She recommended dishes, checked on us when necessary, and accommodated is very well! Fist time here: it's a cozy place in Sacramento. The service was great and the food (Radiatore) was Ok.

I stopped in solo for a little pizza and wine (sorry, Italians) and thought Piatti was solid. I can't comment on many items across the menu, but the wood-fired pizza was pretty solid. I had the broccoli rabe pizza and it's large - enough food for two people easily. It was good - nice bitter broccoli rabe, salty, savory sausage, spicy nduja and that amazing wood-fired flavor. Only a couple of minor complaints - the broccoli rabe seems to have been par-boiled and it was wet, which made the pizza soggy. It would've been way better to have used a dry heat cooking method, even charring it a little. Brassicas love a little char (IMO). Also, the pizza was a touch too salty, but again, these are minor complaints that I think if addressed, would've made the pizza even better! They also have a solid selection of wine by the glass and a decent bottle list. My only complaint is that I wouldn't really consider different vintages of the same wine interchangeable. A 2016 has some bottle age vs a current vintage wine. I almost didn't catch that before opening but am glad I did. If I'm in the area again and looking to offend the Italians by drinking wine with my pizza, I'd definitely stop by Piatti again! read more

Classy Italian restaurant. A perfect date night location. Too bad we were here for a work event and had a set menu, but I can't wait to come back and try the full menu. Appetizers consisted of meat skewers and hummus smeared crostini. Salad and bread provided. The spinach raviolis were great! And the seared salmon was so elegantly presented- it looked like a work of art! But my favorite part? The tiramisu. Just wow. I went here to enjoy a dinner with a friend on 3 April 2025. We were going to a preplanned dinner to listen to a lecture. Each person had to pick a meal of their choice my friend chose the rosemary chicken and I think some side dishes I chose a pasta with braised pork. Before my friend came, I sat down at the bar and had happy hour meatballs with polenta, which were fantastic I would give those four stars. The bartender was great and my drink was really really good. It started going downhill when my friend and I were seated for our dinner.The small salad that came with the dinner was really good and the dressing was particularly tasteful. My friend's chicken was not cooked and I asked her how her sides were and she said she was afraid to try th M as they had touched the meat. She said she did not want to send it back but instead would take it home and cook it. My meatballs of braised pork were very good. However, the noodles stuck together because they were not rinsed properly. The cupcake dessert was quite fantastic. It was like a chocolate volcano, but not that mushy with chocolate and it had berries in it. I think I will go back to Pedi's especially for happy hour and I might order an entrée just to see if the pasta is g Rood enough to go back again.n read more

Really nice at night with outdoor seating and lights going up the trees. Very relaxing and could be perfect for a romantic dinner or just a casual place to have a drink with a friend and chat. Staff is very friendly and come around often so you aren't waving around to get someone. Food is fresh and you can literally taste it!! The pasta is something you'll have to experience on your own, but trust me when I say it's delish. My plate of ravioli didn't seem like much when I got it but it was so creamy and tasty. Such a cute little place that's tucked away in a shopping plaza. I did have a hard time finding it at first, but once I got there I was astonished by the atmosphere. My #3 FIVE STAR review of this wonderful restaurant! Yes, I am a huge fan of Piatti's at the Pavillions! The "it" factor puts it squarely at the top of my favorite list of Sacramento eateries. And for me, "it" translates to quality of food, ambiance, customer service and price point. Definitely a solid five star rating for each of these categories! Food Personally every menu item I have ever had has been excellent. Not just good...excellent! Occasionally one dines at a restaurant and has a fabulous meal. You return expecting that same great experience with a particular food item. And it is just not. This has happened to me many times and I am always so sad and let down. Never, ever have I ever had this experience here! And a note to the Chef... Bravo for the incredible pear bread pudding...TDF! Ambiance There is no restaurant which rivals the "casual" elegance of Piatti's! Whether you are visiting during the day light or night time...each is magical . All the glass makes for an incredibly open and airy feel. The bar area with its high top tables is so cozy yet gives a view of the entire restaurant making for such a vibrant setting. Two dining areas from which to choose. And one is a most beautiful, closed off, all window attrium-type setting looking thru to the beautiful out door patio! And oh that patio......! Such a private place. The soothing sounds from the water feature and tiny lites twinkling everywhere. Heaven! Customer Service Piatti's is heads above everyone in this most important area. No matter how great the food or ambiance may be, we all know how devastating a poor customer service experience can be. Right? I LOVE all the employees at Piatti's. Not sure how Piatti's manages to find the best of the best people but they do! And a big thank you for that! You always feel very special when you are at Piatti's. That is just how they roll. It must be in their DNA :-). I have seen them come and go ( I so miss original Emily LOL but I can walk across the Pavilions Courtyard and see her in another venue :-).. to the new Emily who is so fantastic and Hart who just left sadly but good for him! I have been in this parking lot many times, and never realized this was here. Turns out it's been here for a very long time. We were greeted by the bartender who had been there for 12 or 15 years, and he makes amazing drinks. We were seated in the bar for dinner because they were full, and I was a little hesitant at first, because I really wanted to have a nice romantic sit down meal. It didn't disappoint. All of the staff was incredibly friendly, and the bartender was our waiter. He was so knowledgeable about the food, and gave us fantastic recommendations. The meatballs are to die for, the Fritto Misto (shrimp appetizer) that we initially thought was calamari when we saw it taken to a nearby table was delicious, it was dusted in flour or with a cornmeal or similar coating with a well seasoned spice mix that was tasty but not spicy. There were also slices of lemon, cauliflower and sweet onion pieces the same way in the basket. We shared the Caesar salad which was unique and awesome, definitely well worth getting again. Both of our entrées were fantastic as well, but we ended up taking home the majority since we had already overdone it on the starters, A little harder to report on those since they were eaten reheated the next day, but the few bites we had of the fresh pasta dishes were spot on, al dente, but tender pasta, I'm making myself hungry thinking about it all, LOL! If you like a lemon drop, I had one of the best ones I've had and I am quite the connoisseur, definitely try it here with Belvedere. We will be back very soon! read more

I was in Piatti this past Tuesday with a friend of mine. We ordered two glasses of wine, the bartender was not very engaging.... We noticed that the new President of Sacramento state was present and we ordered a glass of prosecco for him and I wrote a message on my business card saying, congratulations on your appointment as president of sacramento state and asked the bartender to please send it over.... The bartender responded very vitriolically that "he did not feel comfortable doing that!!!". We then engaged a server. Tipped him and asked him to deliver the drink and he did so with no issue. The president of sacramento state then approached us and engaged us and thanked us, so nothing was over the top or out of the ordinary but it was greatly appreciated... I then went to the washroom, and upon my return my friend informed me that the bartender engaged everyone at the bar asking if they needed another drink, walked past her with indifference, smiling at everybody else.... I was quite disturbed by this treatment. Needless to say I am very disturbed by this.... without a doubt , I will never go to this piatti's again. We went for a date night. The interior is cute and exactly what we wanted but service was so rushed! Our date was over in under an hour... our entrees arrived before we were even finished with our salad Food: maybe we didn't order well but I wasn't impressed. Caesar salad dressing was anchovy heavy and tasted fishy. The squid ink pasta was bland and needed salt. Husband enjoyed his Campanella with chicken, but in my opinion the chicken was dry. Service: our waitress was so sweet but the kitchen must've just been quick. Our date night was over under an hour. Pretty Good! Piatti's is in the Pavillions shopping center and although there's a lot of parking, you may not get a spot close to the restaurant. This is a very tossy review. Upon entering the place was nice, we were greeted right away and taken to our table quickly. The service was a little slow. We waited to order for about 15 minutes and then our dinners took forever to arrive. When our meals arrived, they didn't come all at once so it was a little awkward on timing. The food was pleasantly appealing visually and everything tasted pretty good- a few dishes came out not so warm so that was a bummer. All in all- it was a nice time but you really have to be patient and not be in a rush because we were there waiting a long time. Our waitress never smiled until the end when she presented our bill - tip time. I'm not sure why people work in the service industry sometimes. read more

Not really sure how many stars to give because the meal and the service were wonderful but when the bill was presented I got hit with a 3% surcharge which was calculated into the subtotal of the bill. I asked the server what the surcharge was for and he gave me some guesses but I don't think he was actually sure. Having paid an extra 3% for our meal, I gave less of a tip than I normally would have. It's not fair to the server, but slapping an additional, vague "Surcharge," onto my tab that I was never told about isn't fair either. Piatti is no Mom and Pop restaurant. They are owned by the Moana Group and have seven stores in three different states. Why they choose to nickel and dime their clientele is beyond me. I was so upset by this less than $3.00 charge I incurred that I posted about it on Facebook last night. The consensus is, when a restaurant does this and doesn't make it apparent to you at the time of ordering that you will be paying more than the published amount for your food, that people will no longer return to the restaurant. Is this what Moana Group wants? And do they want to leave me feeling conflicted about returning because I loved the meal but hated the surprise $2.58 as my dessert? Is that really worth it to them? Wouldn't it make more sense for them charge $28 for an entree instead of $27? They would make a few more cents and retain all of their customers. I am assertive and will voice my dissatisfaction. But how many people won't? How many people just won't return? This was almost me. But instead I phoned the manager. He asked for my check number so he could refund the surcharge. I never keep my receipts but this one I did because I wanted to calculate if I was being taxed on this surcharge. That is how it appears, as the 3% is added to the subtotal and then the tax is added. I didn't think it was legal to be taxed for nothing, so I kept the receipt to pursue that matter with the tax collector office on Monday. But after speaking with the manager and doing the math, I see I wasn't taxed on the surcharge. If I hadn't spoken with the manager I don't think I would have ever returned. I appreciated his pleasant demeanor, that he refunded the Surcharge, and that he removed the two cocktails from my tab and said, "Let Piatti buy you and your friend a drink." This is the type of thing that will have me return; otherwise, Piatti never would have seen my overweight ass again. read more

Our first time here. Heard this was a terrific date night resto. Tonight's bill was covered by a sponsoring biotech company so choices are limited to the menu presented but drinks are whatever we wanted. The salads (cesar & farm) were good, the filet cooked medium and oven roasted king salmon were perfect and the desserts (tiramisu & cheesecake) ended the meal with just enough zest. We had the lemon drop martini and long island iced tea for cocktails and they sure were great. Our server was present enough to make sure our waters & drinks weren't empty. Brought the wife here for special evening. She was super excited. We were seated after a little wait by a nice dark haired host. She sat us down and returned a minute later with water for us. We waited 15 minutes and were never greeted by anyone. We watched a table seated next to us, two minutes after sitting they were greeted and got a drink order in. Overall, enjoyed Piatti very much. The atmosphere is very modern, with a simple Italian menu including pizzas and handmade pastas. The carbonara pizza, which is not something I've ever seen before, had carbonara sauce as the base topped with pancetta, aragula, onion, black pepper, and an egg. Although I am not the biggest fan of carbonara (a little too rich for me) I could see how carbonara-lovers would go crazy for this pizza. I really enjoyed the handmade pasta, and would definitely try the pasta again, if I were to come back. Great Italian restaurant in Sacramento. Sat at the bar and Donna started off with serving a great old fashion (3), and some Homemade bread and the house dip of oil, balsamic, parsley and chili flakes. A good appetizer, frito misto. Honestly big enough for a meal, the biggest surprise was how great the deep fried green olives were. Followed with rigatoni, very nice!
