This is the sushi special $38 before tip. You get 10 pieces of nigiri (and miso soup), and while the fish is good quality and the rice was seasoned well, it just feels a little barebones. No roll included, no garnishes to dress it up, and the ponzu side I ordered was spilled all over the bag. It's fair value for the price and close to being very good, but overall it left me feeling kind of flat For more NYC sushi reviews, follow The Raw Report on TikTok.

This place is fantastic. Great lunch deals for either dine in or delivery. There is a great rice to fish ratio and everything tastes great. Always able to get seated quickly. Service is good and you don't feel rushed.

I ordered the two roll lunch special, choosing spicy tuna and spicy salmon, which came with a side salad. The sushi was fresh and flavorful. The rice was well-seasoned and held together nicely. The side salad was simple but had my all time favorite carrot ginger. The portions were just right for lunch --not too heavy, but filling enough. I came at an off hour so the place was super quiet. The staff was attentive even though they were prepping for dinner at the same time.

One of the best sushi options in UES, highly recommend if you need reliable sushi. There are so many options to order, I would recommend the ocean roll and anything rock shrimp could be biased as I love rock shrimp. Orders deliver quick and well in the packaging.

Came for the lunch special and ordered 3 sushi rolls, Eel with cucumber, salmon with avocado and fried sweet potato. All rolls were a delicious bite size. It also came with soup or salad and I chose the salad which was a big size but the dressing was amazing. I ate the whole bowl. The salmon and avocado roll was really good, the salmon was like melting in my mouth it was nicely fresh. The service was really good and attentive, i didn't wait long for my order so I was so satisfied with everything. I definitely will come back especially for lunch time! The restaurant is not as spacious the tables are close to each other but they have booths too. I don't mind the closeness but I also don't like hearing other people's conversations especially if they have kids with them.

I love this place. My absolute favorite gem in the UES. Their weekday lunch specials are off the hook and their specialty rolls are some of my favorites when it comes to dinner or something little more fancy

Met up with a friend for a quick dinner and opted for Amura as a convenient, sushi place nearby. I ordered the yellowtail don which comes with a soup or salad. I always love the salad dressings at Japanese restaurants so it was a solid salad. The yellowtail don included a scoop of sushi rice and about 10 slices of yellowtail don. Be aware that it might look a little like chicken sashimi (lol) but it tasted fine! My friend ordered the salmon don and I personally liked the taste of the salmon more. It's a decent amount of fish and I left feeling comfortable. They have tons of sushi roll options so definitely something for everyone! Service was efficient and we were in and out pretty quickly.

A solid lunch special: miso soup OR salad and 3 sushi rolls for $14.50. I got salad, salmon avocado, shrimp tempura, and spicy tuna rolls. The salmon avocado was my favorite! The spicy tuna was my second favorite. Next time I wouldn't get the shrimp tempura roll, it wasn't my favorite. Service was good and they were busy for a Friday during lunch. There was only 1 waitress and she was working hard! There's a single stall bathroom in the back.

Wow! I love it here! There are so many Sushi places in the neighborhood, and I finally came to this one- and boy, was I surprised as to how good it is! I was seated and given a menu, I order a cold beer and hot Saké, I perused the menu and order Edamame, some Nigiri Sushi, and 3 rolls. Everything was fresh, well-made, and had substantial portions! The service was attentive without being overbearing. It was a busy Thursday night, but not too loud. I will DEFINITELY be back here next time I am in the City!

Do they serve all you can eat sushi? If so, how much is it for dinner?

No. Amura is portion controlled. Yuka nearby has all you can eat and it is around $30 now.

Are they still open for delivery? 04/26/2020

The atmosphere here was a bit more lively and crowded compared to the more relaxed vibe of the UWS spot. I enjoyed my meal even more this time around. I started with the beet salad, which was delicious and offered great value given the generous portion size. it featured sliced beets, arugula, goat cheese, and walnuts. I also had my eye on the hijiki soybean salad--which is a bit smaller and reportedly homemade--so I may try that next time, along with the warm mushroom salad which looked very tasty. The edamame was standard but served as a nice starter. For my main rolls, I chose the salmon avocado and the yellowtail scallion. Both were very fresh and definitely worth ordering again. The salmon avocado roll had a nice touch of sesame seeds on the rice, while the yellowtail scallion was prepared with the seaweed on the outside. My boyfriend's sushi entree looked excellent, so I am considering that or the sushi-sashimi combo for my next visit. The entrees provide a substantial amount of food, and I especially appreciate that they allow you to choose which roll comes with your meal.

konban is a modern Japanese restaurant that focuses on creative takes on classic comfort dishes,…read moreespecially katsu, noodles, and small plates. We walked into a stylish, energetic space with a menu designed around sharing, making it a good option for a casual dinner or group meal. The interior has a contemporary, lively feel with an open kitchen that adds energy to the room, and the seating is arranged to accommodate both small groups and larger parties comfortably. Instead of sticking strictly to traditional Japanese dishes, the menu mixes familiar flavors with more modern presentations, creating a dining experience that feels both approachable and exploratory. The standout item is the katsu, which is where the restaurant really shines. We ordered the pork loin and tenderloin versions and found the breading crisp while the meat stayed tender and juicy, the crust holding up well without becoming greasy. The mazemen is another highlight, with chewy noodles and a rich sauce that brought a lot of flavor without feeling too heavy, the sauce coating each strand evenly and the toppings adding layers of texture and depth. Beyond those, dishes like the butter scallops, corn ribs, and seafood options added variety and made it worth ordering multiple plates to share. The scallops were well seared with a buttery finish, and the corn ribs offered a smoky, slightly charred flavor that paired well with the richer dishes. The desserts are also a memorable part of the meal. The corn ice cream is one of the more unique items, with a sweet and savory flavor that sounds unusual but works surprisingly well, the sweetness of the corn balanced by a subtle savory note that kept it from feeling cloying. It fits the restaurant's overall approach of taking familiar ingredients and presenting them in a more unexpected way, and the creativity of the dessert menu feels consistent with the rest of the meal. Service and atmosphere add to the experience, with attentive staff and a lively dining room that feels suited for groups. The team checked in at the right moments and kept the pacing of the meal comfortable, and the open kitchen added a layer of engagement as we watched the dishes come together. Reservations can be difficult to get, especially during busy times, and the small plate format means the best experience comes from ordering several dishes rather than focusing on one entree. The variety across the menu encourages sharing, and the pacing of the meal works well for a longer, more social dinner. konban delivers a well-executed modern Japanese dining experience. While some of the more hyped dishes may not completely live up to expectations, the katsu, noodles, and seafood dishes make it a worthwhile visit. The combination of creativity, quality ingredients, and a lively atmosphere makes it a destination for exploring different flavors and dishes together rather than just ordering one signature item, offering a meal that feels both engaging and satisfying.

The ube tiramisu was free since we wrote a google review for the restaurant. Everything was delicious and the zucchini was surprisingly good as well. The pork was so tender. the ebi tempura were huge, and the mazemen was thankfully not spicy. However, the scallops could've been more tender and we we were all unimpressed with the ube tiramisu. The wait times have gotten better over the years (probably because people are waiting for the restaurant next door), but the food and drinks here are still top-notch. Staff is always great, and they all work so efficiently. I am generally a fan of izakayas, but there are very few that offer plates that are designed to be shareable, and this is one of the reasons the food here is so enjoyable in a small group setting.
