Wow! What a cute place & hidden gem! We joined the waitlist & waited around for about 20 mins for a table. It's smaller, but intimate inside (speakeasy feel). The service was amazing - you can tell the servers are passionate about what they do and very educated on their drinks. The drinks were amazing/ full of flavor/ presented nicely. The vibes were great as it was dim, nice tunes, and perfect environment for catching up with friends! I really enjoyed my time here! Food & drink: My husband ordered the Espresso Tonic & it was perfection. The foam was the ideal consistency so each sip had both foam & drink, never overpowering or messy. I tried the Angel Face, which was a bit more spirit-forward than I usually go for, but still balanced & beautifully made. My bestie and I have been trying out Speakeasy everywhere. So we stumbled across P10Neer on the reviews, so we thought we would try it. It's located inside the Dick's Chicken, which through us and the other people who were checking in off. But goes with the whole "hidden speakeasy" vibe. The place is tiny, unassuming, and very minimalist vibe. Unlike the other speakeasy's we have been too that have been over the top with decor. This place is very simple. Quaint and holds about 30 or less. We were greeted by Alex and serviced by Patrick as well. Really nice, caring and educational. They both were on top of things! Alex was right on point with the drinks! Nothing commercial about their drinks! We had the Blue Lagoon, Bee Hive, G&T! All were fabulous. We complimented these drinks with their nuts, bread and mussels in the tin. This place is definitely a place to enjoys some cocktails and hang with some friends who enjoys drinks. Had the most amazing experience at P10neer! A hidden gem tucked into the back of a restaurant, you'll second guess yourself if you're in the right place when you arrive; but once you find the entrance, you'll be immersed into one of the coolest little speak easies in the area. Small and intimate but bursting with flavor, the space is catered to about six parties at a time (definitely need a reservation). Our group tried every cocktail and were completely impressed by each of their original conceptions and flavors. Alex and Adam took exceptional care of us, truly making us feel like we were regulars. One of the best cocktail bars I have ever been to. My favorite craft cocktail bars used to be in Boston (Drink and Hawthorne) but both have shuddered due to COVID. This place doesn't do the personalized cocktail service one is usually accustomed to in craft cocktail bars, but it still tops my list of best cocktails bars. If you must have your favorite cocktail on demand, head to Blind Rabbit, but if you are looking for a top notch cocktail and are open to choosing from a set menu, P10NEER is a MUST TRY! I had the MILK PUNCH on their fall menu and my husband had the OLD FASHION and it was the best Old Fashion I have ever had, it was very smooth and orangey. This is a great date spot or after work and late night spot to meet up with friends. It can be hard to find or confusing because, in true speakeasy fashion, it is hidden (inside of a diner). read more

Made a quick stop here last night before our dinner reservation nearby, and we were pleasantly surprised! This is a cute little speakeasy bar in the back of Dick Church's. We got there right around when it opened, so there was no wait, but you can use yelp to get on the waitlist ahead of time. They can only fit about 20 people at a time. The menu is set and it includes all house made syrups and spirits! They take traditional drinks, like an old fashioned of gin fizz and out their own unique spin on it, based on what is on season. The menu is seasonal and changes every couple of months or so. My sister got the gimlet which had lilikoi and lychee, and I got the Southside fizz, which was very refreshing and delicious! The service was great. They were both very knowledgeable and helped us decide was to drink based on what type of cocktail we were looking for. I definitely want to go back to try more! read more

I saw reviews saying the cocktails here were batched, and it immediately made of the UK bar "A Bar With Shapes For a Name" ("ABWSFAN") in London. I'm not the biggest fan of batch cocktails, I like the art that goes into mixology, but I was surprised at how well run this production bar is. For starters, there aren't many full batch production bars in the OC. I may be mistaken, but I think this might be one of the first for the area. P10NEER is a bit different from ABWSFAN in the sense that even though all the ingredients are batched produced, they still mix and measure everything in front of you. At ABWSFAN everything is batched and bottled, so when you order something they pull the bottle out of the fridge and pour it for you with some amazing glass and fun purified or artistic ice. The good thing about batch production is it gives you a high consistent baseline for your cocktail; the downside is you are strictly limited to the menu and can't go a la carte. That is the one downside of P10NEER, you are strictly adherent to the menu provided. Talking to the bartenders here it seems like they do change the menu every month or so, but if you wanted something off menu that's not an option. Luckily the good thing is everything at P10NEER's menu is amazing. The bar is high for every cocktail and from the flavors you can tell alot of time and thought went into the batch of each ingredient used. If you're looking for a place to either start your cocktail journey or want a place after work to go with co-workers to have drinks at a place that is delivering super consistent levels of cocktails, come here. Its a great addition to the area, though albeit in a very odd spot. This is located right in the middle of an old diner and I feel like this spot is being sub-leased by the operators of the diner. If you're in the area definitely add this place to your list. Its a pretty unique experience for the OC area and I can't wait to go back and try future iterations of their well crafted menu. read more

I had an emergency come up and there's no number provided to call to cancel. I was about an hour outside of the 24 hour cancellation window but it says you need to call the restaurant. It's not a huge deal to lose $20 but considering not only can I not go, I did not receive a message back to the note I sent but I can see that someone read it. Had I been able to cancel or least had gotten a notice of receipt of my note I would have happily gone in to patronize another time. read more

P10NEER is an intimate cocktail bar behind the Dick Church's in Costa Mesa. It's not a big bar so they do not have reservations but you can put your name on the waitlist. Their drinks selection is not big but they are spin-offs of a variety of different classic cocktails. My first drink was the rob boy ($15) which was smokey from the added peat. My second drink was the negroni ($15) which had more orange flavors than a typical negroni. They frequently rotate their menu so their drinks might be completely different when you come back. We were fully in nerd modes trying to place where each flavor was coming from, how it was infused, what balanced out what. 3) The fact that there is a drink that has Brennevin in it melted our hearts. Not a great experience on this occasion. We came in after hearing good things. Perhaps on a different night, with different staff, and a different menu it would have been a better experience. Firstly, once we went in, it was so ridiculously cold in there, that that was literally the first thing I told our server / bartender, who assured us he was going to turn the air conditioner off. (It's January, no one needs an air conditioner pumping out 40° air at its patrons unless u hate them) The Fall drink menu was terrible. Supposedly it's about the end of that menu, but I wish I missed it completely. We didn't enjoy either of the drinks we had. Their previous menus featured drinks like a Whiskey Sour, Ramos Gin Fizz, and a New York Sour. All drinks that I would have enjoyed. Very hip speakeasy! It's a bit confusing to get in. Make sure to sign up on the tablet for the Yelp waitlist and wait for someone to call you in. I saw many folks walk through the swinging doors only to be told to wait outside. The cocktail drinkmakers are very knowledgeable. The cocktails are very intriguing and unique. I wanted to like this place but it just didn't do it for us. The drinks were carefully curated and created uniquely but honestly just weren't that good. I'm usually open to trying new things and the twists on the drinks were interesting, but just not very tasty. In addition to that, it's such a small space that you can hear almost everyone's conversations if they have loud voices. And despite it being a small space with not a ton of customers to attend to, we still ended the night feeling neglected. Had a good 30-40 minutes in between drinks and getting water refilled. Casual enough to hang out with friends but I honestly feel it's suitable for a date as well. Service was excellent. Gin fizz drink is a great finisher light and fizzy and awakening.
