We ordered the crab artichoke dip to start and the halibut fish and chips with an oyster po' boy. My son also ordered his 1st cheeseburger which he shared with his little sis. I got a nice cold IPA and the my son ordered an apple juice but they accidentally gave him a lemonade and quickly replaced with the correct apple juice as well. Food came out hot and delicious! We all devoured the carb artichoke dip on the baguette toast chips. The wife and I split our meals and both dishes were excellent. The oyster po'boy was crispy and tasty, I liked the bread but my wife thought it was too dry. The star was the fish and chips with a crispy thick batter but fresh well portioned halibut strips. We all ate the fries and drank our drinks. The cheeseburger was flame broiled and pretty good as well. Would come here again to try the other menu dishes. After our great experience I regret not trying the restaurant sooner, but hey, better late than never. I made reservations for 5pm on a Friday. There was ample parking at the private lot since it was still early. ASA had a pretty interior with a relaxed upscale atmosphere. Overall customer experience was exemplary. Employees were very friendly and courteous, and the wait staff was especially attentive. Also appreciated that our food came out in a timely manner. We shared the king trumpet mushroom appetizer, arrabiata pasta, and the Argentine steak, which was the perfect amount of food. Everything was incredibly flavorful and delicious. The appetizer surprised me the most with its uniqueness. The mushroom stems were cut paper thin and had the slightest essence of smokiness. Loved the chickpea puree. The Argentine steak was perfectly medium rare, and the meat itself was so tender. The fries were excellent. The fries were made the way I love them - light, airy, and crispy. Addictive and hard to resist. Lastly, the arrabiata pasta was solid. I did think the pasta was cooked 30 seconds too long, but the sauce really made up for the dish. The arbol chili and fresh garlic packed on some heat. We look forward to coming back for the steak and to try the mushroom rigatoni that everyone raves about!

I wanted a restaurant that serves nice THICK pork chops, grilled to perfection. Seems like a lot of them are located around Los Gatos... So here we are, for her special day! The best porkchop she's had in California was in Half Moon Bay. Unfortunately, I think the restaurant has closed... It was called Cetrella. But Asa might have the second best pork chop she's ever had. And so, since Cetrella has closed, this has become the new de-facto best porkchop! For that reason, this place gets 5 stars. I had a bit of it. It was cooked so well, white flesh all around, no pink at all. I think it was grilled and not sous-vide because she's had it done SV style and it still wass pink in the middle, even though it was all "thoroughly cooked". But despite the well-done, it was still juicy and soft! Pork is SOOO Easy to get dry. And especially since this is a thick chop. It was great! And no sauce... just an herb rub. I ordered the steak... it was cooked well. I've had better, and I generally prefer rib-eye over New York. But it wasn't bad at all. Just a little chewier than I would have liked. Plus $50 for a 12 oz, seemed a bit steep. I'd rather have ordered the pork chop. We also ordered the Chili Fries, which were a little too salty. But the taste was really good, and the fries were crunchy. If you dip them in the aioli, it's not as salty. For special occasions, my wife likes to treat herself to a cocktail. She really liked the Peach Punch with the Clarified Milk. It had a heavy dose of rum, and not too sweet. Plus it looked very pretty! We had 3 desserts! The basque cheesecake was ok... it looked deflated on one side, so it didn't look that appetizing. The taste was ok, it's not my favorite type of cheesecake... too airy for my taste. It's kinda funny, she could really taste the alcohol, whereas all I could taste was the banana. But we both agreed it was a great ice cream. She hates ice cream and she still finished almost a third of it! The ambiance is a bit loud. Not a romantic atmosphere, but it's not a club atmosphere either. The service was great... the waiter and busboys were super attentive to us, even though the place was pretty packed. The host was also super friendly. Highly recommend this place! The one bad thing about this is, since it's attached to the Best Western, it's hard to find parking. Most places say it's for hotel parking only, so you'd have to generally park on the street, unless you get really lucky and find a non-hotel parking spot in the lot.

My date ordered a tamarind flavored drink that our server described as a bit of a take on tom yum soup. I definitely see that, but it's much more similar to a fruity cocktail than a Bloody Mary. We ordered the pad see ew with beef and the Penang Curry witch chicken. The pad see ew was perfect; the chefs took their time and actually allowed the sauce to caramelize on the noodles, rounding out a pleasant sweetness and optimal soy sauce flavor with deeper caramel and slightly bitter notes. The cooked but still crisp Chinese broccoli offers a textural and flavor balance to the delicate but richly flavored noodles. We opted to go with the grilled beef as our protein, which was a flavorful leaner cut marinated in something like soy, garlic, pepper, and hints of ginger and maybe even a little coconut. The steak was excellent on its own, but a bit with all three elements was perfectly harmonious. The Penang curry was expertly balanced and added variety to our meal. The curry base itself is spicy, fragrant, and has a rich mouthfeel without feeling heavy. The bell peppers once again offered an element of crunch, but with more tenderness than the Chinese broccoli in the pad see ew. I often say that the difference between a good Thai spot and a great Thai spot often comes down to the meat quality, and in this case, the quality of the chicken was excellent. It tasted fresh and the flavors of the curry were well-simmered into it, providing flavor in every bite. Will definitely be returning again.
