It's not too crowded when I was there but it was always a challenge to find a table at such a place. We were able to find a table quickly and before the food was ready. We were provided buzzers for the food order so we could go pick it up when it was ready. I liked the way it was laid out that one stall was dedicated to drinks, bakery, boba, and ice cream while all others were for savory food. I thought that was clever to maximize the space for more food stalls compared to the Spot or Block. There were poke (most reasonably priced), bibimbop bowls, ramen (really good broth), banhmi, pho, sushi, karaage chicken, Korean fried chicken and some other traditional Korean food fried rolls etc. That's alot! read more

Well I was not looking for anything specific to eat while cruising down Rockville Pike, but I was hungry. Pulled out my trusty mobile phone and dialed into YELP's highly rated restaurants in the area...Highly rated meaning 4 - 5 STARS with less than $$$, but closer to $$. Now I will admit that most of the pictures had fried chicken and french fries for this location, and I wanted healthier than that. I kept scrooling through the pictures and saw more and more rice and noodles...BINGO, that will do. I thought that this was going to be more of a carry-out restaurant, but I was pleasantly surprise to find out this was more little street vendors lined up inside a building with indoor and outdoor seating. ORDER noodles or a HOT POT, they are so damn good! Order to go or sit down when a table becomes available and get it in. Parking is kind of hard to find around dinner time and the parking spaces are tight in the strip mall parking lot, but so worth the drive and wait. read more

I was really excited to learn about this food hall, so trekked out to Rockville to check it out. There are a bunch of different restaurants/stalls that all looked good, so it was hard to decide what to eat! We got food from 3 places - seafood pancake, garden rolls and spicy basil chicken - and a pitcher of beer. Everything was spot on; lots of flavor and yummy sauces. Plus inexpensive! Oh my goodness another Asian food hall in Rockville. I may need to work extra hard at the gym with all of these new places opening up! Pike Kitchen has an Asian bakery with baked goods and cakes, Pike Chicken & Beer, K Street Food, Viet, Monster Snow Tea, and more. A few things we tried: shrimp dumplings from K Street Food, soy garlic popcorn chicken from Pike Chicken & Beer, grilled beef with rice from Viet, and taro coconut bubble tea from Monster Snow Tea. The steamed shrimp dumplings were just okay. The filling had mixed noodles but barely had any shrimp. The grilled beef from Viet had a delicious marinade although I've had better in other Pho spots. The soy garlic popcorn chicken from Pike Chicken was my absolute favorite! It had great flavor and a good amount to share. The taro coconut milk tea from Monster Snow Tea tasted a little watered down but the boba tasted freshly made. I can't wait to try the Korean gyro once they open. Underground garage parking is available in this shopping center and it's best to stop by around 5:30-6 p.m. during weekends because it gets very packed. I enjoyed this food hall better than The Spot. This review is for specific vendors and not as a whole place. We ordered okonomiyaki at the Japanese place (don't remember the name). It was literally just a pancake with bonito flake toppings and zero other ingredients, no veggies, no squid, nothing. The pancake was cut into four slices. My husband thought it was just the first slice that had no fillings. It turned out that none of the slices had fillings. Sad. We then went to th Vietnamese stand for an iced coffee. Asians don't like too much ice so I asked for less ice. When I got my drink, there was literally a big gap between the lid and the coffee. Sad. I've been to Pike Kitchen a few times now with different people and I definitely think there needs to be a way to leave reviews for individual stalls inside. This review specifically applies to the K Street Food stall. I went to Pike Kitchen with my dad and sister on 4/27/2019. It's been almost a month since our visit so I can definitely say that my experience there was REALLY terrible. We got there a few minutes after Pike Kitchen opened. My dad got veggie udon and my sister got a banh mi sandwich - both of those orders came out in five-ten minutes. I decided to order kimbap from K Street Food and waited for my order. Nearly 25 minutes after my initial order, my sister and dad were basically done with their food. And mine had yet to be started! I walked over to see what the delay was and the guy hadn't even started making the food??? I asked him how long it would be and he said another ten minutes! 35 minutes for two kimbap??? The guy making kimbap was also the same one taking orders from other people and he did not seem rushed at ALL. My guess is that the ingredients for the food weren't all prepared. When I walked over to check, he was just starting to put together things on the prep board in front of the glass. I don't think they should sell "snack food" that takes more than 30 mins to make. Other people ordered other dishes like the odeng and tteokbokki - which came out much faster since they were already prepared. I FINALLY got my order - by the time I sat down, my sister and dad were already finished and ready to leave. It was my dad's first time there and he was unimpressed by the wait time, but he did like the idea of Pike Kitchen and he enjoyed his food. On my previous visits, I also really liked this place. But this one experience was enough to turn me off - it'll definitely be a while before I go back. There are too many other options for good Asian food on Rockville Pike. Food court, nice aesthetic! One issue is that even when it's not too crowded, the place seems really claustrophobic and just messy. I had the KFOOD, MONSTER TEA, and RAMEN. The monster tea is good, but expensive for such a small portion. The K-Food is also good, but as a Korean I was shocked at how high the prices for such a small amount of food was (especially because it's only like 3 ingredients). The ramen was okay, it tasted plain but it did come out very quickly warm (not hot?). This place really deserves a 3 star based on my experience, but I give it a 4 in diversity all in all :) I'll go again, and if my experience changes then this review will be updated! Such a cool spot. The parking lot is always a mess, but the food is great. The sushi place is good, the pho is good, but my favorite is the rice plates at the pho place. I've been a few times now. Dessert and bubble tea: tried black sesame smoothie, black milk tea, strawberry lemon tea, the chocolate peanut cake, and a blueberry mouse cake. Only the black milk tea was good. Everything else is just mediocre. Pork belly bun (from the noodle place): bun was cold, sauce is that cheap spicy mayo thing. Meat was actually good. Soy garlic chicken (from chicken & beer): salty, not crispy. Spicy basil chicken: salty, not crispy. Karage: salty, crispy. Soondae (from the k-street place): NO flavor at all! H-mart sells cheaper and better ones! Steamed beef dumplings: I ordered 6 beef dumplings, but they gave me chicken ones instead. I took them back. The cashier tasted one. The manager tasted one. And the chef tasted one. They looked at each other and couldn't tell if it's beef or not. I was literally rolling my eyes. How can you not tell the difference between beef and chicken? After 5 minutes, one of them said, this is beef. Yea, right. They didn't give me the beef dumplings I wanted and ate half of my chicken dumplings??? WTF. So. Mediocre. read more

Monster/Pike Bakery: Do yourself a favor & get the Oreo mochi donut bc it was EVERYTHING! Chewy inside, crunchy exterior with Oreo morsels on top with a sprinkle of powder sugar. I got the matcha mochi donut & was also a hit. It's the right amount of sugar without being "too sweet". We also ordered the horchata & boba Thai milk tea. I judge boba tea spots on the quality of the boba. Both the flavor & the boba were solid. Will definitely be coming back for more mochi donuts! read more

I like this place, especially the Vietnamese and Korean food! Although, the parking is a little bit tough to get! If you come at the busy hour you can't really find the parking spot at all unless you go down a bit further to park in the garage underneath Iron Age! The inside is a bit tight and small compared to the spot in my opinion but it's better food and better/more variety food selection! And taste better of course (Again in my opinion) the bubble tea is ok ok not that impressive! I like their bakery. Pike Kitchen is my favorite food hall in the DMV!!! There are so many delicious options to choose from and I'm always leaving completely satisfied and happy whenever I visit! I like how there's a variety of Korean, Vietnamese, Japanese, and Chinese food to choose from (honestly my personal heaven)! Some of my favorites are the kimari and the tteokboki!! I came back and had the kimchi fries from Pike Chicken and Beer, banh mi with pork from Viet, and coffee coconut slush with boba from Monster Tea. Everything was so amazing! The banh mi was pretty big so I split it with my friend. I was also pleasantly surprise with how good the coffee coconut slush was--it was like a frappuccino. Glad to see this food hall finally opened! Loved the interior set up and there's a lot more places to eat within. Compared to the Spot, Pike Kitchen has more food options whereas the Spot has a handful. I've only tried the bowl place, the vietnamese establishment, the popcorn chicken place, bakery and boba. All are what I consider mediocre. Think of this as the Mcdonalds/fast food of asian foods (even though the place isn't as fast yet). Overall a good addition. read more

I love this spot... there's something for everyone. There's real authentic Asian food and more Americanized food as well. Great dessert options including the bakery. I've heard this place is better than the Block (another Asian food hall) in VA from my fellow Asians. When I went to Korea as a young kid, one of my favorite memories was this corndog with French fries on it (like a true foodie). They recently came out with something very similar and they call it Korean Street food. They have happy hour too!! read more

I've only tried the ramen from Japomen, the kimari and ddukbokgi from K Street Food, and bubble tea from Monster Tea. The ramen was not that authentic, but it was good enough if you're unfamiliar with actual authentic ramen. They added cilantro, which threw off the taste for me because I've never eaten cilantro in ramen before. It didn't really taste like ramen aside from the noodles. I ordered the Japomen because it said it was spicy, but it wasn't really spicy at all. The flavors were just really odd. I wouldn't order this again. For the price, it's almost exactly like Akira Ramen's, but the quality at Akira is a thousand times better than this place. The kimari (deep fried and battered seaweed rolls stuffed with japchae) were soooo delicious. It's really hard to find this particular item around here. The only other place I've seen it around is at H Mart, and it's not particularly good because it's been sitting out for awhile. The kimari is displayed in the window near the cashier and they refry it for you when you order. I believe you get 3 pieces per order (which doesn't seem like a lot), but the rolls are actually huge and they cut it in half when you dine in so that it's easier to eat. I wish they would also cut it in half when you take it to-go. The ddukbokgi was standard. The large size is really big, so it's good for sharing if you happen to come with a friend. The bubble tea is good. I've only had the taro coconut one though. The bakery looks appetizing. I'm sure I will try some baked goods the next time I'm there to pick up some kimari! read more

Pike kitchen had their soft opening at the end of the week and is open this weekend. This is potentially a great addition to the local food choices purporting to offer a mix of different Asian street foods in an eatery type setting. A casual place to grab a quick bite of cuisine usually found in sit down restaurants in Rockville. Liz and I were very disappointed with the similar attempt in Rockville town center. We walked through but did not stay for dinner. Pike Chicken & Beer. I had the chicken in a spicy basil sauce. Small pieces of lightly battered chicken that are deep fried then coated with a mildly spicy sauce and topped with fresh basil. It's served on a mini sheet tray covered with paper. The chicken was very tasty, cooked properly, and the sauce offered mild spicy glaze. The fresh basil was perfect adding a flavorful touch to what could have been a boring selection. The portion was a large snack or small entree at $7.95. They only offer bottled beer as the draft beer is not ready yet. I found that the oder of french fries looked appealing, but I could not stomach $4.95 and up for a fairly small order. I would have been very happy to pay $10 for slightly less chicken and a small amount of fries, but this is not an option. I believe the quality of the food is such that with a change in the portions/options they would significantly increase sales. Still a good choice for flavor and I would repeat The other stalls are: K Street food Nice selection of visually appealing Korean food Viet A very nice selection I'm dying to try of Phò and Bahn Mi again looks very tasty Kogyro Korean Gyro not open yet Japomen A very appealing menu of Ramen great choices for the stock including Vegan. I think I found my new favorite place to eat in Rockville! This place is comparable to the Spot in the sense that it's an "Asian Food Court" but then... it ends there. It's better set up and definitely a lot more options to choose from. As soon as you walk in, there's a hustle and bustle feel to the place... yet it's not so overwhelming. You pick a place to eat from (or choose one from each place if your heart desires) and then you bring it to one of the tables. It's a little loud so if you're looking for peace and quiet... this is not the place to be. Tried K Street food and Pike chicken & beer and both places served DELICIOUS food. Got kimbap and tteokbokki at k street... garlic soy chicken at pike chicken & beer. I'd recommend everything I ordered and will not hesitate to order it again! Wish the garlic soy chicken was a little crunchier but it's very flavorful and won't complain about anything else. Outside of these 2 places... pike kitchen also has options for poke bowls, bubble teas, pho, ramen... and basically so many other things your heart can desire. There's definitely something there for everyone! Parking out front is limited since there are other storefronts in the area. If you can't find parking right out front... there's parking beneath the building to the left (follow the signs!) as well. With all the Asian food halls popping up in the area this one is definitely my favorite. It has the most variety of foods from Korean, Japanese, Chinese, and Vietnamese. It also has great options for whatever you're craving and good for any time of the day, whether it's for a snack, lunch, dinner, or dessert! It's a great one stop shop for everything. I have yet to try all the food spots they have to offer but my usual go-to is the soy garlic chicken at Pike Chicken. It's super flavorful and juicy and I love the little peanuts they put on top. It's a great snack food and I love pairing it with odeng soup (or fish cake soup) from the stall next door to cut down the slight grease of the chicken. I've tried the mango fruit tea at Monster Tea but it's just your regular, standard bubble tea. I wouldn't say it's anything special. The bakery next to it has great options for pastries and I love getting their mochi donuts since most bakeries don't carry it. My only complaint would be that it can be hard to find seating sometimes but that's only because it's a hot spot for food, not because there's little seating. I don't come here too often because the parking lot can be a nightmare sometimes despite there being a parking garage underneath the Iron Age but I'll make the trip if I'm craving the chicken! read more

Hands down, one of my favorite places to eat at for brunch with my family. Pike Kitchen is our to-go spot for brunch, every Sunday. Interior has such a cute & urban style. Bathroom sinks are divided by gender; bathroom toilets are in their own rooms. Floors are always clean & never slippery. There are so many venues to eat at. I always go to the Japanese venue & order their ramen, then go to the Korean venue to order some fish cakes. On days I crave sweets, I go to the bubble tea venue & order some drinks or ice cream. One thing that I am not a fan of is their Red Velvet Cupcakes; it doesn't taste anything like red velvet. It has a very artificial strawberry taste that none of my cousin could consume. Not to mention, their prices for a chocolate covered strawberry is very expensive. Overall, I will continue to eat at Pike Kitchen every Sunday! Love love love!!! read more

You have Monster Bubble Tea along with the desserts and ice cream they sell, Bibibop bowls (which is contents mixed with rice), Japoramen which (serves great delicious ramen for its price!) and then next to that the Vietnamese sandwiches are a must have. This is a mostly korean food hall concept with some pretty good food. There isn't enough tables if you come during lunch and we ended up waiting to find seats. I tried the soy garlic chicken and fries from Pike chicken and that was not bad but not as good as Bonchon. The hwe dupbop from bowl play was pretty good but not prepared the traditional way. It just had tuna and salmon but it wasn't bad for $14. The shoyo ramen was not that good and only came with 1 piece of pork and the broth tasted burned and wasn't that good. The bakery had pretty good selection although it is not made there, I liked the almond galette and strawberry tart. Overall, not a bad place for Asian food and I prefer this over the Spot. read more

So far so good with this place. I haven't been able to try it all yet, but I have had the following; -a matcha bubble tea with lychee jelly (delicious). A little sweet for my taste but I was a bit hungover so it hit the spot (lol) -a salmon poke bowl (from the place to the right of monster tea). They all delicious and the size is so fulfilling. I can taste freshness and yummy taste in all their food. The banh mi can be spicy, so if you cant take any spicy, make sure to ask them. Solid solid Korean snack food and their other varieties of food, such as the chicken, are super tasty. This type of location is a gem. They're open pretty late. Pike Kitchen is reminiscent to me of snack food cafes in Korea that served similar dishes. Prices are a dollar or two more than I'd like them to be for certain menus but if you're in the mood for Asian cuisine and not sure what you want, this place offers a wide variety of options. Keep in mind it can get crowded at night and there can be a lot of kids, so if you're not a fan of the two, take out is probably your friend. read more

This place was nothing short of AMAZING! Wow! Imagine walking into the most alluring Asian food court. This is what it feels like in this restaurant. There are several different places to choose from offering what I presume to be Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and Vietnamese. We tried the Japomen Ramen (delicious), the sesame chicken and fries , and my boyfriend got the chicken Korean gyro to-go (which he was speechless at how delicious it was).
