We ordered the chicken pesto and the chicken bbq pizza and they were cold and they were dry and chewy. I asked my husband to go earlier to pick it up so it would be hot, just out of the oven and they were both barely hot. The pizzas were barely cut, we had to recut them ourselves. Really disappointed. The service here was extremely good. Everyone was very friendly and there was prompt service. We went there in the evening, so everything seemed dark. While there was plenty of seating when we got there, I could see there being an issue or a wait as soon as we were able to find a seat to eat. The pizza was pretty good. However, I did order one of their most popular pizzas and it came with ricotta, but there was an entire slice of pizza that didn't have any ricotta on it, but when looking at different pictures of the pizza from other reviews, it looks like they just didn't add as much on mine. I think they also take a lot of pride in their house made ranch which cost nearly 2 dollars for a little few ounces of it. Not to mention it tasted a lot like blue cheese without the chunks of blue cheese in it. The first time my family and I have tried this place was when we came for the painting event they held on Saturday. I thought it would be a fun activity to paint with my daughter and my girlfriend and her daughter. We tried the food and it was amazing. I don't think we ordered anything we did not like. The pizza is just okay, but nearly impossible to grasp. If you pick up a slice it falls apart big time. The crust is okay, a little too overcooked for my liking. I'm updating my earlier review from 1 star to 5 stars. Cody Hopkins, the regional manager, reached out regarding the delivery situation. He wanted additional details and promised to get to the bottom of the issues that have apparently been happening with online orders and delivery times. Not only that, he gave me a gift card to give them another chance, and I will certainly do that. Even with the (initial) crummy delivery situation, the pizza was very good. And I've heard from locals that they have some great craft beer and a fun speakeasy at the Costa Mesa location, so would be worth giving it a shot! It added a nice sweetness to the pie. Both pizzas seemed to use more Parmesan cheese over the traditional mozzarella, so the cheese was more crumbly than stringy. Also, both pies seems to use a seasoned sauce, which I enjoyed. However, I wouldn't have expected the margherita to use a seasoned sauce. We thought the margarita was more like a cheese pizza than the traditional margherita pizza. I personally was starting to feel a little bit of heartburn and acid reflux after the meal, so if you're predisposed to symptoms like this, this pizza probably isn't for you. There was one consistent female waiter that assisted our waiter by being available for us to ask for help. She knew what she was doing. Upon entering the restaurant, no one is ever at th4 cash register or hosting. I have only ordered take-out from this place 2 other times, and every time I pick-up it takes a while for someone to notice a customer waiting around the corner to figure out how the restaurant is being run. When it comes to customer service, you get better service at an IHOP. The food is great. To complete the order, the restaurant wants to charge extra for ranch and refills (I overheard the table next to me with the waiter). When I order take-out, these items are included. At the restaurant, you can see the panels of the lower roof filled with thick dust. The windows look like they haven't been washed in a long time. The place essentials appears to have had a touch of love only whenever it was opened. When I ordered take-out, I was refused their froze because you it is only served in the restaurant. Today I went to order our usual with the froze, and they said there is not froze and that Jerrad (the cashier) said that he turned it off....however, it was only 7:30pm and they close at 10pm. I usually have my froze at Sol Cocina on PCH with a nice ocean view....I thought I couldn't finally try these locations froze since it is a block away from my place....too bad. Also, if they are to charge extra for anything you might need, they should make people pay after they are done with their meal rather than beforehand. I honestly don't think this location has any employees that interface with the public with an IQ over 60. I would have given "one star" if the food wasn't so good. That's what's so sad, the food is excellent, but the people working here are so dumb or high or both. My wife went there to pick up a "to-go order" and was told by one of the geniuses where to pick up the food. After waiting 20 minutes and her asking where the order was, they searched and couldn't find it. Apparently, it was sitting on the other side of the restaurant getting cold. I'd love to begin that the vibe in this place is chill and family-friendly. My mom and I were greeted by Alex, who was so kind and extremely knowledgeable about everything on the menu. He helped me add some extras to my favorite gluten free pizza the honey bear, (shout-out to Thomas who made the best honeybear pizza I've had to date!) which is always worth the hour drive as there is no pitfire in my area! Hopefully, they'll open one in Long Beach in the near future. He also recommended the chopped salad with salami and peppers, and it was so flavorful!
