Seeing Hearts with this delicious pulled pork sandwich
    Jolene L.

Supporting Black Owned Businesses, thanks to the Yelp Collection. We were out for a scenic drive and came across this establishment. You'll pass through vineyards, orchards, and a handful of gorgeous estates. You can't miss the big sign and open parking. While they have an extensive beverage menu, it was much too cold to be sitting outside. Even with the sun, 52 degrees is not our idea of comfortable LOL. We ordered our food to go and boy was it delicious! Mac n Cheese was loaded with great taste. The fresh noodles in creamy sauce was seasoned with smokey bacon. It wasn't too heavy and thankfully it wasn't dried out. Also nicely balanced with a healthy salad :) Pulled pork sandwich was perfect too. Nice grilled crunch on the bread. Tangy and tender pork with just the right amount of bbq sauce. Wasn't greasy. Wasn't salty. Also balanced with a healthy salad. Thank you again for the delicious comfort food. We enjoyed your food and the scenic drive to you!

4 pack craft beers, shrimp cocktail from the pop-up vendor and live music.

Our favorite place to come unwind any day of the week. They start early and close by 8pm usually. They offer different beers and ciders on tap. Some wine, cocktails, and moonshine is available as well. We also like checking out the craft beers they have stocked in their fridge and offer a pretty good deal on those when buying a 4 pack which you can enjoy onsite as well. Staff here is always friendly and welcoming. They occasionally feature small businesses to pop up and serve their food. And have different types of music and entertainment throughout the week. Definitely worth checking out their social media for updates. This has become a favorite gem my husband and I love to visit and support.

Pioneer Tap Room is such a fun place to visit with friends! Plenty of seating, wide selection of beer (both on tap and canned) and other drinking options if beer isn't for you. They had live music on the day I went - they sounded great!

    Excellent carnitas sandwich and salad

Wanted to give this place a shout out. My mother and I wanted to try a restaurant that neither of us have gone too. We live locally so it was a bit of a challenge. We had not been to the Pioneer Tap Room since neither of us are beer drinkers and we don't ride motorcycles. But the food reviews were so good. We had to give it a try. It's an eclectic place when you walk in and we were greeted promptly and friendly by the owner. When we asked for something non alcoholic the items were limited and I started to get concerned I had made a mistake. But they were so friendly and we were already there so why not? We ordered the Greek salad and carnitas sandwich. I am so glad we stayed. The food was excellent. Probably the best carnitas I have ever had!! We sat outside and throughly enjoyed great food and a fun atmosphere. Go check them out!!

Pioneer Tap Room is simply, " Amazing!" I found this place maybe 2-3 months ago.....and every since I have been returning - going with a friend and meeting friends there. The owner, Tony and his wife Tiffany along with Jennifer and Degz - and also Fred - in the kitchen. Every time I go back, it feels like the bar in Boston, " Cheers," everyone knows your name! The food, the beer, the wine, are all awesome ! This place is quaint, the building it's self, has a long history, the ambience, a little rustic, very laid-back, just a all-around a good place to relax, eat, drink, and be merry! They also have bands periodically, which are awesome! If you're in the neighborhood, this is a must, check it out!

    CiderHawk on tap, good stuff!

Super personable, great energy, and made the whole experience feel effortless. I ordered the peanut butter and jelly burger--smash-style patty with bacon, peanut butter, jelly, Tabasco, and pickles--and wow... one of the most unique and satisfying burgers I've had in a long time. It hits that perfect balance of savory, sweet, and nostalgic. I asked Paul what he would pair with it, and he absolutely nailed it. He introduced me to "Chimp My Ride" from Solano Brewing Company, a rich stout with chocolate and peanut butter notes that complemented the burger perfectly. It honestly brought back that childhood lunchbox feeling in the best way possible. On top of that, Chef Jamie personally brought out the food and took the time to connect--great conversation, great presence, and you can tell there's real pride behind what they're doing here. Within minutes, I knew I'd found exactly where I wanted to spend a hot summer afternoon. The atmosphere strikes the perfect balance between neighborhood tavern and craft beer destination. Vintage bicycles hang overhead, dozens of rotating taps line the wall, and the energy is lively without ever feeling chaotic. Whether you're catching the match, meeting friends after work, or simply escaping the summer heat, Rustwater has that welcoming vibe that makes you want to stay for another round. Following the bartender's recommendation, I ordered the Chicken Ciabatta from the specials board with a side of crispy tater tots, and it was absolutely the right call. The sandwich arrived beautifully presented on a perfectly toasted ciabatta roll with just the right amount of crunch. Inside was juicy grilled chicken layered with smoky bacon, melted provolone, crisp lettuce, ripe tomato, and a flavorful pesto mayo that brought everything together without overpowering the fresh ingredients. Every bite delivered a wonderful combination of textures and balanced flavors. The tater tots were exactly what great tavern food should be, golden, crisp, and light on the outside with a fluffy interior. They became downright addictive when dipped into a combination of ketchup and a Ghost Hot Sauce that once they are out they are out adding a slow-building kick that complemented the crispy potatoes perfectly. As I enjoyed a cold pint from their outstanding rotating tap list, Spain put the finishing touches on a 2-0 victory over France, sending them to the World Cup Final. Great soccer, an exceptional craft beer, and a fantastic lunch, it doesn't get much better than that on a scorching summer afternoon. Rustwater has earned its reputation over the years, and it's easy to understand why. Friendly service, an outstanding craft beer program, elevated tavern food, and an atmosphere that invites you to linger long after the final whistle. If you're looking for one of downtown Fairfield's best spots to enjoy creative tavern fare, explore an ever-changing lineup of craft beers, and catch the big game, Rustwater Kitchen & Taproom deserves a place on your list. I'll definitely be back to see what's on tap next, and without question, those crispy tater tots will be making another appearance on my table with the ghost hot sauce, if still available, due to the company going out of business.
