Stopped in on a Wednesday, Alex the cashier was friendly and made a few recommendations. We ordered the asada fries and a gringo chicken taco. The asada fries are tasty and enough for two to share. The chicken taco was meh. One thing I can't stand is food that isn't served hot. My chicken taco was warm at best. Flavor was bland too. I appreciated the salsas that were included as they added much needed flavor to the taco. I might stop in while in the neighborhood, but probably wouldn't make a special trip to come here. I don't usually dine in there but if you do, you can expect clean tables and a TV tuned into a soccer match. Calling ahead for pickup is so easy and convenient. The variety of taco options is impressive. The portion sizes are quite generous. One of my favorites is the darkness burrito. This last visit last week was a bit sad. As my reviews show, I am a huge fan of their chicken flautas. Just LOVE LOVE them. This last time we went it was NOT what we were used to. They were soggy and oily. Bc when you get them to go, they put the accompaniments on the side (which I appreciate) and bc of this you are able to see the flautas alone, no sauce etc. These were a soggy greasy mess. Excess oil and old oil taste like we have NEVER experienced. We will no doubt try again but I was wanting to post this if only for the management to see. Something was amiss that day. When we went up to order at the counter the guy working gave us some incredible recommendations with the gringo tacos and the potato tacos. He was super friendly and accommodating. The tacos themselves were delicious, while not necessarily the prettiest, the taste was so good. They made their own crunchy shells and stuffed them with tender meat with a delicious sauce and topped them with veggies. The place had a small, casual, and food focused feel. You order at a counter and then sit down at these picnic tables off to the side where your food is delivered. This is a place where you can have a quick meal or stay and talk for a long time. I placed an order on Uber Eats, and the food was thankfully still warm when it arrived. The packaging of the tacos could use some work. The chicken mole tacos were flavorful without being overly spicy, which I appreciated. The refried beans were extremely delicious, but the Spanish rice that I was so looking forward to was BLAND, BLAND, BLAND! To me, the price point sits above what the food is worth. Solid!! After eating several "meh" tacos over the past month or so (how does that even happen here in L.A.???), Boyfriend and I hit up Pinche's for lunch recently. It's a small casual place with a fun vibe and not too pricey, exactly what we were looking for. We each got a 3-taco combination plate - a fish, a shrimp and a chicken taco for me; and a carnitas, Al Pastor and chicken for him. I was here (twice!) on my last trip to LA. My friends and I ordered at the counter and sat outside. I only ordered Chilaquiles (I couldn't try something else after trying them), but I think these might be the best Chilaquiles I've ever had (including Mexico City!). The chips were crunchy, but still soaked in the liquid. They use chopped up onion, cilantro and egg in the sauce as well. These had SO much flavor, the chips are perfectly crispy and everything was just perfect. My friend got huevos rancheros which came with 3 eggs on homemade tortillas (amazing) and was a great value for the portion. Each meal was $13-14, which I thought was extremely fair for the quality of ingredients and portion size. I'm surprised by the reviews saying this place is overpriced. Really great food that my family has loved for years- they recognize my husband when he comes to pick up our order. TWICE over the course of less than a year we found WIRE GRILL BRUSH pieces in our food. TWICE. The first time we called resto immediately called the restaurant and promptly received a call back from a manager who assured us it would never happen again. From that point on, we ordered pinches way less and I was constantly checking the food. WELL IT HAPPENED AGAIN. Honestly truly frightening to find wire bristles in a taco you are about to feed your child. If you are wondering how awful it is to accidentally swallow a wire bristle - google it. It's a life altering injury that often results in multiple corrective surgeries if you are lucky. Seriously pinches, do better. It's completely unsafe to eat your tacos. read more

I also ordered a tortilla soup and I got two small cups of hot sauce. The hot sauce is HOt! I'm pretty sure it has habaneros in it but I loved it! My food was just delicious. Supreme. Fantastic! I am sad to say that I had high expectations and I was not wowed by their food. I ordered a torta. Nothing spectacular and nothing I would probably order again. Not bad, but certainly not good enough for the amount I paid $12 (a plain sandwich) Sadly three out of the five of us felt the same way. This review is for the Culver City location. I have been a long-standing customer of Pinches for as long as they've been in business. I have recommended countless customers to their location on Sunset in Hollywood. They are the ONLY place I go to get GOOD, fresh, Mexican food. I admit they are pretty overpriced ($60 for a plate of nachos, tiny (4oz you know the size of standard small salsa container) guacamole and chips, and two taquitos, but at least I know when I order food, I know what to expect. I can USUALLY count on fresh, flavorful ingredients with nearly ANYTHING I order. Pinches RARELY disappoints (ok they def aren't generous with portions or giving containers of their salsa-even on a large order) and when they do it's such a minor detail that my meal isn't ruined. Having said that I ordered the same food I usually do from the CC location and I was shocked at first look. I figured looks can be deceiving so I tried my food anyway, but they weren't in this case. The chips were stale, the meat was old and hard, there were missing ingredients on my food (not one drop of guacamole), less than a teaspoon of sour cream, and overall just poor quality. I took a bite and immediately tried to get in touch with someone in the store. No one answered. I was so frustrated that I almost drove there, but it would've taken me over an hour just to get to that area, and I didn't have time for that. So I called to no avail. I tried calling again the next day (morning) and no one answers their phone apparently. I thought I'd talk to someone and at least ask that they replace my food and try again, but could not get in touch with anyone. Very disappointing as I recently moved closer to this location and the other location on Sunset is much further away from me now. It is apparent this location is not managed well...I've never had any challenges with my food at the Sunset location to this degree, nor have I had any problem getting in touch with someone if I do. For years, I had nothing but good things to say, especially about the Culver City spot, which consistently delivered on flavor and had a fantastic crew. But my recent experience has completely soured that loyalty, all thanks to the owner. My issues began when I reached out to inquire about a last-minute catering order. After being told the owner would call me back, I eventually heard from Jorge. We spoke briefly about options, and he asked me to email him the details for a quote. I sent a email outlining the number of people and my interest in various food options like chicken, carne asada tacos, and enchiladas etc, clearly asking for pricing. What followed was nothing short of appalling. Jorge's replies to my email were insultingly brief, completely failing to address my questions. When I followed up, attempting to get more specific information about pricing and what exactly would be included in the order, his responses devolved into incredibly dismissive, single-word answers. To receive such blatant disrespect from anyone in customer service is frustrating, but to experience it directly from Jorge, the owner of this location(Culver City), is truly shocking. His inability or unwillingness to provide basic information or even respond with a modicum of professionalism is a complete disservice to this franchise and certainly to long-standing customers. The service is decent but best location with friendly and enthusiastic staffs are the one on Glendon Ave. A good selections of dishes and flavours. Extremely delicious and satisfying. Good portion and reasonable price for the quality. Tacos are fluffy but not soggy on the outside and inside is just heaven. The cactus was interesting in the best way and the fried fish was my favourite. Had to go back for their tacos the next day. Salsa and guacamole was a bit spicy but mild so great for anyone, and they are super fresh. The chips are so freaking crispy and tastes great even without salsa or guacamole. This location's washroom is clean and tables are clean too. Street parking and they have their own little parking lot. They have a patio area too. read more

I found this place By accident I was doing uber and I had to pee very badly lol. THE FOOD IS AMAZING probably the best Asada tacos i have ever had. I think the tortilla are fresh and handmade. And meat is fantastic. Even the salsa just absolutely amazing but I think what amazed me the most was seen in the menu that they do not use any lard! I am muslim and do not eat lard or pork so this was a major plus for me. Next time I am in the area and doing uber I will definitely come back here.
