We came here twice - once for dinner and once for lunch the day after. Food was a great mix of modern Hawaiian and pan Asian flavors. Husband's favorite meal was the oxtail saimin and mine was the fried confit chicken. This was our favorite place we ate at in Waikiki! Service was super friendly and considerate, felt very genuine. There was an outside eating area with live music, but we preferred sitting inside (a bit hard to tell they had indoor seating just passing by) since the location in front of a bus stop made a bit of noise. Located at the former Food Pantry space, Piko offers a casual Asian/Pacific menu at reasonable prices considering it's in the heart of Waikiki. Casual here doesn't mean boring, however: Manila Clam Pinakbet is a substantial plate of clams and veggies in a tart broth, AweSaam Tempura Cauliflower's ssamjang dip is indeed awesaam, Kapakahi Fries are studded with fish cake and char siu, and the Garlic Noodles are a hearty soba in a creamy sambal butter-oyster sauce, made even more decadent with the topping of a Waialua Fresh egg. Of course, it was dessert first with the Mango Soft Serve - big enough to share between two people, and it comes with a shaker of li hing powder in addition to four small bowls of toppings: mochi, fresh pineapple, crushed akashi and toasted coconut. It's the only dessert on the menu, but honestly, that's all you need. Parking is easiest at International Market Place, where the first hour is free with the purchase of $10 anywhere in the mall. The next three hours are $2 each and then standard rates apply ($3 every 30 minutes). read more

We made a dinner reservation via Open Table for 6 people at around 4:00pm on a Saturday and managed to squeeze one in at 6:00pm. When they learned we also have a baby requiring a high chair, the staff were quick and gracious to accommodate. There was live music going on when we arrived, but thankfully the walls/windows are thick enough that we could have a decent conversation indoors. I imagine folks sitting outside had to speak up to be heard (the servers themselves commented how loud it was outside!) Our server was Adam who was patient with our somewhat chaotic (short attention span) group. We ordered a variety of items to share: Brussels sprouts kim chee, potato salad, garlic noodles, oxtail saimin soup, pipikaula, confit chicken, ahi poke, and seared ahi cakes. We ended up ordering another noodle with egg on the side because baby is allergic to egg (we assumed there was no egg in the noodles, and since baby didn't have a reaction, I guess our assumption is right! But I'd caution everyone to double check!)! Everything was delicious but the standout dishes in my opinion were the garlic noodles, which seems to me like an Asian-style carbonara with the raw egg yolk and optional Parmesan cheese. The Okinawa noodles were perfectly al dente. I also enjoyed the pipikaula, which was a hybrid of kalbi-jerky drenched in sauce, as well as the potato salad, which I guess is inspired by Japanese deluxe potato salad with a pinch of wasabi. And like every other review mentioned, the confit chicken was perfectly crispy outside and tender and juicy and fully cooked inside! The chicken came with Szechuan pepper/salt and a dipping sauce but I think they're better on their own. I was told the oxtail saimin was delicious and filling for one person. The poke was too salty for me, the seared ahi cakes was ok but not great, same as the Brussels sprouts kim chee. The bill totaled approx $150 which I thought was reasonable. The poke was market price, which I didn't ask beforehand. The complimentary shots were delicious. Our group didn't order any drinks, only had the iced water that the staff brought to us immediately after we sat down. We did not have any dessert. On the whole, service was fine. Everyone was nice. The food were served relatively quickly but not together all at once and often one at a time. It'd have been ok if the first couple of items were something substantial like the noodles or chicken but kind of awkward when it's one tiny dish of kim chee or potato salad. We also had to ask for our waters to be refilled. Parking is on the right sight of the building. You'd have to go around the one-way streets (essentially making a "U-turn") after you see Waikiki Market on your left. The first three levels are for retail customers. Piko validates, supposed to be $4 for 2 hours, otherwise, it's $4 for every 30 minutes! Somehow we ended up paying $12, so I recommend you either double check the correct rates or park elsewhere with cheaper rates and walk over. Solid 4.5 stars. read more

Came here for a Valentine's day dinner and I may have misread the menu lol. It's basically just a bar that serves food (I mistook this for an actual restaurant) on the bottom of the newly built Lilia in Waikiki. The food was okay to say the least, we ordered almost all of the Baos, minus the vegetarian one, the flavors were just okay, not nothing really special and $12 bucks for 2, I rather just go to Menya for Baos. The garlic noodles were flavorful but very skimpy for the price, you would think for the amount they charge the noodles would topple the plate. The best thing was the fried chicken, perfectly fried with hints of lemongrass and garlic, a very nice lime juice based dipping sauce enhanced the chicken perfectly. The service was great, our server was very attentive and food came out quickly. All in all, the food was alright, the prices were a bit extreme. The ambiance was nice, if youre just looking to relax and the service was good. I probably won't be going back though. read more

Located on the ground floor of Waikiki Market. Met up with very friendly staff members who cheerfully welcomed me! They made sure my water cup was always full and checked now and then how I was doing. I thought that was nice of them to make sure I was happy! I ordered the garlic noodle which was sooo delicious with just the perfect amount of garlic and a slight spicy taste, I also ordered the kimchi brussel sprouts which was out of this world with flavors seasonings listed on their menu. Awesome balance of those seasonings! These two dishes paired well together for an explosion of flavors that I immensely enjoyed! I also ordered their mango sorbet dessert and it was very refreshing and playful to eat. They had five separate toppings you could choose to use all of it or not. It located across the street from international market place and offers Hawaiian fusion food. They had live music when we came on a Sunday at 5pm. The service, food presentation and ambience were amazing. Our server, Cliff, was very attentive to details and had a great attitude and vibe. The food came out pretty quickly. We ordered the Mochiko Chicken Sandwich, Oxtail Saimin and Classic-ish Milk Tea. The Chicken sandwich was the best thing we ordered but it came out old. The pickles in the burger could be more "pickled" as they just tasted like cucumber. They serve it sandwich with fries and house made sauces which I think would taste better hot as well. Overall flavor of the chicken patty and the condiments was well balanced. The oxtail saimin had a really nice flavor and I liked that it came with vegetables. However, the noodles were very over cooked. The milk tea was refreshing but lacked a more deep tea flavor. The oat milk was fresh and creamy though! Randomly picked this place to take my daughter's boyfriend out for his birthday and because he was leaving for college. The service was excellent. Everyone was really nice. We sat inside and no was in there. Most people sat outside by the bar with the live music. So, it was nice to have the inside to ourselves. The drinks were interesting. Mines was an ice tea. It tasted ok but it has a weird aftertaste which didn't stick around. My daughter had a strawberry drink and she said it was really sweet. The food was good. We shared it like family style. Really enjoyed this elevated Hawaiian restaurant just off the beach in Waikiki. They have both an indoor and outdoor dining area.
