This is an updated review. It's been a few years but the appearance has not changed. Neither has the great service and excellent food. Our party of 7 had reservations for 6:30 and we were immediately seated. Our large round table was located in a room which seems to be very popular. This room filled up while other rooms were mostly empty. Our server Joseph was spot on and took care of us throughout dinner. All of the food was cooked to perfection. Of course the Osso Bucco never disappoints. Chicken Piccata was not on the menu but was readily available upon request. The tables in this room are fairly close together and once the room filled up it became conversation unfriendly, very loud. I am surprised that people were not spread out more especially with the Covid situation. I would have awarded another star if it was quieter. read more

I made a reservation at Piero's for 2/23/26 for my husband's birthday. I have been nearly a lifelong resident of Las Vegas and had heard about Piero's but never visited; this was our first experience at this restaurant. I can honestly say from the moment we drove up and were greeted warmly by the valet, our experience was superb. We arrived early (just as they were opening at 5pm) to sit in the bar and have a drink before our reservation at 6pm. The ambiance was first class- warm, old Vegas chic, and incredibly comfortable. We were immediately greeted by the bartender who made two incredible cocktails and after about 30 minutes we headed to the dining room. The hostess was cordial and friendly- showed us to a booth (I had requested in the reservation) a full 30 minutes before our reservation time. The service was impeccable- from the first service person to take my husband's drink order to the woman who provided us water and bread- everyone was extraordinarily polite, professional and friendly. But it was our waiter, BOBBY, who stole the show. He had a genuine smile on his face from the moment he came over to our table and looked like he actually enjoyed giving us the 'scoop' on the restaurant history and favorite items on the menu. He checked on us often and always had time to chat with us as we gushed about the fantastic food, the incredible atmosphere, and the restaurant's history (featured in the movie Casino). We laughed about the monkey-mob theme and when it came time for dessert, they literally lit a giant sparkler on a plate emblazoned with HAPPY BIRTHDAY in cocoa and one of the best cannolis I've ever eaten. After living in Henderson over 10 years, we finally got to Piero's for my husband's birthday dinner. The service and food were outstanding. What a great place! Get off the strip and find this stand alone oasis in the desert. Old school for sure. Some of the scenes in the movie Casino were shot here so make sure and look at the photos around the restaurant. We eat at the bar and the bartenders are top class. Service is everything you could ask for. I am from KC so I find the Raiders Helmet on the back bar a bit tacky, Because of that helmet I always wear my Chiefs shirt when it is Piero's night. I have seen Mark Davis the owner of the Raiders there (several times) and I have said (fairly loud) CHIEFS and he just smiles and waves. Pia Zadora is singing in the lounge when you are done with dinner. She is great and transports you to a totally different time. Came to Vegas for two nights to celebrate my birthday and had a lot of restaurants to choose from. I saw SayHiToMatthew's YouTube video on Piero's and was pretty much hooked. Also, this was Jerry Lewis' local haunt the last twenty years of his life, plus a scene from "Casino" was filmed here. I could not have been happier with my choice. My friend and I were warmly greeted upon arriving. They even seated us in the "Casino" booth (which is also the booth Matthew had). For starters, I had the fried calamari (I told them to omit the other fried items) which was among the best I have ever had. A huge portion, perfectly fried and tender, served with two sauces (a great move). My friend had an excellent carpaccio for his appetizer. My friend could eat pasta and red sauce every day so he went with rigatoni marinara, which he liked, while I went for my favorite Italian restaurant dish (and the dish Jerry Lewis used to order), linguine with clams. This was seriously one of the best linguine and clams preparations I have ever had. Fresh, sweet clams in a wonderfully flavorful, garlicky sauce. Just great. A huge (and frankly unnecessary) salad comes with the meal, just because the owner thinks everyone should get a salad (cute actually). If you mention SayHiToMatthew, you get a complimentary dessert (which I didn't know) and they also gave me a birthday cannoli. We had three servers, all incredibly fun. We were also shown the booth Jerry Lewis had when he would come here. If you are a Jerry Lewis fan, this place is a must as his presence can be felt throughout the restaurant. A true gem tucked away just off the North Strip by the convention center, Piero's is truly special. When we left and could not find a cab to get back to our hotel, one of the staff drove us!!! When you see an older stand alone restaurant off of the strip that has been around a minute, you're probably looking at a solid spot for a meal. Piero's has some old school Vegas mafia style vibes. I think this is the kind of place Joe Pesci goes for dinner. I had the bone in veal Parmesan and it was amazing. Not just the fact that it takes up a plate the size of a Hummer hub cap, but it was delicious as well. The Caesar salad was also awesome. I had some of the cheesecake too but couldn't eat it all after the enormous veal chop. The place stays packed, so plan on it being loud and being potentially cheek to cheek with another patron. They make the most of their real estate. My Standardized Yelp Ratings 5 stars - This is for a place that I see as one of the best at what they do (steaks, sandwiches, BBQ, seafood, etc). 5s are for places I've been several times (typically) at least and never had an "off" experience. The food quality, service, price and atmosphere are all going to meet or exceed expectations. 4 stars - This is for a place that is good, I would drive a little out of the way to go, and the food and service is good, but maybe not amazing. Also for me, this could also be a great place that serves Pepsi products - automatic 1 star loss - bad management decision. 3 stars - This is for a place that I view as standard. Nothing special, nothing lousy, not a place you'd avoid like the plague, but a place that is not one you really look forward to either. 2 stars - This is for a place that had something go wrong or something perpetually wrong. The food and or service is likely consistently suspect here (they probably serve Pepsi too). 1 star - I can't see wasting time writing a review on a place that gets a 1 star. Let's start with the ambiance. This is your old-fashioned dark italian restaurant. Old wood, carpet's, white tablecloth dressed servers.... This is where you would go to film an italian dinner scene in a movie. Service is always wonderful. These people are very well trained. I've never been here and not walked away amazed that there's still great service in the world. The food is also quite amazing. My son and I had dinner at Piero's for the first time last Friday, and it WON'T be our LAST!!!! As soon as we walked in, I felt right at home. The place made me feel as if I were back east, where I grew up - soft lighting, classic music, white tablecloths, and horseshoe booths. Tim, our waiter, was warm, friendly, and engaging. When I told him I wanted to try the garbage Caesar but thought it might be too much, he said they could do a half for me, no problem, even though it wasn't on the menu. We also had the meatball app, which contained 2 huge delicious meatballs, garlic bread, and ricotta. My son and I could only finish one. Next, chicken parm and chicken marsala - both delicious and huge - we had a second dinner the next day. As an Italian and a pretty good cook, or so I have been told, the marsala was some of the best I have had. Dessert was NY cheesecake - a generous slice that we shared and finished. First I want to say Thank You for keeping the old school vibe, and this perfect ambiance with low lighting. bur If the walls could only talk. The staff was friendly and professional, dressed well with the etiquette that belongs in this Italian restaurant and hopefully never goes away. The only thing that I didn't like was looking around with people wearing bb caps, seriously learn the etiquette and respect the establishment. Now let's talk about the food. Started with some appetizers with house specials like stone crab claws, Sashimi(Crudo) and half a dozen of oysters. It was very comforting and delectable. There is a lot to unpack here. I went here with a client, so a total of four including me. Gear up for a story of ambiance, oddness, quality and schmoozing. Make sure you are in a comfy place. 1. Make reservations. I did and once my others arrived we were seated in an area, the first side I recall. The way it works is they have a main three that work that room area, or at least it's pitched that way. 2. Let's do roll call staff - Mikka or something like that. He's from Hawaii, former dealer at the casinos. In charge of drinks, recommend drinks, explaining them in lush detail as though you hang on each word from Shakespeare. He appears the most and also covered the dessert tray. Master of Schmoozing and has Panache. He did so so on refills of my coke and one of the other parties ice tea. He did far better pushing the higher price booze drinks. His port recommendation for a dessert wine, which I did, fail. 3. Next up Billy. He goes over the specials, in rich detail. It's like a painting a picture of delight. Example - a 24oz RibEye made from happy cows in the province of southern Italy. Snow capped trees sparkle with a rare cedar sprinkled among elves wearing red scarves while discussing the inner sanctum of deep rushing red." Then he hands the menus. You will never see him again. 4. Timmy - he's technically the server. I saw technically because he takes the order and you never see him again until towards the end of the meal. Others bring out the food and dishes etc. Names not provided. Nor any oral history. I give him huge props to make sure my linguine and clams was dairy free including no butter. He delivered. The meal Client one - Opened up with the Cesar Salad which comes with shrimp. I admit I haven't seen that before. His main course was some pasta dish with "dirty gravy" which is some type of marinera. He ate both, no complaints, liked it. Client Two - Had an old fashioned (drink recommend from Miika or Mikka). Loves it. Shrimp with Spicy horseradish cocktail. 24oz Blackened Ribeye. He's from Denmark so the latter from a blackened standpoint you can't get. He ate everything, loved it. The shrimp cocktail is super spicy from the horseradish standpoint , your eyes will water (I had the same appetizer, and it's good. Shrimp is very sweet and plump) Client three - Dirty Martini with blue cheese stuffed olives (another Mikka rec), he also had some red wine which he loved so much so, Mikka brought over the bottle, so my friend and Client could take a picture. As an added bonus Mikka said you could order it thru Vino. Appetizer was the Carpaccio with capers. Main was the Blackened 24 Oz Ribeye. The latter he loved, the former he didn't eat all of it, and didn't really say one or another. That meant he wasn't impressed (he's a foodie). Me. Coke which despite asking Timmy, Mikka and one server, never got an initial refill. Another server got me a refill and then Mikka who makes the most appearances followed thereafter. We saw the same issue with the hot bread. It came out quick, but despite asking Timmy and the same server who ignored my Coke refill, no bread made another appearance...Until the same Coke refill server was asked, and he did come back with hot bread. Personally I think he is ready for the pangentey of main waiter. Just a gut feeling. Oh the main waiter/server doesn't go into the rich mahogany detail as Billy and Mikka, but it was enough to make it work. My dishes were Shrimp Cocktail and the earlier noted linguini and clams. The latter was pretty good, not great. Could have been due to the lack of butter, but I've been to places that eliminate that and hit home runs. Because we couldn't get refill of bread all that wonderful sauce at the bottom couldn't be loved. When the bread did arrive, said sauce was cold. Timmy appeared a bit after that noted that the best was to dip the bread in the sauce, which I was aware of. I didn't have the heart nor desire to tell him that the bread was beyond late and dipping into cold sauce is unappealing and tastes odd. Dessert time Mikka/Miika is back. He knows all the different poker games, BTW. So if you want tips, what to play and where you can get into various price point entry fee games at the casinos, he knows. I know this because my friend inquired about said poker games. Miika goes full into description for each dessert item on the tray. Again lush descriptions with details not to small to miss. The group (except me) went with the carrot cake with coconut flakes made from coconuts found only in Rapa Nui and by turtles who grew arms wearing vividly green shoes from the finest tailors in Chile. I went with the black cherry sorbet. It was awful. It had and could taste ice crystals, which means a freezer burn issue typically. Yeah, don't get the sorbet. Carrot cake was a winner. read more

Easily the best meal I've ever had in Vegas. My buddy and I arrived early for our reservation, so we hung out in the bar. The bartender was fast and friendly. When our table was ready, slightly before our reservation time, we were sat quickly and our waitress was prompt. We started with appetizers, oysters, pasta and meatballs; everything was fantastic. The oysters were fresh, surprisingly fresh for being in the desert. For my entree, I had the veal. It was great, so tender I didn't really need a knife to cut it. We had dessert, a chocolate crème brûlée. From start to finish, the whole experience from food, drink to service was too notch. Again, one of the best meals I've had in my 25 years of going to Vegas. I've lived here all my life and have always wanted to try this place and yet have never made it here to dine until now. We made a reservation and apparently they get a lot of conventioneers, as it was very busy with a lot of them. So even though we had a reservation, we still had to wait a few minutes. So, we were sat and were greeted by our server, who was very nice and attentive. As for food, I thought I'd try their ceasar salad called the garbage Ceasars salad because it had not the usual stuff in it, but I did not like it's variance. My husband ordered the popular veal parmesan for $65. He said it was fine but definitely not worth the price. Then as for my meal, I ordered the 22oz ribeye for $95. For that price I usually wouldn't spend on a steak. But I figure with 22 ounces, I'll have leftovers. But...no! It was at best 14oz. I was able to eat the whole thing. It was tasty, I'll give them tha, but I can get a tasty steak for a much cheaper price. At least advertise what you are serving. Then my husband ordered the cannolis as he loves them, but he said these were the worst he's ever had. S, I guess we won't be returning. So sad. Service was the only thing we appreciated. Guess I wasn't missing out all these years. Or maybe it was better in its day. read more

Piero's was a step back in time to an age of elegant Italian dining. Intimate feeling and low ambient noise set the tone. The many servers all dressed in white tuxedos and displaying all the art of fine restaurant service. An excellent whiskey collection for me and a sugar rimmed lemon drop martini for my wife started the evening on a solid note. The stone crab appetizer was nice (although at $30/leg, I probably wouldn't order it again) and the frito misto was delicious. My maui onion salad was particularly nice with sweet onions sliced very thin and a sweet dressing to accent that flavor. My wife had a delicious caprice salad with pesto and heirloom tomatoes.
