Service was great as the server was friendly, prompt and attentive. The place was clean and lively inside. Normally, I have great food at any Pita Jungle I've been to and it had been about a year since I was last at one. However, the meat was pretty dry in my shawarma this time. The flavors were great, veggies were fresh and pits nice and soft. I just was disappointed that the chicken wasn't tender and moist like I'm used to having there. I think I'll give it another shot and go for the hummus plate instead.
LONG BLACK HAIR in our French fries -- GROSS! Prior to that, the service was slow -- extremely slow. The food arrived cold. I'm not one to make a fuss, but I'll wait and see how the establishment handles situations like this. This meal should have unquestionably been comped -- but it wasn't. We barely received an apology. Very poor experience overall. Obviously, we won't be back
Service: OK Food: Decent Ambiance: Good Overall, healthy and simple. The lentil soup and Mediterranean salad were pretty decent. Update: The owner replied to me. I didn't say I was unhappy with the dish, nor was I overly ecstatic about the food either! I just thought it was decent. The rice was cauliflower turmeric rice. Anyone who eats healthy knows that any dish that's super healthy is not going to be super delicious. At least I gave my review 4 stars! But if you want me to be super honest, the lentil soup was a bit too salty! They may want to cut down on the seasoning. LOL
If you have a checklist of happy hour spots to try in the East Valley this is probably on your list. The happy hour menu has a great variety and select selection of tapas and drinks. The only downfall is that food happy hour only goes until 5 PM ( drinks go till 6). So you better be ready to get there early if you don't want to miss out on these deals. The sangria was a great portion size and was quite tasty. We opted for some pitas, hummus, chicken, and tried it out a couple of the happy hour pizzas as well. Portion sizes for the pizzas on happy hour were great - we had left overs - very filling . The service was a little bit slow, but we were there during a busy time on a Wednesday night and had a larger group. Overall we had a fun time and left satisfied !
Always so tasty, fresh and downright delicious. I love anything from the vegan menu. We had the California tofu Lavosh wrap, red pepper hummus, cauliflower taco and new potatoes. All were wonderful, except the cauliflower taco was a bit oily. Normally it's not like that. Love the outside patio by the fountain.
My long-time dining experience with Pita Jungle goes all the way back to my ASU college days in the 90's. I used to grab lunch at the original location on Apache Boulevard in Tempe after class all the time. It was a big hit with the students back then and still is today. Pita Jungle opened its first Valley location almost 30 years ago in 1994. Three ASU students came up with the concept and today they have locations all over Arizona. I do a lot of takeout at this location at Village Square at Dana Park in Gilbert. They have a small ordering counter off to the side that makes it easy to order and pick up your meal. I recently dined at this location with a friend and enjoyed the art work on the walls. Pita Jungle serves healthy Mediterranean food. The menu consists of healthy sandwiches, bowls and wood-fired pizzas. They accommodate all lifestyles including vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free. I'm always down for a Gyro or Chicken Shawarma with some hummus. I also love the Wood-Fired Pizzas, the Chicken Combo Platter and Tikka Masala. Definitely grab some tea with your meal. They are always refreshing and flavorful.
I took my grandma to Pita Jungle for her birthday, and while the food was good, the service really missed the mark. We ordered a margarita and paradise tea to start. My grandma's margarita didn't taste right, and when she asked for it to be remade, the server mentioned they were out of triple sec. Thankfully, the second version tasted much better. She had the Chicken Del Sol, and I ordered the Pick Two from the seasonal menu with lavash pizza and chicken tortilla soup--both dishes were solid. The real issue was the wait. It took forever to be greeted and get our drinks. After waiting 45 minutes, I asked about our food, especially since others seated after us were already finishing. The server apologized but couldn't explain the delay beyond saying "it got busy." We eventually spoke to the manager, who was very apologetic and said he'd personally go to the kitchen to make our meals. He also comped the entire meal due to the long wait, which was appreciated. Great food, poor service--but the manager handled it the best he could. We come here every year for our birthdays so hopefully next time will be better!
Stopped in here for a quick lunch and to check out their summer menu. They brought back some fan favorites and we wanted to try a few. It's located in a strip mall back in the corner. It was easy to find. They had an outdoor patio, but it was too hot to sit outside. Inside, there was a seating at a small bar along with regular tables in the dining area. Everything coming out of the kitchen looked delicious, so many great choices, healthy choices. They also had a good selection of vegan and gluten-free. Lastly, Sunny was our server. She was wonderful. Greeted us with a smile took great care of us. Will definitely come back.
I recently tried out this location of Pita Jungle with a friend who came to town. It was for lunch and I was expecting a huge line but there seemed to be ample space for everyone to dine in. We were seated immediately by a lovely older lady. She met us with enthusiasm and kindness. We sat outside and ordered some dishes. The waitress helping us was a little glum but didn't fault on anything. The food came out promptly and we were checked on a few times with regular water top offs. Bathrooms were clean and was replenished. Water labeled "very hot" was indeed very hot haha glad there was a sign. Great location. Fresh food. Would recommend for lunch any day.

We came here for lunch on a Sunday. Located in the corner of Dana Park mall, this quaint little store has a trendy ambiance. There are plenty of tables set up for outside dining. This is good until the weather gets hot. We chose to eat inside. The grill area is open so you can actually watch your food being prepared. The seating is limited to several booths and about a dozen tables. Our experience was pleasant. Our waitress was friendly and the service was prompt. Pita is what this place is all about. You get pitas with your salads or used as wraps in sandwiches. I ordered a pizza which was on, you guessed it, a pita. I was a little disappointed at the selection of burgers. they were "healthy burgers". All were veggie burgers of one kind or another. That's good for the vegetarian, but carnivores will be left wanting that juicy medium grilled 80/20 ground beef burger. I will say that the pizza I ordered was surprisingly tasty. I got the roasted garlic portabella pizza. This was made on an ultra thin pita like crust, which made it very crispy once it's baked. This is my favorite style of crust. There was a modest amount of sauce and cheese, which was ok by me. After all for me it's about the toppings anyway. The toppings, roasted garlic, basil, Portabella mushrooms, and thinly sliced tomatoes. I enjoyed every bite, and it was under 10 bucks. You can't beat that at most places. Now that I'm spoiled on this pita-pizza, I may not be able to get past that on the menu. I will try other items, but I want to experience the other pizzas first. read more

Pita Jungle is a local favorite! It is now one of my favorite places to go as well. We went on a Sunday for lunch, it was moderately busy. We were seated and our waitress was by a short time later to get our drink orders. The menu is filled with a ton of Greek/Mediterranean goodness. They have salads, wraps, pitas, pizzas. I chose the roasted chicken Mediterranean pita. It was very good. Our food was out in a timely manner, and just as visually appealing as the taste. This location is located in a strip mall, offers outdoor seating, and is tastefully decorated. They offer take out, and there is a separate entrance for the take out orders. I think this is a great idea as it reduces the clutter in the lobby. This will definitely be a place I will frequent! read more

5 stars, from the service to the cuisine to the dining atmosphere. The interior decor is artsy and homey with abstract paintings and a dimmed light setting is perfect for the mediteran theme. The food is divine. Good flavors, wonderful textures and prepared with obvious care and culinary talent. The food was healthy which was great because that's what I was going for when coming here. I've honestly have had better veggie burgers but the black bean burger was pretty good. The beans on the side were surprisingly good. Again your healthy restaurant so nothing too crazy to die for here. I bet the sauce is really good though, I didn't get to try it so couldn't really say. So many choices and so little time. First, I've been a fan of Middle Eastern food most of my life. I was suspicious of this place because it looks like another standard American Chain restaurant without the authentic vibe. Pita Jungle proved me wrong. The food is the vibe. I love this place & thier various locations. I ordered from thier sides menu because ei wasn't feeling so hungry and it was a good amt of food. It cost was close to an entree but I don't eat grains or many carbs so this way was ideal. I had thier chicken (cooked much like a shwarma) and the cauliflower. It said steamed or sauteed, so I asked for sauteed and it was def baked or grilled (which is better IMO so they should say it). It had a nice lil bit of char. My friend got falafel and they are willing to bake it as long as you ask (otherwise it's fried) and a flat bread pizza that looked delicious. Great food. Vegetarian and vegan options, you just have to ask, the servers are pretty knowledgeable with their non vegan items! Delicious hummus' , pitas, veggie salads, quinoa-kale plare, micro platter, falafels, chipotle black bean burger (with no bun since its not vegan ) & the potatos all vegan and delicious....and OMG, their salad dressings that are made in house are to die for ! I agree with other reviewers that this location is more of an "upscale" environment than other pita jungle locations. It is definitely beautiful and I would really like to eat in their outside area someday soon. Both times I have been to this location were for takeout so I can't speak much for the wait staff but the people running the takeout door, yeah a whole separate door for takeout - a really nice touch, have been pleasant and helpful. The last time I ordered I went I ordered an iced chai tea to go. My to-go cup was much smaller at this location than I have had in the past at other locations. Hope that isn't how it is going to be from now on because I will probably stop ordering them. Also, I asked for almond milk. Just soy or cow milk. That's a bit of a bummer. Mmmm...chipotle black bean burger...GET IN MY BELLY. Pita Jungle is one of those places that you just feel cool eating at. It has a hipster, artsy vibe to it and everyone is over the top nice. As stated so slyly above, my fav is the chipotle black bean burger. I get mine with no bun, because I am not about to let bread fill me up when there's a tasty little dish like this one on the table (they have cranberries inside of the burger!!!). It comes with a side of chipotle hummus and garlic new potatoes, which are so flavorful and good. Second fav is the falafel pita. What's a falafel you ask? Well, it;s heaven in a round crispy garbanzo bean package. If you have never had one, just try it. You will like it. read more
Quite possibly my favorite restaurant in the area. SO glad they opened up a new one closer to my house! The restaurant is a really beautiful space -- moody overhead lighting, cool art on the walls, and unique furniture spread around for a loungy kind of feel. The servers are all young hipster types, very nice and attentive. Literally everything I've tried from their menu is good! Favorites include: the coconut curry soup, hummus trio, spinach four cheese quesadilla, lavosh pizza, garlic new potatoes, caramelized cauliflower with tahini, guava lemonade, and their amazing rice pudding for dessert. Always such a good experience, staff it's totally chill and there's always something eclectic to eyeball on the walls. My favorite is the chicken tikka Marsala and coconut curry soup. Being a highly picky eater I love that they are highly familiar with allergy and ingredient contents. Love that I can eat In peace. My only reason for a 4 and not 5 is that if you catch a server on a bad day it can kinda tarnish their image, turns out a PhD is not an employment requirement, which becomes apparent if you order Togo.. Otherwise IM a card toting member to the pita pack. read more

This is a very trendy yuppy place. However, that being said the food was fresh and healthy. I had the chicken pita with classic hummus. What surprised me is based on previous reviews I thought this was going to be a chipotle like pita restaurant. They have a bar with beer on tap. This atmosphere was interesting. Definitely trendy.
