    Chicken piddle
    Debbie F.

Saw this place and my husband had been reading how good it was so we gave it a try. We had the chicken piddle which is cooked in a big pizza oven. It's like a pizza without red sauce. Tasty so give it a try!

Finally a turkish spot close to us. Looked small at first upon entrance but they have more seating in the back. food was good not bad. i had the adani beef plate which was okay (the beef was alright) the rest of the plate was good. The appetizer plate with the different options was good and so was the pizza pita. They don't really check up on you if you need anything or not so don't be afraid to call upon them,. workers were friendly.

Pidde G opened in Jade Garden's space 8ish months ago. Infrastructure mostly similar but for where the service counter & the bake station are. Minimal decor on da walls. Front counter had rows of pistachio Turkish delight varietals. Ordered at counter. Pd. Food brought to table in 10 minutes. Offerings (Turkish): Pidde ala carte with proteins or as plate, wrap, bowl or salad., lahmacun, salads, meze & soup, desserts, kids menu. Bites: Piddle donor (15) +beef & lamb (4) -Pidde is traditional Turiskish boat-shaped flatbread (18" x 3 1/2") baked in stone oven. -saltless, almost thin crust is chewy, crispy. Minced beef & lamb with cheese made nicely nuanced flavas. Has texture of pizza without excess salt. Cool! 5 stars worthy! Immaculate service. Artisan ingredients. Food freshly baked to order. Reasonable prices.

[4.5 stars] PiddeG is the newest addition to the Encina Grande plaza that's serving up Mediterranean/ Turkish food! Aside from the Kebab Shop on the other side of Ygnacio Valley Road, this is literally the only other Mediterranean spot in the North Gate neighborhood, so I was very excited to try. [+1 star] Clean, and bright space Upon walking in, my first impression was that the restaurant was clean, bright, and welcoming which created a comfortable atmosphere from the moment you walked in. [+1 star] Smooth ordering process. You pick between one of the following: a wrap, a salad, a bowl, or a plate - all have their own base price. Then you pick a protein and depending on what you choose, it's an additional price onto your base cost. If you don't want any of the above, you can order a pidde (boat shaped flatbread) or a lahmacun (basically pizza). You order with the person at the register. So this can part to get to ordering can take a while depending on how many people are in line in front of you. If you're interested in getting a drink, you can also purchase one from their drink display (appeared to be various soft drinks, carbonated drinks, and yogurt drinks). If you want water, they have a self serve option towards the back of the restaurant. [+1 star] Wide variety of Turkish delights and baklava options. If there are a lot of people in front of you waiting to order, you can pass the time by looking at their dessert counter! There are soooo many Turkish delight options and baklava options - 12 l Turkish delight flavors and 4 baklava varieties to be exact. If you have FOMO like me, get a variety box! They have small and large box options for both the Turkish delights and baklava. [-0.5 star] Staff knowledge on products. Pro tip: if you're thinking about the Turkish delight, get the small box. The person I ordered with at the register didn't seem that knowledgeable about their desserts. I asked if the small assorted box of Turkish delights had the same flavors as the small. He said yes. My friend ordered the large and I ordered the small box. We opened our respective boxes and to our dismay, they were not the same. The large box contained 16 pieces but had more of the what I consider are the traditional Turkish delights such as the ones with rose petals and saffron on the outside. The small box contained 8 pieces with flavors that I was more interested in like strawberries and milk, coconut lemon and milk, and chocolate hazelnut. The pieces in my small box didn't look to be uniform at all. Some pieces were clearly bigger than others. [+1 star] Big portions for food. I ordered the PiddeG salad and added on one chicken skewer and one beef skewer for my protein. The salad had fresh ingredients and both meats were seasoned and cooked very well. I thought the pieces of meat on the skewer were a generous size as well. My SO ordered the beef and lamb wrap which was about the size of his forearm. [+1 star] Fair wait times. Both the salad and the wrap came out in about 10 minutes. We had also ordered a Pidde Doner which is the flatbread with meat (which I cannot remember what type of meat) for two friends that were supposed to come meet us but they didn't end up coming. This particular item took about 20 minutes to come out and i realized it was because they were making the piddes fresh to order in their own pidde oven! When it came out, the pidde was steaming, hot to the touch (that we had to give it a few min to cool down), and was seriously almost the length of the table, no joke (check out my photo)! Overall, PiddeG makes a strong first impression with its clean, welcoming space, smooth ordering concept, and standout portion sizes. While there's a small learning curve with staff knowledge (especially when it comes to desserts), the quality, variety, and value of the food easily make up for it. I'd happily return to when I'm craving Mediterranean/Turkish food close to home. If you're on the fence, come give this place a try!

First trip to Pidde G recently and I enjoyed it. The location is really clean, lots of good lighting and their desserts are right up front to see. The staff were friendly enough and ordering was a breeze. I had the lamb/beef doner plate with a few pieces of pistachio baklava on the side. My order was to-go and now I'm thinking it would've been better enjoyed at the restaurant. Overall, the meat was nice but lacking in flavor. The rice portion was overcooked. The hummus and side sauces were a nice add to complement the meal. The side salad was soggy and didn't have the crisp bite I was looking for. The baklavas (not pictured) tasted nice and would get those again. Looking forward to an in-dining experience next.

I very rarely criticize a restaurant on price as if the quality makes up for it I'm willing to pay and understand today's economy. However at PiddeG, it's sit down restaurant prices for fast casual. The $9 for a piece of baklava was the real killer, I didn't expect it to be over $5. I actually thought it was mischarged. Take this money to a French bakery and you can get an epic chocolate croissant for half price. The baklava was also borderline stale (very surprised as the display looks absolute beautiful! Had my order not been takeout I would have requested a refund)... At $3 a bite I was fully disappointed. At over $50 for mezze plate, Pidde, baklava, and coconut water (had I noticed the pricing on dessert and drink I'd have skipped) this was a pricey takeout for 2. The mezze sampler was pretty good. Nothing off, tasty dishes. Portion was OK. The falafel was fine, fresh. Mezze sampler was the best of the 3 dishes by far. I also ordered a Pidde, the namesake of the restaurant, and at $15 for what is a boat shaped pizza, sans sauce.. I didn't see the appeal. No accoutrements, no sauces, just pretty oily cheese held in with a dough boat. The restaurant is clean. There seemed to be a decent number of people at lunch time. I might consider ordering something else to see if the value might lie in another dish.. a wrap maybe?

    Grilled veg PiddeG Salad

Fresh and full of flavor. Better than I expected. I door dash too often due to the demands of my job. I am often disappointed with dry meat and bland sauces or seasonings. Not today. Today the food was fresh, seasoned and packaged well so it did not fall out of its container. The veggies especially are so tasty and fresh. I could see how vegetarians live well without meat through this plate.

Ambiance: has a small store front but it's huge inside. It's brand new and looks it! Food: we ordered an appetizer combo, an avocado salad, a veg pidde and a chicken kabob platter. The four of us decided to do a family style meal and it worked out great. Fortunately, the platter was late in coming out so we could enjoy the rest first. The challenge is in the ordering. It is an unfamiliar style: pick a platter, or wrap, or bowl or salad. Then pick your protein, then pay. It takes time to sort it out, so not streamlined. It makes one hurry, or if you have a question, takes longer. The food, thankfully, is brought to the table. Given the number of staff personnel hanging around, why not do table side ordering? Maybe do both? They could then even suggest drinks, desserts and increase the sale. We were not so impressed by the avocado salad but the other three dishes were awesome! Will definitely return.

Saw this place the other day and was curious about this new Turkish eatery. It seems they have Flat breads and Salads, Bowls and Wraps along with desserts. I had checked it out after our Dinner but wanted some desserts and Turkish coffee. The place is family owned and are super friendly and helpful answering all of our questions . We only shared a slice of Baklava and Ordered a Turkish coffee. Definitely we will check out for Lunch or Dinner because they are close to work and have different options including their Flatbreads they make out of their Brick pizza oven.

We were dropping off a gift to a local, and found Pidde G as a new and hot eatery on Yelp. When you walk in and want to order, stand next to the register or people will cut you in line. The restaurant is clean and spacious, especially in the back of the restaurant. We ordered the sampler meze plate, the beef and cheese pidde, and the kids plate with lamb. Unfortunately, our toddler who loves lamb couldn't eat it because it was too tough for his little teeth. Instead, he ate my hummus with dad's pidde. My partner was surprised at the sheer size of the pidde, as it was over a foot long! He still finished it all. My meze plate was a nice sampler because the tabbouleh was fantastically not too wet and the falafels stood out as not being too oily and perfectly crunchy on the exterior and moist in the center. The complimentary hot tea is so smooth and the cucumber water is a wonderful touch. Customer service is amazing! Too bad about the super hard lamb.

New, clean modern restaurant in the shadelands whole foods strip mall, so plenty of parking available. The guy at the counter was very helpful and friendly, describing the various options and giving suggestions. Food was really tasty--in particular the pidde was delicious--the bread part was pillowy soft and chewy, which I loved. We had the lamb/beef pidde which did have a slightly gamey flavor, so next time would perhaps try the beef pidde. I would def come back to try a different variety though--that's how good the crust was! Also had a lamachun which was a super thin crust dough with thin layer of ground meat, as well as the beet salad which had lots of fresh arugula, beets, and a wonderful pomegranate drizzle. My favorite thing of all may have been the baklava. Had the pistachio square, chocolate/pistachio triangle, and walnut roll. All were so so so delicious--sweetened with honey and crispy/chewy phyllo dough. Tasted as good as the ones I got in turkey many years ago. Def check this place out!

Very clean and staff nice. We ordered: 1) mezza - 4.5/5. Lots of flavor in every bite. Dolma and falafel especially good; 2) lamb piddle - 4/5. Lots of meat but meat alittle dry; and 3) lahmanic 4.5/5. Love the veggies with this.

Amazing place! Fast, clean, affordable and delicious food! First time trying pidde and lahmacun and love them. Also other Mediterranean foods like meze and meats. A lot of unique items here where the food doesn't taste too gamey or overly spiced. I will say everything is seasoned well and balanced. I've had food before where items were just too pungent to my liking. Staff is also helpful in answering questions. This was my first time trying Turkish food and definitely had questions at the counter. Definitely try a Turkish delight, that was a nice dessert treat.

We started with the crispy zucchini appetizer, which was the perfect crunchy beginning to the meal. The salad was light and refreshing, and the burrata with figs was a sweet and surprisingly delicious combination, not something I would normally order, but absolutely worth trying. For our entrée, we shared the chicken skewers with rice and salad, and it was more than enough for two girls reminiscing about our fun college days. The atmosphere and décor were vibrant and inviting, especially sitting outside on a gorgeous sunny day. Parking was easy with a nearby garage, or if you're lucky, you can grab street parking. We skipped dessert only because we had our eyes set on bundt cakes down the street, but I'm sure the desserts here are just as wonderful. I really liked my lobster bucatini. The coconut ceviche was very fresh, not too sour and tart. My friend got the filet mignon skewers, and those were okay. We both got a drink as well. I am 100% sure I rounded my bill to $XX.00 because that's what I like to do, but when I saw the charge it was different. I am also sure I did not pay the exact amount as my friend (confirmed because she did the exact 18% rec), so to find out we both got charged the same amount.....very sus. I of course already threw away the receipt, but recalculating our meal...We definitely did not spend $100.67 each...So just be aware when you check your statement!! SKETCH!!!
