Angel Wings.

Mom and I (along with pup in tow) ran a ton of errands one fine SoCal morning, which is prolly why our hunger pangs kinda kicked in a bit early. We were within a mile radius, so being in the area AND having the pup, we had to find a dog-friendly spot for grub. This is the one that popped up first (I'm guessing it's because it's the closest.) Made a reservation, came through a few minutes early, but was welcomed in and seated by staff immediately. We were the first ones seated at the patio, so we got to choose where to go - we opted to sit all the way at the end (given the pup and all.) [[HIGHLIGHT]]Nice tropical themed decor, but what we appreciated more is that fresh and cool breeze coming from the ocean.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]So here's a teenee tip: if you plan on eating at their patio, bring a light sweater/jacket. It tends to get cold in this here 'hood![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We must have been hungry because we were good to order within a couple of minutes! ANGEL WINGS: A must-have whenever I see it on the menu. Came through nice and hot. The stuffing was seasoned very nicely. Nice crunch on the outside, moist in the inside. So off to a good start! WONTON SOUP: Been craving for this but wanted to experience it here. Mediocre at best. Broth didn't really have depth. Wonton was delish, though, so there's that. I will admit I have a favorite place for this particular dish. Sadly, the version here didn't come close. MONGOLIAN BEEF LUNCH SPECIAL: I realized after I ordered this that it's more a Chinese dish. (Woops...) That said, I didn't expect much which ended up being a good thing. I think my senses got a little confused because it isn't even close to what I'm used to. Seasoning was good but something was missing and couldn't quite put my finger on it... ... but the tom yum broth was FIRE. My taste buds were dancing as I tasted the many complex flavors. Really liked that part of my lunch. THAI BBQ CHICKEN: Mom's choice. This was also a disappointment. Every piece of chicken in the plate was drier than the Sahara. It's as if they did a quick thaw of the chicken from the freezer, smeared seasoning (which was good, won't deny that) and grilled it. We felt like it was a waste of seasoning. Not recommending. We washed it all down with Thai iced tea which was perfect! FOOD: 3. (The lunch special soup, Thai iced tea and the angel wings were the saving grace here.) SERVICE: 5. Our server was so friendly and amazing! I'm bummed I didn't catch her name! VALUE: 3. PARKING: Private lot shared at the back. I believe street parking is also available. OVERALL: 3.5. It was an okay but could be better first run. If I were to come back, it'd be for those Angel wings, but I will come back and try something else. Will update review as needed.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Ambiance very pretty it was like we were in Thailand![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Staff very nice but not as attentive but it's okay. We ordered pad ke mao which was honestly so good, also ordered ginger fish which was bland but not bad and spicy eggplant wasn't as spicy and the eggplant wasn't as flavorful but still okay. Would def come back to try other dishes!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Decor was Thai traditional.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Became busy as the night progressed.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Service was a little slow but it was Valentine's Day. The food was decent and plenty, which they had asked us for spice level, it was not spicy at all

to-go items: pad thai and pad se ew

was a little worried to try out this spot but the photos looked great so I'm really glad I did. It's a solid thai spot, they make everything without spice so please ask for spice if you want it! Would definitely be back, the takeout portions were big too! $15.75 each. and they have an awesome lunch special and happy hour. lots of free parking on the side street.

Everything about this place is really wonderful, not sure why it's not reflected in the average review score. If you like Thai food, give this place a try!

Scrumptious lunch with Pad Thai, Pad See Ew, tofu Masaman Curry. tom yum soup & salad are included with all lunch specials.

This is now our favorite Thai restaurant, as the food is delicious with authentic flavors! We loved the lunch specials with pad Thai and the pad see ew were fantastic! The tofu red curry and the tom yum soup were yummy too. Everything was made care by Jeri and her cooks! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The decor was tropical with a relaxing vibe[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] , had good service by Nina ... for sure, we will return for dinner soon. Kudos to owners Mai & Dan for re-opening this restaurant & continuing the legacy of this place!

Steamed Clams

Had such a great experience here! The service was great - friendly and attentive. We got the green papaya salad, crab fried rice and yellow curry -- all were very good. The curry has just the right seasoning and flavorful. Highly recommend this restaurant! P

Awful food. Tasteless. Expensive. Terrible service. To top it off no lunch specials on the weekend. Much better places to go.

I ordered the veggie tempura bowl and it came with onions, mushroom, egg plant, shishito pepper, seaweed, pumpkin, and a soft boiled egg. Although the price is a bit steep for tempura it's worth it. The egg is my favorite love piercing it and mix it with my rice. So delicious!

They had 2 bento box options here and I got the Bento Box A ($19.99). It came with teriyaki salmon, burdock salad, fresh salad, shrimp tempura, pumpkin, shishito, and mushroom tempura. The side was a choice of rice or soba or upgrade to California roll for $1 or Salmon roll for $2. I went with the California roll. Here are my thoughts: Tempura: for all the hype around this, I thought it was ok. 3.5/5 stars Salmon teriyaki: it was a typical salmon teriyaki. It got cold quickly, but I think that is my fault since I kept taking pictures of the food. 3.4/5 stars Meatballs: first time trying Japanese meatballs and I thought it had a nice balance of sweet and savory. 4/5 stars Fresh salad: it was fresh. 4/5 stars California roll: it was ok and nothing to write home about. 3/5 stars Miso soul: it's definitely miso alright! 3/5 stars Service was minimal since it's food court food. The food was a pretty average experience, but the prices are restaurant prices. I guess it is worth a try if you really love tempura.

The panko crumbs on the chicken was nice and light. It was perfectly fried and not too hard/over crispy. The meat was also juicy. My toddler ate 3 large pieces of it and kept complimenting how tasty it was. The kim chi fried rice had a great fried egg in it and had great flavor. Even the side of rice was delicious! It was moist and sticky without being overcooked. The bad: I didn't get to experience the food court dining in the grocery store. The interesting: The dishes came with a side salad with orange dressing, pickled yellow radish, and some citrus wedges. The dishes came with 3 pickled side dishes (including kim chi). and a soup.

Probably because it's Korean, in a Korean supermarket, where the competitors that folded shop were not always. Other stands also had a freshness issue - not much turnover as most visitors want Korean. Each time I shop at HMart, I see big soup bowls from Hansol. And I think, as a giant soup lover, I need to get me some. It always looks so good. Unfortunately, it does not taste as good as it looks. For example, the 2 rib special looks fantastic but the meat is tough to eat. The noodles are flat, need some flare. The rice bowls lack flavor. I see all these glowing reviews and know I'm swimming against the tide. Probably sacrilege for me to say that the Hmart prepared food tastes better than this restaurant... but I find this to be the case. The prices - not great. You pay for the convenience of being in a market. Counterintuitive as the ambience is what what you'd expect to pay for.

Food was HOT & of course made to order. I did burn my tongue.... But it's okay I had a cold Thai tea to help suppress that burn. Thai tea 4/5 -- on the sweeter side for me. But still carries that robust Thai flavor to it. Spicy chicken 5/5 -- huge kick to it. Looks innocent... is deadly. I loved the spiciness. I'm all about spice so this was really nice to try. Shrimp fried rice 5/5 -- I can't believe a shrimp fried this rice... it's splendid. Uh-mah-zing. We love her. Perfect shrimp to rice ratio. Not too salty. Perfect amount of umami 12pc shrimp dumplings-- 4/5 oooo they were HOT. Flavor could be improved a bit, but otherwise texture and quality was delightful. Parking is in the plaza.
