Pros: The ambience is nice, with an ocean view on one side. They have underground parking lot for free, with an elevator to come back up to ground floor. They have a water jug with reusable cups on the counter. They also have a rewards program. Cons: Food. It was made with very little care, a sprinkle of dressing, the avocado was missing, after I asked, he put in 3 tiny slivers after opening a brand new avocado. The olives are like a teaspoon scoop and I asked for no feta as I am dairy free and there was still feta inside. Unfortunately, I didn't have the energy to ask to fix it. The only good thing was that they have gluten free focaccia. Of course additional $2 but definitely worth it. read more

In March 2026 m, I came back to eat and review Sacks on the beach after not eating here in a few years. There are many options in the area, but I wanted to see what their lunch special was. For a low price, you can get a half sandwich and salad. Can I say this, it was a very nice experience! I came back again and got a different sandwich and again it was very good. Their pasta salad is delicious and their sandwich/special is enough to keep you full. It has a very relaxed vibe and it was more relaxed this time. Service is friendly and fast during brunch hour. This little coffee shop is one block from the beach. They have a small kitchen to prepare breakfast and lunch items. I only ordered a latte, which was good. Service is nice. This is nothing out of the ordinary. Kind of a no frills spot. The meals I observed, looked tasty. They do have a lot of competition from trendy coffee shops nearby. It's all in what you want. read more

This place has so many things on their menu that sound so yummy that it was hard for me to decide what I wanted. I was also hungry too so it took me a bit longer. :/ I ordered the BLAT. It was the perfect sandwich for a beautiful day as I people watched and would stare at the beach that was about two blocks away. It also came with a choice of mixed greens, pasta salad, quinoa salad, or soup. I got a bag of chips. I also ordered a frappuccino mocha. It was good. A basic coffee shop 1- overall It's counter service. The interior is worn and has seen better days. The coffee is fine. The pastries are fine. You can sit inside or outside and it's on a corner so plenty of car watching. 2- service / ambiance The counter service is done with a scowl. There are never happy folks working here. Not that I need deliriously happy workers , but having "Debbie downer " at the start of the day is brutal. It's not going to be squeaky clean like a Starbucks. Think old , worn, shabby. Aka. Has character 3- accompaniment They do have vegan and vegetarian options. 4- parking Street pay parking in front. There is a free parking garage (don't bring a truck ) and -starting in the next street north - there is free street parking (check the signs for street cleaning days) 5- conclusion I usually meet up for a morning coffee with a friend who lives within walking distance - which is why we meet here. Otherwise I'm not sure I would go. There are nicer non corporate options in riviera alone. read more

Yuck! I can't believe i spent $10 on that! They use basic Thomas bagels which I believe they microwave not toasted. The eggs I feel they microwave and there is zero salt or pepper. It's was a mushy oily mess with zero flavor. I will not be coming here again. read more

Was in town for a quick trip to pick something up my son went for a run on the beach and we had lunch here afterward. What a great location. The food was homemade / scratch made & fantastic. Highly recommend you stop in and try it. Today is June 1, 2024 and it was a gorgeous day. We sat outside. We had a view of the ocean. I had the Rosarita rap and my son had the Italiano wrap. Great and fun little breakfast and lunch spot, feet from the Esplanade and Rivera Village. Lots of breakfast options and lunch options. One of my favorites is the South of the Border bowl. It's got eggs, avocado, turkey sausage, tortilla strips and an amazing salsa. A definite must try! I also really love their soups. Especially, the chicken tortilla soup. They have a pretty extensive menu for such a small and compact location. The manager, Carla is really friendly as is their entire staff. They are only open for breakfast and lunch, so give this place a try next time you are in South Redondo Beach read more

The go to spot before we go on a walk to the beach! Our order is always the breakfast in France, it so good. Would be nice to have more of that jelly in there lol. It comes with a small portion of fresh fruits. The coffee lately though hasn't been good. We usually get black coffee and it's been tasting like water down black coffee. Service is good, workers are very polite. We like to eat outside, sets out the vibes :) read more

This is a cute little corner breakfast spot. They have indoor and outdoor seating & some of the outdoor seating has an ocean view. Service was EXCELLENT. You could tell the lady working that day was a seasoned pro at this spot. Very efficient and super friendly. I loved my green tea latte. The bowl that I ordered was just okay. It's just food and subpar for a restaurant. Not bad, but honestly nothing you can't do at home better. Size was small. Still hungry after. The Bigfoot burrito wasn't big, cheese wasn't even melted. The good: I tried the el pollo guapo, fresh squeezed orange juice, and a green tea latte. The burrito was under $10 and had a green jalapeno tortilla, chicken, eggs, cheese, pico de gallo, and avocado. It came with a side of green salsa. The orange juice was super fresh. The prices here are very fair. They offer delivery. I liked that the burrito came with a small side of fruit. The burrito was big enough for me to eat half in the morning and half for lunch. The bad: The burrito could have used more flavor. I think the egg was the predominant ingredient I tasted. I think if the burrito were tastier I would've eaten the whole thing for breakfast but it was just okay, so I didn't have too strong of an impulse to finish it all at once. Sacks on the Beach is located in the heart of the Redondo Riviera and it's so cute! The vibes are all smiles and relaxing. This is a small little cafe shop next to tasting menu. The menu is vey unique with sandwiches like Breakfast in France which has a unique raspberry sauce and Turkey. It's like thanksgiving in a sandwich. I ordered "the Swiss" which lives up to its name. I got it sans tomato and it was PERFECT. The cheese is melty and savory. The Turkey, scrambled egg, and ON A CROISSANT. You couldn't have a more perfect breakfast sando for breakfast lunch or even dinner. This hit the spot. Parking was a little difficult to find but I parked in the underground structure for "tasting menu" and the nail salon and I had no issues. read more

Very cute causal spot. Order at the counter and they bring it to your table. If you sit outside on the west side you can see the ocean. It's about a block from the beach which was nice. Food was good. They made a mistake with my order but were very friendly and corrected it. I'll be back for sure next time in Redondo. read more

The worst place I have ever eaten breakfast. My wifen i had scramble eggs, sausage, and pancakes. My eggs were not over easy, super overcooked 1 of my pancakes was burnt. Both of them tasted like cardboard. The butter they gave us,already melted in the packet. Her sausages were like eating beef jerky. my wife's pancakes were also super overcooked.Would not eat there again and recommend eating elsewhere. read more

Really used to like this place, its not super close, so i usually order via doordash I like their chicken club, but annoys me is that the description says toasted french baguette, and instead on my last 3 orders, they served me untoasted wheat instead. I do not like wheat at all I know this is a small thing, but they have never once called me to ask if that was an okay substitution, for a sandwhich that ends up costing $20, i'd hope they could do a little better than that read more

I love supporting our local Blue Zone certified restaurants! All three of us loved our lunches. I got the Rosarito wrap. I planned on taking half home but it was so good, I ended up eating it all. The pasta salad was great too. It looked pretty plain but the dressing is what made it delicious. I will definitely be back! They also had baked goodies in the case but I was content. My wife and I came by for some Mother's Day breakfast and it was...okay. She enjoyed her El Pollo Guapo wrap loaded with eggs, chicken, and queso. That said, her lavender latte was, in a word, disgusting. Horribly imbalanced with so much lavender that it was all I could taste even a couple minutes after my one sip + sips of my own drip coffee in an attempt to wash it out. Lastly, the interaction I had with the service was unfortunately off-putting. There was an open bottle of hand sanitizer on the shelf that I used upon entering. Unbeknownst to me, it was supposed to be one for sale per the lady at the counter. I apologized and kindly suggested that they take that bottle off the shelf as it was obviously open and at least 20% used...only to be met with silence. Very awkward and uncomfortable. Better coffee, espresso drinks, and service can certainly be had elsewhere. read more

Liked the efficient service and hospitality of Sol and Manager Karla. We showed up with 11 or so ocean swimmers. Loved the daily special - pea soup and half sandwich. Asked Karla to chose what made sense from vegetarian options and her crew came up with an excellent avocado and veggies treat on super fresh and tasty bread. Also loved the pumpkin latte. Everyone seemed pleased with there meals, including tortilla soup and a south of the border veggie bowl. Thankfully only .7 miles from south end of bike path, where ocean swimmers congregate. Sorry the place is not in my neighborhood - $6 for excellent soup and sandwich was a great deal. read more

Fromage: Like Marine Crepe, the buckwheat out layer was soft. The mild brie cheese provided pleasant creaminess to the filling. Admittedly, all of the issues I'm about to list w the service are pretty small/minor, but there were a lot, so here we are: - water glass had tajin/margarita salt and some grime when it was dropped off - when I requested a new glass for water, it took 15 minutes - had to flag someone else down for it - food hit the table before the Bloody Mary (which we ended up cancelling) - table did not have cutlery/silverware, had to request and wait for that as well while our food cooled down I have to mention that all staff members we interacted with were nice, kind, considerate. However, this surprisingly did not convert into good service. We frequent a lot of other restaurants in the riv, and some in Hermosa/Manhattan - and we do try this place at least once a year, but it always just feels we aren't quite taken care of, and that we have to be proactive in order to get what we need to round out the service here. Hope things improve, see you sometime early 2027 probably.
