Okay so I wanted to give this place 4 stars because I think In relative to what's in the area. So for what's in the area. Like if you want some basic pancakes and eggs it's totally fine. But my crew that I'm with said no lol. So here's the review: Staff is super nice! Waffles- two blueberry waffles were ordered and one Belgian. They were fine. Made homemade with real blueberries in there. The waffle was kinda light and thin. Not sure if that's good or bad. I ordered a side of bacon and for the amount of PIGS that surround the building both inside and out and the name and the stuffed animals for sale, I expected way better bacon. It was pretty thin. Get sausage or turkey sausage instead. The French toast was ok. It lacked the egg batter. My friend said "it's giving Italian, not French" The syrup seemed like it was light sugar again...not sure if that's bad or good . One thing that was not good at all were the home fries. They were super dried out. I say you can't go wrong with eggs sausage waffles and pancakes! Oh and get there before 9:30 on Saturdays - it got super busy! Which is good for them! read more

We visit the area very often throughout the year and Piggy's is always a must. The food is fantastic, the staff is so kind and I love the little gift area in the front. Had the pancakes. They were fluffy and were made with fresh blueberries. I'd give the pancakes a 3 out of 5 as they didn't have much flavor in the batter. The scrambled eggs are delicious and the sausage was cooked perfectly. My brother in law enjoyed his omelette but wished that his spinach and tomato had been cooked more prior to being stuffed into the omelette. His home fries and scrapple were cooked well. Food was acceptable, I haven't really tasted the food very well because I was upset about this kid who was working in this joint, although, everyone else but one was nice. That one person, had a really loud voice talking about other people say "youz" instead of "you". He stated that others annoy him by "not speaking proper english." Clearly he is racist and ignorant. Surely, never stepped outside his city or state, to hear the beauty of other accents and languages. You need to get rid of this ignorant kid's attitude, it's going to get him in a lot of future troubles in life. I absolutely love this place! The food was delicious! The decor is cheeky, and very fun. Much like its namesake, pigs are celebrated everywhere throughout the restaurant. The special sausage gravy over biscuits was way better than anything I've had before, and trust me I've tried to make this dish! The pancakes were not too sweet just right, blueberries on everything :-) our family loved it ages 7 to 75. There's something for everyone here for breakfast. Nyssa, our waitress was accommodating kind and just a breath of fresh air. The shop was filled with fun things for children and adults alike. Stopped on a Monday for breakfast. We didn't have to wait at all to be seated. We did have a group of 8 which they couldn't put us at one table but they did give us 2 tables next to eachother. When you enter the restaurant they have a cute little pig shop too. Menu is pretty standard with many breakfast items. I got a coffee with cream: not the best coffee in the world but pretty food. I'm legit only giving one star because, well I have to, plus the crunchy granola french toast was actually good. So what was bad about this place? Can we start with the fact that we were seated with an attitude, and then had 3 other tables had their order taken while we waiting just staring them down. Secondly, some tables are served plastic utensils and some served metal, we got a mix, but everything was on paper plates that made it hard to eat the food on. Thirdly, the rest of the food just sucked, the waitress had an attitude when we asked for napkins and extra milk for the coffee, and the swiss miss 'homeade hot chocolate' machine was asked for with no marshmallows, when we told her politely that we had asked for no marshmallows she had the biggest attitude. Tried Piggy's while on a family trip to the Poconos. It's a bit of a wait if you arrive in the mid mornings for breakfast but well worth it. Everything is made fresh with quality ingredients. The pancakes are huge - biggest, thickest pancakes I ever saw & they were delicious, as is the breakfast sausage. My husband and two of my kids got omelettes which they enjoyed a lot as well. Wow. This place was bizarre. The ambiance is cute- pigs everywhere, cute theme but... We were seated right away, waited a good 10 minutes for someone to approach us at the table - there are literally 10 tables in the entire restaurant. We ordered our drinks and they handed us a package of plastic flatware, coffees in paper cups. I could see a stack of 5 trays of real coffee mugs but when I looked around everyone was drinking from paper cups, using flimsy plastic forks that can't cut pancakes and paper plates. But odd enough the cream for my coffee (maxwell house- it says they use maxwell house on the menu) was pours into a cute pig shaped cream pitcher. It was the only on disposable item we used. We ordered 2 orders of pancakes, two omelettes and a taste of sweetness. We waited 45 minutes for this order. There are 10 tables in the whole place. What took them so long? The pancakes are fluffy/thick and dry. With the plastic forks which bent when you stabbed the pancakes and the tiny plastic knife we were literally laughing about the absurdity of trying to eat the food with these utensils. On paper plates. Did I mention that? The omelets were ok. They raved about their potatoes which were served cold and were just potatoes, nothing special about them. The toast was cold and dry. The taste of sweetness was strange. First I couldn't eat it with the plastic utensils. Like my fork was bending! The crunchy French toast was decent with granola on top. If our meal was served on real dishes, perhaps it wouldn't have felt so awful. Also if the food and service was just ok perhaps it could have been a better experience. But the food was meh, forgettable. And somewhere in Yelp I saw someone mention they start each meal with blueberry muffins... we saw no muffins anywhere. I wanted to love this place. Boo, what a let down. It's been years since I've been to Piggy's for breakfast. I had such fond memories and told my friend it was the "best breakfast ever." I looked like a liar. It seems that things have gone downhill. The menu seems smaller than years past but maybe I am wrong. I opted for a bacon and cheddar omelette. It was so bland and flavorless and could have used some salt and pepper . They just threw the entire strip of bacon inside it and did not bother to chop it up. The "hash browns" were more like rounds of potatoes that were also bland and boring. My friend got a pork roll sandwich which she said was ok but nothing special and same comment regarding the potatoes. The biggest issue was the service. It was soooooo slow! The best food and service bar none in this tiny place. Friendly staff, Rose was great as was the gal who says cawfee. The cooks need to be the ones who butter the waffles bc the cook puts on cold blueberries which is nummy and a lot, but the waitress scoops on butter on top of the cold berries with no melt of the butta. It was still ungodly yum. The only thing that was tough to deal with was the noise. Its a tiny place so theres bound to be lots of speaking noise, but compounding the overbearing loudness is it seems each employee sets their own genre of music and LOUD! We sat near the kitchen w/BillieJean blaring from the cooks; near the coffee station a wifi speakr blasted some other genre of music and on the other side of the room at street front was a third genre playing. Just went there couple days ago with my boyfriend and probably the cutest breakfast place I have been to the food was so good and very filling had to take some home with us. Our waiter Joanna was very welcoming and happy to help us out since it was our first time. The place does fill up quickly since it's not so big but super cozy feel. The theme its self so so cute. They've got a "Pig Theme" at the restaurant that's kind of cool, with decorations and gifts you can buy for the pig lover in you. Woman at the door was so sweet and courteous. They were packed so she offered us tea/coffee while we waited for our to-go meals. The mugs were adorable and when I asked if I could purchase one she informed me that they were sold out. She suggested I talk to the owner to see if I can purchase the one I was drinking my tea out of. Had a terrible experience with Lara. Condescending and pushy. I ordered sides because we were heading out to get dessert shortly after and she asked us where and why we were going so far to get dessert and insisted we get some of their deserts instead. She also asked why I didn't just get the whole meal instead of just the sides. Understandable considering it's a business and being upsold is normal. But it's not what you say, it's how you say it. I also do not like to practice gluttony. She explained that they only keep 6 cups behind the register and therefore I could not purchase the one I was drinking from (also understandable). I decided to take a look around to see if I could maybe purchase another mug or one of the many gifts and merchandise they have to offer. As we are leaving she decides to make a joke saying that she thought I was going to run out with the mug I was drinking from while I looked around. Despite our group being split into separate tables, we were still charged a gratuity for a party of 10 or more, which felt unfair. On top of that, the prices were unbelievably high, which was a major letdown. It's disappointing when a good meal and great service are overshadowed by such high costs and questionable billing practices. I'm not sure if I'll be returning given the steep price tag and the added gratuity charge for not even sitting as one group. $71 for two, $80 for two, $79 for three, $80 for two and one child. My fam and I went to Piggy's for breakfast. The place is very cozy , small, tons of pigs everywhere. Gives a nice mountain vibe. We were greeted by a nice blond lady. We were able to pick our own table. Pro: 1. Food was good (basic pancakes, eggs, omelette, fries). However, the toast was too greasy. Would be great if they add less butter. 2. Our waitress (a dark skin woman) was very attentive and hard working. 3. The place was cozy. Cons: I honestly hate writing negative comments but they need to do some work. The first issue was that the place was slightly busy. There were two waitress but only one was actually doing all the job. Giving the menu, taking the orders, making the coffee, bringing drinks to customers, cleaning the tables, bringing the food, managing the registry. Meanwhile the welcoming blonde lady is in the shop basically doing nothing. When we got there, the table behind us had the plates and leftover still there. We were there for about 50 mins and the table was still dirty with the plates and the bill there. Second issue was, a blonde old woman came out of the kitchen and you could feel how the working atmosphere changed. She started to help customers but had little customer service. Family of ten. We all loved the service. We all loved the food but the price was just ridiculou. 300.00 for eggs bacon, omelette, coffe , waffles. At IHOP it would be close to 150.00 in New York. We went to our hotel's buffet and paid 121.00 plus tip for a family of nine one person did come . We had waffles, bacon, orange juice, watermelon, fruit, all for 15.00 a person. We are still upset about the bill. My bill was a family of two and my bill was 61 and they add an 18 percent tip because we all came in together but sat at two different tables and paid four separate bills. So no thank you Ms. Piggy. We just checked out of Split Rock Resort and based on reviews decided to try Piggy's on our way out of the Poconos. Wish we had known about it sooner we would've had bf/lunch there everyday! My husband met the owner on our way in who was very kind and introduced herself to him. After chatting she told my husband "this is my place and enjoy yourself!" and that we did. We initially decided this place would be fun based on the decor and that it be kid friendly for our 4 year old son and twin 2 year olds. It was perfect!!! Our waitress Alicia was very hospitable and accommodating! She helped with great tips for menu items and things to do on our way home to Philadelphia. She was wonderful with our children as well. We tipped 65% wish we could've given more. I did end up buying a t-shirt from the lobby area (I never do that even places I frequent weekly). Ok the food: We ordered pancakes they were a little fluffy for my husband he's a traditionalist about his food. These pancakes are fluffed to the ceiling! If you like large super fluffy pancakes these are for you! (I liked them)! My husband is used to scrapple that's more dense and greasy from Philly. Theirs was light, fluffy and tasty. I'm not a scrapple person but that I could eat! I ordered the omelette because of reviews and the waitress. It was huge! Very fresh and cheesy! I was stuffed couldn't finish it. I had the homefries on the side due to reviews and people leaving out saying they were a must try! They were like a cross between thick round chips and fries they were perfect for my kids to handle and they loved them. My husband and I split a bacon, egg and cheese on white slightly toasted with extra cheese. This was so damn good I thought about getting one to go to keep in my purse for dinner (I know that sounds greedy and trust me I never do that, that goes to show how good it was). For us it was the star of the meal and our absolute favorite. It was extremely well made!!! Will be back even if we don't stay at Split Rock. Oh yeah and they give you little mini warm muffins and butter before your meal my kids found those quite tasty and they liked that they were "kid size". I never have coffee with my meal but something said try it. It was great and Alicia was on point on keeping my cup full without having to ask. Simple review. Alyssa at the door was so genuine. She was friendly and accommodated inside seating for two and an infant quickly. Through Covid 19, staff is wearing masks, and indoor and outdoor dining tables are distanced. Even with high traffic, you don't feel rushed. The quality of food was great and not compromised. We ordered the Western Egg Omelet, French Toast, and Glazed French Toast. Amazing! Good coffee too! I wanted to like this place, but it seems like it has seen better days. The aesthetic is nice with all the wood and the pigs. But the service was... depressed, and the food not great. I appreciated that they had some turkey breakfast meat options. We were there around 11am. It tasted like they made one batch of breakfast potatoes at 5am and were still serving them at 11am. Very stale and dry. Then there is no longer real maple syrup (there apparently was at one time), and when I poured the syrup that was on the table, something very liquid-y like water came out first.
