The ravioli porcini was amazing here, I highly recommend it! The portion sizes are very small especially compared to what the price is so expect to spend a lot or only eat a small amount. This place is definitely vegetarian friendly as I had vegetarians with me who were easily able to find what they can eat. The restaurant is very cute! After finding many restaurants on New Years were not serving food, we were recommended by another place to try this one. They were serving a late night menu with quite a few options. We each got a glass of champagne to ring in the new year. The Zucchini Flowers were our appetizer, which were actually really good. They were filled with a rich ricotta which was really tasty, and prosciutto. For the entree, we sort of split a pasta dish, the Mezzi Paccheri al Ragú. It was a good portion and filled us up. I liked the ambiance inside as there's a dining room on one side and bar on the other. We were also seated near the window which I liked. This is also one of the more known restaurants in the North End so it was nice to try, and it was my first meal of 2026! I'd like to come back to try their full menu one evening, or grab a drink at the bar. For how much we spent (for two)-- $172... I expected a lot more both in quantity and service. Taste-wise food here is good, but I was disappointed with the service primarily. Waiters were inattentive, didn't recognize when I tried to flag them down numerous times, and kept forgetting my requests. Additionally, I had to ask THREE times for place setting and a cup for my 2 year old (they kept forgetting). Also, when ordering, it felt like our waiter didn't know the menu and he was not friendly nor helpful. Food wise: taste of everything was good. I was disappointed with the tomato salad because our waiter made it sound like it came with greens-- it did not. He also made it sound like it was enough for 4 people-- it was small. Also the salmon was pretty lame for being over $30... super small and no starch or sides included (except for a few carrots and beans). My ragu pasta was great! Super yummy and perfectly aldente. The sausage appetizer was also quite delicious. Honestly, I wouldn't go back because of the service, but quality of food was good. A group of us went out to celebrate a birthday and were met with an overall extremely disappointing experience. We were sat around 8:00 PM and had to wait in excess of 50 minutes as a result of the kitchen 'losing' the ticket. While I understand that this can happen in a busy establishment, the food did not meet the standards for the wait time or for the price. The lasagna that was ordered was completely dry of sauce and had little to no meat/filling. The only noticeable flavor was bland pasta and for a $30 meal, I was expecting much more. It unfortunately feels that the kitchen rushed this meal due to the lost ticket and produced a dry, subpar product. I have given this restaurant the benefit of the doubt in the past, but this unfortunately is the final straw. It is clear that Trattoria and Depasquale ventures does not value their customers as no resolution was offered as a result of the wait or when we alerted the staff to the quality of the food. For the price point and location, there are much better alternatives in Boston. read more

The person serving water and running around happened to ask if we needed anything and we ordered drinks. About 10 minutes of sitting there our waitress finally said what do you want? We asked her for some bread. We were trying to have a nice relaxing dinner at a nice restaurant. The bread came and we asked for a Caesar salad. The salad was enough to share. Once we finished our salad we ordered our meals. I husband got the gnocchi and I got the tortellini. His meal was ok. It was real cheese and the sauce wasn't the best. My meal on the other hand was so delicious. It had the most tasty sauce and little piece of ham. I truly enjoyed my meal. After dinner, we order another drink. The drinks were really good. If this was just about my meal, it would be a 5 star but my husband's meal and everything else was not a wonderful experience. This was my first time visiting this Italian restaurant. I went on a Sunday and was seated right away. The hostess was very nice, and I was placed at a single table near the stairs. After about a minute of sitting down, I noticed a strong smell coming from the lower level. I wasn't sure if it was a bathroom or something else, but it was unpleasant enough that I slid my chair and table over a few inches to try to avoid it. The food itself was great. I started with the Boston Bibb salad -- simple, fresh, and although the pears weren't really my thing, everything tasted fine. For my entrée I ordered the porcini ravioli, and it was honestly delicious. Perfect portion and great flavor. My server was also wonderful and very attentive. The only real issue was the smell. Right after my entrée arrived, I actually asked my server if I could move to the table next to me because it was getting hard to enjoy the meal. Around the same time, I overheard another customer bringing up the same smell to the manager (an older gentleman with glasses). She was polite and just giving feedback, but he brushed it off and said he didn't smell anything. He then asked an employee -- who happened to be my server -- and she said she couldn't smell anything because she was sick. Overall, the food and service were great, but the strong odor downstairs and how the situation was handled definitely took away from the experience. Stopped in as large party of 10 this past weekend for my daughter's birthday as they are one of the only places in the North End that serves Cacio e Pepe for lunch vs dinner. What the birthday girl wants, the birthday girl gets! As a larger party, we got to sample quite a few things. For the table, we ordered the calamari, octopus salad, mozzarella caprese and the carpaccio. Being honest, none were very memorable and it's been a while that I can say that I didn't love an octopus dish, wherever the place. The apps all leaned toward the blander side. For our entrees, the folks who ordered the steak entree were quite satisfied and the fries that accompanied the dish were probably the highlight of our lunch -- it was crispy on the outside but almost mash potato-ey on the inside. It was so good, we ordered an extra side for the rest of us. I shared the Frutti de Mare and the Penne Puttanesca and while it was better than the apps, the Frutti de Mare seafood was cold and it was served with only a handful of pasta. The Puttanesca was better but lacked the rich savory flavor you would typically expect from a dish that has both capers and anchovies as ingredients. I also made a note in my Opentable reservation that we had a birthday and wanted a tiramisu that never came. At the end of the day, 3 stars for OK is just about right. Service was great though. Portion sizes were smaller than expected, which was disappointing. My chicken parmigiana wasn't well breaded, and the pasta itself was bland in taste. The octopus salad lacked any real tartness and was overloaded with olives. The spicy vodka shrimp pasta was neither spicy nor flavorful, and the sauce felt flat. Warning...it's noisy, but it's a fun atmosphere. Extensive wine list, many very expensive, but there is a section with bottles of wine more reasonably priced and you can buy them by the glass as well. My husband has the bistecca...now, having been to Florence several times, we expected it to be the same. It was basically 3/4 inch thick slab of steak which, while tasty, had a lot of gristle. The fries that accompanied it were good, hot and crispy. I had the Osso Buco on a bed of saffron risotto and it was heavenly...a HUGE amount of food, but I managed to finish most of it. Definitely a choice if you like Osso Buco. The pastas were served in skillets and according to those sitting next to us, were very good. The orchetti looked especially tasty.
