This place is amazing! I can not say enough good things about this place. We had lost our slip and had no where to stay... they took us in and found a spot for our boat and trailer. They didn't blink, or ask a lot of questions... basically asked "what do you need?" Then provided it! Not to mention the best cheese burger we've ever eaten. Then there is the breakfast sandwich... amazing. Dean and the entire staff are amazing. The staff at pirates cove makes no effort to make you feel comfortable at the bar. The food and drinks are decent, but the staff is unbelievably rude. They snapped a legitimate drivers license because "that's how you tell if it is fake or not". When asked to remedy the issue, they made no effort to replace my friends property. If you want to be insulted for being a college student on spring break, this is the place to go. I've been a long time fan of this place, and it was once great. Now it is a tourist trap that has no regard for maintaining a reputation as a respectable establishment. read more

By far, this is the scuzziest bar I have ever eaten at, but I adore it. Between the dogs laying on the deck, the dolphin playing in the cove and my boat beached (intentionally), I can't think of anywhere I would rather be. I think this is about right. A group of 12 of us headed here Friday for a bachelorette party. Perfect day drinking spot! We spent a few hours drinking ah-mazing buschwackers (have one) and eating hamburgers. Look, this hamburger is not fancy, greasy (not too greasy) even, but oh so perfect for what we needed. The menu isn't extensive. Hamburgers, fries, onion rings, looks like they had some specialty pizzas on the menu as well. The bartender was a friendly fellow, easy to conversate with and busted his behind trying to get to everyone in a timely manner. Yeah, there were random dogs running about. But, they were there first, who I am to say they don't belong. I am a dog lover, so didn't bother me. However, if you have a fear of man's best friend...perhaps Pirates Cove isn't for you. It's an open bar on the Bay, easily accessible by boat. To be honest, it's kind of a shack, but a shack with character! I get the allure of this local joint. This is a fun little place that has been around forever. It is easier to get there by boat, but the drive is pretty. The food is a bit hit-or-miss. Usually I have found lunch/brunch serves the best food. For me personally the only way I like this place is coming in my boat to have a toddy and hang with friends. Ok--- EVERYTHING they say is true! Wings so perfectly spicy! Pizza "Karl" was soooo good. Crust crunchy and delicious. The building looks like it could fall over-- but they do wonders in that kitchen! Drive to the "end" of 95 or float in by boat... and while you wait for your meal take a dip in the calm bay water! This bar should not be in business. They took my 45 year old mom's real ID as well as my real ID and refused to look at second forms of ID. Food was overall underwhelming, staff was rude. Would not recommend anyone stepping foot in that place. The bar also smelled like someone threw up in it and the bathrooms were disgusting. As I was walking away, the bartender made a comment about how I looked too skinny, even though I'm an anorexic. I've never felt more disgusted by a place or staff in my life. I've been coming here for years with a friend who grew up and graduated ion Foley. It's the epitome of a dive bar. The drive is a bit out of the way but in my opinion well worth it for the bushwhackers and burgers. The best way to get here would be via boat and hangout. Saturday and Sundays are the best with music. Love the place for the vibe and memories and look forward to coming here whenever we come down for vacation. Don't expect fast service but the food mixed with atmosphere makes it an awesome adventure. Be aware there are many dogs that hangout especially the big Mastiff. Traveled with friends by boat and I must admit I've got to figure out how to get there by land since I don't own a boat! We only had drinks but I purchased the tumbler that supported Hope 4 Autism which I adore and use it frequently. Had a few bushwhackers loved the atmosphere. Although I need plenty of families with small kids I wouldn't personally bring my kids as I seen ladies in thong bathing suits and people that clearly had way to much to drink. We have been coming to PC for years. It is usually crowded and hard to find a spot to park your boat but we deal with that because the Bushwackers and food are pretty good. Well after yesterday even that is not worth fighting the crowd. A melted Bushwacker that you have to stand in line forever and try to find a boat spot is not worth it. I don't know what is going on with PC and we have been there since Covid started but it was horrible! Will not be going back this summer. Maybe they will get it figured out by next summer. You can go right across the bay to OSO and get a great bushwacker and food without all of the hassle. read more

This is my favorite beach spot. Only place on the Gulf Coast to get a GREAT cheeseburger, the best Bush whacker, take the kids and dogs while enjoying the sand, water and often live music. This place ROCKS!!! I've been going for 14 years. It used to only be locals but the word has spread and now the tourists show up too in the summer. That's good for the owners. I liked it a bit better when it was more local but I still love it as is and is still my favorite. Also, no traffic to fight to get to it like Gulf Shores.
