Cute, cozy, and modern place. Option to sit outside is also available. The staff was friendly and helpful. This was my first visit at Pineapple Sol and I didn't know what to anticipate. We ordered chicken and waffles, Philly cheesesteak, loaded truffle fries and two lattes. Our lattes were good. I ordered Polar Bear Latte, I wasn't sure about the raspberry syrup and white chocolate but I wanted try something different. It was delicious! 5 stars! The food was good as well. Chicken and waffles were good. I guess I expected battered chicken but it wasn't (nor did the menu say it would be) It was good. Waffles were big light and fluffy and chicken had a slight crisp and much flavor. Philly steak was classic steak and cheese. Bread was soft and vegetables were fresh. Loaded Truffle fries... Saved the best for last. These fries came to the table hot and cute! The menu says it comes with a side of aioli, we didn't get a side of anything but I'm not sure if it was on top of the fries or was that cheese. Pineapple Sol is absolutely extraordinary. They are kind, flexible, and hugely talented. I have followed their business for a long time as I loved their aesthetic and that they were woman and minority owned, but the price gave me a little pause. Finally, for our law firm's holiday open house, I engaged them. It was so much more wonderful than I had hoped! The food was delicious, the presentation was extraordinary, and the people involved really cared about my business as well. Our guests are STILL talking about how amazing it was! Pineapple Sol also recommended other vendors we could use, and each was excellent. It was above and beyond my expectations. Pineapple Sol went on to deliver Christmas Eve platters to my neighborhood. They were responsive, accommodating, and the platters were incredible. I cannot recommend them highly enough!! If you are on the fence, the answer is HIRE THEM! The atmosphere says bohemian date night. I love it. The color scheme is beautiful. You order your food, pay & take your number to your table. They'll bring out your food. Space is limited but they offer outdoor dining. High top seating is available near the windows. I can't wait until the weather warms up & I can enjoy my iced coffee outside. I will say this, KUDOS to the staff!!! They were young but the customer service was phenomenal! I normally witness a lot of playing or lack of customer service when the staff is very young but this crew, not at all. Very friendly, gave great recommendations, attentive & kept smiles on their faces. Their selection of flavored syrups for their coffee was nice; Rose, Lavender, White Chocolate, etc. I tried the coffee flight. I loved it. It allows you to pick 4 flavors from their flight menu. My grandson enjoyed his strawberry hot cocoa with marshmallows. I'm definitely returning here. They offer breakfast & lunch menus during the week and a brunch menu for the weekend. Ordered lunch for the office here on Thursday. Everything was cold and soggy. We placed the order at 11 for noon pick up- trying to give them more time for prep as they opened. Seems like they cooked the food asap and left it until noon for pick up. Sadly, no one ate lunch. The food here is mediocre at best. Which is really sad because the service and hospitality is sooo great! I ordered the chicken club sandwich. The chicken was bland and there wasn't any sauce or flavor to the sandwich. My friend said the same about her burger. And my other friend ordered the lamb skewers and the lamb was sooooo dry. They replaced the lamb with chicken tenders that were actually really good and had seasoning on them! And the truffle fries were also pretty good. I wouldn't say I would never come back. My friend and I decided to try out Pineapple Sol this morning before we did our "Cary Adventure". We have both seen a lot of social media stuff about the place, so we knew we wanted to get there before a big brunch crowd. Definitely a cute spot. When you walk in, you walk up to the counter with the menu above. Pick your items, pay and then find a spot and they will bring you your food/drinks. The staff were friendly and explained things since it was our first time. Food came out and was very tasty. My friend got the breakfast bowl and loved it. I got the Malibu breakfast and it was just the right amount. We shared a coffee flight. The Snickers was my favorite. All in all, it was a great little space with seating inside and out. I have visited Pineapple Sol few times before writing a fair review. Unfortunately, every time I visited the same thing would happen and I couldn't even get to eat the food I ordered. It is a chic place and staff that takes your order is super sweet. Few times that I ordered food here for to go check out person says it will be 30 mins. Sadly every time the wait becomes more than an hour of me standing and asking about my food. All I get is we are understaff in the kitchen, or the order gets mixed up. Unfortunately I do not have 2 hours in my day to pick up a to go lunch order. So, I end asking for a refund. I hoped this was an one off experience that's why I kept going back but sadly it seems to be the trend. I cannot make any comments for the food because I never got to that point. read more

We used Pineapple Sol to cater my baby shower over the weekend. They were phenomenal! They arrived on time with the food and set it up in our kitchen in about 5 minutes. The food was delicious! We had ordered the chicken salad croissants, fried chicken sliders, and hamburger sliders, as well as the pasta salad, and a fruit/cracker tray. We also had them make us some specialty cupcakes that were so darling and so tasty! Everyone at the shower raved about how good everything was. I've finally gotten a chance to stop by this cute cafe! The last time I was in this area, this was a coffee and gelato shop called Fresca, but I'm so glad Pineapple Sol is here. The inside is adorably decorated. It's a small place but their menu is very large and they have a great selection of food and drinks. I ordered the lavender haze latte which was very good, I will be ordering again. For breakfast I had the Criispy Chick which is a chicken biscuit with a side of tots. The food was tasty and it came out pretty past. Since it was a bit crowded inside, I sat outside. It was raining but the seating is covered so it was very peaceful. Blueberry pancakes with whipped cream was disappointing to say the least. A white paste was painted over the top layer. It bore no resemblance whatsoever to whipped cream. I have no idea what it was. Blueberries were not in the pancakes. A gritty blue substance was glopped on top of the white paste. It had not a trace of blueberry taste. I also have no idea what this was. Pancakes themselves were very dry. Only a tiny plastic container maybe 2 tablespoons of syrup was provided. No butter. The service was non-existent. Food was dropped in front of me by a person from the kitchen (no utensils or napkins). No servers seems to work there to check on customers. There seems to be no interest in assuring customers are satisfied. I was not. Ambience was what you would expect from a place who shoe no interest in assuring their customers got what they wanted. read more

Pineapple Sol is open in Waverly Place. My husband and I stopped to check it out for lunch, it was the balsamic glazed caprese panini with a side salad for him and the triple-decker turkey club with a side salad for me. Both sandwiches were really good and filling. You have to check out the desserts, we tried a slice of cake and a few macarons (our favorite was the lavender). After seeing so many of the foodie pals I have on Instagram post about this place I finally checked it out. We actually tried to come by on the weekend but it was packed. Came by around 1030am on a tuesday. I don't mind the order at the desk then seat yourself service but I wasn't entirely happy with the setup. Menus strewn all over the front desk, the dessert case looked unclean and the cakes must have been there for a day or two, or at the very least the fridge has dried them out. There were a lot of flies and even a wasp inside where we initially tried to sit. We moved tables only to find a syrup covered countertop and moved two more times to find a suitable table. The booth seating is covered in plastic, which I get for a cleaning standpoint but in NC humid shorts weather it is not pleasant to sit on. I wanted to take pictures of the decor but a good portion of the neon lighting was out. We ordered a tea, cappuccino, avo toast and cinnamon french toast. The person working the front is nice but clearly a bit overwhelmed, completely understandable considering how the restaurant industry is currently. I had wanted a coffee flight but was told they were on hold because the glasses kept breaking, understandable for sure but I personally would have been happy with a compromise (give me normal mugs idc!) The coffee and tea were as expected. My partner liked their french toast but it wasn't anything remarkable. My avocado toast was tasty but I would have liked runny eggs, they were hard cooked, and the bread was just some regular whole grain bread. I would have liked something a little more luxurious, like a thick cut sourdough or brioche from one of our local bakeries. I eat feta and avocado toast regularly at home and I expect a bit more from a restaurant made version. All in all its fine, but I personally wouldn't go back. I know they haven't been officially open for long and have a lot of kinks to work out especially in a "living with covid" world but I didn't get the hype. read more

I'll definitely try it again but order something different. We were in a bit of a hurry today so I picked the fried chicken biscuit instead of smoked salmon and poached egg. They warned us when we ordered they were backed up and it would be 25+ minutes. The chicken breading had a great flavor, kind of like a dry rub for wings. But it was two pieces of thin, somewhat dry chicken and the taste of pure butter was present and overwhelming, probably from the biscuit. Not my jam but I'm sure a lot of people will like it. I'd been wanting to check out this place but it's never open during the hours I am in this lovely Waverly Place shopping center 2X a week. I was very disappointed. The funfetti cupcakes have been refrigerated & are the smallest literally 2 bites if that of cake & all frosting that I've ever had & I go to allot of gourmet bakeries. Also, unfortunately I was charged the wrong price & said something about the price being too high & the person said it was tax so I asked for the receipt & could see they charged me for a more expensive cupcake than I'd actually chosen. So I had to get a refund the owner was on the phone & could hear me saying I was disappointed the cupcake had been refrigerated. I did eat it since clearly a refund wasn't forthcoming & it had already taken so long but I was very disenchanted. Came here with 2 friends in the second day of opening for Brunch. This place is counter order and they bring it out to you..think Panera Bread. No alcohol options like you may expect most Brunch places to have. We ordered the Veggie Tostadas, the Creamy MR Chicken in Creamy MR Sauce and the Sunny Benny. The food came out and immediately there was hair in the Tostadas and we sent them back immediately. the MR sauce was in the side of the chicken dish instead of the chicken being marinated in it. The Benny was just right. The Tostada was good after it was recooked. The owner apologized and offered free pastries which I told her it was ok, and I appreciated it. I got the lavender honeycomb pancakes, which were so soft and fluffy. The lavender syrup was very flavorful, and you could taste the lavender coming through strongly.
