I'm very pleased to say that I've only had really great instructors and I've been lucky enough to have very small groups. My first couple of lessons were booked as beginning group lessons but ended up as private lessons. This year, I was paired with an another skier who was really close to my skill level. The entry point for skiing is not cheap. I feel like not only did I get my money's worth but I gained so much knowledge and great memories from these lessons. I feel confident going down the mountain and even went down my first Black Diamond! From beginner to going down a black in less than a handful of lessons feels like such an accomplishment and a true testament to the staff on this mountain.

For the 2025/2026 season it was the location for good skiing and even more so in the later part. The strangest season I've ever seen. Snow then rain, hot then cold then hot again, but Mammoth came through with some very good skiing if you were there at the right time. Nice upgrades on the Mtn with high capacity lifts and grooming but would like to see better dining options at the Main Lodge. Another thought would be for Alterra to loosen up with lift ticket options and pricing instead of forcing one to purchase the Ikon. All considerations taken Mammoth is still a great ski mountain and I look forward to next season........

We had an amazing stay this past weekend at the Mammoth Chalets! Management was so great with…read morecommunication, kind and accommodating, it made our trip that much more enjoyable since we did not have to stress over certain things like check in and parking. I planned this trip with a group of friends, and they could not stop commenting about how the chalets was the best stay they've been in at Mammoth. We stayed at chalet #9 which was not a ski out, but a very short walk to the main lodge/lifts and definitely a ski in from lower road runner. The chalet itself was cozy with plentiful seating, and even extra foldable chairs for our group. The beds were comfortable, and the bathrooms came equipped with hotel sized toiletries, which was a nice touch. The kitchen is a good size and well equipped with all the necessities, along with a fridge/freezer that was the perfect size to fit all of our weekend groceries. I also appreciated that they even had a huge pot to make group meals like pho, even though I had already brought my own instant pot. I would 110% stay here again and recommend the chalets to all of my family and friends. This was such a wonderful find. Thank you for the awesome stay Mammoth Mountain Chalets! :)

I came in here around 11am, however, their restaurant doesn't open until noon. There is a really nice lounge area where there are two fireplaces, jazz playing and a really cozy space to just relax. I just came here both days resting between XC sessions, ate some lunch I brought, had some water and just chilled out. Id definitely love to return and have a cocktail here and hang out here with a special someone, flirting the night away, plotting some clandestine tryst (maybe a beautiful hike into the mountains behind - looking at stars, listening for wild animals) and deeply enjoying life, big grins, and making each day count. Id also consider staying here on my next return, the surrounding area is just gorgeous!

A great hotel with plenty of amenities and relatively close to shopping and hiking!…read more Initially we had booked a standard king room, but upon arrival, we got upgraded to a two bedroom king room! That was really cool, we've never had such a nice upgrade before. The rooms come with all the standard amenities. In the summer, it's important to note there is no AC but the rooms have box fans in them you can put in the windows if it gets warm. The night time cools down pretty quickly so it's not terrible until the afternoon lol. But we spent most of our time outside of the room anyway. The pool is large and there are two hot tubs! Also a fitness room, which we didn't get around to using but it looked nice. Also, on the first floor, there's a store for any of the basics like sunscreen, snacks, T-shirts, and other gifts which is convenient. We had a great time staying here, and I think we would definitely stay here again next time we're in the area.

Only one window that opens with a screen in the bedroom. The living room door opens, but there is no screen so anything can fly in to your place. The place never really cools down. This lodge has everything for any skiers or snowboarders. It's five stories with different eateries and coffee shops overlooking the ski area. There's a school to learn skiing and equipment rentals if you forget to bring your own gear. There's also mountain sports to buy souvenirs and apparel.

The kids loved him and they quickly progressed from the magic carpet to the ski lift to doing runs. They didn't want to leave! They also offer ski valet right in the lobby, which makes the walk even shorter. Huge plus: boot dryers. Check-in was super easy, and we upgraded our room to one of their "condos." Just to set expectations: this isn't a full condo. It's essentially a hotel room with a small living area and a Murphy bed. Still comfortable and totally fine for what we needed. The best part of this hotel is that it's dog-friendly -- and truly dog-friendly. Any size dog, big or small, and there were dogs everywhere (including ours). There's a forested area behind the hotel that's perfect for letting your pup play in the snow. One downside: some guests don't pick up after their dogs, so there was dog poop around even though the hotel provides bag dispensers. Maybe adding more (or enforcing cleanup) would help. The price is good, the hotel is clean, but it is old -- very old -- and definitely showing its age. The hallway floors are uneven, the elevator makes some questionable noises, and nothing about it feels modern. That said, after skiing all day, the four hot tubs and heated pool are amazing and very much appreciated. I stay here for convenience, not luxury. The beds are comfortable, towels are clean, and that's honestly all we need. Plus, it's close to The Yodler, our favorite restaurant. We've stayed here many times before and will stay many times again.

Holiday into Pumpkin run (both green) is a super scenic, pretty low key long run to really be able to enjoy the view and a stress free ski. And the views on a clear day are spectacular! Eagle Lodge's rentals and ski valet (for multi-day rentals) is super convenient. The folks at the rental spot are friendly and very helpful. I got boots put on for me with some great tips to prevent shin pain and they were actually comfortable all day! Getting our prepaid lift passes was easy at automated kiosks as well. The food and drink options at this lodge are kind of iffy, nothing special. Some grab and go sandwiches/salads, and a chicken sandwich spot. It's not the place to be if you're looking for good apres ski and vibes. But again, convenient for where we stayed - Juniper Springs - and had what we needed!

We got the smoked pork sandwich and the bowl w/ brisket (bbq on a bed of greens - can't remember the name) and a couple Scotch Ales made at Mountain Rambler in Bishop. The pulled pork sandwiches, excellent, and the barbecue sauce was tasty. The bowl was filled with fresh greens, such as arugula, and had plenty of brisket, but the brisket was a bit tough and there were no knives to cut it. Then again were were there at 2:30 (near closing) so maybe the best cuts were gone. We would definitely go back. Let's face it, where else are you going to get great bbq and good beer at 9000 feet after all morning in the trails.
