I have enjoyed many meals at Patti over the years with good food and service. It has been my "go to" for lunch or early dinner when I am shopping at Pavilions. This most recent mid-afternoon visit on Saturday, September 6, however, was very different. I was greeted and promptly seated at a patio table by the hostess and told the server would be with me shortly. Due to the time of day there were only about four occupied tables. I waited about 10-15 minutes with no service before going inside to inform the hostess that I was still waiting. She apologized, said she would send another server immediately, walked me back to the table and brought some water. I waited another 10 minutes with no other service before leaving. My experience was very puzzling as the table next to me received excellent service from a very attentive server checking on them and attending to their requests numerous times as I sat waiting. After leaving Piatti, I ended up enjoying good service and a great meal at another restaurant in Pavilions. Maybe they will be my "go-to" on future visits. read more

My family and I visited Piatti's one Sunday evening to celebrate my sons recent graduation. He wanted Italian and we selected Piatti based on the reviews. So we made reservations for 5:00 for our party of 7. When we arrived there was two tables in use. We were sat on the covered patio but we requested to be moved inside due to the heat. We were told because of other reservations the best they could do was the high tables near the bar. We were fine with that and were promptly moved. The bar tender took our order and we were brought bread with olive oil and balsamic vinaigrette. They added garlic to the mix and it's the best I've had. We ate a lot of bread with that yummy dip. We also ordered the meatballs for the appetizer and oh man, they are great! I would highly recommend them. I ordered the pork chops which came atop a creamy cheese bed. The pork chops had peaches garnished on top which rounded out the amazing dish. I practically licked the plate clean. The pork chop was tender and not dry. My younger son enjoyed a pepperoni pizza. I took a bite...or two...and it was good enough to be had on an adults plate. Rounding out other dishes was a salad my son and wife enjoyed, grilled chicken on fruit, and a steak my father said was fantastic. Since we sat by the bar and only two more tables were seated by the time we left, I didn't really get a good feel for the ambience. From what I saw of the dining room it looked nice but maybe a little too casual. Again, we weren't sat there due to other reservations but the place was pretty much empty when we left. Maybe next time we can be seated there to feel the true vibes. I really liked Piatti's and for the size of our party I was amazed how cheap my tab was. The quality and taste of the food far out weighs the price. Piatti's is a good deal especially with rising costs in most other restaurants. I highly recommend Piatti's. read more

Came here for an in service from Biotronik regarding pacemakers so tab was taken cared of by the company and we were seated in their private room. Service was prompt, food and drink choices were also very good. It was a set menu from starters to main dish to dessert and drinks of your choice was unlimited as well. I had the farm salad for my starter, main dish was the king salmon and had the mascarpone cheesecake for dessert. Hubby had the caesars salad the filet steak and the tiramisu for dessert although we did share it. He ordered a couple of drinks, i tried the lemon drop, he also tried the long island iced tea. We recently went here for my daughter's birthday. It was 11 of us at three tables outdoors. The bill was well over $600 plus tips. Great atmosphere & band. The food was OK. I had the impossible lasagna and enjoyed it. They bring out the ciabatta bread with oil and vinegar for each table and make it seem as if it's complimentary because none of us asked for it. It's just automatically brought out but then at the end of the night on the bill you see that EACH table is charged for the bread. Also, I brought along some cupcakes with me and our server graciously asked if I would like him to take them and bring them back out after we eat. Little did I know that they also charged for that. Again, each table was charged a cutting and plating fee. They were cupcakes, there was nothing to cut. Had I known I would've kept them at the table since I had my own candles and all. This restaurant is pleasantly kid-friendly! The staff gave our 7-year-old son a ball of pizza dough to play with and they were super-friendly to both him and our 12-year-old son! We had a party of women seated next to us who were having a great time but were loud. It didn't really bother us but nonetheless, the servers apologized to us and let us know that the party was going to be leaving soon. This wasn't our first time here so we knew the food is excellent. Had a great time with my Mom for lunch at Piatti today. Light and bright atmosphere with a wonderful outdoor area. The weather was perfect and the waterfall they have was so pleasant. My mom and I shared the pepperoni pizza and the antipasti appetizer, I could have eaten that appetizer all by myself it was delicious. Thank you to the kitchen for the extra tomato jam, that was so delicious I've never had anything like it. And shoutout to the chef who made the pizza I went up to thank him myself. Idk if the neighborhood is wealthy but around opening it was filled with people 55+ who were catching up about their weekends after retirement - felt a bit out of place.The inside space is large, has a lot of high & low seating. The outside patio is spacious and mostly shielded from sun - very popular. My waiter didn't check up on me much - less than mediocre service for a place that presents itself as a higher end restaurant. There were a lot of workers in the front doing a whole lot of staring but not enough staring to make sure customers are being served, this includes the person who looked like the manager. Ciabatta Bread 5/5 : I kid you not - the highlight of this whole meal! It was soooo soft, chewy, and perfectly crisp on the outside. It went so well with their 'signature' dipping oil aka really fragrant evoo and vinegar. Yum! Fritto Misto 4/5 : Thinly battered fried jumbo shrimp and veggies that were crispy and not overly salty (cause cooks do that). The aioli was nicely flavored (didn't just taste like mayo). Rigatoni 3.5/5 : Pork/beef bolognese which I wanted to sub with tagliatelle but was no where to be found on the lunch menu. I came for that - kind of a miss on my part. The meat was tender and lived up to their '6 hour' mention. The rigatoni was cooked al dente which I prefer. As the pasta cooled the acidity came out more and I'm not a big fan of sour tasting red sauce but it's red sauce. Overall, it was good. Meatball (add on) 4/5 : This meatball was flavored really well, juicy and tender. Texturally, it leaned more on the very minced (almost gritty soft) meat than chunky meat. Fortunately, it bonded well through the cooking process and had a medium firmness. I will be getting this appetizer separately next time. It's so unfortunate to go to a restaurant that has good food but lacks good service and quite honestly biased service. Wow! I forgot how awesome this place is! It's been years since I've been there and I'm kicking myself. I met a couple friends for happy hour and the place was packed. I have to say this is one of the best happy hour menus in town. $5 glasses of wine and 6 to $9 of a variety of appetizers including fritto misto, carpaccio, Margherita pizza, meatballs and mozzarella and about five other items that I didn't order. The service was friendly and fast and the food was delicious. I'm definitely going to keep this place on my list for happy hour in the future. I got the rigatoni pasta and it was what you would expect out of the dish! I've never had this complaint before, but the food came out way too fast. Our caesar salad came out literally one minute after we ordered and before our drinks came, and our pasta dishes came out before we could even get half way through the salad. So kudos to them for the super quick service, but we ended up feeling super rushed. Excellent service on an early Wed evening but- Food inedible Husband ordered a. Pasta with shrimp. Could not eat it. The pasta was overwhelming with a thick heavy strange sauce and shrimp atop was not eatable. It was bad or old My romaine salad with chicken. Could not eat. Romaine not fresh and crisp and chicken atop tasted as if chef dipped it in a carton of salt. Not good for kidneys and unable v to eat. Ate dinner with another couple. He had a weird pasta heavy in red sauce with meatballs that tasted like hamburger helper. His wife had an arugula salad with a weird salmon. Did not eat. Nor meatballs who he tried to share with us. We could not eat. I brought home the Chicken from my wilted Caesar salad. Rinsed off all the over seasoning to add to my dogs dinner. They love cooked chicken mixed with their dog food. A nice upscale Italian resteraunt. I have gone several times but only when recommended or chosen by others. The food is okay, but nothing to write home about. Which is probably why I never choose to go there. I've had the Caesar salad, which is very lackluster, same with the mushroom pizza. Go to Blaze & you'll get about the same quality/flavor there. The gnocchi is delicious, however the way it was prepared was not well balanced. It was on a bed of sweet creamed butternut squash & had pepita seeds on it which I loved, but the kale in the dish was sour, & there was some kind of lime juice drizzled on top or something making the dish overall sour. I think they were trying to balance the dish with the sweet squash, however it completely missed the mark and was not pleasant at all. I would not order it prepared that way again. The dessert was delicious though! I had the tiramisu and it was great. Please note if you want to take any of it home, they charge you for the jar it comes in, which they did not tell us upfront. The selection of wine was great. Double check your bill though, as we were overcharged for an extra dessert we had not ordered. read more

Came to Piatti on a Friday night for a family outing, and really enjoyed the food and atmosphere. There was a musician performing with his guitar, which was a pleasant surprise. There aren't too many places in Sacramento that have live music. Now onto the food. I ordered the pappardelle and added meatballs. The pasta was made al dente and the sauce was tasty. The meatballs were great as well. For Sacramento, the Italian food here is pretty good. The restaurant is in a plaza with a decently sized parking lot; however, the plaza can get crowded. We arrived a few minutes before our outdoor reservation (5:15pm) and were seated immediately. The hostess was polite and friendly and soon after being seated our waiter arrived. We received bread and oil/vinegar on the house. The bread was good but not remarkable - reminded me of the fresh bread if you buy it soon after it is baked at Safeway. Right on time, it seemed, we were asked what we wanted to order. We settled on the Rigatoni and Ravioli. On both, we were asked if we wanted to add additional meats on top. My girlfriend is vegetarian so we didn't add anything to her Ravioli (spinach, ricotta, lemon cream, citrus gremolata). I elected to add a meatball to my Rigatoni (six hour pork & beef bolognese, grana, Seka Hills olive oil). Both entrees tasted very good. The ravioli had a distinct but not overpowering lemon taste and the rigatoni had a strong, meaty taste with a generous ratio of meat vs pasta. Both entrees left us with a bit of an appetite so we elected to get dessert. The gelato and cheesecake both were good but not remarkable, perhaps a little better than the quality you'd find at the Nugget. The vibes and atmosphere of the restaurant were pleasant, it had the right amount of ambient noise for a date night and there were string lights and a lit outdoor fountain. The atmosphere is very nice, and the staff cordial, but the food was meh for what you paid and the service was very slow. The prawn pasta was so spicy that it caused the person eating it to sweat! Another person ordered lemon pizza and it was also very spicy. I don't mind a little spice, but that was more than just a little red pepper. You wouldn't expect Italian food to be that spicy. Both were half eaten because the food was so spicy. The servers never asked how the food was, maybe because they knew it was disappointing. Meanwhile, the ravioli I ordered was bland. The gazpacho was good. The service initially was okay, but then when the restaurant emptied out, it became extremely slow (ironically), so that when we ordered Gelato and sorbet, it took 30 minutes to arrive and they were half melted by the time they reached our table. $10.50 is a lot for melted ice cream. I don't think it's worth it to come here for poor service and poorly prepared food. Maybe the bar is better. read more

Before we got our meals I overheard the hostess ask our server to hurry our party because they had another large holiday party coming in. After that it went downhill.
