I'm surprised I've not reviewed this place before. This restaurant is so nice looking & rustic from the outside. Inside, clean, well lit & spacious. Everyone on their staff seems positive, nice, efficient & helpful! Everyone! We met my parents here for happy hour. So fun! The guys liked the one & only beer on their limited happy hour menu. Which also includes 3 other drinks with alcohol. We tried their: French fries 5+stars; Calamari 5 stars & bruschetta(too small, but) 5 stars; meatballs & pizza 3 stars. So now we know You need to sit in the bar area, counter or bar tables to order from their happy hour menu. The bar area was not overly crowded, but 80% full the entire time. If they had a couple more drinks on that happy hour menu, it'd be rocking I think.

5/5 Amazing restaurant!!! Made a reservation here for my birthday and got seated at a two seater for my mom and I. The host was very friendly with us throughout the night and you even get a special birthday card for your birthday! Makes you feel special haha. We came around 5pm on Friday and it's packed! Make sure to make a reservation or you might not even get seated. We ordered the margarita pizza, meatball, and shrimp pasta. Pizza: It's ok, my mom really liked it, but personally the dough was a bit too flimsy and not too my liking. I still enjoyed it though! 3/5 Meatballs: Two big sized meatballs in a hot skillet with sauce. Honestly, what sold me was the sauce more than the meatball. It tastes like vodka sauce but I think they added crack! I would enjoy a dish here if it was pasta with the sauce. 5/5 Shrimp pasta: The noodles are hand made here and I can definitely tell as it's very authentic and the texture is great! The sauce is very yummy as well but it had too much of a shrimp/prawn flavor for me. However, my mom absolutely loved this dish. 4/5 Bread: the bread here isn't free, but it's 100% worth it. I think it's the balsamic vinegar sauce + olive oil sauce that really makes it special too. They added garlic and seasoning and parsley(?) but I ended up eating all of the sauce!!! Do not skip! 5/5 The ambience is great as it's cozy but the restaurant is big. The servers check up on you and are attentive as well. And again, the hostess was so nice to us! I would definitely come here again for a special event :)

Came to dinner to celebrate a friend's birthday, and the place was packed. Despite the crowd, service was very good with our waiter making sure he took our order promptly, food was prepared as requested, and that our drinks and waters were filled. We all enjoyed our dinner. Highlights included the pugliese bread with piatti dipping oil, the rigatoni bolognese, and diavola pizza which were all recommended by our waiter.

Really good steak, pasta, and good portions as well. We sat outside where the ambiance was a little more pleasing than their indoor diner.

Lovely and elegant place for celebration of our marriage anniversary! Delicious food as always. Sometimes we went at the bar area and the service was a little late with bad response (lady at the bar) but for our special dinner was excellent

The food was amazing. Pasta dishes are delicious as well as the chicken panini for lunch. Salads are great, enjoyed the beets and arugula. Service was spectacular most acknowledgment is to the amazing first impression made by the person who greets. She was very welcoming and made the initial experience delightful. Our server did a great job as well. Not to pleased with the bartender he did not make it a comfortable experience to the point where I chose not to order anything from the bar. Ambiance was beautiful inside and out.

This is a return visit review and I have to say, everything was such a major improvement. I am glad I went back and gave them another chance. We went for Father's Day too and the restaurant was absolutely packed. However, that didn't affect the food quality or service one bit. As usual, the service was wonderful, from the hostess to the rest of the staff! Our server was Patricia, and she was just such a breath of fresh air...friendly, funny, and just full of joy. The fritto misto was so delicious. The calamari wasn't rubbery or hard at all. The aioli it comes with had a mild kick to it as well from the Calabrian chili and it was just perfect. My parents both ordered the Petrale Sole and they loved their dishes. I ordered the chicken picatta and it was delicious. The chicken had a lovely sear on it and all the portions were very generous for all our entrees. I need to revisit the bread and dipping oil from my last review/visit. It was night and day this time. The bread was soft on the inside with a nice flaky crust on the outside! The dipping oil was full flavor as well. I think we had bad luck last time. We also ordered the white chocolate bread pudding, tiramisu, and vanilla bean gelato for dessert. Each one was 10/10. The inside was lovely as always and we had a nice cozy booth that they were so nice to reserve for us because I had requested it on my reservation. I know during special occasions, it can be hard for them to accommodate seating requests, but they were very mindful and cared to do that for their customers.

This was my second time dining at this lovely establishment. During my last visit, I enjoyed their perfectly cooked salmon with a salad, but this time I was craving carbs, so I decided to try the Bucatini. I definitely went overboard with the carbs, consuming about five loaves of bread before my pasta came. The dipping sauce that accompanies the bread is absolutely phenomenal. The service was excellent, and I had a wonderful time with our clients. I can't wait to see you all again!

I came back to Piatti's for a double date and discovered a new favorite- the skillet prawns. I still think about them to this day and would come back literally for this dish. My perfect three course here would be the skillet prawns, rigatoni, and bread pudding. My boyfriend tried a spicy tomato sauce bucatini which unfortunately was extremely bland. The menu seems hit or miss here, but I would still recommend trying their star dishes.

    Old Fashioned.

Do you. have a Mother's Day menu?

Yes we have a special menu. I am happy to send it to you.

    Is there a happy hour?

    No.

    Are there any vegan options?

Several and they can easily modify the menu.

Do they substitute whole wheat pasta?

Do you have gluten free menu?

    Yes. With many Options!

Can they accommodate 16 people ? Like is there a private room

Yes they can. I had a group of 15 but I would call in advance for a reservation. I believe they do have a private room but that's booked in advance and you have to spend a minimum amount.

Is there a brunch service available on the weekend?

I don't believe so, but they do have some options only available before 3pm. They also have great food and drink!

How many servings are the family style meals?

They are technically listed as four, but I find that they are very very very generous! A hungry family of 6 could easily be fed and happy from one family style meal.… Read more

    What is corkage fee?

If i remember correctly they charge somewhere between 15 to 20 per bottle for corkage. They often waive the corkage fees for us and sometimes we share some wine with the servers.

Are there any non dairy options?

Hmm, might be a little limited but I imagine you can ask. Cross check the menu.

Do you have a kids dinner menu? Thanks

Yes....they can build their own pizzas at the table. Other dishes available as well.

Do they have a tv in the bar area? Thank you for the answer

    Yes!

Do they serve cheese wheel pasta?

Last time I was there it was not on the menu. But they have daily specials so you never know

Can I buy just the bread?

Does not hurt to ask them.

I had hoped that what I read from a 1-star Yelp review about having reservations, then finding out…read morethis restaurant is closed, was only a rare occasion. I did not even think to alert my friends about what I read because I thought after reading other Yelp reviews and looking up their Instagram posts with beautiful photos and people looking like they were enjoying this restaurant, that what was described in that 1-star review must have been a rare occurrence. Boy was I wrong because to my dismay when we arrived at their restaurant door last evening, it happened to us and I did not want to believe it, but all the evidence was there to show they were in fact, CLOSED. Two other customers and our group arrived at the same time in advance of our 6pm reservation time, only to see their door closed, lights off, with nobody inside. We were confused not only because we did not receive a message notifying us that their restaurant would be closed and our reservation needed to be canceled, but also because the customers who arrived when we did said they had booked their reservation yesterday, meaning the reservation system was still active. What's more is we did not see any signage on their door or windows about being closed, but instead we saw an EBMUD notice on the door stating water service payment was overdue, which we were not expecting to see upon our arrival. Our group needed to quickly figure out a plan B for our birthday celebration dinner, as our friend had planned and reserved The Library Social Club over a month ago. I dine at many restaurants and any time there needs to be a change or cancelation for any reason by a restaurant business, I have received an e-mail, a text, or a phone call alert, as a customer courtesy call, and I have at the very least, even seen hand written notes on restaurant doors and windows as signage alerting customers of their business being closed. Needless to say, we were disappointed and frustrated by this incident today. We drove from out of town to try this restaurant that was not even open when customers had reservations. Fortunately, our friend proposed a different restaurant that we could walk to and they sat us promptly upon arrival. We enjoyed their delicious food instead!

The seating options were disappointing as the benches along the wall had no cushioning and the couch we selected instead had flat, sinking cushions. The music was too loud for reasonable discussion with my friend, though the server did lower the volume at my request. I had a tasty flight of sparkling wines and the server gave a speedy, short introduction to the pours. My largest disappointment came with the arrival of the check. Despite signage outside the establishment that implied the opposite, I was informed that wine flights were *not* included in happy hour pricing. I found the messaging exceedingly unclear, and of course, there's no mention of happy hour on the menu nor did the server share the happy hour options when we were seated. It was a disheartening end to a midling experience up until that point. It's not that this place is terrible, it's just not that good and in this economy, that is a must. I will not be returning.

The ambiance is cute with a small closed off glass area of wine and two seater table inside! Our waitress Dominique was amazing. She was able to give great recommendations for wines and food. She also made us feel taken cared of and was friendly/warm. The food is a mix of mexican/euro/american so there were a lot of different options. Here are the things we got: Appetizers - Parm crusted cauliflower: so good, nice and crunchy but not too heavily breaded. The chipotle mayo was delish - Chicharrones: so light and crispy! They were hot out of the fryer. It had a side of a corn cheese dip that was so good and made it more unique of a dish -- must try if you even kind of eat chicharrones. I don't generally like pork skin but I enjoyed it regardless. - Hamachi ceviche: this is a large sharing portion with chunks of hamachi and avocado. Good but not a must have. Entrees - Enchiladas: very cheesy and overall a good dish but I would skip this. - Shrimp tostadas: large size shrimp and it just comes with two tostadas so I don't think it was worth the price - Barramundi fillet: The fish was tender and juicy. I liked the marinades that came with it. I liked this dish with the rice because it made me feel homey. Good portion of fish. - Agua Chile Ribeye: This is a must have! The ribeye is sous vide so it was soo tender and juicy. The broth was really nice to keep everything moist and flavorful. Because we were celebrating a birthday, Dominique made a dessert with a nice special touch. Will definitely be back again!

When my friend and I shared a plate, he made his disapproval known. I'm happy to pay a split fee. Just don't make me feel judged for it -- especially when the table ordered plenty of wine/cocktails, entrees, desserts, sides, and bottled water. Speaking of which: I asked for still, bottled water. He brought tap. When I followed up, he arrived with a single small Aqua Panna -- tap glasses still on the table. When I pointed out one bottle wasn't enough for our party, he dropped two more without pouring any of them. We now had twelve glasses of water crowding the table and not one filled -- except for the tap. That pattern held all night. Empty wine glasses, cocktail glasses, dirty plates -- nothing was ever proactively cleared. Everything required asking. Repeatedly. He also cleared across guests rather than walking around the table. Basic. But the most serious issue: at the start of dinner, he asked about allergies. One guest clearly stated a walnut and pecan allergy. He then brought out a dessert containing pecans. That's not an oversight. That's a liability. We tipped generously anyway... But it wasn't earned tonight. Esin has always been a place I look forward to when I'm back in town.
