I love this place. When I went to Vietnam this place was everywhere and I am glad they have two locations in California especially one in Vietnam town which is very convenient. Drinks are very standard and a wee bit pricey but I still love it anyway. The workers are very nice and speak both English and Viet. I was really looking forward to trying this place because it is a Vietnamese coffee/tea shop chain that originated from Vietnam and was hoping it would be our new go to stop. However, unfortunately, it wasn't the case. The line wasn't super long when we came around noon on Sunday, but it got really long after we got in line. The shop inside was also really crowded and bustling with all the seating occupied which was to be expected. The line went by fairly quick and the person taking our order was nice. We got the Lychee Lotus Tea and the Vietnamese Milk Coffee. We waited around 20-30 minutes for our drinks. They have a buzzer that they give you for when your drink is ready. The Lychee Lotus Tea was $7.25 which was really expensive. The drink itself was diluted and did not have a lot of tea at all. The lychee flavor was barely there unfortunately as well, but had 5 lychees in it which didn't make up for the lack of flavor. The Vietnamese Milk Coffee was where I hoped they would excel better at, but sadly it was burnt in taste and it was bitter and very dark in color tasting no milk/condensed milk at all. My boyfriend and I were walking around Vietnam Town and he suggested that I'd try this new spot out because it's popular back in Vietnam. I got the Lychee Tea with brown boba and he ordered the Peach Tea. Both were refreshing however the price is a bit steep in terms of how much you're getting, it seemed like a size medium compared to a standard large size drink here in the states. I've tried the blended coconut coffee and the clouded lotus tea. I've enjoyed both. I do think the coconut coffee is good, and it has a strong coconut flavor. However, there are a lot of places who can replicate this drink, so I wouldn't voluntarily wait in the line just for this drink. I heard about this place from a friend. I heard they originated from Vietnam so I just had to try it. When I went the line was long but we got our drinks fairly quickly. They are well organized. Finally went to try this place out and see what the hype was all about and tbh didn't live up to it. It isn't anything special I can get any where else. I ordered the cloudy jasmine which was good I could use a little more cloud but can't go wrong with this.. nothing that blew my mind. The only have crystal boba and brown boba no regular boba. Also got the coconut coffee blended drink and it was mid. Tasted like coffee then had little hints of coconut but not much. I heard great things about this place in socal and was so excited to try it in the south bay. This place is so hyped up but it was a let down for sure. Their top 8 drinks didn't seem that great but it must've been a top 8 for a reason right? I opted to try the Phuc Long milk tea which is suppose to be a Jasmine tea infused with condensed milk normal sweetness and ice. Ordered the Lychee jasmine lotus tea drink. I ordered half sweet and it was too sweet, I think because of the lychee syrup that comes when they add the lychee pieces. My friend ordered 0% sweetness which was more to my liking. You can definitely taste the "bitterness" of the tea with the no sweetness which I enjoyed. Dude. Phuc Long got me all the way Phuc'd up. I usually never leave bad reviews but this place really left a terrible taste in my mouth and it wasn't just the tea. I ordered the Oolong with Flan and the tea tasted rancid and overly bitter (and I enjoy bitter tea). I asked them to switch it out because I actually liked my friend's Phuc Long milk tea but they started pressing me about what was wrong with it and just said no. For a chain, you'd think they would understand that it'd be better to keep a customer happy by replacing their EIGHT DOLLAR DRINK with one they actually like, but no. VERDICT: Mid and expensive I am the type of person to try anything once, no matter what I hear or see about a place. This was one of those times- I saw the hype online and wanted to know if it was worth it or not. Lychee Jasmine Lotus Tea - tastes like lychee juice and jasmine tea. Came with lychees, but not $7.25 worth of them Peach Black Tea - tastes like if you put the Costco canned peach juice in black tea. It also came with peach slices that I chose not to eat because it was too labor-intensive. Also had to get it 50% sweet and it was still pretty sweet. If you really want to try a peach black tea, you can get the Peach, Please at Tisane- it tastes the same, if not better. It was just too expensive for what it was. I know that when you go to Chi Cha San Chen and pay ~$8.00, you'll get a fragrant tea taste and a topping of your choice (don't get me wrong, CCSC is also very expensive), but somehow, that is still 100% more justifiable than a drink at Phuc Long. It was just average at best. I would not come back due to the price alone. I can see Phuc Long appealing to older Vietnamese audiences, the decor was nice and reminiscent of modern-day Vietnam. But if you are not in that older crowd that wants a place to sit and chat with your friends for hours, this is not the place for you. There are definitely some hits and misses from phuc luong, I think you just have to experiment and hope you get the right one. I was craving some type of vietnamese coffee, and wanted to try out the vietnamese black coffee because a friend of mine doesn't like coffee with cream or milk. This coffee was STRONG but if you're into that then you will absolutely love this. I want to say that it was slightly sweetened, but not to the level of your traditional vietnamese coffee with condensed milk. Went back Tuesday night. Came in like right before closing. I get that they were probably looking forward to going home/getting off, but I ordered a house milk tea with 25% ice and they were stingy on the amount they gave to me. I saw the cup once they handed it to me (and it felt very light), didn't think too much of it honestly so I just grabbed it and left but I probably should have said something. I was so excited when they first opened! This a famous coffee shop in Vietnam which carries a variety of coffees and teas. I'm still working my way through the menu. I tried most of their teas which are strong in tea flavor and have a fragrant fruit taste. Id recommend their peach tea lychee jasmine tea and the lucky tea. I've had their cloudy coffee which is creamy and strong. Their bac xiu is strong and milky. I also had their ham and cheese croissant and it was perfectly warm and crispy. They're popular for both their coffee and teas but since I don't drink coffee I decided to try there house named tea "Phuc Long Milk Tea". I heard their drinks run pretty sweet so I decided to go with 50% sweet and less ice which they call 25% ice . Their drinks are always put in large cups and now I know why that is. If you ask for less ice, they don't give you more drink they literally give you less ice. The ice in this particular drink would serve two purposes: 1) to help balance the sweetness of the drink a little bit and 2) The drink was actually still hot when I received it so the ice would have cooled it down.
