude big time and I'd give this place 1 star 'cause of her, but the dessert saved it. My mom got the durian dessert everyone talked about and that was probably the only good thing here. We got the container w/ 9 different flavors of their jellow thing and it was just ok. Some flavors were really bland and I could make it better at home..The only good flavor was the green tea & red bean. I'd much rather stick w/ the vietnamese desserts back in the orange county area.
