My brother told me about a shop he and his wife likes to go to that is Vietnamese owned, so he took me here. I have been here twice and I got to say, it is really good. It's pretty crowded and busy, so I can understand what the hype is about. Lychee Lotus Tea: This is my brothers favorite and I really enjoyed this one as well. They give you a good amount of lychee in this drink and I added Longan as well. The flavor of the tea was rather floral and they do also give you a fair amount of tea. Strawberry Tea Freeze: My next time I wanted something different so I opted for this one. Even at 50% sweet, it was still sweet. I added brown boba for texture and I enjoyed it. It's a slushee consistency with 3 flavors: strawberry, tea, and yogurt. I love the yogurt in this drink because it's Vietnamese yogurt and it goes so well with the strawberry and tea flavor! --Lychee Jasmine Tea: super refreshing. Pretty cool spot to grab coffee, boba and snacks. It's located in the Little Saigon Plaza and is pretty spacious inside with plenty of seating and out door as well. My friends and I came in on a week night to finally try it out and enjoyed our drinks and the vibe there. Amongst us all we ordered a Vietnamese coffee, fruit tea & the peach tea freeze. All of our drinks were really good and served quickly. They also have a breakfast special where you get a Banh Mì sandwich + a drink for $10 before 11am. If you're coming here for the hype, relax. Phuc long isn't even popular in Vietnam to begin with. It falls behind big names in Vietnam like LaSimi, Phe La, Trung Nguyễn, the coffee house, cong cà phê kafa, king and katinat. Think of it in perspective of America with chains if McDonald's, Burger King, Wendy's, Jack in the box, etc.. they all have their own touches and flavors. Phuc long is extremely successful when it opened in SoCal years back so why not bring it up to norcal? Problem is that it's going to compete heavily with local drink businesses in the same plaza or nearby. Business aspect aside, their interior decor and seating is plentiful. The wait time is very minimal and the staffs are great. A big suggestion would Be adding a screen for self ordering for those who don't need real people. Menu is vast and exclusive. Big call out is that Phuc Long is known for their lotus and oolong teas. Those two types of teas are extremely popular in Vietnam and Phuc long hold truth to it. Longan lotus tea: 5/5, but expect it to taste like you tasted it somewhere before. Take canned longans, drain the juice from the can and mix it with lotus tea. Yikes. Gave this spot a chance despite its 3 star status but definitely should have skipped it. Don't know why they have any decent reviews. TLDR they skimp by filling ur drink with ice and don't care if your drink tastes like garbage. We ordered a Phuc Long Milk Tea, Peach Milk Tea, and Oolong Milk Tea with flan. Can see why they don't use clear cups, they skimp on toppings and load the cup up with mostly ice. The Phuc Long Milk Tea was fine, the Peach Milk Tea was below average and extremely artificial and sweet tasting, not any better than canned boba. Even then, I still kept this drink. But my boyfriend's oolong milk tea was undrinkable, it had a terrible sour and bitter taste like we were drinking metal. We asked them if we could switch just that drink out since the taste was so rancid but they refused to. Since we also thought they forgot the flan in the drink, they were going to add that, but then the employee shoved a dirty spoon around the drink to show that they did in fact put in the smallest piece of flan and gave it back. I've been here a couple times since this place opened. I only had their teas though, not their coffees. Service has always been quick even at their grand opening. My favorite drink is the Cloudy Jasmine and I always get 50% sweet. This is only one of the few boba places that have very strong tea which I love. I suggest you skip the pastries though. I finally had a chance to try this location twice with minimal wait times. I was a bit disappointed because of the following: - If you order less ice, your cup will be filled about 75% full...given how steep the prices are per drink (estimated around $6+), this is unacceptable. I rated it 2.5 stars (due to the ice levels and drink reviews). Drinks Cloudy Jasmine Tea/Lotus Tea This drink was very creamy where it was a bit overwhelming and diluted the tea. Lotus tea is definitely an acquired taste. I would skip this drink next time. Lychee Jasmine/Lotus Tea This was a bit on the sweeter side even after letting the ice melt to dilute it. This is one of the top 8 drinks and maybe it's because of the Lotus Tea that made the drink less desirable. Black Milk Tea This was a light version of Hong Kong Style Milk Tea. If you prefer your milk tea less creamy, this is a good option. Phuc Long Milk Tea with Boba The tea was more prominent, not too creamy, and frothy on top. The brown boba was chewy and surprisingly, it didn't harden after the drink was refrigerated for a couple of hours. I would order this again if I come back. Peach Black Tea Light peach and black tea flavor profiles. It was refreshing and not too sweet. Customer Service The service provided was quick and staff were kind to provide their input on the drinks to order. They use a pager system to alert customers that their drinks are ready to pick up at the front counter. Ambiance Plenty of areas both indoors and outdoors to sit, sip, and lounge for groups of 2 or more people. The ambiance has greenery hanging from the ceiling, industrials light fixtures, and leather cushioned chairs and tables all around. I tried Phuc Long the first time on my trip back to VN long ago, and I was impressed by their signature milk tea. Glad that they finally open a location in the Bay Area so I don't need to drive to SoCal. They have pretty limited items, but sometimes quality is better than quantity. I ordered a signature milk tea, half sweet and a lychee lotus tea, non sweetened. To my surprise, my milk tea was super sweet despite the sweetness adjustment. I'm sure their half sweet was like 100% sweet at some other famous Chinese milk tea places. On top of that, my drinks were not filled up to the top with less ice option, which I think for a $7-8 drink should not be the norm here. Taste wise, my milk tea was good after I brought it home, added more ice and a dash of milk to have it diluted a little bit. My mom's lychee lotus tea was actually good, although I ordered a 0% sweet, there was still some sweetness in the drink which might come from lychee syrup. Service was up to par. You can order in Vietnamese or English. Drinks came after 10-15 minutes wait. Will I come back for their milk tea? I guess I will, but properly once or twice a year, even though I'm a bobaholic and tend to get milk tea every week. Since the first experience went so well, I decided to come back to Phuc Long and get the Phuc Long Milk Tea again, but the difference between this time and last time was almost night and day. The first thing I noticed was how short the line was. Lines were wrapping around the corner on some days before, but I guess the popularity went down. When I got my drink, the first sip already tasted super different than the first time. It was really bitter and left a bitter taste in my mouth. The boba was also a bit on the mushy side. It's just... okay I guess. Service - 1/5. So you do get a beeper thing when you order but it seems they don't even bother to check if it's charged before doing so. Ended up waiting 25 minutes for our drinks which we chalked it up to them being "busy". We saw drinks set aside waiting up there but assumed that it was waiting for more drinks or something as who would keep paging it and not even attempt to call a number after 10+ minutes? Drink - 2/5 I got the Phuc Long Milk Tea w/ Boba, and I think it's sorta similar to a nutty milk tea which is good and all, still slightly sweeter at 50%, but the worst part was biting into the boba halfway through the drink and finding a random plastic piece stuck in the boba. Boba was also slightly bland for being "brown boba" which I assume to be brown sugar(?) and slightly soggy. Pricing is fairly high for boba/milk teas, especially with $1 topping for some reason. Store set up is kind of weird, we waited in line behind others and it wasn't busy at the time so only ~2-3 in line, but apparently the "line" was actually an aisle over, so essentially we got ignored even though we were there first. Phu Long is a famous tea shop from Vietnam that's now in San Jose (no surprise) with another location in SoCal. I went on a Friday afternoon and luckily beat the line. It took 10 minutes altogether to order and receive my drink. Inside, the decor was decorated with lots of greenery for ambiance. The staff were nice, but the server seemed new and unsure about certain toppings when I asked about them. I tried their Lychee Lotus Tea, one of their top sellers, but found it mediocre for $8. It was refreshing, but lacked the "wow" factor. There was 4 lychee pieces, but the lychee flavour was barely there. I've never tried Phuc Long in Vietnam or the OC so I don't have anything to compare to, but I would give this place 3/5. I came here on a Saturday afternoon and waited around 40-50 minutes to order and get my drink. I thought the interior was nicely decorated and had a variety of ample seating. There was also seating in front but the tables and chairs were super low/small. They also had a cute photo op area with background decorations and props, but it was right next to the entrance so there wasn't any space to actually use it. I got an iced Phuc Long milk tea and my boyfriend got the lychee jasmine/lotus tea. The first sip of the milk tea threw me off because it still tasted warm. After a few swirls, it tasted cold and I got a better sense of the flavor. It tasted like a standard sweet milk tea but super bitter. The lychee jasmine tea included a few pieces of whole lychee (which I loved) and tasted better and more refreshing than the milk tea, but it still had a really bitter aftertaste. Personally, I'm not a fan of the bitter aftertaste so I wouldn't get these drinks again. I want to come back and try their blended coconut coffee, but I'll wait until the hype dies WAY down since I don't think the wait is worth it. read more

People say the drinks here are overpriced, but honestly drinks all over SJ are about $6-8 already. We tried the cloudy lotus tea and the coconut coffee blend. The tea was refreshing and a great balance with the cloudy foam. Coconut blend was very unique and definitely a great drinks on a hot day. Phuc Long is located in Vietnam Town in San Jose. This is a very busy plaza, especially on weekends and weeknights, so parking may be hit or miss. If you do not mind parking further away, there is more parking by the back end of the plaza. I came on a weekday afternoon and it was not that busy at that time - not much service, my order was quickly taken and I received my drink within 5-8 minutes or so. I found this spot by accident when I drove by to find parking. The logo / name looked familiar and when I doubled checked that they had boba, I decided to grab a quick drink. I ordered a Cloudy Jasmine Milk Tea with boba, which is their version of a jasmine milk tea. Their tea was definitely very strong for those who love a stronger tea - not my thing, as I prefer my milk teas on the creamier side, but when you mix and stir the cream very well, then it is pretty creamy and smooth. I ordered the Phuc Long Milk Tea with tapioca $7.50 E X P E N S I V E (Nothing wrong with an expensive drink if the quality met up to the price, as with anything) The milk tea itself was lack luster, very basic flavor, tea tasted over boiled The boba was undercooked, outside was nice and squishy, the center was hard. Straight from Vietnam and finally in the US, they have a wide range of refreshing drinks! I got the Lychee Lotus. Probably the most refreshing drink I've ever had. The fruity flavors are strong without being too sweet and there's a slight cooling/menthol like effect in the actual drink. It's a standard sized drink but it was almost $9. This place is good but I would say it is a bit more pricey than what I had hoped. As much as I loved my drink, the price would definitely hold me back from coming as often as there are places that are just as good with a lower price point. The service here was good. The line was a bit long but moved quickly and the drinks came out within a reasonable amount of time. read more

We got less sweet on both drinks but both were so sweet they were undrinkable and we ended up tossing them both. The cafe itself was cute but would not recommend coming here for coffee.
