Turns out I accidentally placed it at a different location miles away. Definitely my mistake, and I was ready to just take the loss and leave since I was on my lunch break. The female manager stepped in and asked to see my order. Even though it wasn't their location's order, she went out of her way to prepare it for me anyway. Bottom Line Up Front: The Habit Burger & Grill is a satisfying (if flawed) step up from Mickey D's. The Context: In the fast food world, I consider the Habit the "in-between" -- it's not a sit-down restaurant but not quite a fast-casual restaurant, more like a half step up from true fast food joints like McDonald's, In-N-Out, and Burger King. The quality is better than traditional fast food, so my expectations are a little higher. The Food: I've been to numerous Habits before, but this review will focus on what I ordered last: charburger combo meal (hamburger, fries, and a fountain drink). The charburger was bigger than an In-N-Out burger, juicer than a McDonald's burger, and far more flavorful than a Whopper. While I prefer the sauce from In-N-Out, the Habit bun is bigger and holds its shape better, so I'm not left with a wet mess at the end. The Habit fries are solid, but not as good as Mickey D's. And for the fountain drink, the Habit only has Pepsi products (I'm a Coke guy) so I chose Dr. Pepper, which is a good secondary option. My wife ordered the new cauliflower tots, which was breaded and fried like a regular tater tot but filled with cauliflower and cheese instead of potatoes. Let's just say we won't be ordering that item again. The Location: This store is located in the same shopping complex as Chipotle and Tilly's. Nearby parking can get filled up at peak hours but there are a lot of slots so you can always find a spot that's further away and walk a few extra yards. There's a good number of tables and chairs both inside and outside. The layout is well organized. The tables and seats could be wiped down more often, though. The Service: Like most fast food places these days, customer service can be hit and miss -- i.e. an order missing an item and whatnot. But on the whole, the staff is friendly and competent. The Prices: This is why I'm not giving them a perfect score. It's crazy in this down economy that we have to pay $7 to $11 for a single burger or $15 to $19 for a combo meal. If they want more repeat business, they need to bring the levels back down to affordable levels. I mean, this is fast food we're talking about here after all. The Conclusion: The Habit is my go-to spot when I want a high quality burger without having to go to an expensive sit-down restaurant. Sure, the prices are a bit steep for fast food and the customer service could be improved, but overall the Habit always delivers the foods. read more

The food is good just as any Habit is. The only thing I have an issue with is when I go to any business who I hand over my hard earned cash to is a simple thank you. Here, the guy who rang up the sale handed me my receipt without saying a word. I have been here before and it's always the same. I don't know maybe because there is a tip request in the order transaction display and I absolutely never leave a tip when I have to walk up to a window to order my food. My grandma and I went to the Habit and was greeted by the sweetest cashier! Jemma was so helpful and patient with my grandma who sometimes gets confused and repeats questions. She was so kind, caring, and genuine. It's always a good experience at the habit, good food, fresh ingredients, great cleanliness and dining area, but Jemma goes above and beyond. I couldn't review her on the app since I don't have an account and wasn't planning on making one, but I hope this review gets her a good star! We also tried the $10 meal deal which was such a great value and we were able to understand what it was by Jemma informing us and being so patient. Another thing that irrates me about this location is say you get a burger and fries, the last thing to be plated is the burger. That takes the longest to cook and plate. When you enter you can choose to order and pay using their kiosk, or order through a live person (the line is a lot longer for a live person). They are known for their hamburgers which are typically cooked medium. They have a variety of options to suit your taste. We had their original charburger. It was flavorful and delicious. They also offer many sides too - we tried their sweet potato fries that were lightly salted and fabulous! Amazing prices - for 2 burgers and we split the fries it was less than $20. So worth it! I myself work in customer service in the deli at Sprouts: it's not every day you come across someone who has excellent customer service skills and at her age! Egypt was not only kind, but most importantly patient. She took my first order which was dine in. I came back after to order food to go and she respectfully and politely told me it will be about a 20 minute wait. I ended up ordering a Charburger with cheese and I also got the half and half sides of tempura green beans and fries. Their Charburger is filling! I didn't realize how huge they were, but they are delicious. I really like how you get two different cheese options to choose from. The burger is also topped with lettuce, tomato, pickles, mayo, and caramelized onions. This was my first time trying their tempura green beans and they were amazing! They're perfectly battered and lightly crispy. Unfortunately, they forgot my ranch, but even eating them without ranch was tasty. I've just moved to the area and thought I'd check this place out I was very impressed with my experience. The staff is very friendly and helpful and the food was great. My order was a char burger meal and Santa Barbara Cobb salad. It was fresh and I was content with the serving sizes. Shoutout to the cooks it was busy and they were going nonstop to make sure everyone got their orders correctly and in a timely manner. If you look at my reviews, you can see that I only review if something is really amazing, or really bad. I always try to give businesses multiple chances because everyone has off days, and everyone deserves seconds chances. This place I'm afraid is way past that. This location has gone way downhill but after tonight we're going anywhere but here. Let me start by saying my kids LOVE the Habit. They love all the kids options and of course love the gummy burgers. The last few times, ZERO gummy candy. And yes, that's something so small but they're kids therefore it's the worst thing to happen to them. That being said, they've been getting over it pretty quick so that's just a minor footnote in this review. As for the grownups though, our stuff is constantly missing from our orders or incorrect. Tonight they actually remembered the sauces for once, but gave us completely different ones so I'd still say that's a fail. For the main courses, we ordered two 10-piece chicken bites and they gave us two 5-piece chicken bites.. all small pieces so it's not like they were trying to make up for it somewhere.
