Today I ordered The Yellow Tail Jalapeño which is Sliced Hamachi topped with a small sliced jalapeño and cilantro with ponzu sauce, the I ordered the Paradise Roll which was tuna, salmon, yellow tail and jalapeño topped with avocado, cherry tomato, caviar and mango sauce. The mango sauce definitely complimented the sushi with a delicious hint of sweetness. Overall a great experience. Still good after all these years! I was in the area today and remembered how good their sushi was so I had to stop by. I got the 30th Ave roll (with shrimp tempura and spicy crab) and Fusion Roll (with eel, avocado, tuna, masago) for takeout. Both rolls travelled well with me back home. Hi! I loved my experience at your establishment last year. I ordered excitedly last Monday 11/18 on ubereats and it was really not great. I'm usually someone who finishes all my sushi, but the texture to the spicy tuna rolls was terrible, the avocado was cut so huge in the eel avocado roll to where it ruined the rolls, and the salmon in my Philadelphia roll was kind of purplish... we threw a lot of it away. My hunny took me here for date night which was a nice surprise because I had it bookmarked for some time now. We had reservations for Saturday at 7:15pm. We found parking right outside the sushi bar. Although we had reservations we ended up waiting an additional 15 minutes. The host said they were slammed with additional people and didn't know what happened. The host asked if we wanted to wait at the bar until something opened up. I politely declined. I don't like waiting at a bar especially when reservations were already made. In my past experiences we are never called in a timely manner and patrons that come in after us end up being seated before us. We started off with the Scorpion Bowl which I asked to be spiked with extra liquor. It nearly knocked us off of our seats. It was good. I appreciate the mini bonfire presentation that came with the bowl. Make sure to drink as much as possible because towards the end it gets watered down. For our app we had scallion pancakes that came with a curry sauce. The curry sauce was on the thin side but it was delicious. It was perfect to dip the pancake in. The spiciness of the sauce was subtle yet had the right amount of heat to keep you going back for more. For our rolls we ordered regular sushi rolls and special rolls. I had the spicy kani roll and 30th avenue roll. He had the flaming dragon roll, dragon roll, and spicy shrimp. Omgosh everything was out of this world. Food was very good it's a nice simple restaurant. They have indoor and outdoor seating. I had the duck sliders which come in a dough type of bread. The dough kind of threw me off but it was good. From the outside, it's a small store on a busy street in Astoria but the inside really comes to life. The waiters and waitresses were very sweet and service was good. They constantly came around to make sure everyone was attended to. The Dragon Roll I got was pretty good but not up to the price point. The prices for the special rolls are comparable to city prices and honestly typical of Astoria/Long Island City prices nowadays. I will say that each of these rolls are some of the better rolls I've had for the similar price point. If we had to recommend one roll to get, it would be the Pink Nori Roll. We really enjoyed the Pink Nori Roll which had a sweeter twinge to it. As people who are not huge sashimi lovers but wanted to try a roll that had some semblance of raw fish, the seared salmon was very nicely done. Pink Nori is one of the best sushi spots in Astoria and what's even cooler is that it was created by a Stony Brook graduate (go Seawolves!). A lot of the sushi spots in Astoria aren't offering dine-in but thankfully if you're looking for that, Pink Nori's got you covered! I arrived around 7pm for dinner and we were seated right away. We started off with the Seaweed Salad (~$6) and Rock Shrimp (~$11). For our entree, we decided to share the Pink Nori Roll (~$14) and Pretty In Pink Roll (~$14). Seaweed Salad is one of my favorites and you honestly can't go wrong with it in a meal like this. It was fresh, light, and delicious. My only complaint was how little there was of it. It looks like a lot but it's actually sitting on a bed of cucumbers, so you're actually getting even less seaweed salad than the plate can hold. The Rock Shrimp is a must-have appetizer. The shrimp is crispy and balanced with the sweet/spicy mayo sauce. I could honestly eat my body weight in the rock shrimp alone. It's that good. The Pink Nori Roll includes cooked shrimp, avocado, tempura flakes, and caviar wrapped in a pink soy bean paper topped with seared salmon and serrano, served with honey miso glaze. The Pretty In Pink Roll is 10 pieces (versus the typical 8) and includes tuna, salmon, yellowtail, and avocado wrapped with pink soy paper and served with spicy mayo, eel sauce, and sweet wasabi sauce. Both rolls were super fresh, light, and had great flavor. I enjoyed the variety of fish used and the seared salmon was very tasty! I like that they don't overstuff their rolls with rice as a filler. For some reason, they weren't as filling, and I feel like we could have used a third roll. I think this location is a cute date spot with good service. The menu offers a wide variety of options and the food comes out quickly. But, I think delivery is a hit or miss. I ordered the Dragon Roll and Pink Nori Roll. The Dragon Roll was a big disappointment. There was plenty of avocado but barely any eel inside the special roll. For the price point, I felt I could have just ordered an eel cucumber or eel avocado roll and gotten the same thing. The Pink Nori Roll was good. I liked how they sear the salmon on the outside and finely chop the shrimp on the inside. The honey miso glaze was put in a separate container for delivery so I just used it as a dipping sauce. We ordered scallion pancakes, Connie salad, pink nori, godzilla, and ocean kiss. #1 The scallion pancakes tasted average but the sauce elevated it to make it good. The sauce is the star of this dish but unfortunately they gave so little of it. The plating is awful. Who plates like this (see pic). #2 Kani salad was a huge disappointment as its portion size was miniature with very little Kani and mostly cucumber. For the price of $7 is a total rip-off. The plate also filled with fingerprints which was gross. #3 pink nori specialty roll was okay; lacks flavors and the freshness isn't all there. There is almost no sauce to dip with so it is dry. Not very mouthful. Portion is small. #4 Godzilla roll was a joke of the portion category. Lacks flavors. #5 ocean kiss was the only decent one; it lacks the freshness in the raw fish but at least its sauce helped enhancing its flavors a lot. Otherwise, servers are okay. All in all, I would not revisit or recommend to others. There are many places better under the same cost while providing better portion, mouthfeel, freshness, flavors, and plating. read more

This is hands down one of my favorite sushi spots and I'll tell you why. I'm typically antsy about sushi spots that serve a more western inspired fare though some of my favorite rolls are absolutely western. Pink nori is absolutely perfect with their dishes - the sushi I order the most is the golden dragon and I have had it 10+ times and the mango slices they have on it are literally the freshest I've ever had, every single time. Whatever they're doing to make sure they use fresh ingredients, they're doing it very right. I'm also a huge fan on their sauces - the pink roll has this delightfully colored seaweed alternative and I wish I knew how to make the sauce it comes with because I would be drinking it for breakfast if I could! Their staff are always cheery and smile a lot. I always feel comfortable in the restaurant - even with the modern aesthetic it feels homey and conducive to conversation. This place is proud to serve the variety they do, and they aren't lacking in more traditional fare either. They serve everything exactly as it should be, and is really a gem in Astoria. Sometimes I wonder how Astoria attracts so many great restaurants, but this one is truly a star. My husband and I have been coming here 1 - 2 times a week for the past 2+ years. My usual is the 'Pretty in Pink' and 'Lover's Roll' , both without wasabi for me. SOOOO GOOD EVERYTIME! They have happy hour everyday 4 - 7pm . We always sit at the bar and get seats right away. My husband loves the hot sake and sushi deluxe or regular. Pricing is decent. Friendly staff.
