I'm not sure what's up with the other reviews, but my goodness. A pleasant surprise! I tried four pizzas, my favorite was the mushroom one and honey bear. The chicken "wings" and Mac & cheese was . Top tier customer service, I felt welcomed immediately after walking in. Great atmosphere, clean inside, good vibes! This spot is great for groups too. I highly recommend this spot and will be back my only complaint was that we shouldn't have gotten a salad, other than that you're in for a treat!

We love coming to Pitfire for a chill dinner! We had a late dinner and were craving pizza, it was really crowded because a sports team arrived but there was so much seating that it actually didn't take that long to order at the counter and get our food. I usually get the cheese pizza which I love but decided to switch it up and try the special Get Sauced pizza on gluten free crust which was great! The blend of vodka sauce, marinara, and pesto worked so well together. My fiance got the bbq chicken pizza which he said was just what he was craving. The servers are always so nice and work so hard!

Review of 07/24 - better than last time. Self service pizza joint. Pizza- not bad for price. Wish they had a little bit better crust but pizza tasted good. Uneven how they put on the olives. Cashiers are decent and friendly. Nice set up in terms of seating and options. Options include areas for dogs as well.

I prefer pizza to be crispy and have some structure. Their pizza is very doughy and floppy. It was good but not my preference. Cesar salad had more anchovy flavor but not bad. Their side of ranch is heavy on the dill, again not bad, just different. Also maybe it's the night we went but there were a lot of younger kids and teens running around and climbing on the walls??

Found my new go to when I'm in the area!!! We did a take out order and just being there in person i think we need to eat in person for the vibes It's spacious! Plenty of seating and they have a parking lot and more street parking. Staff were on it fulfilling take out orders and also orders of people dining in. I love the variety of their menu and was happy with the pasta i chose! I added chicken to it and it was the shredded type, i wish it was grilled but whatever it was still good. The Hawaiian pizza was yummy but i wish it was bigger lol We'll come back so we can dine in.

Pitfire always hits the spot, but the seasonal jalapeño, pepperoni, and pineapple pizza was next-level good. The crust was perfectly charred, the pepperoni had that crispy curl, the pineapple was super fresh, and the jalapeños added the perfect kick without overpowering everything. It's that perfect sweet-spicy-savory combo. I also got the kale salad, and it was honestly one of the best kale salads I've had -- super fresh, great dressing, and the toppings actually bring flavor instead of just being filler. Light, crunchy, and a great balance with the pizza. Service was fast, everything came out hot, and the food was consistently great. Definitely recommend if you want something a little elevated but still casual and delicious.

Pizza was mediocre it had limited cheese. The pizza sauce was delicious and the crust was good. I won't be back, the pizza wasn't as good as it was years ago. The restaurant was spacious ,Great for family gatherings. Very casual; the restrooms were messy and needed cleaning.

Ordered the Honey Bear pizza. Was super excited to try it because it's listed as one of their more popular items. Beautiful looking pizza. Bland in taste. Very bland. Fennel-less sausage. Barely any sauce. It wouldn't have mattered. The most flavorless pie I've ever tasted. Had to doctor it up a lot with my own garlic and basil. The honey was the most prominent flavor. Essentially I was eating a dessert.

Been here twice now The pepperoni is our go to! We usually do takeout so we add a bit of hot honey when we get home and it tastes amazing! I've tried the buffalo boneless wings and i wasn't that big of a fan but my fiancé enjoyed them. The kale salad is good too but feels a bit pricey for what you get Nonetheless the pizza doesn't disappoint and we will be giving the pasta a try next time we go!

I'm also from San Francisco, and there's alot of artisanal pizza places-so I'm always purveying for artisanal pizza in the Los Angeles region to satisfy my pizza tooth. Pitfire Artisan Pizza is an answer to that. They make artisan pizzas in front of you. I ordered the Sausage Party Pizza and the Chicken and Mushroom Cavatappi. Both entrees were really good. The Sausage Party Pizza had some kind of balsamic glaze that I thought was on the sweet side, but overall the pizza was still very good. Maybe you could tell them to leave it out if you don't want your pizza too sweet. The crust is thin to medium size. The cavatappi was rich and buttery with big hunks of chicken and mushroom. They have vegan/vegetarian options for pizza, pasta, and sides, if you're not a meateater. The interiors are spacious and industrial/modern with lively music. They still have the alien graffiti art by Daniel Johnston. I've seen that alien for at least 15 years on their wall since I've been coming to Pitfire Artisan Pizza in Culver City since 2010. It's comforting to see it again after so many years. They have long tables for big groups. Service was good and prompt. Give it a try! You won't be disappointed.

Service here was great - friendly, prompt, and attentive but not overly so. Food came out fast and they refilled our fountain drinks without us having to ask. We ordered the buffalo wings and Zoe's pepperoni pizza. The server staged it nicely, wings first and pizza a bit after. The wings were decent, boneless but still with dark meat. The sauce flavor was good but the meat was a little stringy, and some were clumped together making the size of wings pretty uneven and cooked differently. Blue cheese was solid. The pizza didn't much flavor and under seasoned. First bite I took yanked the cheese off, I think they use mozzarella balls and the distribution was uneven, and it was a little coagulated. The bottom of pizza was dusty which is not my fave. To sum up, service was great with fun and friendly vibes - but the food was lackluster. If I came here again, would order one of the pizzas with more toppings to give it more flavor.

Pitfire Pizza continues to be a very solid option in LA, even when going gluten free. I tried the gluten-free sausage & ricotta and the gluten-free mushroom pizza, both were excellent, but the mushroom really stole the show. Deep flavor, well balanced, and thoughtfully put together. The crust was crispy and held up well, which isn't always a given with gluten-free pizza. Clean flavors and strong execution across the board, and a great option if you're looking for a gluten-free pie that doesn't feel like a compromise.

Pretty good! The dough was just a little too chewy for my taste and the crust a little too thick in the back. Sauce could have been spread a bit more evenly and closer to the crust - had a slice where it was not even remotely close. But flavors overall were good and we enjoyed our meal and the casual vibe. Parking lot is a bit small / tight and they always look busy whenever I drive by.

Do you still have bike racks?

Hi! Pitfire Mar Vista does not have bike racks.

Do you have a baby changing table?

    We do.

Is the honey bear spicy (asking for a 4 year old 😂)?

Hi BB, the Honey Bear has calabrian chili and chili flakes, but both can be removed for a spice-free version!

Do you still have pizza making days on Tuesdays?! If so, can you tell me more!?

Hi Melanie, we do pizza making parties by reservation only. You can reach out to Jake@pitfirepizza.com for inquiries! We look forward to hosting you soon.

Did they recently change the mozzarella cheese? I've been coming to Pitfire for years, and today the cheese tasted different.

Hi there, yes we did recently change our mozzarella to Grande, it’s a creamery in Wisconsin that uses no preservatives or additives and very high quality dairy. Did you like it? We appreciate the feedback!

Does this place have gluten free crust?

    Yes we do.

Despite having three types of pepperoni, this does not mean the pizza is going to be covered head to toe with pepperoni slices. The tomato sauce was the best indicator that we were eating a fresh pizza. The crust was crunchy and the cheese had a nice pull. A lot of oil pooled on the bottom which was the only downside. However, I would come back again to try the other pizzas. Note: Market Pizza is located in a back patio surrounded by Jackson Place (apartments for rent) and Jackson Market (historic neighborhood cafe and deli). Follow map directions - you'll second guess yourself at first if you park on the main street because Market Pizza and Jackson Market are part of the neighborhood itself and are not surrounded by your typical commercial businesses. It's a soothing environment for brunch with draping vegetation and cute furniture. Beware of flies during daytime. The store itself only had two people working (one person mostly taking orders and one person mostly cooking) so it took a while to make the pizza because the wood fired oven isn't necessarily humongous and there were several people who had ordered before us. No buzzer so if you decide to wander around or if your table is out of earshot, you'll have to check in as they verbally call orders. However, I left disappointed with my visit, especially after trying several other pizza restaurants on this list that absolutely lived up to the hype. Sei is in the Pico-Robertson neighborhood, unassumingly sitting on the corner of the block. The restaurant is very small. It features a bar that surrounds the kitchen area, along with a few tables. They accept reservations and walk-ins, and they also seem to do a lot of takeout orders. Not being able to make a reservation for three, we decided to get there early on a weekday to grab a seat. We waited about ten minutes for three seats at the bar. The menu has plenty of options, featuring both classics and more unique pizzas. We ordered one pizza per person with the intention of sharing all three, and went for a mix of classic and fusion, opting for the Margherita, Ruti's Pizza, and Mala Lamb Sausage. It took about 20 to 25 minutes for the pizza to arrive at our table. Visually, the pizzas all looked amazing. The crust was really puffy with plenty of color contrast on the plate. Upon picking up my first slice, I immediately noted the floppiness of the pizza. The center of the pizza collapsed, causing some ingredients to fall off. This carried into my thoughts on the texture of the crust. In the Margherita especially, the bites towards the middle of the pizza were really soggy. The texture was borderline unpleasant. Maybe it had to do with the amount of sauce they used, but I found that the Margherita was the only pizza we ordered that was really problematic in this aspect. And while the Ruti's and Mala Lamb pizzas were still floppy in the middle, they weren't as soggy. Despite this, it was clear to me that Pizzeria Sei cared a lot about their ingredients. The natural flavors of each component in every pizza shone beautifully. The tomato sauce had a really nice, sweet, and tangy flavor, and all the herbs were aromatic and flavorful. I found the Mala Lamb Sausage pizza to be the best. The flavor profile was well-balanced and unique in addition to the crust being the best. As I ate closer to the edge of the pizza towards the crust, the texture improved drastically. The crust itself had a light crunch but was overall very chewy, and it was finished with high-quality olive oil. Combined, these drastically improved the pizza. Was Sei the second-best pizza in the US? For me, it definitely wasn't. However, they offer a unique crust style hard to find elsewhere in the US, along with creative dishes that make Pizzeria Sei worth a visit. If I were to go again, I wouldn't order all of the pizzas at the same time. From the second the pizzas hit our table, they grew soggier, and as they cooled, all of the pizzas were mediocre. I understand that this style of pizza is required to be eaten immediately, but it is also something to note and plan for.
