Always have been a fan of Mediterranean food and this spot happened to be right by. The wife and I both went with the Chicken Shawarma Sandwich. The chicken was a bit dry and the flavor was okay. The Falafel was also just okay and nothing special. We also did order Stuffed Grape Leaves, but found out it was not there when we got home. They were able to refund us with no issues though. This place is pretty far from me, but I might consider an entree the next time. Pretty decent size spot with tons of seating. read more

I love Pita Inn. Their homemade hummus is so good. I usually get the lamb kebabs, but their business lunch special for $6.99 is a great deal just based on the amount of food and meat options that they give you. (Grilled saffron chicken, lamb kebab, steak, and of course gyro) The white yogurt sauce is so good I always order extra. Don't forget the spicy red sauce! read more

Pita Inn is the best of the best when it comes to Mediterranean food in the suburbs. It's been a go to staple in our household to take out of town folks for an experience like no other. People rave about it till this day. I'm happy to say the food is just as good as it was when it first opened years ago. Prices are extremely reasonable and their lunch special is unbeatable. Vegetarians go nuts for this place, as the falafels offer a healthy, filling meal for everyone. Pita Inn is always packed every time we go yet service is quick and food always tastes fresh. Stopped here after a somewhat late arrival into O'Hare. Decent selection of basic Mediterranean foods. We had Kefta and Beef Shawarma plates. Ordered baba ganoush and garlic sauce, as well as hot mint tea. Food is prepared to order, so you have to wait, but seemed reasonable. My only complaint is that the garlic sauce seemed watered down. Good food, bad service. I came here to get falafel salads to go. The woman taking my order was nice and helpful, but the other employees were not. We waited 20 minutes for our simple order and finally went up to check on it. The man very rudely said, "It's right here." Apparently it had been sitting there for a long time and they never bagged it up or called out our number. Meanwhile people who came in after us got their more complicated orders much more quickly. That being said, the falafel is great--not greasy or crumbly, and it has a nice garlicky flavor. The tahini and hot sauce (more like a salsa) are good too. This is not a review on the food unfortunately. This is a review of the kitchen workers. Being a creature of habit I am a regular bc of the great deals and ease of ordering. I'm hispanic but don't look it and understand Spanish fluently. The cooks constantly talk shit about me amongst each other when I walk in to order food. I mind my own business but never fails. They obviously don't know I'm hispanic but I have had enough. Instead of causing a verbal or physical confrontation and cause a scene or catch a case I have come here to let management know they have disrespectful cooks who need to be reprimanded. I have never been bullied and I'm not going to let that start with a bunch of clowns at a place where I spend my hard earned money. I'll take my business elsewhere. read more

Oh man, do I love Pita Inn. I was in this neck of the woods on Friday night and since I'd skipped lunch, I was starving and needed food quickly. I remembered Pita Inn was on my way home so my lovely mother and I went here. She's a vegetarian so Pita Inn seemed like the ideal spot for both of us. This place is packed, but it's a well-oiled machine and the service is friendly to boot. Just like David R mentioned in his review, the combination of taste and value simply cannot be matched. As I said earlier, I was starving so I ordered with reckless abandon. My mom couldn't believe how much I ordered for just the two of us, but at these prices, I couldn't pass them up. We shared a small baba ghannouj, Jerusalem salad, tabbouleh, fatoush salad and I also ordered a shish kebob entree. To that we each got a fresh-squeezed lemonade. All of this set me back just $16.20, plus I had plenty of leftovers. Everything was bursting with freshness and flavor. I initially had my doubts that the lemonade was freshly squeezed since it was dispensed from one of those wall containers, but after tasting it, I'm happy to report that it was homemade. I love Pita Inn and can't get enough of it. If only they opened a location in the Loop; I'd probably eat there every day. No joke. read more

In case you haven't heard, you get a heaping plate filled with kefta and shish kabobs, a chicken tender, shawarma, AND falafel complete with salad, a ton of rice and their freshly-baked pita bread. The baba is tops and I adore the smoky, grilled flavor of the meats. Is there a freakin' Weber back there?! You will wait a bit at lunch, but can you blame the room full of people scrambling to get their cheap fix? No, they're smart, just like you and me! Really, this is my favorite Middle Eastern restaurant (and local chain) in all of Chicagoland. Probably the United States. A win-win-win for taste buds, stomach and wallet. Good thing I have a friend who's obsessed as I am. And judging by the way we both polished off our lunches today, we should both be in jeans four sizes larger by summer! Awesome. See my review for the Dempster Pita Inn location. All of the good points hold true for this location, but this location trumps the other because of the parking situation and the outdoor seating. Sure, it doesn't have the bakery right next door. That's a minus point, but not enough to deduct a whole star. Love Pita, and look for excuses to be in the area during lunch when the weather is nice! We've stopped here while on a long motorbike ride more than once, too. Great food, nice people, good value. Can't say fairer than that. read more

I can't stop raving about Pita Inn. I used to frequent the Skokie location, now that I changed jobs the Glenview location is close...errr kinda. You see I work in Rosemont, yet I make the hike for lunch when the 'Pita Inn' mood strikes me. I have tried almost everything on the menu. For lunch I usually get the Business lunch special.It can't be beat. The portions are generous and filling. You get Chicken, beef seesh kabob, a grilled meat kabob which is tops, with rice and salad. I absolutely love the Harissa and sesame sauce. Not many people know, but they have pickles which include Olives, beets, radishes and onions. You have to ask the guy who fills the sauces, he will hand you a plate of the above mentioned delicious pickles. The Babaganoug is excellent, it goes so well with the Pita bread and suprisingly with the rice.Mix it up with some of the harrisa sauce and rice, chase it with a kabob...and you are in heaven!! I tried the Baklava once, and was very disappointed...I am not going to hold it against them, I am always a 'Happy' full when I leave. read more
