Went here earlier this year when they just opened up and grabbed an e-foodie deal that offered a BOGO for any drink on the menu. I saw that they had kombucha on tap, so we decided to go with that. The guy working (assuming it was the owner) gave us samples and that was great, so we went along with that. The place is very clean and spacious. Wi-Fi is included and has outlets as well. Nice place to study and get work done. It's DTF so good luck trying to find parking. Watch out for signs and colored curbs. Being a student, I have been to several coffee shops. There are always a few that give attitude to us because they know we have our laptops and plan on staying for a while. I think some people forget that we are a customer and still pay for food and coffee when we come. This place is not like that at all. The man at the front (who I can only assume is the owner) is so kind. He does not scoff, give attitude, nor treats his student patrons any differently. I always appreciate seeing this at coffee shops and make sure I review when the service is great. As for the food and coffee: both are wonderful! Now you might be wondering, does Downtown Fullerton REALLY need another coffee shop? What I would like to propose to you today is yes, yes it does. Here's why: 1. Dripp is great. You're not getting out of there for less than $5. At Pilgrims's I just got a Butterscotch latte (quite tasty, night I add) for $5 including tip. 3. Night Owl is also great. And small. And slightly claustrophobic. Pilgrims has tons of space, high ceilings, and plenty of outlets. 3. Starbucks is.... well let's not go there. So for good coffee with reasonable prices and enough space to hang out and not feel like other people are stepping on your toes, Pilgrim's is it. I'll still keep the other coffee spots on my rotation, but this hidden gem will definitely see me again. (The only downside I have is I'm gluten free, so I can't eat any of their food. But that's pretty much the case wherever I go.) read more

Went here to read and try the coffee. I spend most of my time reading and catching up on some studies wasn't able to order coffee. As I was leaving the worker/manager got my attention to let me know he will not be able to let me sit inside the coffee shop next time unless I purchase a coffee or a cookie. I watched a couple other people read or on their lap tops and not order anything before leaving. Disappointing experience will not be back to spend my hard earned money there. Pilgrim's has become my go-to spot for working/studying. It has great indoor space, lots of plugs, chairs and booths to choose from, and great drinks. The staff are always great, and people go there also to study, which means it's not loud and you're with others who need to get things done. My boyfriend and I came here for the first time today and enjoyed chatting with him about the evolution of Pilgrim Coffee and the North OC coffee community. Only reason that I gave 4 stars is because my bf and I both got cold brews (I got regular, he got nitro), but both were a little watery. Cute little coffee place that has a good work/meeting/computer vibe. Located in adorable Downtown Fullerton neighborhood. I didn't have an issue with parking bc it's midweek/midday, but on weekends one can only imagine the shortage of parking around here. I got an iced butterscotch macadamia milk latte for just under $6.00 total. It was ehhhh. The ingredients sound like this should have been a delicious flavorful concoction, but it was blahhhhh. I think one problem was I didn't taste any of the butterscotch flavor so, I'm thinking it never made an appearance in my drink. Which would make sense because the kid that was helping me wouldn't crack a smile if you gave him a $100.00 tip so, I didn't. I may try this place one more time, or not. read more

Great place to work or study. Great coffee. Great customer service and lots of places to sit with plug outlets!!! It was a bit warm..don't think the air was on and it's summer! A quiet place to study/work alone. I wouldn't recommend meeting up with a study group. Plenty of street parking in front or the parking lot in the back. Horrible service, unfriendly cashier, didn't make eye contact or even tell me that my transaction was over...? Just walked away. No "thank you", no "your order will be ready in a minute". I awkwardly stood there & a couple moments later he looked at me like I was the crazy one for milling around. Still didnt say anything. I just dropped in to kill time while I waited for a table at a nearby restaurant. For a small coffee shop with lots of other competitors nearby, it's hard to see why they wouldn't work more on their customer service skills in an effort to draw in business (or keep the customers they have). Hot vanilla latte with almond milk. I love this place. Some cafes that are quieter have an uneasy vibe to them but not this one, it is quiet but not uncomfortably so.. I feel calm and relaxed. The two guys working behind the counter didn't rush me at all and were kind and caring. Great coffee and atmosphere! I would recommend this place for someone who wants to get work done or read a book in peace. If I was catching up with a friend this would not be the place to go though, it just depends on what you're looking for. Random stuff- Food, they have bagels, muffins, oats, brownies, or croissants. Comfortable seating wise, they have metal chairs on one side of the tables and then leather booths on the other. Art wise they have art on the walls, 50+ pieces to admire. The lights are unique and on one wall it is just windows so there is natural lighting too. Bathrooms, they have a single men's and a single women's. You need the key to open them so I'm guessing it's for customers only. read more

This place is pretty cool, and I would certainly recommend. It's been asked many times: "how many more coffee shops does downtown Fullerton need?" I do not have the answer to that, but I can say I hope this place sticks around, mostly because this is perhaps the most authentic coffee shop. Night owl is great because of the live music and art there, but doesn't have the best actual coffee. Dripp is interesting, trendy, and "insta-worthy" but also doesn't have the best coffee and is over-priced in my opinion. Pilgrim's is great because the coffee here is delicious; they use beans from a local-ish, micro-roastery and it tastes really fresh. Compared with other smaller roasters, the beans from this roaster tend to be a bit darker and roastier. When I've been here, it's been fairly quiet so I'd expect this to be a good place to do work or study. read more

Usually this place is creepy quiet with all of the tables and chairs filled, but the last time we went (Christmas Eve), there was music playing softly and it had a nice pleasant vibe. I think usually it's dead silent, and library-like because most people who go there are studying or working on their laptops, but still...soft music is nice. The coffee is good. I ordered an Iced Vanilla Soy Latte 20z .... it was amazing. First of all, let me say the prices are a little less than the coffee shops near by are charging for this. The barista assured me the espresso wont be burnt. When I got my cup, the espresso was sitting on top and it was aesthetically pleasing to see. After shaken up and stirred, I tired and the latte was delicious. The coffee had amazing notes, particularly sweet tobacco which I never heard before but glad I gave it a try.
