    Piccolo Nido sat us happily and promptly on a super busy Saturday night! It was refreshing after everywhere else had a 2 hour wait. They had homemade pasta and very authentic second main plates. We really enjoyed the food and experience!

    Amazing spot off the beaten path in the North End. Our table of 4 cleaned our plates, ordered desert, and cleaned those plates too. As we walked in, a patron leaving turned around and told us we were in luck, because this was the best restaurant in the North End. It's a quaint restaurant, with limited tables. Felt like a family owned and operated spot with incredibly friendly service. We were very well taken care of! Reservations are taken as well as limited walk ins. We were fortunate to get a walk in table around 8:30PM on a Saturday. The food was top notch. I ordered the homemade mushroom ravioli and it hit the spot. The sauce was so, so good. Get off the main drag and give this a try. You won't be disappointed.

    Small place off the beaten path on North St. Away from the tourists packed up on Hanover St .... We were greeted by the owner/ chef upon entering ....very friendly waitstaff Apps were a antipasto that was great ...and an eggplant that was tasty. Huge pieces of Italian bread with butter I ordered a unique dish Chicken Frangelica. Two perfectly cooked chicken fillets in a mushroom and frangelica sauce, roasted potatoes and zucchini...very different and tasty. Other orders were a veal Marsala that I'm told was very good ,and another chicken dish that I can't remember the name of. Overall is was an enjoyable experience

    This place is beyond amazing. The owner goes out of his way to make you feel like family. Great wine prices and the best handmade pasta we have ever had!! Get the mushroom pasta!

The menu refers to these as "Greek cheese bread" but somehow that doesn't do it justice - these were immensely pillowy and cheesy, with an amazing crust, with homemade honey butter on the side. I could have had just these for dinner and been satisfied. They really nailed the bread. My other favorites: 1. Hipiti: spicy whipped feta with crispy potatoes on the side. I don't do well with spice but I absolutely loved this. 2. Marouli: winter lettuce with the most amazing vinaigrette dressing. My only knock to this is, presentation-wise, they serve it with half of the plate empty and the other half with salad. I don't understand why restaurants do this because - one, it only highlights the smaller portion and two, we're just going to mix the salad all around in the bowl anyway. 3. Boudeto: daily catch in a beautiful tomato broth. For a seafood dish at a restaurant in Back Bay, this was priced at a fairly reasonable $28. The only dish that fell a little flat for me was the tzatziki - needed a bit more seasoning. As it was, I was eating mostly just plain yogurt. The table-side preparation was cool, though. The space is its own visual dinner, there's simply a lot to look at (including a drawing of Poseidon riding a surf board). We got the big table in the back, which was a beautiful glass structure with a whole terrarium underneath. We couldn't stop marveling at it throughout the meal. Our waiter was wonderful - very helpful recommendations, came by to check on us often even though we were pretty far in the back, super patient with our questions. Hard to get reservations but worth it! Don't bother driving / trying to find parking unless you're willing to eat a hefty garage fee, it's Back Bay.

Even knowing it's a calorie bomb, I couldn't resist dipping it in more. Baccala Mantecato: Classic Venetian flavor. The salted cod was tender and delicate, almost like a light foam, somewhere between raw silk and mousse; the dark bread was simple yet not coarse, perfectly balancing the saltiness of the cod. The most surprising thing was the refreshing aroma of celery leaves that emerged in the aftertaste, lingering and persistent. Lumache: When looking at the menu, seeing "chili butter, Jonah crab, breadcrumb," I never expected such a distinct citric acidity. The subtle acidity was gently enveloped in the fatty aroma of chili butter, perfectly complementing the umami and sweetness of the crab meat with just the right amount of spiciness. The lumache were firm and chewy, the sauce rich and smooth, and the breadcrumbs light and crisp, creating a rich and distinct texture. The portion was generous; even after microwaved the next day, the sauce had naturally broken down and the lemon's tartness had dissipated, but the noodles mixed with chili oil still had a unique flavor. Tiramisu: Highly renowned, and the staff were quite confident. The surface was covered with a thick layer of crispy cocoa nibs, the cake itself is incredibly soft and moist, and digging inside reveals an "underground river" of coffee liquid, while its bitterness was perfectly balanced by the sweet Marsala.
