If you haven't heard the not so good news, all Pieology location will be closing, this one the staff mentioned will be closed toward ending of May. Pieology PIZZERIA is closing all stores in Hawaii. University location. Closing Date unknown. Got there on Sunday lunchtime 1pm. Birthday BOGO trying to use before they close down. Only two workers. Waited in line 30+ minutes. Prior group ordered five pizzas. When it was our turn, Young male worker puts up sign, OUT of THIN crust. Young male worker says CANNOT do BOGO as no THIN crust. Will not substitute crust. Worker could have announced outloud to people waiting in line 30+ minutes they are out of THIN crust at 1pm on Sunday. He then tells me to come back tomorrow. I heard Pieology will be closing their locations in Hawaii, therefore wanted to their pizzas before they were gone for good. I opted for their "Create Your Own" customized pizza with hand stretched original thin crust ($14.99). The perk is being able to choose unlimited toppings, therefore I pretty much asked for everything except for onions and pineapples. I would assume this was their signature item and what Pieology was known for, so I was excited to try it first hand. My first bite solidified why this store was going out of business for me. For a ~$16 pizza it was incredibly "mid" (2/5); it does taste healthy but I would much prefer eating other cheaper options like Costco, Little Ceasers, Papa John's, etc. I've also had much better fresh and health conscious pizzas that helps to justify the higher price point, so I would be perfectly content not trying their food again. Their garlic cheese bread was okay (2.5/5), but also nothing special and gets really hard the next day. Overall, Pieology was very mediocre. I get why they are going out of business so they should try to focus on using better ingredients and producing higher quality pizzas if they aren't going to change their pricing schema. read more

Honestly, one of the best pizza places I visit. I really like the quality of the ingredients and prefer the original crust over the others. Staff is always friendly and accommodating. This University location is still open! I went yesterday (Friday) to use my giftcards before all the Hawaii Pieology locations close. The Pearlridge location closest to my house is already closed, so I chanced making an online order for pick up at 11 am. Thanks to other Yelp reviewers, I found the parking in the building with no problem and walked right in to the restaurant at 11 (half an hour after their opening at 10:30). My order was not ready yet, but the staff were actively putting my order together and helping the other customers. I only had to wait a few minutes for my food. Everything was delicious! They don't know when their last day is, so if you have giftcards to use, go now! They're still working hard here! read more

Let me tell you as a busy mom who's always on the go I made a huge mistake by accidentally ordering a non-vegan pizza for my son who has really bad allergies. The girl Destinee was so kind to help us out and remake the pizza that was non-allergic to my son. This is his absolute favorite place to have pizza because he cannot have milk. Honey and I walked to pieology in a Saturday night and it wasn't too busy at all. We each ordered a classic pizza (veggie pesto and combo) and were pleased with our choices. The pies are made to order and taste fresh, but the size is a bit weird. I was able to finish half of mine and he ate one and a quarter whole pies--so hard to tell if they're supposed to be personal pizzas or just more appropriate for sharing. Regardless, the thin crust was hot and delicious and we enjoyed their AC inside while we ate. Big downside was we really wanted to buy beers with our food, but they said none of the taps work currently. We opted for soda instead, but were a bit disappointed since we went to a spot supposedly with beers and pizza. Big upside for this particular location is they're open til 11pm!! A friend took me to biology Pizzeria on a buy one get one free birthday promotion. She took one of the suggested pizzas. It was my first time there so I was surprised to learn that you can add as many toppings as you want. I added virtually everything and I was told by the service person that it might be soggy or might not be great but I thought it was going to be the greatest creation Pizza of all time. She baked it a little longer to dry out some of the vegetables and make the crust crispy and I was right! It was amazing! It was probably one of the best pizzas I've had of all time but I love all kinds of crazy toppings. There was free parking in the building and because we went a little late there was lots of free parking. I had my pizza to go in a nice Pizza box. They also sell salads and soft drinks. I've eaten at a few Pieology restaurants before. I remember the very first one opening in Hawaii Kai. I've haven't eaten here in a while. The pizzas are exactly how I remembered it. It was ok. They're still skimpy on the toppings. You have to keep on telling them to add more. It used to be $10.99 to create your own pizza. Now, they have different price points for different pizzas depending on the number of toppings. We went with the bbq chicken pizza and added on some veggies. For some reason it tasted really bland. The worker who made our pizza forgot to put on the bbq sauce. She only buttered the dough and didn't add any bbq sauce on top of the toppings. We added a ton of grated parmesan cheese to give it some taste. Hopefully next time will be better. read more

This location is in the Hale Mahana Condo where parking is basically impossible for the area but yes they do have right in the building and to access is to make a right from S King St to Kahuna Ln that makes it very convenient to get your pie. Walking into a lovely layout with lots of seating this roomy location even providing bathroom making it very nice experience as not many places do offer so this is very appreciated as well. Pizza...they do have some signature items like Alfredo Chicken, Mega Meat, Chicken Bacon Ranch and even a 3-Topping and more for the budget friendly price of $12.99 you can do what I did is to "create your own" which are four easy steps of choosing - Crust (Original thin, PieRise, Gulden-Free or Cauliflower) - Sauce (House-Made Red, Alfredo, BBQ, Buffalo, Pesto, Ranch, Garlic Butter) - Cheese (Mozzarella, Romano, Gorgonzola, Ricotta, Daiya *Vegan*) - Toppings (Veggies, Meats and Seasonings) There are after sauces which are similar to the base sauce to top your pizza when it comes out of the oven (BBQ, Buffalo, Peso and Ranch) The vibe here is nice and the staff are patient as each guest presents different wants and needs and though it's not my first time it has been awhile and using the app had my experience a bit of a struggle...sigh! This location is always a hit or miss. Me and my family order here often because we love Pieology Pizza but sometimes our pizzas come out so disgusting. Especially if we order in Uber Eats most of the time it will not come out good and I think after today I'm officially done ordering from here. I received my pizza today and it looked like someone puked on pizza dough then sent it straight to me. I order the same exact thing EVERYTIME so I couldn't believe what I was looking at today. It was so strange, it wasn't fully baked, none of the toppings could even cling to the dough. As soon as I picked one slice up everything slid right off. My order had extra ingredients on it that I didn't ask for an it looks like whoever made it mixed a bunch of sauces and ingredients in a bowl and just poured it over my pizza and called it a day. It's 8.40pm on a hectic Thursday evening. Today was just I don't feel like cooking so let order something in Uber Eats. I'm a Huge procrastinator. I scrolled restaurant to restaurant trying to find something I wanted to eat. After 20 minutes, I was about to give up when I see that Pieology has a special buy one, get one free! I decided on a calzone, one for me, the other for my daughter. Pepperoni, Sausage with Meatballs. I chose red onion and green peppers as my contribution to eating vegetables. I'm not a fan of Vegetables on my pizza and a calzone is just pizza folded nicely with a braid going all around. There's a blurb that somebody had ordered that same calzone, in fact it said 5 people order those same ingredients. There was one difference... Ricotta cheese. I love ricotta cheese in my lasagne, so why not try it in my calzone. My food was delivered just after 10:00pm. It wasn't hot and it looked a little rushed. I tore off a piece of the braid to dip it on their in-house red sauce. Not bad, but not good either. It was ice cold and undercooked. Just like it wasn't cooked all the way. My daughter came in and asked me what the white stuff was inside her calzone. I told her it was ricotta cheese the same thing that's in my lasagna. She crinkled her nose and walked away. Now that I've eaten half my braid it was time to cut into the center, filled with all my yummy meats. All I got was a fork full of ricotta cheese and green peppers. So I cut in and took another bite, same thing lots of ricotta cheese, and green peppers. Where's my pepperoni, Italian sausage and meatballs? I cut another bite and same thing, too much ricotta cheese and lots of bell peppers. Somebody was extremely heavy handed on ricotta cheese and green peppers. I finally just tore the top off and I saw a little serving of pepperoni, Italian Sausage and meatballs right dab in the center of the calzone. There was a huge amount of ricotta cheese and bell peppers circling around the good stuff. I kid you not, it was kinda disgusting. Way, way,way too much ricotta cheese and green peppers, I wished that it be opposite, an abundance of my meat mixture with a much smaller amount of ricotta cheese and green peppers. It would greatly benefit the cooks to distribute the mixture evenly. The dough wasn't cooked long enough. For me, it's a texture thing. I took a pretty big bite of half cooked dough and immediately spit it out. GROSS. By now the restaurant was closed and good luck speaking to a live agent at Uber Eats to file my complaint. Lesson learned. Next time either ask the restaurant to run my calzone through the oven a second time or just don't order from Pieology. I'd like to give them the benefit of doubt that this was an accidental quality control issue. I'll probably give them another chance to see if they fixed the raw dough problem. But it won't be anytime soon. read more

We decided to come in for lunch. This was my second time to this location. I was very excited for this choice. Love that you can custom your when pizza and they make it to your liking. FOOD: They have four different crusts (original thin, pierise thick, gluten free, and cauliflower. They have several sauces available and toppings galore! IYKYK and if not, you need to try it. I ordered my pizza on cauliflower crust which is my favorite. It come out a little crispier which is fine with me and I really enjoy it. My pizza is simple with spinach, mushrooms, cilantro, artichoke hearts, chicken, and pesto sauce... So So So Delicious! SERVICE: The employees who helped us were friendly and made our pizzas to order without any hassles. They pile the toppings on which we love! AMBIANCE: The restaurant is modern looking and has about 20 tables to seat two. Some are next to each other to seat four. They have local music playing and thr place is usually busy especially at lunch and dinner times. Parking is in the garage which the entrance is on the side road and you just take the elevator down. We ate here for lunch yesterday. First time trying this place, and I have a couple of things to say about it lol. I liked the pizza and the cheesy bread. Nothing to complain about really, would definitely order again.. but going forward it would be takeout. I'm not a huge fan of the seating area. The main dining space is surrounded by people waiting in line to place their order. I myself could help but look at all the people who were seated and eating, which made me feel like I wouldn't want to have everyone in line standing above me watching me eat. We sat with another couple at the long table by the drink fountain, and even that wasn't a very pleasant experience (the wife was a loud talker, and talked throughout their entire meal (she did nothing but complain) so that was a crummy experience. But not the establishment's fault, although possibly could've been avoided if the seating was arranged more efficiently. Deducted one star because they didn't give us the hot honey that comes with our pizza, and asked for red sauce and pesto and was only given the pesto. Human error, sure, but still inconvenient when you have to make your way through everyone else and try to flag someone down just to get sauces that were already supposed to be given to you. I normally give pielogy a 4 star, not today...first of all I was right at the glass counter and waited 15 or more minutes before I was acknowledged and told they had to finish the on line orders, more waiting...finally got our pizzas made, unfortunately I was the customer they were changing cashiers, cashier didn't know what # my pizza were, asked the other guys over and over again, that made me nervous (neither was sure of my pizza numbers). Paid and waited for our pizza, finally got order, came home and we had the wrong pizza. One was a vegetarian, which we didn't order. Tried to call the store and recorder comes on "you have reached us during their peak time, please try again later". Wasn't going back to store and have our pizza remade and wait again. Decided to just deal with the vegetarian pizza (see pizza). What is frustrating is they had a lot of workers there, including managers & no one seemed to care they was a line and we were all waiting to have our pizza made/ordered. Some just standing, some looked lost and no one was in a rush. A manager could have stepped up and got the production line going, knowing it was peak and they had on line orders and customers lining up to order pizza, not to mention the on line pick up orders. Atmosphere seemed like customers were all irritated but we all waited patiently. Been going to the university location since they opened, we've weathered the long lines and twice came home with the wrong pizza. But this has been years and one would think they would get it together. Just disappointed, we love pielogy, but have to reconsider our options.
