I ordered a salad which still hadn't been served to me when I hit the one hour mark. At that point, I asked for my check and left, still hungry. Elegant setting with water views . Impressive menu with many tempting choices. I went for a birthday lunch with a friend. She had a piled high Reuben and I had a single crab cake. Let me start by saying I feel so bad for Nicole B. of PIER 22 Restaurant Patio Catering for having to respond to so many negative comments for the recent failures coming out of the kitchen it must look hopeless at times... This is a beautiful dining venue in a beautiful area and we chose to dine here recently after wrapping up a long week of business meetings, our party was excited to spend a relaxing evening enjoying perfectly crafted cocktails and delicious appetizers and entrées here at Pier 22. Our reservation was honored and we were immediately seated upon our arrival and then greeted by our server who was so friendly she seemed to be as excited to serve us as we were to be here. I have to say the staff here was exceptional and very professional our server has the unique ability to mass the epic failure of the kitchen staff even though I'm sure she thought her gratitude was slipping away no matter her efforts. Her attention to detail was impeccable ensuring she completely understood each individual requests to make everyone's experience as pleasant as possible. The disappointment began as soon as the food landed on the table, the orders were plated incorrectly to the point that trading plates and sides was virtually impossible, the matrix to correct this table side became impossible I don't believe one entrées was correct maybe one but I was too frustrated to give any credit to the kitchen staff, our server was very apologetic e.g I ordered a 14 oz Ribeye medium rare, with asparagus and corn risotto with the hickory smoked poblano peppers and mushrooms - I initially received a well done ribeye with beans and corn risotto then they changed it out for a smaller thinner ribeye that was very much over cooked with the peppers and mushrooms and red potatoes then things started really going downhill it seems so many mistakes had come out by this time that more food began arriving randomly besides what I had been given the second time I received asparagus then corn risotto as did pretty much everyone else, it was total chaos. I can't really give a true assessment of the food except for the tough over-cooked steaks, how can the kitchen manager let this happen - I completely understand its very difficult retaining great employees now days but at these prices apologizing doesn't do much when you screw up what should of been a fun event. I know any place can have an off-night but it seems from the other recent reviews this is terminal, I hope I'm wrong this is a beautiful restaurant that employs a lot of hardworking folks but they need to make some tough decisions and fix the kitchen and the food or it won't matter because they won't survive even in a touristy area... My friends and I came to Pier 22 to celebrate a birthday and the experience was great! We came in a party of 12, and even with such a large party, our server was attentive, friendly, and our food came out fast! I ordered the pitcher of Red Sangria. It has real fruit mixed in and tasted great- not too bitter but not so sweet that your teeth hurt. I would say though, that it wasn't a very strong drink. There were about 6 glasses in the pitcher which I split with one other friend, and didn't even feel tipsy. We got a bunch of appetizers for the table- Buffalo wings, hummus, and fries. The wings were SO good and not too spicy. Usually even Buffalo wings are too hot for me, but these had a nice balance of spicy and sweet. I ordered the BBQ chicken sandwich- it was pretty good... however I'd recommend adding some more sauce and toppings too it as it was pretty much just chicken and cheese. Pier 22 is in such a beautiful location on the water and you get a great view of the ocean and all of the yachts parked at the boat dock. Parking is veryyyy hard to find on the weekends though, so if you have plans- make sure you get there early. I'd also recommend calling this restaurant to make a reservation. We got our table really quickly with our reservation and got to request a table outside. The space outside feels a little more relaxed than the fancy inside decor, and there's a huge bar on the patio too! A great place for a night out! read more

The last few times at Pier 22 were not that great. Even before the pandemic , service and food was going down hill in my opinion. . But fast forward , long wait at other restaurants and no reservations available at nearby restaurants so I found one on OpenTable for Pier 22 for me and my daughter . I was worried it wasn't gonna be good because she's a foodie in her young 19 years. Booked outside table because the view is great but the weather was bad but was no problem , they , without asking changed our table to inside . There was only about a 5 minute wait and it was packed for a Friday night. Branden H. was our server . He was obviously very busy but touched base that he would be with us momentarily. Brought us water and bread right away. He must've chose to wear a mask because most of staff wasn't but it was difficult understanding him because he kept pulling his mask up and down to talk..In my opinion why wear it if your pulling it down to talk. We don't care either way but it does hinder communication. We got calamari, the chicken penne pasta and blackened Cod Alfredo. Both were so delicious . Sauce flavorful and the Cod was perfectly seasoned and moist and flaky. The server fulfilled our request for lots of extra Asiago cheese. He didn't disappoint. Probably the best meal I've had there in years. The calamari came out room temperature at best, our only complaint but it was still good. Very attentive server, friendly and running around taking care of everyone. I hope this dish is consistent because it'll most likely be my go to meal from now on. read more

Great food for the price. Nice ambience. Friendly waitress. Food comes out fast! We sat outside in the patio and watch the sunset while enjoying our dinner. All our seafood was superb. The valet guy named, Dunkin was the absolute best! He helped my elderly grandmother get out of my big ol truck I rented. He ensured that she would be safe and made her feel secure. Great service! Perhaps there were too many venues in facility that drew real cook & waitstaff away from restaurant. Restaurant itself not busy. Service slow. When apps arrived half hr after ordering Thai chicken was fried chicken pieces thrown over chopped salad mix, like bagged type in store. Monte Cristo app was a ball of fried dough. Neither matched menu descrip. An hr later staff came to take dinner order which was not on menus we had. "Dinner" menu not presented (?). My choice, bean burger sandwich, was still a dinner item. It came raw with edges only cooked. So a pile of uncooked beans. I had to send back & didn't reorder. Waters were warm, rarely refreshed. Wine measured pour..my 2nd glass brought to table in pour bottle - my glass had been removed by busboy. Awful experience. read more

Wonderful experience all around! Ambiance was romantic with views of the water at night. Food was perfectly cooked with delightful flavors and the service was prompt and professional. Lovely restaurant on the river. We went for the first time for lunch and sat out on the patio. The View is awesome - and if you eat inside you have a good view too. Our server Lynn was very friendly and helpful and the food was superb. I ordered the salmon sandwich which is listed as being blackened but you can have it grilled - which I did. I asked for my side to be their homemade chips but Lynn suggested the balsamic chips so we both ordered that. This is a must!! Check out my pictures - they're loaded and sooo good! This was our spot for our 5 year anniversary. I had chicken cordon bleu and my husband had the huge sushi boat. One of the BEST restaurants in all of Bradenton & right on the water! The dining areas have great views, whether inside or out. We had a spot inside by the window but you could see the view no matter where you were. We had reservations & were seated promptly. Others were waiting but not for long. The patio area doesn't require a reservation. Our server, Brandon was super! He was attentive but not annoying. We never had to ask, he always knew when we were low on things & made excellent suggestions that fit our needs. He was personable & k ew the menu very well. The FOOD!! Awhhh! It was some of the best ever. Yes, the specials are pricey but worth every bit. If you want a good meal, this is the place. My husband got the elk chops which was perfect. My friend & I split salmon & 2 sides (go for the grilled Brussel sprouts). Even their sweet raspberry tea was great & not too sweet. Dessert was key lime pie & banana bread with toppings. All in all it was an excellent night out. We were treated like royalty & never rushed. I enjoyed getting dressed up a bit but didn't feel like it was a must. Others were more casual. Nice location. Unfortunately, the place did not inform us about having a buffet until 2 pm on Sunday. The buffet was over priced and food was not as good from what we were informed about the menu. I think most of the reviews below are pretty accurate in that the service and view are top notch while the food leaves you a bit disappointed. We came here for a graduation brunch after the ceremony and the waitress was excellent at taking our large order as well as accommodating some special requests (storing and serving a graduation cake at the end of the dinner). The restaurant is right on the water, which you can see from both indoor and outdoor seating. They have nearby street parking and valet parking to accommodate those who cant make the walk. We came between 11am-3pm and had to order from the brunch menu, which had limited options. We ordered a few rounds of oysters, which were very large and delicious. Came with a cocktail sauce and horseradish. My girlfriend ordered the pier 22 burger, which was large, but nothing special (though it had some delightful spiced bacon on it). I ordered the eggs benedict, which came out with some pretty chewy ham on it which really made the entrée disappoint (also came with a side of home fries). Would come back, but mainly for the beautiful view. read more

Terrific grouper sandwich! Stopped in at Pier 22 for lunch with a group of friends. We were seated promptly and met our server, Eileen. Eileen was a stellar server! She was 100% on top of drink refills, friendly and just all around a great server. The restaurant is tastefully decorated, and appears to have ample riverside seating outside. We took advantage of the valet parking, which is free (at lunch time). Parking in that area is limited, so it's a wonderful offering. I can't speak to what my tablemates ordered, but I ordered the grouper sandwich and balsamic home chips. I got the sandwich fried. Let me tell you, while simple, this was one of the best grouper sandwiches I have ever had in my life. Every element was fresh, the grouper perfectly prepared and very tasty. I loved the balsamic house chips as well. I would absolutely stop back in to Pier 22 for lunch when I am in the area. read more

We had our rehearsal dinner here in the ballroom and the staff was excellent. The communication was average leading up to the event, but we couldn't be happier with how it turned out. The views are amazing and we got to see a beautiful sunset as we ate dinner. They were able to accommodate us bringing a groomscake and served it as well. The guests only had compliments regarding the food, and they even had vegan options which was a plus. We definitely recommend this location to other wedding parties and large events. We decided to try our luck even though it was Friday night and we didn't have a reservation. The valet said 2.5 hours, but the hostess said she could seat us in about 45 mins. We decided to walk around to kill time, and before we made it the end of the dock, they text us that our table was ready! We were stunned to find they were seating us at an awesome table that looked out to the water just minutes before sunset. Fantastic views!
