I recently had an unacceptable encounter at the Anaheim Hills location. Last night I got home and discovered there was chicken instead of tofu, I'm vegetarian so I ended up having to just make my own dinner since it was past closing time. Not great, but these things happen... Then today I decided to drive the food back to the store to see if I could get the meal I paid for. Should have been an easy situation where they just replaced my food with what I bought and paid for the night before. Instead I was told I had ordered the dish wrong and that they would do nothing to help. I was shocked. This is literally the order I have saved on the app and place it the same way every time without incident. The worker was very rude and said I was being stubborn and refused to help me even after I showed her the receipt that said "with tofu." I asked if I could speak to the manger and she said she was the manger?? Her name was Ariana I believe. I have never experienced such terrible and unhelpful customer service in my life. At no point did she apologize for the confusion and refused to help in any way. For something that should have been so easy, I can't believe how upsetting it was. read more

Although the food is good, what is more concerning is the growing number of transients that congregate in the common area in front of the restaurant. The Alcove smells like urine and it is frightening just to get into the store. I will not allow my wife to go there and we choose to go other places instead. I have complained but it has fallen on deaf ears. I just hope they don't wait until someone is victimized or seriously hurt. This is not a lack of compassion, this is a public safety issue. Some of these transients are aggressive when pandering and it can be frightening to children and women. I hope the store does something before it's too late. read more

Please, please, hire a manager who understands how to teach the front woman how to treat people. I had just come from a memorial to pick up 2 meals, waited over 30 minutes at least. Heads up! This location up sells items at an extra cost but doesn't include them in your takeout order. I believe it's just part of their business model, since it happens every time I go here. Was charged once again for chow mein and received white rice. White rice has to be the cheapest food on this planet besides a potato. I guess they just think that people won't put forth the time or effort to drive all the way back to get what they actually paid for. My family loves this chain & the food almost never disappoints; until last night, that is. I processed my order online and requested it be ready by 8:15pm. The order was indeed ready, however my order itself was done wrong AND the food was less than desirable. The Chowmein that I ordered to be prepared plain, and with NO onions, not only had onions but also carrots and celery. I ordered our Sweet N Sour Chicken with extra sauce and it was instead bone dry....like, really dry. Finally, I specifically ordered the upgrade from white rice to egg-fried rice, and did not receive it all. I'm thoroughly disappointed and will not be ordering from this location again. read more

I order to go all the time and love the food. But tonight the service was horrible. The young gal behind the counter acted like we were bothering her while we were ordering g and when it was ready to take home. First of all she had no smile or friendly greeting when we walked in and while ordering she was as troubled by us asking questions. When our order was ready we had to ask for sweet and sour for the egg roll and it was way to much to ask. The attitude and si was very rude. And as we walked out we could here another worker ask "what was that all about" insinuating that we were the ones with the attitude and asking to much. read more

My past visits were good with good food quality and good value, I really enjoyed going there, I just changed schedules and drifted out of using them. I went back tonight for the first time. BOY HAS IT CHANGED!! THE FOOD I RECEIVED WAS SMALLER IN SIZE, NOT PREPARED WELL AND COST MORE!! I ordered two meals with salmon portions. In both cases the salmon portions should be called the micro portion!! I mean, I am paying $11 for $.15 worth of salad $.15 worth of rice and maybe about $.75 worth of salmon - it is a joke. Not just the size either, but the sauce on my salmon, I guess it was supposed to be teriyaki, was overly salty and otherwise had no taste whatsoever, crude, cheap stuff I'd expect if I was at some cafeteria buffet not at the Pick up Stix I have gone to in the past. My salad came with so much salad dressing in such a large cup that I would tell you right now to stop wasting your profits by giving out too much salad dressing. If I had poured all that onto my salad I would've drowned my salad, I mean I would've had lettuce sitting in liquid, it was ridiculous. Made an online order through Yelp. Was surprised at the wait time given, after putting in the order. This is a treat for us, due to the drive. It gave us an opportunity to drive with our pups, as we continue car training for car drives, and trips. So doggy approved. Gave a hand wave, as I had masked. We got our usual. Hubs Favorite, House Chicken w/no green onions. He wouldn't care less if it was dark, light, or white meat. I am particular in my chicken, and have to see what I'm getting, or won't touch. I had chosen to get all white meat. Chicken was tasty. I choose the Garlic Shrimp. I particularly hate water chestnuts. Hubs, he loves them. The savvy 'Orderer' me, gets to make the choices. Added an order of 3 cream cheese wontons. Everything was super hot. Smelled good. The wontons didn't make it home. We both enjoyed our meal. Husband was very happy with his chicken, and liked the Garlic Shrimp. Took a lot longer than normal. I guess that is the new way, with everyone ordering online or through delivery services, one can walk into a a near empty restaurant, and have literally a 39 minute wait... because drivers are coming and going with orders. It would be nice if maybe, when planning an order they were honest and actually notified guests of the expected wait. I was kinda disappointed with the food, I got the new firecracker shrimp and it was just ok, made me wish that I had just ordered my usual, house special beef or chicken. The sauce is similar to teriyaki sauce and I always get this dish at Pick-Up Stix. Orange chicken: not as good as orange chicken from Panda Express, but you can really taste the orange peel. Fried rice: you can upgrade the steam rice to fried rice, but I prefer steam rice. The fried rice tastes very Americanized maybe because they use long grain rice? The fam and I tried this place for the first time not too long ago. We came in about 30 minutes before closing and the place was empty. I was expecting the food to be ready, like Panda, and you pick out your items and it's played right away. Well it's not! They have a menu up above and once your order is placed your food is made. I do like the freshness of the cook on the food. Once the food is ready they will bring it out to your table. I ordered the beef broccoli with white rice. The food came in to go containers and they provide plates to serve your food on. It's a good amount and I definitely could have shared. The beef broccoli had way to many carrots and it was a bit on the sweet side. It should of had a lot more broccoli, hence the name! That I wasn't to pleased about. I also thought the wonton soup my son ordered was on the sweet side. Not sure if it was the carrots again but we all thought the same. I did like how you can substitute tofu in any entree and you can add it to chow mein or rice. My daughter ordered a tofu chow mein which was the best one of everything ordered. The tofu was fried and added to the mein. Maybe it's what we ordered that wasn't their best but I'll probably give it another shot and try something new. read more

I am a recovering Pick Up Stix addict. When I lived in Placentia for two years, I used to go at least once a month, sometimes bi-weekly. The cream cheese wontons were some of the best tasty little snacks ever, their house special beef was slightly crunchy and sweet, yet savory at the same time, the honey chicken was just delicious. My boyfriend didn't feel the same way. He liked it, but he would get burnt out, so my visits started to dwindle down because he just couldn't keep up with me. Then we moved away from Placentia, to Anaheim Hills. I knew there was a Pick Up Stix in AH, it's right across the street from my former high school. It's kind of far though, and if I am going to go that far, I will go to Mandarin Taste, which is across the street. After living in our new place about 2 months, I decided to indulge in cream cheese wontons and house beef yet again. It was good, very good. I had missed it. The next day, I reheated the leftovers for lunch, something I always used to do in Placentia. I ate, I was happy...and then about 30 minutes later I had the most intense, horrible stomach cramps ever, that lasted over 3 hours. Then they just went away. I swore off Pick Up Stix. Until last night. They came out with some new Pad Thai bowls, and we got a coupon in the mail for them. My BF thought the bowl looked good, so he wanted to go for dinner. I was weary...but I agreed. I ate my dinner last night, and I felt fine. While the food tasted okay, it didn't satisfy me the way Pick Up Stix used to. Maybe our love affair is over, that spark just isn't there anymore. And of course, I am afraid to eat the leftovers. I ordered white meat Kung Pao chicken in light Sauce , unfortunately we couldn't eat the chicken, had strange taste, like raw or undercooked. Just because light on sauce, that doesn't mean to serve undercooked chicken, very unpleasant chicken.
