Came here for Father's Day. It was a good time. The show is a bit cheesy, but you get entertainment and dinner at the same time. Things could have been better in regards to the service. They really never checked on us and took what seemed like really long time to get anything to us. It's probably not easy to serve that many people in such a short amount of time. The show itself has a plot which was kinda meh, but the acrobatics and aerial silk performance was pretty impressive. The show kept my 2 yr old toddler entertained and she was on the edge of my lap watching the whole show. Food was okay, but you come here for the show. Advisory for parents with young children- This pirate show has extremely loud audio, flashing lights, and occasional sudden fake gun shots. My ears were hurting the whole time! Not appropriate for adults and children with sensory sensitivity, adhd, and those who are neurodivergent. My 7 yo son got so scared and overwhelmed by the unnecessary loud bangs and audio. DON'T WASTE YIUR TOME AND MONEY!!! I have yet to call the location that I will. I have attended the medieval times. Dinner show on several occasions and it is always been a great experience. Great Show good food. Good drinks overall a very fun time. This year we decided to do the pirate dinner show for Father's Day. Did the all the upgrades. It's 79 almost $80 a person to tend to show. With your choice of Mail roasted chicken, a penne, pasta, or a nuggets with mac & cheese. You have options of upgrades as add-ons for an additional cost of salmon for $19.95 Lobster for $19.95 and beef tenderloin for $21.95. It was also an additional $35 for the special dad's pirate bundle which included a 12 ounce plastic cup of beer of choice, some chicken wings, a flag flag a little strip material that had a pirate symbol on it as a bandanna or whatever and a message in a bottle that said happy Father's Day. I upgraded each of the dad's with the beef tenderloin and the lobster and the Father's Day package which came out to about $78 each. And it was an additional cost for appetizers. The show itself was entertaining, some stunts, a little acting, and singing. They also got the audience engaged in certain competitions, which was fun, and we got chosen to participate in the treasure hunt, which is probably the highlight of our experience. The main actress who plays the the role of the captain wife was so annoying. I had to tune out. She was just overdramatic. She over sing her runs on her songs. It was just so unnecessary. For people who don't know music very well or don't understand. The theatrical music performances and how it works won't understand what I'm talking about. Although she did have a good voice. Her over singing the runs. It was just ridiculous and annoying. It just took me away from what the show is about. was just trying too hard. She just felt like she was trying too hard. With that being sad. The food probably was the nail in the coffin I paid close to $79 per person for the dad's to do the add-ons. Paid $300 for the tickets and we were a party of six thank God I was able to get the tickets on Groupon so I did not pay the $79. I paid $56 a ticket. The food was horrible. Not edible across the board not one of us finished our food barely touching it. Everyone else, except for the dad had the pasta, and roasted chicken. The 2 of the dad's had the Beef tenderloin, and the lobster at an additional cost. No one completed the pasta whatsoever. They took a couple bites and left it on a plate. I took a few bites of the roasted chicken. It was so rubbery. It was old chicken. And I did not eat it at all. My husband's beef tenderloin was so tough that couldn't even cut it with the knife that they provided because they did not even provide a steak knife, only a butter knife for what I don't know because we did not have any bread whatsoever served with butter. He did not eat that he did however eat the lobster and said it was just OK. If I did not order mozzarella sticks, onion rings, and calamari as appetizers, we probably would not have ate at all. Overall, I spent $650. For what was supposed to be a great experience that was lacking in so many ways. I could've probably overlooked the lack of entertainment of the show. But the terrible food and when I say terrible food, I really mean terrible food was the dealbreaker. The nail in the coffin. The aftermath of a storm it was just horrible. I would say save your money or pay the extra money to go next-door to medieval times. Better yet go to Mrs. Knotts down the street have to spend a little time at Knotts Berry Farm and have dinner at Mrs. Knotts. I have been curious about Pirates Dinner Adventure for quite some time. Given its close proximity to a large theme park and another live entertainment, family friendly location, I feel like it's in great spot to attract tourists. With that being said, I had an opportunity to attend a show during a school field trip. Pirates Dinner Adventure is located in the city of Buena Park. It's adjacent to the freeway, just off of the Beach Blvd exit. The parking lot is small, but I think that there was a parking structure in the back. When you walk inside, there is a large gift shop that has a lot of pirate-related items. The restrooms are also located inside of the gift shop. They are small, so it might be best to use it during the show to avoid long lines. The theater is small, when compared to Medieval Times that is a couple of doors down from here. There is a large pirate ship in the center of the room that is surrounded by a small area of water. Each performer represents a color that it associated with specific sections of the room. If that's your pirate, you will be cheering for them. The show itself is full of theatrics, complete with aerial dancers. They have a storyline that they follow and the audience is fully engaged. There is some audience participation throughout the show. Children get to ride in a small boat around the perimeter of pirate ship. Audience members carry "treasure chests" on their heads to keep the energy going. Finally, they have a few kids dress up in pirate gear poised to take action if the pirates don't cooperate. My students loved it! Food is served throughout the show. My students had chicken nuggets with mac n cheese. We drank lemonade and had chocolate cake for dessert. The adults were served a large piece of chicken with vegetables. I didn't eat much, due to dietary restrictions, but the kids ate all of their food. Pirates Dinner Adventure is perfect for the children. I work at an inner city school and this is something that many of our students don't get to experience. From their perspective, I can see how this would be a hit! They loved it, and that's what matters to me. Pirates Dinner Adventure Buena Park, CA Date went 5/30/26 Showtime chosen 7:30pm - full house every section looked filled, parking wasn't an issue Size of party 13 From a kids perspective (5 kids from our party) Our kiddos that attended were age range from 3 years old to 12 years old, and all of them loved the show. Some of them even got pulled from the audience to be a part of the show and go on the boat. They were laughing, captivated, and said that they had a goodnight. The pirate crew did a great job at keeping the entire audience engaged by utilizing "teams" and "games" to get everyone involved. From an adult perspective (7 adults from out party) There were some adult themes that were appropriately conveyed (drunkenness and love). For those who drink, there's a bar area before the theater area. However, one member of our party made a comment that the show felt a little "Vegas-y" with the acrobatics portion of the show. I think for an almost 2 hour show that the pirate crew did a great job keeping high energy and were very physical considering the amount of stunts they did for the show. I say big big kudos to them (as someone who appreciates the amount of effort it takes to do theater and acting in front of a live audience (as a former theater student)). We also purchased the food package, that came with appetizers, dinner, brownies, and a cake for the birthday kiddo in our party. The food was okay, I don't blame them though considering the amount of people they have to feed in such a short amount of time. Some recommendations and things that stood out: - The first thing I noticed was that despite the dishes being washed I was able to see residue on my utensils and plate ****** - The staff were really friendly and I didn't see a single low energy staff, our waiter (didn't catch her name) was really really awesome and sweet - The bathrooms were clean - I'd recommend to add adult and kids joke to the show ****** - I feel like there's a good chance that at least one kid from each section will get picked to come up on stage - They did a shoutout for birthdays Im rating a 4/5 and not a 3/5 because the show is more geared towards children and our children had a great time. The staff were really funny. The pirate crew was very energetic. Parking wasn't an issue. Establishment appeared clean. The show was designed to keep audience engaged. Honestly, so so fun! From beginning to end. When I drove in to find parking, the ladies helping to direct traffic were in character, and at that point I knew that this entire experience was going to be very legit. I went here with a group of friends to celebrate one of our birthdays. We all dressed up in pirate attire and I think that helped enhance the experience haha. The food they served was pretty good! I honestly did not have too many expectations, but they exceeded it. They start off with a normal salad that comes with ranch sauce. That was fine, nothing too special. For the main course, they give a rotisserie chicken drumstick and thigh. It was seasoned just right - not too salty, and not too bland. The chicken tasted fresh and had no strange after taste. The meat was fall off the bone tender. It also comes with some roasted veggies and potato slices, all of which were also seasoned nicely. They offer chocolate cake for dessert and it was good. I was tempted to order some cocktails, but ultimately did not this time around. Would love to try a cocktail or two the next time im here though! The show itself was lighthearted and fun and all the actors did such a great job. My friends were pulled into the show at some point to carry some treasure chests up the ship and that was just so fun. At the end of the show, I managed to snag a picture with the yellow pirate! A very fun 90 minute dinner and show. Came for the last show at 8pm to celebrate two birthdays with my group. They were nice and brought some ice cream cake for the special occasion and candles. We upgraded to the beef tenderloin dinner which was good and not hard to cut. Had the appetizers and the mozzarella sticks are worth adding. A show about pirates mermaids and a princess. Lots of amazing stunts and a decent story to follow. Definitely worth checking out if you haven't done it before. First time doing the pirates dinner show and would come back in the future for another celebration of some sort. The setting is an 18th-century Spanish galleon with a large indoor lagoon. The show is highly interactive- allowing audience participation. Great experience for kids! Tix include a (4) course meal. We came here to celebrate my wife's grandmas 80th birthday and we have been wanting to try it out after going to medieval times before we thought this would be a nice change of pace. I'll start off by saying this , the price for what you get is actually pretty reasonable and it's about a 2 hour dinner and show. The food actually really surprised all of us with taste and quality, they have many different options which already is a plus over medieval times. We all got the chicken and my wife got the vegetarian pasta option. Everything we had was perfectly cooked and the seasoning and taste were actually really good. The dessert was fudge chocolate cake that was good too. The service was excellent our server made sure our cups were full at all times and checked in with us many times through out the show. The show and ambiance were good , I wouldn't say broadway quality but decent community theater. The actors could dance and sing pretty good and the stunts were decent. The only note I had was being ear plugs or ear muffs if you're sensitive to loud noises .they use pyrotechnics to simulate gun fire and the audio mixer needs work the microphones were unnecessary loud or just placed in the wrong spot on the performer. I would definitely recommend trying it out at least once or twice just to have a fun little family night out . I will definitely come back once or twice to see if they show changes at all. *Also note that if you sit in the blue or green section parts of the show might be difficult to see cause of the set pieces blocking. read more

Celebrated my 30th birthday and my best friend's birthday at Pirates Dinner Adventure and it was honestly such a fun, unforgettable experience. We were seated in the Yellow section, and our pirate was hands down the BEST. The energy, interaction, and crowd engagement made it feel so personal and exciting the entire time. We had a large group of 12, and everything was handled so smoothly. Our server was AMAZING and so accommodating. They constantly checked in on us, made sure we had everything we needed, and went above and beyond the entire night. They even surprised us with a little birthday cake and candle and sang for us, which made the celebration feel extra special and memorable. From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere is fully immersive and perfect for a birthday celebration. The show itself is incredibly entertaining with acrobatics, stunts, and a storyline that keeps you locked in. Our pirate really made it special by hyping us up and making our section feel like part of the action. The drinks were AMAZING and absolutely delicious, and the gift shop was such a fun touch with so many cute themed items. The dinner itself was also really good, which made the whole experience even better. Service was outstanding from start to finish. Took my kids here for a dinner and a show .. the place is amazing! Theme was a giant pirate ship! It was so fun to look at as we sat around the whole giant half a ship. The service was amazing! Our server was very attentive. Sodas were constantly refilled. The meal came with a salad with ranch dressing .. that was just ok.. nothing special. The dinner dish came with a quarter leg rotisserie chicken some mash potatoes and veggies . The mash was good, the chicken was just ok, and the veggies were actually the best on the plate. I had never heard of Pirates Dinner Adventure until a friend recommended it to me. I loved Medieval Times, and my friend recommended we give Pirates Dinner Adventure a try if we love Medieval Times. We ended up going for the birthdays of two of our friends. There were quite a few parking spaces on a week day, which was nice. After a short wait, we were able to get in. We got our photos taken right inside the entrance. So I ordered birthday packages for my two friends, they each also got a photo. There was a bar right in front of the entrance, but we ended up deciding to order drinks during the show. Unfortunately, there was only one bartender serving the entire show, and he did not have the drink menu. So we had to wait quite a while to order drinks during the show. The food was ok. The salad was quite plain. The chicken was a bit dry, but the serving was generous and came some potatoes and vegetables. There was also a dessert brownie at the end but the brownie was quite sweet. The show was solid. A combination of acrobatics, combat, guns, and some mini games involving the audience. The plot was a bit complicated, but overall a fun entertainment for the show. read more

My kids loved the knights show at Excalibur in Vegas and Medieval Times is too similar so we decided to take them to the Pirates Dinner Adventure. The timing was really good since we just finished watching One-Piece. Overall rating is based on how much our kids enjoyed this and will remember it well into their older years. You are seated based on color where you will cheer for your pirate and boo the other pirates. The show is more interactive than some of the other ones I've been to with a lot of audience participation on stage. My oldest got chosen for a boat rowing race and I went up there to hoist some flags near the end. My kids LOVED the show, and didn't want to leave to go to the bathroom to not miss anything. It's a good mix of comedy, acrobatics, stunts, and effects. They will also conveniently bring the photos you take in the beginning right to your table so you dont have to wait at the gift shop if they line is too long. Adults got salad, chicken, and a dessert. Kids got cheeseburger and chicken nuggets. The food was OK but we didn't come for the good and more for the experience. Wanted to come here at least once and glad we did for some nice family friendly fun! Came here for a celebration and had lots of fun. We showed up very early at 7pm which gave us time to peruse the gift shop and bar area. We also paid extra to keep the cute souvenir glasses. Show started promptly at 8 and depsite it being a Friday night, our section remained fairly empty which gave us more opportunity to be involved in the show - LOL! We sat front row and there was a lot of guest interactions. It's a very interactive show enjoyably and unexpectedly so be warned if you're seated in the 1st row. I was balancing eating and participating lol. Food is good - protein gains and seasoned veggies, can't go wrong with that. If you want sauce, they have it! Staff: Everyone here was nice. What I loved is there are a lot of employees so if you need anything it is easy to find help. Often times it is the opposite. Quality/Quantity: The gift shop is great with a lot of options. The food is okay, not great. You're served salad, chicken, mashed potatoes, vegetables, and then chocolate cake. It is not the most flavorful or delicious but it is okay. The show is amazing. Value: A little pricey but worth it. The main thing that should be reconsidered is charging the customer for the flag of their pirate. That should be included in the price, not an extra $10 for each guest. Love the show and the feel of the shipboard scene! The pirates are fun and the singing and cirque are very well done. I am very entertained by this show. We had excellent service this time around! A very super person and attentive server. I wish I had this person every time I visit. The food has changed a bit. I'm glad they got rid of the sauce they had Olin chicken and vegetables. I like the potatoes and chicken but they need to add a gravy. Even if it's only on the side. This would definitely elevate the meal. Maybe they can upscale the meal more. Great show! Such a cool concept. I have been to medieval times so had an idea of what to expect but honestly it was better than I anticipated. The venue is smaller but makes for every seat being a good seat! The food was decent. I feel like the chicken could have used more seasoning but the sides were on point! The service is good however a little hectic as there is SO MICH STAFF! Didn't really know who my server was when I wanted to ask for something. It's extremely hard to review Pirates without mentioning Medieval Times as they're both dinner theaters and are both on the same street, with only a Porto's separating both properties - but I'll try my best to keep the comparisons to a minimum. Since my wife and I have enjoyed Medieval Times a fair amount of times before, we thought we would finally give Pirates a shot. We even opted for their "Vampirates" Halloween show during spooky season (which runs Mon, Thurs & Sun at 6:30PM between 09/12/25 - 11/11/25). There's online booking for tickets (which is a breeze) or you can try your luck and pay at the box office in-person before the show. General tickets are about $70 per person (before tax), and you can upgrade to preferred/treasure seating for +$25 or upgrade to VIP for +$37. Both upgrades come with a souvenir pirate bandana, beaded necklace, and free photobook (your party immediately takes a group photo upon arrival). VIP also offers 15% off of gift shop purchases and seats you closer to the stage. We went all out and sprung for the VIP. Show up early for a good parking spot and so you can enjoy the grounds. The gift shop/merch has lots of jewelry, clothing, mugs, etc. and there's a bar if you want to get your drink on. I don't know how dark it normally is for Pirates or if it was just mood lighting for Vampirates, but watch your step upon entering the main arena - lots of steps and little ones around! VIP section is the first two ground-level rows of seats circling the main stage. For food, by default they serve soup or salad, a roasted chicken entree with vegetables and chocolate cake for dessert. Upon buying tickets, you do have the option to switch to gluten-free chicken or choose a vegetarian entree (butternut quash ravioli) - both are free of charge. Default children entrees are sliders with mashed potatoes and mac & cheese. For free of charge they also offer children the gluten-free chicken, the vegetarian entree, or a vegan entree (vegan black bean and corn patty with vegetables). If you want anything else, prepare to pay! Add-ons include appetizers (wings, calamari rings, mozzarella sticks, onion rings, fries), entree upgrades (salmon, turkey leg, lobster tail, shrimp skewer), and dessert upgrades (toffee cake, lava cake with ice cream, cotton candy swirl cheesecake with ice cream). That's all without mentioning the bar drinks! For dinner theaters, the show can be hit or miss but the Vampirates show was cheesy fun! Lots of sword fights, aerial acrobatics, singing, romance, and of course vampire pirates! They also have audience participation, with the performers picking out people before the show to help throw things for games/races. There's a mini-boat race around the main ship - I don't know how deep the water is, but the kids from the audience got life jackets just in case (though they were never in any danger). Speaking of which, with all the pyrotechnics and stunts during the show, everything was in a contained safe environment. Shout out to all the hard workers/performers! Some negatives for us - the tomato soup was terrible (basically water with red dye), so we wanted to order an appetizer but our server completely ditched us after seating us. We had to ask another server to help us out. The sound/mics were spotty/off in parts so who knows what was being said during those times. Depending on where you're seated, you might get an obstructed view. If you're seated in the first row of the VIP section, you definitely are in danger of getting wet since they fire water canons a few times. Overall we had lots of fun with Pirates and wouldn't mind coming back for their themed shows. It's a bit of a downgrade compared to Medieval Times, but the show makes up for it with it's own charm and stunts. The performers really earn their paycheck and were all pretty awesome. I had my sister's bachelorette party here. I forgot my sister was having a surprise wedding so it made sense why it was just the two of us. I forgot to tell them to announce her wedding and future baby. We got there kinda too close to show time so I completely forgot. I was just super excited. It was a quiet weekday showing. I thought they were going to have vampirates, but that's only on the weekends. Hopefully we can still catch it this year or we'll have to wait until next year. We took some pictures, and then went to the gift shop. We went back to the bar to get some drinks. They give you souvenir cups! If you bring them back you can just pay the refill price. We got the standard meals. You have to order the other meals in advance. You can still order appetizers and upgrade your dessert. We added on Kraken Bites (Calamari), Peg Leg Dippers (Cheese Stix), and Skull Rock Lava Cake. My sister and I enjoyed the calamari because they were in fish stick form. The lava cake was so good! I'm definitely adding it on again next time. I didn't really like the tomato soup. The texture was just off to me. My chicken meal was pretty good! All the actors were so good and fun! Our pirate was a goofball. This is the second time I got Saxon. A different actor, but still a goofball. My friends and I went on a Wednesday so there were no issue with lines or it being crowded. The manager was kind enough to let us sit closer to the front without charging us for upgraded seating. We visited Pirates Dinner Adventure on a field trip with 41 students and 4 adults, and overall it was a great experience. They were very welcoming to our large group, and seating was smooth and well-organized. The service was impressive given our group size--staff stayed attentive and kept things moving efficiently. The show is the highlight--very entertaining, interactive, and engaging from start to finish. They involve the audience often, bringing both kids and adults into the action. The cast includes pirates, a mermaid, a princess, and a captain performing acrobatic and agility stunts that kept everyone fully engaged. We had the basic food package: a garden salad, chicken dinner for adults, and chicken nuggets with mac and cheese for students, plus a brownie for dessert and included soft drinks. The food is simple but good--definitely filling, but not the main attraction. There are also upgraded appetizers, entrées, and desserts available for an additional cost. At $43.95 for a show, drink, and three-course meal, it's a solid value. You'll leave full and entertained--just don't come expecting gourmet dining. Nice building, cool decor. Great stage space, decent site-lines from about every seat. Choreography was good even during the matinee show. The performers are wonderful, personable and engaging, they take time before and after the show for anyone interested in their time. Lots of audience participation throughout makes for an engaging time. Something is slightly amiss with the way the whole show is structured, I felt like it was close to being a serious contender for peoplea time and attention and I can't put my finger on it. Maybe its the way you have to walk through the gift shop to get in to the venue or to even use the restroom. Maybe it was being sold parking and then finding parking free during our matinee and not being offered a refund but actually being told by and employee that we would need our parking pass to leave. Maybe it was the upselling on photos; 40 bucks for a framed picture and i don't get a digital copy of the other photos I took seems like you just dislike your customers. Plus the manner in which they push pictures is kind of obtrusive. So you checkin and are immediately told to pose for photos with your group. Then, part-way into the show, someone completely disinterested in this thankless task is forced to interrupt you with a armload of photos and frames to ask which you would prefer. It's an obvious pressure play, much like entering through the gift shop, that's intended to put the parent in the position of saying No to their children. Of the bat we had hoped to go to the Halloween Vampirates show, which had been changed in the schedule. But despite that, the set is immediately exciting and fun to look at. The cast was all very talented performers and did a great job getting the audience to have fun. The seats are pretty packed in there since it's almost amphitheater seating so if you're worried about having room you might want to try and be closer to the stage for a little less seats per row. The food was good, but fairly plain slightly under seasoned , clearly not the main draw of the experience. The only complaint I had though for any of it was our dedicated pirate called out someone in our party who kindly asked to not be involved in the show due to being shy and they pestered a bit longer than I think any of our group was comfortable with. Just be warned if you sit close to a ladder or stage you might be asked to get involved and should be pretty firm if you don't want to! Overall a very fun experience to do at least once if it seems like your thing! read more

I went to Pirates Dinner Adventure and overall had a really fun and memorable time! For Halloween they had the Vampirates show and that's the one was long. There were a couple of hiccups in the beginning. When we arrived, the staff couldn't find our tickets even after we gave them our confirmation code. It wasn't until we showed them our gift cards that they were finally able to locate the reservation. We were a party of five, but when we were escorted to our seats, two people had moved into our spots and refused to leave. Thankfully, the staff and our server were very helpful and patient in resolving the situation and making sure we got the seats we paid for. Because of that mix-up, the table had to be cleaned again and they had run out of dinner cups, so two people in my family were given souvenir cups instead. Once everything was sorted out, the show started and it was absolutely worth it. Our server Angie was fantastic. Very friendly and made sure we were taken care of all night. The show itself was exciting, engaging, and super interactive, and we were all impressed with the performances and atmosphere. We had the calamari and shrimp appetizer. The calamari was good but the shrimp I would skip next time. We had the chicken dinner and it was very good. For dessert we had the chocolate lava cake and it was amazing. They gave us German chocolate cake because of our troubles which we didn't know or ask for. It was very sweet but two of us were allergic to coconut (the rest of the table enjoyed it though). We recently came to Pirates Dinner Adventure for the first time in many years an the experience overall was fun but the nostalgia for me had wore off a bit. I had bought tickets for the late show on a Saturday night and we arrived early. The parking was easy in the accompanying structure and getting inside with our tickets was smooth as can be. The staff here was very friendly overall and the amount of merch and stuff offered is quite nice as well. My wife and I opted for a chicken dinner and a vegetarian dinner and split them both. I found the food to be quite tasty for what it was and a decent portion overall. The meals were accompanied by a beverage as well. The show itself for me was lacking a bit and did not live up to what I had remembered years prior. Was it cheesy, yes but that was to be expected as well. The stunts were fine and maybe it was the Christmas overlay (I did not realize at the time of purchase) but the show lacked the flair a remembered. It was still fun and something I would recommend checking out but not something that would probably bring me back again. Overall, this was a fun night out for a relatively good evening but don't expect to go home overly impressed with the show itself. read more

Thanks to the Buena Park Library, we were able to get free kids tickets and discounted adult tickets. We went in a group of 7. We called to make the booking and the lady that attended me was very helpful and pleasant. She explained every detail to me. We spent $276.14 in total for our group. There was an opening event prior to the show starting but unfortunately were not able to attend. I ordered the wench drink at the bar that came with a light up skull souvenir cup that I paid $27 for (including tip). The kids raided the gift shop and got two light up pirate hats, a gun, a hook hand and a light up star wand for another $108.32. They also charge $8 for parking but between you and I, we could've gotten away without paying because there was no assigned parking or even a ticket to prove that we had paid or parked. The storyline was nice and exciting and my toddler was singing along. Our waiter (Arturo) was very attentive and quick despite serving so many people at once. He was really working hard. Don't forget to tip! We were given the choice of either tomato soup or salad. We went with the salad which was a standard bagged salad with ranch. I'm a simple person so I liked it. The kids meal was macaroni and cheese with nuggets similar to McDonald's nuggets. I got the roasted chicken, grilled veggies and mashed potatoes. The chicken was ok but needed some flavor. The sides were delicious though. I wish I had more veggies because they were fantastic. To finish off we had a sprinkled chocolate cake. In the end, I lined up to purchase the photo we had taken prior to the show. Unfortunately, they lost my photo and I couldn't buy it. They offered to retake my photo but I had already stood in line for fifteen minutes and didn't feel like taking another photo and waiting for it to be ready so I left without it. Overall it was a nice experience. Expensive, but it's a nice one time thing. read more

My family and I had an amazing time visiting the pirates dinner adventure with some friends who invited us to celebrate their child's birthday. It had been years since I last visited, but I was pleasantly surprised by how good the food was. The service was exceptional, and the show itself was absolutely awesome. We took my son and daughter-in-law to this dinner show, specifically for my 6 and 4 year old grandsons. Let's get the price out of the way ... it's expensive on the surface. But when you consider it typically costs $20 to $30 per person depending where we go, you actually paying $40 per person for a 90+ minute stage play. In my opinion, that is not unreasonable for a performance that involves some 20 performers. You have to decide that for yourself._ standing The food was actually better than expected. I say that having been to Medieval Times a half dozen times in my life, and I have taken to eating before we go the last two time because the food was prison quality (in our opinion). Our entire family found the food acceptable (Denny's / Hof's Hut level). And the servers kept our soft drinks full. The performance was not Broadway quality, I would measure it to be a college level / community playhouse performance. Those who danced could dance, those who sang could actually sing and the stunt work was tame but fun, impressed the grandsons. You have to realize they are putting on a performance where there are no wings for them to hide in, they are all on stage (the pirate ship) the entire performance. There is audience participation in your typical color teams support approach, and at one point they brought the kids up on the ship to be part of the show. My grandsons still talk about that to this day, and it's been a couple of months. It made their night. As I said, the show is a little more than 90 minutes. Which is perfect. My grandsons were starting to lose interest as it was ending, and frankly I found myself looking at my watch towards the end. Problems: There were times we could not understand the dialogue sometimes it was because it wasn't loud enough and other times they weren't succinct or their mic wasn't getting it done. My youngest (4 years old) was startled and scared by the gun shots. I wouldn't ask the to take those out because my oldest found it exciting. I am just alerting parents. Also, my oldest (just 6 years old, this was a birthday gift) was perfectly fine with the pirates fighting (fists and swords) but at one point the pirates capture the princess and start attacking her, and my grandson got really upset. We had to take him out and explain it was ALL make believe. Again there was nothing wrong on the performers behalf, I am just warning parents the little one see differently than we do. Whole heartedly recommend the show! You will have a greatly time if you go expecting a community play house level performance! read more

Very fun show with good food. But one visit may be enough. I got together a large group and booked us a month ahead of time. The price was a little expensive but you are getting dinner and a show. When we arrived we went to the bar and got drinks. The bartenders were very nice and pleasant. They informed me that bartenders walk around during the show if we wanted additional drinks. After enjoying the gift shop and bar area we were notified it was time to be seated. The seating area is pretty cramped (in areas), and difficult to get out of some areas if you need a restroom break. As we sat I found it difficult getting drinks from the bar area. I found myself having to leave to show to get drinks from the bar for my group. The show was great and engaging. The performers interact with the crowd regularly. Be prepared to be asked to join the show. This creates a very fun atmosphere. The show was a little campy but was very enjoyable. After the show we talked to our (yellow) pirate (who was very cool and personable) and took additional pictures. read more

Arrrrright let's get right to it. 5/5 show. You want mermaid aerialists and a live theater musical with hot pirate performers and the chance to cheer for your pirate boi? You get it. 3/5 food. I mean... entree was good--chicken and veg and potatoes. Don't get appetizers imo, unless you want the real reheated frozen Cisco food experience. Cake frosting was about as highly concentrated a sugar blast as you could possibly get. 5/5 vibes. Good for kids. Good for drinking with yer maties and birthdays. Good for interactivity if you're looking to participate in a show. Good for dressing up and getting into it (I wish I got the memo to dress up, but I got into it). Not good for boring people. This place is pretty cool. As for the show itself, I honestly didn't fully understand what was happening at any point. It's not particularly easy to follow, but it is pirate themed, so I imagine that's harder to set up. It's not like Medieval Times where you can just do a straightforward jousting tournament. If I were comparing Pirates to Medieval Times apples to apples, the setup at Pirates feels more disorganized. The food was pretty standard. Nothing really stood out. Solid but forgettable. I'd give the food a 3/5. The gift shop was actually pretty cool. I picked up a magnet. Overall, I'd probably come back again in a few years. read more

Food 3.5/5: The standard meal consists of a salad (the website said we had a choice but our server never offered us the soup option...) which was very wilted with watery ranch; a main course of chicken and roasted veggies with mashed potatoes, which were overall pretty decent; and German chocolate cake for dessert which was not bad either. Anything else is a significant upcharge on top of the hefty price you're already paying for your meal. You do get unlimited soft drinks with your meal. Service 3/5: Our server somehow always showed up at the worst possible time causing us to miss the most climactic moments of the show. Not entirely her fault since she's serving a large section, but definitely takes you out of the experience. The show itself was the holiday version and honestly I have no idea what I just watched lol. There was no real plot to the entire show and the dialogue felt a little like improv; very disjointed with some awkward pauses. The acrobatics, singing, and sword fights were all entertaining, which I'm guessing are a part of their normal show. I guess pirates and holiday joy just don't really go together all that well haha. Price $$$: We got a slight discount on our tickets for the holidays (which having seen the show, maybe that's why) which came with a free cheering flag and free parking. With the discount, not a terrible price for dinner and a show, but I don't know if I'd recommend coming for full price. read more

I hate to leave a bad review because I know the servers, staff and entertainers truly work hard but I feel like it's my civic duty to warn folks that this place is a hot mess. My work team (about 25 of us) went last night and had high hopes to be entertained but alas, we were dumbfounded, confused and altogether let down with the show and food. The actual show was a horrible compilation of random dialog between the pirates - there literally was no storyline or plot during the entire 1.5 hour show. I had no idea what was going on the w-h-o-l-e time. Dinner started with an iceberg salad with a squirt bottle of ranch squirted on by the hard working waiter. Then comes dry chicken, frozen vegetables, and instant mashed potatoes. It looked and tasted like food at a really bad retirement home. I wondered a lot of things while I was trying to make sense of this experience - how this place was still in business, whether the producers of this show really think there was a plot to the show, whether they just get a kick out of punking everyone in the audience, how I never knew dark meat could be so dry, how I've never wanted to leave anything so bad... I commend the staff here though for their dedication to keeping this place afloat. Perhaps I came on a unicorn day where nothing was right and I hope that is the case for anyone else who dares to pay their hard earned $50+ dollars. Good luck, mateys. read more

This was a really fun experience and our first time going! I hate to admit we overlooked it for so long since we usually go to Medieval Times, but I'm so glad we finally tried this one. It felt much less chaotic and crowded getting in, which was a nice start. The food was decent if you're very picky it might not be your favorite, but we thought it was good. We were told the kids' meal was chicken nuggets and mac and cheese, but it ended up being a burger with mac and cheese. Either way, it worked out fine, and our son enjoyed it. That was really the only hiccup, and it wasn't a big deal at all. My husband was a little bummed that the dessert (German chocolate cake) contained coconut, which he's allergic to. It was delicious, but unfortunately there wasn't an alternative offered for him, which was disappointing. Overall, the actors and the show were a lot of fun. Our 11-year-old had an absolute blast and even said he liked it more than Medieval Times. He was laughing the entire time, and our purple pirate was especially hilarious. The acrobats and gymnasts were incredibly talented. Toward the end, the show did start to feel a bit long for us adults maybe because we live almost two hours away and were getting tired, but our son had the time of his life. It's a good place for kids to enjoy dinner and a show. They are interactive with kids and have them participate. They have 2 shows: 4:30pm and 7pm. The show performance runs for about 1 1/2 hours. We were able to sit in the first row because we opted in for the VIP Experience. You get a souvenir pirate bandana, beaded necklace, and pirate flag/unlimited soft drinks, photobook (1 per reservation), and 15% off Gift Shop purchases. All for an extra $37.00 = Total amount per Adult ticket $114.02!!! Our party was over 10 people! Parking is free or already included in the high price ticket, but self parking. The entrance is through Azalea Dr. The main entrance on Beach Blvd is chained off (closed). They have a fully stock bar (extra-normal), gift shop before the show like purchasing hats and so forth. Then they try to escort you inside because of appetizers (UPSELL). 1-Treasure Bay Sampler ($25): selection of chicken wings, cheese sticks, jalapeño poppers and meatballs. 2-Tortuga Trio ($20): Cheese sticks, garlic fries, fried calamari. and so forth. All appetizers are in addition (+) to the entrance ticket fee. Now, once the show was completed, the entire arena of people go out to use the restroom and purchase more items in the gift shop area. We were the last ones purchasing pictures due to the long lines of everyone who attended. The line for the ladies restroom was long as well, so my wife decided to go purchase pictures first and then return to the ladies restroom. To her surprise, they closed the doors and told her that she couldn't use the restroom because they were going to get ready for the next show. We had paid over $114.00 dollars per adult ticket, appetizers, drinks....and she wasn't allowed to use the restroom - Grr!!! Luckily, Porto's Bakery is literally next door in which they allowed us to use their restroom. I will not be returning. The prices continue on going up but the food portions continue to shrink in size. read more

The show was amazing, and all the performers were great. Our kids had such a great time from start to finish. The music wasn't too loud, which we really appreciated, and the overall production was entertaining and well done. The actors were very interactive with the kids, which made the experience even more special. Our server was amazing--so sweet and attentive, especially considering he was taking care of at least 20 people. He did a fantastic job. We added the lava cake, and it was delicious--definitely worth it. The only downside was the food. It wasn't that great, which I was expecting to be better. When you're paying around $500 for two adults (no alcohol included) for dinner and a show, I do think the food quality could be improved. Overall though, it was an amazing experience, and the show itself made it well worth it. We're glad we went, and our kids absolutely loved it. read more
